DPxDC Prompt: Who's Child Is This?
Inspired by an ICarly Clip. "Mr. Wayne, we have your son here."
Bruce blinked, then checked the number on the phone. It was from the police station. He then looked around the table which had fallen silent when Alfred had brought him the phone.
Dick, Jason, Tim, Duke, and Damian were all accounted for. Even Jon was there so they couldn't have misidentified him as his kid.
"Which one?" Bruce chose to ask.
"Tim Drake."
Bruce looked at Tim specifically as he tilted his head confused. "Are you sure?"
"Oh yeah, Mr. Wayne, we know your boys by now."
"Right... alright, I'll be there in a couple of minutes. Can I ask on why Tim has been taken into custody?"
Tim tilted his head even further while some of the others around the table started chuckling.
"He was found trespassing near the new Axion Labs at the edge of the city. The owner chose not to press charges so we're sending him home in your custody."
"I see, I'll be there soon. Thank you for the call."
"Of course, Mr. Wayne, we'll see you soon."
Bruce ended the call then looked at his kids. "Apparently, Tim has been arrested for trespassing near the Axion Labs construction site."
"And you didn't even invite me?" Dick chuckled at Tim, "We could have had so much fun together."
Tim scrunched his nose at the idea. "No way, that whole area is an OSHA violation. If I went there it wouldn't be out of costume, whoever that kid is was risking his life just walking within a block of it."
"Well, I'm going to go down there and see what 'Tim' was thinking." Bruce got out of his seat, "I'll be back soon."
"New brother?" Cass asked as Damian growled.
"We're going to assume no for now, but we may have another for dinner depending on what's going on."
"I will prepare another seat while you are gone, Master Bruce."
"Thanks, Alfred. I'll be back soon."
-
When Bruce walked into the police station he immediately noticed 'Tim' sitting in front of one of the officers desks. It was a newer officer and it was clear that neither Detective Montoya or Commissioner Gordon were in or somebody would have noticed that this kid definitely wasn't Tim.
Yes, the kid had black hair which was on the shorter side but his hair fell in front of his face more than Tim would wear it, and his eyes were unnaturally blue. He was pale in an old hoodie, blue jeans, and red shoes. The biggest difference though was that this kid looked like he was only pushing 15, not 17. Yes, he looked quite a bit like Tim but anybody who had spent more than five minutes with Tim Drake would know they weren't the same person.
"Mr. Wayne." The officer called as Bruce walked over, looking at the kid.
He was thin and pale, which a tired look on his face. He also shrunk away from Bruce when he walked over.
Bruce knew what a kid in trouble looked like. So he smiled down at the kid. "You know, Tim, when I said you could go to the lab to do your science homework I didn't expect you to go all the way to Axion Labs."
The kid looked at him, surprised then seemed to quickly catch on. "What can I say, I had to see what terrible science looked like. Sorry for making you come down here."
"It's fine, but are you okay?"
"Y-yeah, totally." He said, his hand subconsciously moving to his ribs as though he was hurt.
"Alright then you are grounded."
"What?!" 'Tim' squeaked, "Come on-"
"Nope. You are ground... for... 'til... college."
"FOR 'TIL COLLEGE?!"
"For 'til college!"
The officer cleared his throat then held out a clipboard. "If you sign the red x's you can take your son and leave, Mr. Wayne."
Bruce took the papers, quickly looking over it and signing it. It was strange to see that all of the handwriting on the paperwork was adult writing. Had they even asked this kid his name? Once everything was signed he passed it back over to the officer who nodded.
"Looks good. Thanks Mr. Wayne and you stay out of trouble. The whole city knows your face. You're just lucky Mr. Masters didn't want to press charges."
"Yeah, so lucky." The kid rolled his eyes, then stood up and looked up at Bruce. "Can we go now?"
"Sure thing, chum. Come on." Bruce said, leading the kid out of the station and to the car. The kid seemed hesitant as he looked around, his eyes narrowing when they landed on a gentlemen with silver hair in a ponytail, only when the man smiled at 'Tim' did the kid speak up again.
"Come on, Dad, let's get out of here before the stalkers find us." He said, climbing in the front seat and closing the door, much to the annoyance of the silver haired man.
Bruce climbed in the front seat, buckling in and driving away from the station. "So... 'not Tim' what's your name?"
"Danny. Just Danny... sorry about all of that Mr. Wayne. That guy took one look at me and started calling me 'Tim' and when I tried to explain that I wasn't 'Tim' hey called me a liar. But if I gave them my real name then... somebody else was going to come collect me and I didn't want that. So... I let them call me Tim. I'm sorry, I hope it didn't put you out..."
"Not at all. But... are you okay? Why were you at Axion Labs?"
Danny seemed hesitant, "I... it sounds crazy."
"It's Gotham, kid. Crazy things happen all the time..."
"Right... well um... I-I was kidnapped from my home and taken to Axion Labs. I-I escaped and when I was trying to leave the grounds the police saw me and thought I was trespassing. Since the cops were I decided to play along with it..."
Bruce frowned, "Kidnapped? Is... is there somebody I can call?"
Danny shook his head. "I have an older sister who is probably going crazy looking for me but other than her and a couple of friends there wouldn't be anybody. My parents... they were kind of involved. They... they found out something about me and tried to hurt me, I ran to somebody I knew I couldn't trust because I thought maybe he would get his head out of his ass but I was just being an idiot." Danny hugged himself. "You can drop me off anywhere though, you don't have to bother yourself with me or my shit."
Bruce pulled to a stoplight and reached over to the kid who flinched, Bruce waited until he relaxed before Bruce patted his head. "I'm not going to just leave you on the street. Besides, it's late and by now my butler has already dished you some dinner. So at least for tonight you're welcome to stay with me and my kids. We'll get some food in your belly, make sure you're not wounded, let you call your sister, and find a way to get you home. Sound good?" He asked, moving his hand away.
Danny looked at Bruce, seeming a bit untrusting for a moment before he glanced at something near Bruce and relaxed. There was nothing with Bruce, he wasn't carrying anything, but whatever Danny was seeing was enough to put his mind at ease. "Okay... but if anybody tries anything be warned, I bite."
Bruce chuckled, "So do most of the others. You'll fit right in."
'But just what the hell is going on with this kid? Does it have anything to do with that man outside the police station? I've got to get to the bottom of this before this kid leaves, especially if he's still a target.'

So like the video of Gordon Ramsay when the girl burns her hand, all the “that’s it- deep breath- calm down- good girl- goooood girlllll” but like…it’s Carmy and you’ve burnt your hand and he’s screaming at Richie to get some ice but he’s speaking to you so gently but so in control and you almost forget your hand is still sizzling
he moves fast. pulls you to the sink, yelling, “richie get out of the fucking way,” and you can feel your heart beat in your hand. it’s pulsating, swear you can smell your flesh burning, and carmen is frantic. that man has never known peace, but this is raw kind of rush — panic a literal, physical thing.
“fuck, cousin, what’s the rush for—“ he starts, ready to fight, but he must see carmen holding your sizzling hand, and your pained, tense face, because he puts his hands up.
“whoa, man—what happened?”
carmen ignores him, and guides your hand under the tap, holding your wrist gently in his tatted palm. you hiss as soon as it touches the luckwarm water, and carmen nods his head, and gently says, “shh, i know.”
you hide your face with your elbow, but peak over and watch as water runs over your charred hand. duck fat will do that. you must make a sound, as carmen nods, and calmly orders, “relax your hand for me. come on, unclench. thereee we go, sweetheart. that’s it.”
richie pipes up, “i’m literally first aid trained, let me see,” and carmen’s face scrunches up, “can you shut the fuck up for a second?” he spits over his shoulder. you whine into your elbow, and carmen’s demeanor switches. he rubs your wrist, his voice soft and sweet as he coos, “just breathe, take a deep breath. you’re good, that’s it. unclench your hand for me again, i know it hurts but relax—thaaat’s it, goood. good girl, good.”

The Intern: The Laughing Fish
Gotham harbor buzzes with energy this morning. Fishermen compete for the best catch. Dozens of workers prep the yachts for their bosses rich escapades. Even the seagulls are hard at work today, eagerly searching the docks for their next meal. A perfect image of regular people living their lives. Unfortunately if we've been called, then something must be going horribly wrong. Judging from the crowd of distressed fishermen forming towards the end of the boardwalk, my gut feeling was right.
As I draw near the distressed crowd, a familiar voice rises above the rest.
"We are sending our best people to look into this. Keep an eye out for a press conference by the end of today." Detective Gordon addresses the crowd.
The crowd erupts in a chorus of anger.
"You've got to be kidding me."
"I'm going to brutalize that clown!"
"God, I hate this city."
Behind the greying Detective stands a very sour looking Dr. Harris. I maneuver my way through the crowd next to him.
"Dr." I greet from behind.
Dr. Harris says nothing while attempting to catch a slippery fish.
"How adept are you at evolutionary biology?" He eventually asks through the sweat beating down his face.
"I dabble..." I respond growing closer to peer over his shoulder.
Dr. Harris grabs a fish with his bare hands. Before I can move the wiggling vertebrate leaps from his hands directly at my face.
"Catch it!" Dr. Harris hisses.
The flying tang leaves a wet trail across my cheek before dropping into my hands. The poor fish fights with everything it has to get away. Against all odds, I manage to wrangle the wiggle worm into a somewhat sturdy position in my palms.
Once the fish slows a bit, I notice something. The fish is smiling. A big yellow toothy smile with a red outline that one could mistake for lips. The external scales have turned a peculiar, yet familiar shade of pearly white. Both the pelvic fin and the pectoral fin have developed into a contrasting shade of dark green.
If I didn't know any better, I would say it looked like-
"Joker..." A voice growls interrupting my thoughts.
Turning to face our new arrival, I almost laugh at what I see. Batman's suit looks a little goofy in the morning light. Maybe even a little warm in the humid air. The cowl has a slight shine to it. Dr. Harris immediately begins explaining our situation to the Caped Crusader.
"This batch came in last night. We don't know how or why. The working hypothesis is that this may be a side effect of the Jokers latest toxin."
"Is it deadly?" Batman questions eyeing the gasping fish in my hands.
"Not to the fish. We should get the test results back by noon if we start soon."
Batman nods.
"Let me know what you find out."
I take pity on the fish and throw it back with the rest. Most of my life I've struggled with asthma: I know the feeling.
"What would he have to gain from this?" I wonder aloud.
Turning to the Dark Knight, I am stunned to realize there is nobody there. Batman disappeared. Doing a 360, I notice a dark figure hiding in the shadows on the nearest boat.
Huh.. Maybe the dark suit doesn't look so dumb in the daylight after all.
Dr. Harris smiles at me for the first time. My heart pounds. This can't be good.
"Didn't you say that you liked smoothies?"
I do like smoothies, but why does this feel like a test? I nod slowly.
"I hope you didn't eat anything too heavy this morning. We'll need to prep quite a bit of samples."
I narrow my eyes. Samples are typically liquid. How would we make fish.... Oh my God... This cannot be happening.
"Don't we need to test the water for excess nutrients? We don't want an algae bloom to form from the toxin."
There's a glint that forms underneath his unnecessarily large glasses.
"All in good time dear. We can worry about that after lunch."
Hoisting the barrel of Joker fish into the bed of his pick up truck, Dr. Harris teases down at me.
"After we prep those samples, how about fish and chips? I'm having a craving."

🌿🍃Toxic Lover: Pt: II
Nightwing X male!reader with a former team who had become Poison Ivy like meta-human.
Summary:Your a former Titan teammate, you and Dick have unresolved feelings and you become infected with the same toxins and chemicals that turned Poison Ivy into a meta-human.
————-
“They Can Bury Us Deep, But We Always Grow.”
Batman sat perched on the rooftops of Gotham. It was a rainy night, much preferred these nights. Most of the crime was kept to the shadows it made it easier for him.
“Batman,we’ve got a problem,”Oracle’s voice filled his coms. “Fill me in.” He jumped off the building and glided north of his location.
——
A man walks outside of the Stacked Deck Bar, and takes a puff from his cigarette. He walks into the alleyway and takes a swig of his flask.
He rounds the corner to see a shadow figure standing before him.
“It’s the freakin’ bat,” he takes out his pistol but it’s knocked out of his grips my a WingDing. The next thing he knows he’s thrown against a nearby dumpster.
“You murderer.” Nightwing snarled at the man before his feet. He kicked him in the stomach, then picked him up and flung him to the other side of the alley.
“L-look I’m sorry about you friend—it’s wasn’t personal.” He’s met with a powerful shock to the gut.
“AHHH-pplease.”
“That’s enough, honey,”A thin cloud of pink and gold mist surrounded the two men, Y/n emerged be held by tree branches pink petals. “It’s good to see you,Nolan wasn’t it. however, the last time we meet you killed me along with your friends.” Y/n grinned. He sported a new pale green skin tone now, his normal (E/C) eyes were a deep emerald. Leaves and vines woven together to map pants and some wrapped around his forearms and torso.
He lowered himself and walked over to Nightwing placing a hand on his emblem. “You know I should really thing you, you allowed me to be a better version of myself,”
“You’re welcome-“Nightwing kicked him in the gut again.
Y/n crossed his arms across his chest. “Though I could have done without the new color. No matter it’s time you answer my questions.” He waved his hand and Nightwing backed away from the goon. Y/n crouched down and blow from his palm, more of the same pink dust engulfed him squared in the face and almost immediately his grimace morphed into a blank stare.
“Now what I want to know two things. What is the name of the scientist that gave you the order to kill me, and last where is Poison Ivy?”
———
The Batmobile came to a screeching haunt behind several police cruisers. He leaped out and walked past the small crowd held back by officers.
A officer lifted a yellow tape and he entered the crime scene. Gordon stood a foot away from two white sheets, Spoiler and Red Robin stood at the bodies scanning them before joining Batman and the Commissioner.
“They two of the best people on the force,” Gordon puffed after taking a drag from his Pipe.
“Any leads?” Batman turned to the two heroes. Red Robin hand him a zip lock bag with several deep green leaves.
“Posion Ivy, she’s been quiet.” Spoiler folded her arms.
Batman walked past them and removed the sheets to observe the bodies. It’s definitely something Ivy could have done but Batman isn’t so sure. He knows that’s she’s been MIA for months.
He rises his head and looks straight ahead. “Gotham Cemetery.” He mumbles. He stands up and walks towards it.
“Is he himself?” Gordon turns to the two who shrug.
—
Batman enters the cemetery and walks past the stone statues. He moves like a black phantom through out the grounds until he stops in front of what was supposed to be a fresh grave. Red Robin and Spoiler approach and stop themselves.
“What happened?” She questions. Vines and purple flowers grown from the grave and have consumed it. The casket is in the heart of the greenery and is split open. And no body inside.
Batman turned to the two, before worry took over his masked features. “Has anyone spoke to Nightwing tonight?”
“Not since the afternoon, he said he was patrolling the East End tonight.” Red Robin replied.
“You think Y/n did this?” Spoiler looked back at the grave and back to Batman who was practically running towards the entrance.
“Alfred I need to find Nightwing he’s not answering his com links.” The Batmobile came to a roaring stop at the cemetery gates and Batman hopped inside before racing down the street.
“I’m afraid I haven’t been able to locate him Sir. His tracker when down two hours ago.” He sighed.
Batman gripped the steering wheel.”Any last know location.”
“Allow me to check,”Alfred typed a few keys before giving him the last location,”Robinson Park Sir, the Botanical Gardens.” The Batmobile raced and roar onto Pioneer Bridge towards the other part of the city.
——
One man stumbles and falls down a few stairs and coughs. As he runs down a hallway into a warehouse.
“Please have Mercy!” He cries as he ducks behind a crate.
“Mercy,I’ll show you mercy.” A voice boomed in the dark room. The man cowered in fear before he flew back from his hiding spot and was carried up fifty feet in the air. He was wrapped in an oversized vine and was being constrained.
Y/n moved into his view ontop of an another vine and smirked. He had his arm resting on his knee and leaned forward towards the man’s face.
“So sad isn’t it. We take for granted the gifts Mother Nature can offer us,” he plucks a maroon flower from his vine that looks between a cross of a tulip and rose. He twirled the flower and looked back at the man. Before smirking.
“So tell me Wilson, where can I find the scientist?” Before the man could reply Y/n blow on the flower and black particles landed on his face. He started to cough and scream in pain.
“He’s meeting the Boss I don’t know who but he’s meeting him Chinatown. PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!” He screamed in terror before a massive coughing fit and his limbs go limp.
Y/n lowers himself down and allows the vines to drop the body with a loud crack. Nightwing stood a few feet from where the man landed. He stare at him for a while before Y/n came into his view.
“Where are we going?” Y/n placed a kiss to his cheek. Y/n took his leave with Dick in tow.
“To make one more stop.”
——
Batman crashed through the same skyline Nightwing had to find the place abandoned. He took a look around with a flashlight.
He came to a makeshift bed and found the same leaves Red Robin gave him.
He turned on his scanner and turned the leave over. “Alfred identify and breakdown these leaves basic components.”
“Right away Sir. These two leaves have the same trace amount of pheromones. The scanners indicate they are of a stronger concentration. The combination is similar to the lab where Nightwing and is team were a few nights ago.”
Batman turned and looked at the ground. He found a WingDing and a remnant of a sleep dart. The same Nightwing gauntlet. “Nightwing must of found Y/n and tried to stop him.”
Alfred hummed, “Do you think he killed Master Richard.”
Batman kneeled down a traced his finger to find them covered in a green dust. “Unlikely, what happened to him he still cares for Dick.” He stood up and grappled out of the greenhouse. He glides down to the street and gets back into the Batmobile.
“The attack on Y/n in the lab must of caused a biological shock and rewrite his DNA the same way it did Ivy. But what I can figure out is what’s motivate?” He began to drive before another call rang.
“It’s Ms Gordon I’ll patch her through.” Soon the ringing stopped and Barbara’s voice filled the car.
“Batman we found two bodies.”
“Where?”
“One at the Stacked Deck an hour ago Red Hood is on the scene with Bullock. And another at a warehouse at Dixon Docks,Batgirl is there with Robin now.”
“My word, Sir my analysis is completed. There is another drug mixed in that was scanned at the fire. It’s a drug called Tomgenalixe. It’s a substance used in modern day Hallucinogens and can be used to create mind altering effects.”
“Mind Control.” Batman and Oracle reply.
“So Y/n isn’t just killing people for fun, he’s been controlled too.” Oracle took a deep sigh.
Batman gripped the steering wheel.”We need to find them. Alfred can you track Y/n’s pheromones?”
Alfred typed at the Batcomputer. “Sir his tracking is leading to the Diamond District.”
Batman raced back towards the highway. “Oracle take the components of the drugs and chemicals and synthesize and antitoxin. Have someone bring it to me. Alfred, have Red Robin and Spoiler meet me at my location.”
“Working on it, I’ll have Red Hood and Batgirl pick up the antioxins as soon as it ready.” Oracle signed off.
“Sir, when you arrive what will you do?”
Batman didn’t answer as thunder crashed across the night sky.
“I’m going to save them.”
———-
“Where’s my cut?” The scientist hissed at the man in a chair turned away from him.
The man chuckled. “Your cut, you were supposed to bring me a new drug. You burned your research. I can’t get any of that funding back, and now Lex Luthor has questions about fire you caused.” The man stood before as Black Man rises from his seat and the scientist cowers.
“I’m—“ SMACK
“You little runt, you work for me and you’ll get paid when the fuck I say so.” He snarled. He grabbed a wad of cash from his pocket and threw it at him.
“Now get back and figure out the poison, you still have the plant woman in holding?”
“Yes, she’s secure downstairs.” He took the cash. But before he could leave he was kicked square in the jaw and crumbled to the floor.
Black Mask turns to see Nightwing giving his a death stare. “What brings you here?”
The doors burst open with three of his goons with green glowing eyes and Y/n strolling behind them.
“I’m here for a little payback.” Y/n smirked. He outstretched his arm and vines bursts from the floor and tied up Black Mask.
“You crazy bitch I’ll kill you.” Y/n yawned. “Boys take care of him,” he turned to the scientist. “I think you have someone who doesn’t belong to you, don’t worry I’ll kill you when this over just like I did you henchmen.”
“Boss!” The large man who had did most of the damage to Y/n emerged through another door. Nightwing sprang into action and brutal fought him. It didn’t take long before he hit the ground hard.
Y/n crossed the room and stood over the dazed man.
“Remember it’s nothing personal.” Y/n dropped seeds into his gapped open mouth and vines and flower rapidly grew from his mouth and stomach.
“That’s sick.” Black Mask gagged before getting punch by Nightwing.
Y/n nodded and then two armed guards took Black Mask away. The other waiting for them and Nightwing grabbed the Scientist.
“Let’s go.” He barked. Y/n and the other guard followed him. The arrived in a basement that was like a huge underground bunker.
They ventured until the came to a catwalk and bellow was a cell in center with Ivy unconscious.
“Well it seems you’ve severed your purpose.” Y/n turned to the man that uttered the order to kill him and before he could grab him a Batarang nearly took his hand off.
Batman leaped down and glared at the group.”That’s enough, you’ve taken to many lives tonight I won’t let you take more Y/n. This isn’t you.”
Y/n pursed his lips and brief a chuckle. “What do you know about Y/n?” Batman eyed down below and saw Ivy talking almost as a puppet.
“Ivy, you’ve been controlling him from the start.”
Ivy/Y/n chuckled. “I can’t take all the credit you seen when they turned Y/n into this new and improved version of himself. We form a connection, and the more his powers grew—“
“The greater your control became.” Batman finished. Ivy chuckled in her cell.
“He makes a fine successor, does need some weeding but no matter he’ll do fine to kill you.” Y/n caused two large vines to sprout beside Batman who leaped down and landed on his feet. He cartwheel out the way of a shock from Nightwing.
“I know you can hear me, don’t make me have to put down.” Nightwing smirked,”Come and try.” He lunged at Batman and the two attacked and blocked each others moves.
Red Robin and Spoiler crashed the room and took out the guard and Spoiler went after Y/n to jumped onto a moving vine.
“Y/n snap out of it you’re still in there.” She pleaded. Y/n formed another overgrown plant to seat her away like fly. He caused a giant Venus Flytrap to sprout and it held him in place.
“This will be your tomb.” He laughed wickedly.
——
Black Mask stood ontop of the building with rifles at his head.
“Jump.” One order. He moved his leg out to jump before he heard gunfire and the sounds of punches. He nervously turned to see Red Hood and Batgirl.
“I’m saved—“ he was lassoed by Batgirl who tied him to a pipe. Before following Red Hood into the building.
“Hell let me Go!”
—-
Nightwing kicked Batman in the chest sending him stumbling.
Red Robin back flipped out the way of a vine nearly crushing him.
“Give up.” Ivy hissed.
Red Hood and Batgirl arrived. Batgirl grabbed a vine and began to run up it to Y/n and Red Hood leaped down and fired a few rounds at Nightwing which distracted him long enough for Batman to land a punch.
He stagger and when to fight him some more giving Red Hood the chance to fire a dart the hit Nightwing in the neck. He growled before he slowly turned and fell into Batman’s arms going limp.
Batgirl managed to get a clear shot and injected Y/n with large dose. He felt tired fell onto the catwalk, Red Robin check on him before injecting an orange liquid into Y/n arm.
“This will break the connection to Ivy.”
Ivy screamed in pain like a part of her had been stabbed. “You’re going to Arkham.” Batman stood before her and she was about to shout before green mist filled her cell and she collapsed.
“Hey Oracle whip up something for her too.” Batgirl chimed in.
Batman grinned and turned to Nightwing and sighed.
———-
Y/n felt like everything that happened was a fever dream. Killing them men that assaulted him, rising from the dead like an uprooted carrot and his finale fight with the Batfamily.
He sat up with an instant migraine. He rubbed his temples from the bright lights and turned to the side to see a shadow.
“Where am I?” His voice was hoarse and scratchy.
“You’re in Arkham.” Batman sighed and came into the light of the cell.
Y/n took in his surroundings and it was in a cell in Arkham. He was also in hospital gown with a collar around his neck.
“So I’m in jail?” He raised a brow the Dark Knight. Batman took a stance at the foot of the bed.
“Not exactly, what do you remember?” His voice was full of concern and worry. Not the same voice typical of Batman.
Y/n rubbed his temples for a brief movement. “I remember the taxi driver…I vaguely remember two officers and then everything went black. Did I hurt them?”
“They’re dead. Poison Ivy took control over your mind after you transition into a meta-human.”
Y/n felt all the air suck of his lungs. “You’re here because I know you’ll be under careful observation,” he lifted his gaze to the ceiling and Y/n followed. Vents were overhead them.
“This cell is constantly being pumped with an antitoxin that helps with the more advanced powers. It won’t rid them completely but you’ll be in control.” He walked closer to the doors.
“You should be in for a few more days, once that finished I’ll come get you myself. Gordon has already dropped any charges and no one knows Y/n L/N was the new Poison Ivy.”
“Did I hurt him?”
“I don’t know what your—“
“Damnit yes you do. I know I didn’t just kill two people. I hope I can..live with that. But did I hurt him?” Tears formed in the young man’s eyes and streamed down his face.
“No.” Batman whispered.
“Oh.” He wiped his face. “Can I see him?”
“I can’t allow that, you didn’t hurt him but Ivy used your feelings for him to make into your mind-controlled bodyguard. You killed people Y/n…He’s still recovering in the cave. Y/n it may be best to give it time.” Batman exited the cell where Gordon was waiting and the two walked away into the Asylum.
Everything began to flash before Y/n and he flopped back on the uncomfortable cot. Before sleep took him back and he dozed off.

When they looked, they saw a crying child with little bit blood on their face , they asked “why are they crying?are you hurt?” or “ are you okey? What happened?”
The child pointed at darkest corners of the alley. they looked where the child was pointing at, they saw two of the parents died
in the same manner like Batman backstory , when the child look up at them still crying , they lift their arms and said “ c-can I-i *sob*have a-a hug?*sob* p-please”
How would the batfamily react? Or what to do to calm the child reader
Oh my poor reader... Bruce would jump in immediately.
Summary: Bruce sees a child in a similar situation like he did many years ago.
Warnings: murder, corpses, Bruce sees himself in (Y/N), protective batboys.
This is an important mission. They have been preparing for this mission for months on end. Endless intel, interrogations, surveilling, scouting the buildings, research on the important members... The entire family was on the verge of killing someone.
Even Bruce was ready to commit murder, despite the strong moral code and despite his self control. They were stretched thin and the moral of the team was down. Bruce didn't think it could ever get so low.
This a breaking low. But none the less, they have persevered and through some teamwork, they got the intel that they needed. That's why they were on the roof top, waiting for a perfect moment to strike. Bruce was ready.
Everyone was tense and waiting in the darkness of the roof top, watching and waiting. Bruce was perched over the edge, ready to go at the moment's notice.
He looked back when he heard gunshots. The others were ready to jump, but Bruce stopped them. It felt off. Bruce looked down and saw it was their target. And a small shadow running. Bruce jumped, knocking the criminal out.
The others spread out, going to the building to check the location out. According to the intel they gathered, the drugs they had been looking for should be here.
Bruce moved into the dark alley listening for any sounds. What he didn't expect to hear was crying. And it didn't sound like it's an adult crying. It sounded like a child crying.
And he was proven right when he saw a child, shaking and sobbing. Bruce could see some blood on his face.
" Hey, are you okay? " Bruce asked softly, trying to see if the child was hurt. The child pointed at the dark corner and Bruce was hesitant at first. He thought that he was going to stop breathing when he saw the dead parents.
They were shot in the chest, one each. It felt all too familiar. Bruce's breath hitched for a moment. This was just like him, all those years ago. He closed his eyes and he calmed down. There was a child that needed him.
He walked back and the child cried harder. He put his hands, flexing his little finger. " Please, I- I need a h-hug, I-I'm scared... "
Bruce picked him out without a word, putting the child's head in the crook of his neck, just to make sure he didn't see anything. He gently patted his back.
" What's your name? " Batman asked, walking towards his sons.
" (Y/N). " The child mumbled, clutching onto Bruce tightly.
Everyone stopped in their tracks when they saw Bruce holding a child. Everyone wanted to ask questions, but they saw that it wasn't the time. They saw that child was under a lot of stress and Bruce softly shook his head.
It was a clear sign of not now. Everyone understood what it meant and they understood that something happened. But it seemed like (Y/N) wasn't hurt.
At least one good thing tonight. If you exclude the drugs and the drug ring they brought down.
" We called Gordon, he is on his way. " Dick said softly, walking up to the child. (Y/N) was still crying, but not as hard as before. He was crying quietly.
Bruce was torn. Does he adopt him? Does he put him at a foster home? What does he do?
One thing was for sure. There wouldn't be any help in the foster home. Or even the orphanage. Wherever he went tonight.
The others knew that sooner or later, Bruce was going to adopt him. Emphasis on the sooner. Maybe even tonight.

It’s About Time
Ed Nygma/The Riddler x Reader
Prompt: Ed offers to help you with time management when you tell him you’re stressed at work. Your conversation is interrupted by an attack on the GCPD by the Maniax.
Warnings: Mentions of murder, cannibalism, r*pists, abuse, and general graphic violence. Gotham typical violence. Mental health struggles. Sensory issues and meltdowns common with autism. Panic. Near death experiences. Claustrophobia. References to being buried alive. Nightmares.
A/N: I’m rewatching Gotham and I didn’t realize the missed potential for hurt/comfort the first time I watched this show 7 years ago. My work load has been really heavy lately, but this show broke me out of my writers block and I made time for the writing bug. This takes place in the middle of Ed’s Riddler arc. He hasn’t fully become the Riddler yet, but he has already made his first kill. The reader has qualities of an autistic person, but is not explicitly said to be autistic. I accidentally code a lot of my characters to be autistic because I am, but this was more intentional to reflect Ed’s autistic coding. Feel free to read into it or not! You don’t have to be autistic to read and hopefully enjoy this! Crossposted on my AO3 adriansglasses.
“I’ve been so stressed lately.” You sigh. “It’s like I can’t get anything done that I actually need to get done.” You stand in the hallway of the precinct talking to your friend Ed. You were stressing about this case and Jim Gordon was making you go through hundreds of old files for him. You were never part of the real action, but the horrifying crime scene photos and evidence you had to pull through everyday was taking a toll on you. Gordon’s time crunches never helped either. You understood that lives were often on the line, but that didn’t make it any easier.
“What can some people never get enough of and others say is too much? What has the ability to fly when having fun or is stuck completely frozen when you need it to move?” He smiles. You stare at him blankly. You had not been getting enough sleep. You loved hearing his riddles, but you were never the best at giving him the answers. It was so hard for your mind to keep track of it all. “Do you give up?” He asks.
“My brain just isn’t braining right now.” You laugh. “What’s the answer?”
“Time.” He beams, happy with himself. “You should try to implement a better time management plan. You look tired all the time. It’s like you’re not even sleeping.”
“Thanks, Ed.” You give a dry laugh.
“You know what I mean.” You nod in an agreement with him. “You might be the only person who usually knows what I mean.” He says, fiddling with his fingers and the buttons on his coat.
He was right. Nobody quite seemed to get him, but nobody quite seemed to get you either. You had always felt this odd draw to him that you could never quite explain. Truthfully you think you have feelings for him, but you always bury them. He saw you as a friend and he really needed a friend. Besides he had been pinning over Kristen since before you even got to the precinct. You had mixed feelings towards her. On one hand you felt bad for her. She was always getting mixed up with shitty boyfriends who treated her poorly, but on the other hand she had a mean streak. You never liked how she treated Ed. It was like he wasn’t a person with feelings to her and that made you so angry.
“You’re right. I haven’t been sleeping.” You tell him.
“Why is that?” He asks.
“We live in Gotham. With the terrifying shit we see everyday, I don’t know how anyone sleeps.”
“Are you having nightmares again?” He asks, his face painted with concern.
“It’s fine. It’s just work stress. It’s just this case. I’m fine.” You smile. It wasn’t a real smile. Your smiles always came so naturally around Ed that he knew something was off. He was about to press when you heard gunshots coming from down the hall. Your body immediately froze like a dear in headlights in the middle of the hallway.
You’ve had violent people in the precinct before and it always made you nervous, but this was different. The Maniax were on the loose and you knew they were too unhinged to care about survivors or bargains. With Jerome Valeska at the helm, along side cannibals, rapists, and murderers you were terrified. They’d escaped from Arkham days ago and already managed to murder dozens of people. This was far too close to the action for you, as you heard Jerome’s laugh bellowing down the hall from the bullpen; a laugh you remembered from one of your early cases at the precinct. You had felt bad for him and tried to help him when his mother died. You will never forget the laugh he let out when Jim realized he wasn’t as innocent as you’d thought. It ran a chill through your spine.
Everything started moving too fast when you realized you were being pulled down the hall quickly. Once you realized you were holding hands, you tightly grasped Ed’s hand, not wanting to be separated from him. He brings you further down the hall into the ME’s lab.
“W-where are we going?” You stutter. It’s like your mouth can’t keep up with your racing mind.
“Do you trust me?” He looks at you trying to stay calm.
“Ed, what are you doing?” You’re panicking. He can tell. It’s not hard to tell, as your hands fidget and your breathing is heavy. You’re trying to stay calm.
“(Y/N), I need you to trust me.” He places his hands on your shoulders in an effort to ground you with the pressure. You close your eyes and nod, hesitantly. You do trust him.
Ed runs to the cold lockers and opens one, checking to see if it’s empty. He finds a dead body inside. You cringe. Seeing bodies is rare for you and you’re still getting used to it.
“Oh dear… okay… second times the charm…” He mumbles to himself trying to find an empty locker. “Bingo!” He smiles, finding an empty one. The wheels start to turn in your head.
“No! I’m not getting in there!” Your panic increases. Ed shushes you.
“This is our best chance. I promise I’ll let you out as soon as I can.”
“We won’t be together?” Your eyes start to burn. You try to keep back tears. You’re shaking.
“We won’t both fit in the same one. I’m gonna go in the one above you-“
“No no please I- I don’t wanna be by myself! Please don’t leave me!” You cut him off and beg him. Ed awkwardly rubs his thumbs across your shoulders where he places his hands again, still trying to ground you. It’s awkward, but it’s still somewhat calming.
“I’m not leaving you. I would never leave you. I’ll be right next to you the whole time. I promise. I need you to trust me.” You’re not sure if it’s because it’s life or death, or if it’s because it’s Ed, but you reluctantly let him help your shaking body into the mortuary cabinet. When it comes time to let go of his hand and close the cabinet, you don’t want to. Despite quickly running out of time, he knows he needs to be patient. He knows how hard this is for you. He’s always known you’re a bit claustrophobic. He had no idea one of your worst fears was being buried alive. Being stuck in a cold locker wasn’t too far from either of those things. He can hear footsteps far down the hall. The Maniax were never subtle. He kisses the hand he’s holding quickly before closing your locker and climbing into his own. You were surprised by the kiss, but you couldn’t think about that right now and what it could have meant. Your mind couldn’t keep up. He had to leave his own locker unlocked, unable to properly close it from the inside, but he locked yours to make it look more convincing.
When Ed heard you cry, he began to whisper, hoping he could be loud enough for you to hear, but quiet enough for the Maniax to not notice. “It’s okay, (Y/N). I’m still here.” It was enough to quiet your sobs. Tears silently streamed down your cheeks. Ed’s voice had a certain gentleness to it when he spoke to you. He was being especially gentle now. You had seen him angry, upset, anxious, energetic, but his calm voice was reserved for you. Even in this moment when he was admittedly not very calm, he was trying his best to mask his own fears to keep you safe.
You always reserved parts of yourself for each other; parts of yourselves that the other person enabled you to be. You were never as bold as you wanted to be, but when people were rude to Ed you stuck up for him. He brought out a more confident version of you. For Ed, he knew you struggled with staying calm when you were stressed, upset, anxious or scared, even when you were happy. All of your emotions were so big and you rarely knew how to contain them. He tried to stay calm because he knew you saw him as a calming person in your life. He liked being your hero when everyone else only saw him as a weak, odd, nuisance. He also liked that he could read you and that you were honest with him. He trusted you and it helped keep the voice in his head at bay. He didn’t have to question himself with you. He didn’t have to take advice from the voice in his head.
You tried to keep your meltdown as quiet as possible when you heard footsteps approach. They were heavy, not ones you recognized. You knew it had to be one of the Maniax, probably the cannibal. You tried to make your breath as quiet as possible. After what you assume was a poor sweep of the room, the man leaves.
After what seems like hours of being trapped in a corpse you finally hear sirens and then chatter. You hear Ed climb out of the locker above you. He opens your locker and you let out an audible sob.
“I think they’ve gone.” He says, pulling out the drawer to let your body get some much needed air. You start gasping and sobbing, shaking on the drawer of the mortuary cabinet. Your body jolts up. You just want to get away from the locker.
“You’re okay! You’re okay!” Ed catches your body, as your start to fall from the drawer to the floor. You sit on the floor and cling to him, sobbing. At first awkward, he runs his hand along your back, trying to sooth you with the repetitive motion.
“I felt like I was dead- like- like I was gonna get buried alive-“ You gasp for air, sobbing between your words. Ed shushes you.
“We’re okay. They’re gone.” He promises.
You hear fast approaching footsteps. Your brain is moving too fast to decide if the footsteps are familiar or not. You just bury yourself further into Ed’s chest.
“Detective Gordon is here.” He informs you and you relax only slightly.
“Nygma, are they okay?” Jim asks.
“No mortal wounds, they’re just a bit shaken up.” He lets him know.
“You two should probably still get checked out. I need to finish scanning the building for everyone else. So far we’ve got 9 cops dead in the bullpen and… and the commissioner is dead.” He says. It’s almost like you hear Jim, but you don’t. Your mind can’t keep up with anything that’s happening.
After a while you find yourself sitting, waiting for Lee to check you out. Ed had been pulled away for a few minutes to do his job. He didn’t want to leave you, but you assured him you were fine. You didn’t feel fine, but you knew they needed him. As long as you could see him on the other side of the bullpen, you were reluctant, but okay with him stepping away. He left his jacket draped around your shoulders. It helped to be surround by his smell and warmth.
When it was time to go home, Ed guided you to his car. You hadn’t spoken much, but at least you’d finally stopped crying. The car ride was quiet. The only thing that filled the air was Ed’s occasional hum with the radio. Neither of you quite knew what to say. It was a bit ironic considering usually nobody could ever get you two to shut up. You didn’t speak up until he turned onto your street.
“I don’t want to go home.” You said quietly, feeling the panic rise again at the thought of being alone at home again.
“That’s understandable. Would you like to stay at my place?” He asks. You nod, silently. He flicks his turn signal and starts the drive to his place.
“Welcome to Château Nygma.” He smiles, turning on the light. You still have his jacket wrapped around your shoulders. Despite the terror you’ve been through today, his smile is refreshing. You don’t question how he can stay so seemingly sane in times like these, but you’re just glad somebody is. You need that. Maybe you should have questioned it, but you didn’t. He has a nice apartment. It’s not too big. Why would it be for a man who lived by himself? It’s just the right size with cool windows and a comfortable setup.
“Do you want something to eat? I’m a good cook.” He smiles. You don’t know how he can continue to smile, but you’re glad. It starts to make you feel safer. It’s nice to be in a locked apartment with just you and Ed. It’s nice to be in a quiet, secluded place, but not feel alone. It’s far better than sitting on your bed, scared of any serial killers that could be hiding underneath the frame and jumping at any people you hear in the stairwell of your apartment, with an open case file sitting next to you, worried the killers you’re reading about could be onto you any second. Today was a very close call. Too close.
“If you’re not sure, that’s okay too.” He continues, noticing you’re deep in thought.
“Oh…uh yeah… I’m not sure what I want… It’s like my body needs things, but I’m just a little bit too overwhelmed to figure it out.” You look down, shyly.
“Do you want to just sit? I can put on some music?” He questions referencing the record player with his hands.
“That sounds okay. I think I can do that.” You nod. He puts on some quiet music, not too loud to overstimulate you and you make your way to the couch. He brings you a glass of water.
“I can imagine it might be hard for you to have an appetite given your increased levels of adrenaline today, but you should at least drink this.” You take the water from him and begin to sip it. You didn’t realize how nice cold water could feel. You drink it quickly, before setting the glass down.
“Thank you.”
Ed sits down and you gravitate towards him.
“How do you do it?” You ask.
“How do I do what?” He looks for clarification.
“Your job. There’s so much death everywhere.”
“I don’t know. I just sort of do. Honestly I think it’s fascinating…” He pauses, looking away from you. “Sorry. That probably sounds weird.”
“It does, but that’s okay. I like the fact that you’re different and you’re honest. It’s comforting. You’re a better man than all of those crooked cops walking around beating up women and mobsters alike.”
“You think so?” He asks.
“Yeah, I do.” You smile. This time it’s a real smile. Ed smiles too. It’s nice to know after everything he’s done for you to make you comfortable, you can say something to make him feel better.
“I’m sorry all of this has been so awful for you.” He says.
“I know we’re doing good and it’s important to do good in a world of so much bad, but sometimes I just wish nobody had to do it. I can’t even fathom what would make somebody what kill another person. Maybe out of necessity, but it scares me that people actually enjoy it.”
“Yeah.” Ed shifts uncomfortably. You think he must agree with you and that’s why he’s unconformable. You don’t know that he killed Officer Doherty for abusing Kristen just over a month ago.
The two of you talk for quite some time until you end up falling asleep next to him on the couch. He doesn’t mind when you fall into his lap. He lets you sleep, smiling down at you. He didn’t dare move. He didn’t want to wake you. He was afraid of breathing too deeply and shifting too much underneath you. He eventually falls asleep sitting up with you still in his lap.
Everything is peaceful until you shoot up screaming, in a cold sweat. You’ve had another nightmare. This time is different. You’re disoriented. You don’t know where you are. You feel hands touching you.
“(Y/N), it’s me! It’s Ed! You had another nightmare.” You look at his face to see him distraught, unsure of what to do. Your tossing and turning had woken him up. He was awake only seconds before you.
Your eyes begin to well with tears. “I just want it to stop. When will all of this stop?” You cry.
“When will what stop?” He asks.
“Everything! I just want to stop feeling like this. I want to stop being afraid. I should be used to the job by now.”
“Maybe you just need more time to get used to it! I know we talked about time management earlier. I can help you with your schedule.” He offers.
“I don’t want to manage my time. I just want it to freeze. I just wish time would freeze so I could just breathe and catch up!”
Ed looks at you defeated. He doesn’t know what to say. He likes riddles because riddles always have answers. He doesn’t know what to do when there’s a problem with no solution.
“I’m sorry.” He settles with saying. “Would a hug help?” He’s just grasping at anything he’s seen people do when trying to comfort other people with problems and no solutions.
“Yes.” You say quietly, burying your head in his chest. Despite being the one to offer the hug, he’s a little awkward at first. He eventually settles in.
“Is this helping?” He asks.
“Yes.” You tell him. Of course, Ed being who he is, even now he’s still looking for a solution. He doesn’t realize he may be the solution, or at least someone to help make the problem smaller. “You always help.” You add.
“I’m sure most of our coworkers would disagree.” He laughs.
“I never thanked you for earlier today.” You say quietly.
“It was nothing.” He smiles.
“No, Ed. Keeping me safe in a life or death situation isn’t nothing.”
“I’m sure anyone would have done it.” He argues.
“No, they wouldn’t have.” You tell him.
“I’ll always protect you.” He pulls you closer, shifting awkwardly underneath you. “You know… my apartment is always open if you want to sleep with me- I- I mean sleep with me in attendance- I- I mean sleep with each other- I- I mean near each other- you know! In case you have nightmares!”
“I might just have to take you up on that. This is the first night I’ve felt okay enough to be able to maybe go back to sleep afterwards.” You smile, trying not to laugh. You don’t want him to think you’re making fun of him. Truthfully you think he’s sweet and funny.
“You should go back to sleep and since I didn’t get to make you dinner I’ll be making you the best breakfast of your life tomorrow.” He beams.
“You better.” You snuggle into him. Ed is too awkward to suggest you go lay in his bed tonight and you’re too tired to care. You spend the rest of the night on the couch together. You can save the bed for tomorrow night. You know when you wake up in the morning you’ll be coming back. It was the most sleep you’ve gotten in weeks.
Ed wakes up before you and sneaks off the couch to start breakfast. He truthfully was a very good cook. His own sensory issues with food made him very particular about how it’s prepared. You wake up to the smell of something good in the oven. Ed is nowhere to be seen, but you hear him in the bathroom. He’s talking. You knew he often talked to himself, but he sounded like he was talking to someone else. Maybe he was on the phone. You were sure you were hearing one half of a conversation.
“I told you we could trust them. They like me for me. They think I’m a good man.”

Fresh Blood Part 2
Aaron Hotchner x fem!reader
Criminal Minds x Supernatural
Summary: Maybe your recovery was a bigger challenge for Hotch than it was for you.
Content Warning: Violence Explanation and a Worried Hotchner.
“Hotch.” A firm voice called from the door for the BAU leader.
Hotch turned his sight just to look at Rossi’s worried face. He got closer to embrace you into a strong hug, but quickly returned at the door waiting for Hotch.
“Hey, how are you feeling?”
“Soon to be engaged.”
“What?” Rossi asked with confusion.
Hotch left the room at the right time, following Rossi’s steps down the hall.
“Do we have something new?”
“Her parents are on the way, they want to thank you.”
“For what?”
“You have to be kidding Hotch, you saved her daughter’s life, you realized first than anyone that she was missing.”
“And JJ”
“Yeah, but JJ didn’t shove transit rules down her ass just to get to her.” Rossi’s exasperation got the best of him earning Hotch’s severe look. “I can see you care.”
“She’s my agent, of course, I care.”
“Not like that, and I don’t mean to meddle in your business, but maybe after this, you should let yourself be happy, 'cause I can tell she cares too” Aaron furrowed his eyebrows.
“We’re not talking about that, Do we know something about her attacker?” Rossi sighed, feeling defeated.
“According to her father, Gordon is a hunter, great skills, but with questionable morals, and a few months ago he had an argument with a close friend leading him to prison, he thinks her daughter got caught in the middle of all.”
“I disagree, she said someone was in danger and she had to let them know.”
“He was looking for something?”
“Possibly” Rossi nodded while reaching for his phone in his suit jacket pocket. “I’ll stay with her and try to get as much information as I can, you can leave with the team.”
“She’s giving you that much of a hard time?”
“You are welcome to try and do it better.”
Both gentlemen walked straight into your room, finding you whispering into the phone.
“I’m fine, just a little dizzy, and at this point I don’t know if it is the concussion or the medicine cocktail.” You said ignoring the older man standing at your door. “No, Sammy, just promise me you’ll take precautions.”
When you finally looked up at the questioning eyes staring, you let out a little yelp immediately hanging up the phone.
“Hi, Dave!” You eagerly greeted.
“Hey, feeling better?” You nodded. “I’m glad, you really scared us. We just wanted to know if you have something to tell us.”
“Yeah! Did you know that you cannot spell Hotchner without Hot?” You asked with a confident smile while moving your eyebrows up and down. “I personally think that maybe that's indicative of who’s the hottest on the team.”
Rossi sent a questioning but funny look at you, but in your medicine-filled mind, you weren’t sure if you said something wrong or if he was offended by you not finding him the hottest. Hotch just didn’t know how to act, so he caught your attention by placing a hand on your shoulder.
“Don’t tell Morgan, he gets insufferable when you say he's not your type.”
“She’s on strong meds.” Hotch assured while Rossi was trying to hide his big smile. “What David meant was, if you remember something of the man who hurt you.”
“He said I was stubborn.” You shook your head in disapproval. “Rude, really rude.”
Maybe you deflected their questions many times or maybe your snarky comments had them tired, but Rossi left the room leaving you alone with Hotch, he didn’t pressure you into telling him the truth anymore, but after the medication started to leave your body, the reality punched you in the face, so it was inevitable to begin to cooperate with him.
“Thank you for saving my life.” You said.
“What did he want?”
“Information I couldn’t give him”
“Would you tell me exactly what happened?”
An uncomfortable silence made a presence in the room, but you didn’t lose Hotch’s attention, not even for a second. You shifted on the bed trying to make yourself comfortable.
You shrugged your shoulders. “I don’t know, he managed to distract me, I should’ve known the open window was bait.” You hid your face in your own hands for a moment but immediately composed yourself. “I fell right into it and he disarmed me.”
Hotch wanted to stop you, each word felt like being stabbed once again, but he needed to hear it so he could catch the guy.
“I woke up tied to the chair, and now I’m here, I’m so sorry.”
“That’s not your fault, you did everything you could.”
“No, I didn’t, that’s why I’m apologizing.” You closed your eyes not wanting to see Hotch’s disappointed look. “I had the information I could’ve given to him, I chose not to.”
Hotch shifted, getting closer to you. “Why did you do that?”
“Because someone’s life was at risk.”
“So was yours.” You opened your eyes lightly looking at him with sorrow and he sighed with tiredness. “Does it have to do anything with the person you were on the phone with?”
“Yeah, I had to warn them.”
“I get that” Hotch cleared his throat then placed one of his hands above yours. “I also want to apologize.”
“Wait, don’t do that thing.”
“That thing?”
“Yes, the thing that you do when someone in the team gets hurt and you take the blame.” He looked the other way and let a little chuckle leave his lips. “He was determined to find me either way, tomorrow, after tomorrow, next week. He is to blame, not you.”
“You do know me that well, huh?” You flashed him a big smile.
“I mean, you saved me, I owe you a big one, paperwork is on me, next case.” He returned his gaze to you with a stern look. “Wait, I am going to get back, right?”
“Yeah, after two weeks on leave and one on desk duty.”
“Ha! So I’m getting paperwork either way, awesome.”
A comfortable silence flooded the room and at some point, Hotch’s and your eyes found each other. Hotch squeezed your hand.
“Would you promise me to take care of yourself more than you take care of others?”
“Right back at you, Hotch.”
“We can discuss it over dinner, I do owe you one.”
You shook your head. “I know what you’re doing there, you don’t owe me anything, you saved my life, Aaron.”
“You’re so smart, huh?”
“Hey, I almost saw Coco people, and the nurse just refilled my medication cocktail, but I can detect self-inflicted guilt when I see it.”
“Would you say yes to dinner and listen to me for once?”
“No.” You made a sudden gesture with your hands, referencing your mind blowing. “I know, shocking, but if I say yes, you’re going to believe I blame you, and I don’t.”
He sent a little smile to you and leaned closer to kiss your forehead. “I’m going to catch him.”
“I know.”
~~~
On your two weeks leave, you almost went crazy, you didn’t know if it was your parents treating you like a child, the Winchesters calling every five minutes to apologize or the members of your team taking turns to check your apartment every night.
“So, let me get this right, He was so sure Sammy was going to become a monster but he became one in the process.”
“And the one he hated the most, a vampire.” Dean’s voice said in the other line.
“That´s what I call divine justice.” You said while shifting to get comfortable on your bed, Not that you ever left it, but trying different positions on the mattress was your only way to have fun recently. “Now we know who is not going to hunter’s heaven.”
“What’s with you and heaven and angels lately? We are not going anyway.”
“We? Speak for yourself, Dean.”
“I don't think they will let in somebody who shot me on the feet when I was ten.”
“It was a mistake and I was six! It was my first time with a gun.”
“Well, now we know how good you are with guns, maybe you need another masterclass from me.”
“Hey, I had no chance with Buffy the Vampire Slayer right there, I was asleep. You know I need at least one hour to process I'm awake.” Dean’s laughter echoed in your cell phone's speakerphone
“Yeah, about that. Sammy and I were talking and although we hope this never happens again, we want to ask you to never place our whereabouts over your own life.”
“You know that´s not happening De, I'm never going to betray you like that guys.”
“Can we at least come up with a believable lie, so you don't taunt a guy with a knife in his hand again?”
“That sounds reasonable.” You agreed, and after some noises on Dean’s behalf, you found out that Sam was also in the room. “Is that Sammy? Put him in the phone!.”
“Hmm, about that.” You tilted your head on your pillow waiting for Dean’s answer. “He thinks everything is his fault and doesn't want to talk,”
“You Winchesters are something else, I swear to God, put him in the phone, I don’t care that he doesn't want to talk because he knows I’ll tell him otherwise but he’s too busy punishing himself.” You hear some noise in the other line.
“Hi.” Sam’s shy voice came to your ears. “I'm really sorry.”
“What’s with all the men in my life blaming themselves for all my mistakes, I must be irresistible.” Sam chuckled a little. “It´s not your fault Sammy.”
“He hurt you because of me.”
“He hurt me because he was a horrible man, and now he’s never going to hurt me thanks to you.”
Now you need to deal with the “Disappearing” of your aggressor, the last time he left a trace was at your building when the security camera from your lobby caught him leaving. You knew the truth, but saying “No need to search for my aggressor, he turned into a vampire and then got the headless horseman treatment by the Winchester’s hand.” Wasn’t a normal thing to say, so you went along with the lies to your team and just let Hotch know there wasn’t a need for looking for him anymore.
~~~
You arrived at the building first hour on Monday morning, using crutches wasn’t your fashion choice, but it was mandatory for at least one more week by your Doctor. You limped your way to your office meeting with an excited Emily, a ready to hug you JJ, and a happy Penelope holding a cake, right in front of your door.
“Finally! My days of sneaking around to steal your snacks are over, welcome back!” JJ embraced you in a tight hug followed by a breathtaking hug from Emily.
“Hotch forbid us from your office.” Penelope shrugged her shoulders.
“He did?” The three girls nodded at the same time.
“We missed you a lot around here.” Emily said after letting you go. “Hotch was in such a horrible mood.” You rolled your eyes.
“Aww, missed you just as much, girls.” You said with a big smile on your face, but quickly eying them with suspicion. “Are my snack drawers empty?”
—-
After a warm welcome back from the team, and a quick trip to a different floor just to get the result of your psychological evaluation, at the end of your day, you found a man sitting on your chair waiting for you.
“Hotch?”
“Hey, I was waiting for you.”
“How did you know I was still in the building?”
“Well, one, I’m aware of everything that happens with my agents, and two, there was no way you would leave early.”
“You make me sound like a workaholic, and that’s you.” You accused while pointing your finger at him.
“Dear, you know the name of every security guard at every single shift change.” You’re not going to lie, the pet name made your heart beat faster.
“Oh oh, am I in trouble boss?”
“Not at all, I just thought that everyone welcomed you back with gifts but me, so I improvised my own way.”
“Oh my God, am I dreaming? please just pinch me to know.”
Hotch rolled his eyes blurting a chuckle while he placed a bag of food from your favorite restaurant on your desk. You were sure your favorite restaurant was your best-kept secret, and you were absolutely surprised when he placed your favorite dish in front of you.
“How did you know?”
“I have my ways.” He said placing the food containers around.
“Penelope? That’s cheating.”
“Nope.” Hotch looked at you while offering you the seat. “We are going to be here for a while, you know all that paperwork, we might as well do it with a full stomach.” He simply said wearing a big smile from you.
You smiled at him. “Yes, Sir.”
What you didn’t know was that you calling him that way, also shifted something for Hotch even though he refused to admit it.

"Scarecrow, Scarecrow"
◇ Pairing: Jonathan Crane X fem!Reader
◇ Warnings: smut, edging, riding, handjob, Jonathan Crane, straight jacket, kind of dubcon at first
◇ Summary: Jim Gordon and his colleague go to interrogate Jonathan Crane.
◇ Note: Sorry for the mistakes and the English.
You and your colleague Jim Gordon had been in that interrogation room for more than an hour, nothing had succeeded in making Doctor Crane speak, not even the time since he was still sitting in front of you tied in a straitjacket that kept his entire body immobile and it was getting kind of uncomfortable— you could tell.
Your eyes remained on the black haired man the entire time as you let Jim do the attempted interrogation— attempt because it wasn't working at all and it was starting to stress him out, you could see it and Crane could see it too.
That was the main reason because you leaned closer to him to whisper something in his ear, covering your mouth with your hand slightly so not to make anyone but Jim hear.
You could see out of the corner of your eye you had slightly caught the maniac's attention, making his icy gaze focus back on you even when Officer Gordon got up, leaving the room after whispering something back to you.
It was just you and Jonathan, no one else, the cameras weren't working and you knew it, you were in a room in Arkham Asylum so there were no walls for the people outside to see through— a decidedly sick decision to make.
Jonathan opened his mouth, licking slightly his pink lips
"I'm afraid I've never had the pleasure of meeting you before, Officer...." he said, his eyes trailing on your body and back to your face as he waited to know your name.
You got up from your chair and looked around the room, studying your surroundings while moving closer to him
"Jonathan Crane, huh? I attended a few of your lectures— I must say that they were quite interesting but it was hard to focus" you explained with a blank voice while thinking.
His eyes kept following you, his mouth opened to say something but quickly shut when you sat on his lap
"Let's make a deal, shall we?" You started, licking your lips
"I bet you are quite touch depraved since they locked you in this place so— I can give you what you need if you tell me what I want to know. How does it sound?" You asked softly, not letting him reply immediately just by placing your hand directly on his covered crotch, massaging it slowly while feeling his cock get hard and stiff under your hand.
His breaths came out more labored as you continued the movement of your hand, applying a little more pressure and then quickly moving from that position to lean on the table to admire him before speaking again
"What do you say, Dr. Crane?" you asked seeing his adam's apple bounce slightly as he gulped
"F-Fuck fine but don't stop" he begged quickly, making you hide a smirk.
You moved back on his lap and started to grinds slowly against him, asking him a few questions which received no response.
"This wasn't the deal, honey" you pushed him down on the table, freeing his hard leaking cock before grabbing it with your hand
"Mommy isn't in the mood to play so answer the questions like a good boy to receive your reward, yes?" you whispered against his ear, making him whine like a slut for you.
It took him a few seconds to be able to answer at your comment, too focused on your still warm hand on his rock-hard cock
"Yes— m-mommy, god, please. I will answer anything" he quickly assured you, moaning happily as your hand started to pleasure him, stroking his whole length— moving his foreskin to be able to touch the tip and make him squirm under you.
Jonathan was answering your questions, moving his hips as best he could to fuck your hand making you more aroused as the time passed.
You honestly weren't planning to go all the way with him but the situation was making your pussy ache for release and a big cock like his to fill you completely.
You could see that Johnathan was getting closer and closer to his peak, hearing just his loud moans followed by soft whimper and prays that got replaced by a loud whine when you removed your hand from him.
His piercing blue eyes that were closed quickly opened, staring at you in a desperate way as he tried to understand why you stopped just to groan even louder when your wet pussy made contact with his leaking, thrombing cock.
You started to move your hips slowly, grinding your clit against his V-line before positioning his dick at your entrance not bothering to put a condom on it— too lost in your wish of pleasure.
Your pussy swallowed him up, taking all his inches easily because of how wet it was; your head dropped back as your mouth let out a pornographic moan that made Jonathan whimper and his cock twitch inside of you.
It took just a few bounce and the view of your tits to make Dr. Crane reach his peak, his back arched in a delicious way as his mouth dropped, letting out loud moans just for you.
His icy blue eyes rolled back under his pretty eyelids and his messy hair got more stuck against his forehead because of his sweat.
Sadly for him as soon as you reached your climax, you got up not helping him reach his own— you had the informations you wanted but he had been a brat at the beginning of your interrogation so you decided that he didn't deserved his reward.
Jonathan wasn't happy about it, you could see it in his eyes and the way he was clenching his teeth making his jawline stand out even more.
You were probably doing a mistake that you would regret if he would ever escape from Arkham but you didn't care so you left, leaving Jonathan Crane, aka The Scarecrow, with blue balls— still tied with a straight jacket and his cock out.

The Butterfly Effect
Chpr 9
⚠️ Trigger Warning for whump and angst.
🧡💙🩵
John brought the space elevator to a smooth halt just above the caldera.
He wanted to get a birds-eye view of One before he touched down.
The elevator door opened, and the astronaut made a conscious effort to coordinate his limbs; the additional gravity about as welcome as a new Fischler Enterprise venture.
John cracked his joints.
"Alright. Time to fly."
The astronaut leapt from the elevator and his jetpack deployed.
*. *. *.
Kayo flailed midair.
There was no time to think, only feel.
Her stomach seemed to drop faster than terminal velocity.
Darkness was swallowing her as light flew from view.
A hand grasped her wrist.
"Kayo. Glad I caught you!"
"John!" Kayo gave an incredulous half-laugh.
"Am I glad to see you!"
"Hold on..."
John guided the two of them back to the relative safety of the poolside.
As soon as his boots touched the ground, Kayo wrapped her brother in a Virgil-esque hug.
"K-ay!"
Kayo indulged herself the human contact a moment longer, before the sound of a jet engine could be heard approaching the island.
"Protocol Phoenix."
John had practically exhaled the words. Relief and disbelief was etched in his features, as though he had forgotten that he himself had summoned them.
"Here. Help Scott."
John shed his jetpack and ran to meet the carrier approaching the beach.
With feline accuracy, Kayo caught the pack.
Hold on Scott, I'm coming.
*. *. *
"Scott? Scott? You with me?"
Scott stirred, his brain registering the noise, but not the name.
"Scott, it's Kayo. Come on, sleepy head, no snoozing on the job. Can you open your eyes for me?"
A muted moan rattled around his ribcage.
His head hurt.
He was vaguely aware of his eyelashes flickering. Jeez...the last time his head felt this bad, he'd sampled some of Gordon's homemade moonshine. The memory curdled his stomach and he whimpered.
"You're okay. You're okay. I'm with you."
Kayo's slender fingers were resting on his face...on grazed cheekbones. It didn't hurt, not really. Not compared to the other injuries his body sported; but there was something in the sensation that registered as uncomfortable; an invasion of personal space that had him pulling away from her touch.
"Scott, try not to move for me, okay? It's very important that we keep your neck and head still."
His eyes finally opened.
"There you are."
Kayo offered him a warm smile. A smile saturated in love and reassurance. A smile that told him that he was going to be okay.
"-ay?"
Eurgh, his mouth was dry.
"I've been called worse," her expression shrugged, but her hands remained steady.
"Head."
It hurt. He still didn't know why. Where were they? Building collapse?
"You've been in an accident."
"Air?"
"Air?" Kayo parroted.
"I'm not sure I follow. Your oxygen stats look good... Or do you mean you were flying in the air?"
"Wh-w-where?"
His lungs felt like they were out of sync from the other muscles it took to breathe.
"Oh! You're home Scott. Well, the pool...kinda."
Scott blinked at her.
"Not your finest landing."
Landing.
Like a circuit finally completed, the jigsaw fell in place.
He'd been fixing One's overhead locker when the call came in.
Some pot-holers had managed to get themselves wedged in a remote location and needed assistance.
Gordon and Alan were already out in Four, and Virgil was off rota, so; One was required to safely extract the group.
His mind had switched to rescue mode. Muscle memory fulfilling the required procedures to launch his Bird. Truth be told, he couldn't remember stashing the Toolbox he was using in the very locker he had been fixing, but his head injury attested to the fact that he had.
The mission proved to be a straightforward one. Honestly, the GDF could have taken it; but given the limited information they had to go on, they weren't to know.
With no visible injuries and paramedics having arrived on scene; Scott fired One, and headed home. It wasn't until she made the switch to horizontal flight that the toolbox had shifted. In any other locker it would have been fine, but...stupid is as stupid does. He'd shoved it in the faulty one.
...which promptly opened.
...allowing the contents to rain down on top of him.
Judging on colour alone; the wrench was the offending item that had clipped him. The grease rags had mercifully missed.
What happened next was all a bit of a blur.
All he could really remember was wanting to make it home to Virgil.
"Vir-gil?"
"We'll get to Virgil. Right now, you're my priority."
"Pri-rity?"
"Yes. John and the rest of Phoenix are heading to him now."
Scott felt his veins turn to ice.
"No, no, no... Virg-l!"
Kayo's hands were fussing around him.
He pushed the aid away. This was his fault.
He did this.
Kayo attempted to thwart his thrashing.
"Geroff me and help Vir-"
"Sco-"
"VIRGIL!"
"-Shut the hell up Scott and listen!"
Two cat-green eyes pinned him.
"One is compromised. You not listening endangers us both, get it? I'm not leaving you, so either you let me do my job, or we both die here."
Scott's brain cowered. She meant every word. Kayo, like the rest of them, was loyal to a fault. She wouldn't leave him.
Sensing his outburst had passed; Kayo began fastening the foam blocks around his head.
She was staring him dead in the face.
"Help is coming."
Now he understood. First responders make for the worst patients. Best he could do was to trust her.
"Okay."
"Good."
Kayo exhaled slowly.
“John's activated Protocol Phoenix. The carrier has already arrived and John's gone to meet them.”
Scott blinked groggily. If Protocol Phoenix had been activated, then this was an even bigger fuck-up than he'd first thought.
“Phoe-nix?”
“Yes Scott. We rise from the ashes.”
"God, that's cheesy."
"Attaboy. Now let's get out of here."

Many thanks to @janetm74 for her deeply moving and insightful story Grief: The Compass, and for putting up with my ramblings about the symbolism of Grandpa's compass and its meaning to Scott, as well as to Scott and Virgil going forward (especially after the revelations of Recharge). I had this little dream-like sequence in mind since the very early days of my return to TAG fandom as a intro to a larger story. Scott Tracy is, of course, very much not okay. It might not be obvious from the start, but it's true. He needs to find his way.
TRUE NORTH
The wind was ruffling early blossoms in the trees and his hair, as he jogged eagerly across the front yard to the farmhouse. Soft spring grass was tickling his bare feet. Mom was inside, he knew. He was so excited to see her.
The quiet hallway was filled with a soothing scent of cinamon and ripe late summer apples. Mom was probably in the kitchen, baking an apple pie. His favorite. He followed the wiffs of delicious smells, but the kitchen was empty. Each utensil in its place, exactly as Mom liked it. He needed to find Mom. The sense of urgency increased, as he passed the sunlit kitchen to the backdoor, out onto the porch and across the backyard. He shivered once, then twice, as a gust of vicious wind threw a handful of fallen leaves into his face. Golden and red, just like Mom's hair. Mom wasn't out back either and he was anxious now. On instinct, he followed the well-worn path to the meadow, stretching behind their old farmhouse in Kansas. Rough edges of pebbles dug into his feet so they were probably bleeding, but he kept going. He needed to find Mom!
His frantic paces came to a halt at the very edge of the meadow, though. As far as eye could see was cast in a swathe of pristine white. Snow. He knew deep down in his soul Mom was across that expanse of white. But he had no clue which way to go. Where to start. He stood at a loss, shivering, at the very edge of ice, licking his bare toes, the freezing numbness creeping up from the ground to his heart.
Then he remembered! Grandpa's old compass that Virgil made a point to give him for the duration of a rescue, would show the way. Ever since their heart to heart in the Arctic, Virgil would give him the compass before each mission so he would find his way home safely. Just like that day. He was home now, but Mom wasn't there. He dug into a pocket, and, sure enough, his fingers curled around a solid cool weight of the antique gadget. Grandpa's compass would show him the way to Mom! But something odd was happening. As soon as he opened the lid, the arrow went haywire, turning in place, never resting on any one point. Despair and exhaustion nearly choked him and his knees were ready to give. He couldn't get to Mom no matter how much he longed to! No matter how much he missed her!
He was about ready to step into the unforgiving snow and take his chances, when heavy hands landed on his shoulders, pinning him in place.
"It's not yet time, Bluejay!"
The husky whisper was close to his ear. Dad!
"It's too soon, kiddo! You have to let me go first. You can then follow in my footsteps, but not just yet! Not for a long, long time. How about we go home now, son, eh?"
He wanted to protest. Mom was there, all alone, across the field of snow. He could find her, even if the stupid compass was not helping! He needed to be with Mom! But the voice failed him, caught up on a blinding pain in his chest. Strong arms were already steering him back to face the farmhouse again.
Even from afar, he could see all his brothers standing on the back porch, watching him. Allie seemed so scared, baby blue eyes wide and full of tears, clutching the railing. Gordon was standing apart, hunched over, his face dark and lost - he appeared so small and so young. John was ghostly pale, his eyes a green sea of pain. Scott could swear his ginger brother was swaying with each gust of wind. But it was Virgil who made him gasp. Standing one step down the porch stairs, his best friend was glaring daggers at him - the always soft face contorted with fury and anguish, kind brown eyes brimming with liquid fire. What made Virgil so angry? Had he done something stupid? He hadn't lost Grandpa's Compass! Right! The Compass! He looked down at his hand, still clutching the brass shell, and the arrow had miraculously settled, pointing due North. At the center of the porch of their home. At Virgil.
He felt an insistent nudge to start moving, as the voice by his ear spoke again, soft, but urgent.
"Let's go home now, Bluejay! Just like that, one step at a time! Your brothers are waiting."
He tried once more to twist and catch the sight of Dad, but thought better of it as a sharp pain pierced through his torso again. He still needed to make it home and give Virgil back the compass, so Virgil wouldn't be so angry with him. So Virgil wouldn't go looking for him all the way by the desolate cold white meadow. He also needed to find out what made John so upset, and he certainly needed to hug the Tinies. He sneaked a peek at the compass again - it was pointing firmly Home.

Sunshine | D.G
Pairing: Dick Grayson X Fem!Reader
Summary: The caregiver becomes the care receiver.
Word Count: 2.0K
A/N: First time writing DC, hopefully this doesn’t suck.
If anyone took a look at him, they’d see nothing but a sun. The hot, blazing, and bright sun. There wasn’t a day that its light was blocked; despite the clouds coming to block the light, it still shined through, proving everyone wrong. It made her head tilt.
She was no master detective, but she wasn’t stupid either. He smiled with both sides of his mouth, never favoring one another. He held his head up high and shoulders perfectly rolled back. Even at meal times, he had perfect dining etiquette. She looked around the dinner table and saw the rest of his siblings eating comfortably.
Then it started getting foggier. His hair was frizzier than usual. His eyes were tinted red just the slightest bit. He was heavy on his feet. She sat in the cave with Tim. It was always cold and chilly in the cave: the dark grey walls and the occasional chirps of the bats above. The floor was smooth and freezing, but after sitting on it for several hours, she had gotten used to it.
Tim had files and papers scattered throughout the floor. They used the floor like a corkboard and started connecting cases. But she kept him in sight from the corner of her eye. Bruce had placed different types of acrobatic equipment in the cave for him, and he used it. She watched him continue to flip on the bars.
“Y/n?” A voice called, “Hello? Are you listening?”
She shook out of her daydream, “Yes, sorry.”
“I think that scarecrow must be involved?”
“That can’t be, though, he’s in Arkham, and Commissioner Gordon said that these victims appeared to be sprayed with Jokers Venom.”
“Yes, but reading through the police reports and witness statements, it says they all heard intense screaming right before crazed laughter.”
Y/n ran a hand down her face, “Fuck, so are we looking for a mixture of Fear Toxin and Joker Venom?”
“It appears so.”
“Why can’t Gotham just be normal.” Tim chuckled at her distress, “I wish I-“
A thud in the distance cut her off. Suddenly she realized that Dick was no longer in her peripheral vision. Y/n looked up to see him struggling to stand up and using one of the bars as support to help him stand. Her heart was racing, and her eyes narrowed. His body was sweaty, and his hair was sticking to his forehead.
“You okay, Dick?”
He looked up hazily, “I’m fine, Tim. Just slipped, is all.”
“He never slips.” Y/n whispered.
“Maybe he’s just tired?” Tim shrugged.
Y/n couldn’t stop staring. His body was lethargic and moving slower than usual. She thought he would reach for the bars again, but he didn’t. Instead, he collapsed on the floor, sitting crisscrossed. It confused her. If he didn’t get it the first time, he would do it until he could do it seamlessly. She could remember his persistence and determination like it was yesterday they were sitting in Haly’s Circus. He begged her to teach him to walk the tightrope but never got it.
“Do you think if I got a sample of the gas, you could have it tested?”
“Possibly, but you’d have to be extremely careful.“
Tim hummed, “I’ll see what I can do. Thank you.”
“Of course.”
She stood from her place on the floor and walked to the man lying on the cold floor, covered in sweat. As she approached, she could hear his breathing more clearly. He was panting heavily, and he hadn’t even done much. Y/n got next to him and realized his eyes were closed. She knelt beside his ribs and could feel the heat radiating off his body. Her hand went gently to his left cheek.
“Dick,” He didn’t move, “Dick, are you okay?”
His body was unresponsive, “Love, come on, wake up.”
She felt frantic, and her hand gently slapped his cheek, “Grayson, come on. I know you’re in there. You need to wake up.”
Y/n could hear a faint gurgling noise, and her body kicked into motion, “Tim! Tim! Get me a garbage can, quick!”
Her hands went under his arms and helped him sit upright. She felt the plastic can move to her left and placed his head over it. Her right hand was on his sweat-soaked back, rubbing up and down. His body gasped awake and threw up into the garbage can. Tim sat by her side, concerned and confused. Dick was gasping for air. His left hand was searching for something to grasp.
It quickly found her other hand and squeezed tightly, “It’s alright, I’m right here. You’re doing great.”
Dick sat over the trash can, heaving. His breaths came quick, and his heart palpitating rapidly. He couldn’t hear anything. It was all ringing, and his vision seemed blurry. He recognized the hand in his and the hand on his back. It was the same hands that held him at night, the ones who kept him safe, the ones that kept him steady. He felt something cold on his face. His mouth was being wiped with a washcloth, and his cheeks.
It had all felt so real. It didn’t make sense. He was fine this past week. Except for maybe hearing things that weren’t there or seeing shadows of people no longer living. He remembered sitting in bed while she was at the desk in their shared bedroom. Light music traveled through the room, and he heard it. It was the music that played at the circus. He had asked her if she was playing it, and Y/n shook her head. He didn’t see her turning back to her desk and biting her lip.
They came in spurts. Sometimes it took place over a day or a week, at the worst times, over a month. But nothing would ever make sense until after it occurred. He’d hear the circus music, see shadows of his parents, hear their laughter, see the bright lights. Those bright lights always shined just like the sunlight. He could always feel their radiated warmth, and he shined in it. He thrived in their white led bulbs.
Slowly he was coming back to earth. There were no big bright lights here. It was dark, and the bat computer radiated a blue light throughout the cave. The floor was cold beneath him, and his body shivered. Something soft was placed over his body, and he relished in the warmth. The hands were still on his body. He was thankful. It was keeping him on earth.
Y/n looked into his eyes to see him slowly returning to his senses. Tim was pacing beside them, antsy as always. She watched Dick slowly push the garbage can away from his face. She smiled, “Welcome back to the land of the living, my love.”
Dick gave her a faint smile before looking at his anxious younger brother, “Tim if you don’t stop pacing, I might throw up again.”
“I’m worried!” He exclaimed; Dick furrowed his eyebrows, “I’ve never seen you like that! You’ve never fallen from the bars, ever.”
His body was still coming down from his high, and he swayed. Y/n pulled his body closer to hers, and Dick’s head rested on her chest. His hand was still holding hers tightly. The scent of her perfume easing the process back to the world. He felt terrible for getting sweat all over her clean clothes. She had just done laundry, and Dick felt like a burden. He tried to lift his head, but she didn’t give. He was slightly relieved.
“I’m alright, Tim,” Dick rasped, “No big deal. It happens sometimes.”
“Sometimes?” Tim stopped, “What do you mean? Is this a frequent thing? Is this a symptom of something?”
Y/n could hear Tim mumbling under his breath about symptoms of certain conditions because if there was anything Tim knew, it was facts. She smiled at his concern. Dick was still trying to lift his head to get his sweaty hair away from her shirt. Eventually, she let him move his head to her shoulder. The tips of his black hair tickled her neck.
“Tim,” Dicks cheeks were rosy, and his lips were curled in a small smile, “Sit.”
Tim grumbled and sat in front of them. Dick reached his clammy hand out, and Tim took it in his without a second thought. Tim’s hands were always cold and dry, and Dick smiled more at the familiarity, “You know what PTSD is, right?”
“Mhm,” Tim hummed, “It’s a post-traumatic stress disorder. Most of us in this house have it. We wouldn’t have been adopted without some form of it.”
Dick chuckled, “That’s all it is, Tim.”
He didn’t look amused, “That doesn’t make sense.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean that you’ve never been like this before, so it just randomly happens one day?” Tim rambled, “I mean, you’ve never even stumbled before, not anywhere. We’ve been to Haly’s Circus since everything happened multiple times.”
“Do you know why we do that?”
“Because you and Y/n grew up there, and you want us to see where you grew up?”
Y/n kissed Dicks temple, “You are right. But we also go so Dick can work through his memories of the Circus.”
“I’m not scared of the circus by any means.” Dick clarified, “I get flashbacks of being on that trapeze, of hearing my mother screaming for me and watching my father try to break her fall.”
Tim squeezes Dick’s hand tighter, “I didn’t know. How could we have not noticed.”
“Tim, it isn’t your fault,”
“No, no.” Tim’s hand was ripped from Dick’s grasp, “I should’ve noticed. I should’ve known. I was there that night and every night afterward.”
Dick stood up unsteadily. Y/n jumped up to help support him, and he walked to Tim. His arms went around the younger boy tightly. He had no choice but to place his head under Dick’s chin and hold him tightly. Tim pulled away, “I guess I never realized that the person holding us all together could also have flaws.”
“It’s okay. I don’t want you guys to see it.” Dick said, “I hide it so you guys don’t see that side of me. I’m the golden boy remember? The sunshine of the Wayne household. I got a reputation to uphold.”
Tim latched back onto Dick, holding him tighter than ever, “Don’t ever risk your mental health for reputation.”
Dick snorts, “Okay, Mr ‘I haven’t slept in four days, and I need to get this report done, or Bruce might disown me.’”
Y/n chuckled, and Tim pulled back to glare, “That’s my job, not yours.”
“I love you, baby bird.”
“I love you too.”
It didn’t take long for Dick’s accident to travel throughout the house. Y/n had tried to keep it under wraps for Dick’s sake, but Tim didn’t have it. Dick just shrugged his shoulders. They ended up in the living room of the manor, where boxes of candy were opened and left everywhere. Popcorn was thrown across the room, and Y/n swore she could hear Alfred sighing somewhere.
She and Dick were situated on a two-person couch. His head was on her lap, and his legs were hanging off the armrest. Jason and Tim sat on the other two-person couch. While Steph, Cass, Damian, and Duke sat on the much longer couch between them. A movie was playing on the television, but no one was watching. They were all laughing and talking.
Y/n’s hands ran through Dick’s black hair, and his eyes opened. She saw the sky in them, the beautiful crystal clear sky. They shined with kindness and love. The love for her, for his family, for his life. They shined with hope for his city, for his future wife, and for the people in Gotham and Blüdhaven. His smile was blinding, and he couldn’t have been happier than in her arms with his family of birds and bats.
“So, is this what it feels like to be taken care of?”
“Yes, lovebird,” She smiled softly, “It is.”

"Scott, do you have him?"
"No, I thought you had him!" Scott came to a halt in the corridor just outside the hangars, his breathing harsh.
"He ran in your direction!" Gordon’s voice was frantic.
"He ran? How could he run? He can barely walk!"
"He was running! John, where is he?"
"Heading towards Two's hangar."
Scott darted the last few metres into the huge cavern. Thunderbird Two towered above him, the only sound the howling wind of the cyclone outside. "I'm in Two's hangar."
"It's a big hangar, Scott. I've sent Alan to assist."
"So which entrance? Send Gordon down here, too."
"He’s entered at the northern end. Gordon is covering security."
Scott wished, not for the first time, that Kayo hadn’t chosen this weekend to hang out with Rigby. "How the hell did he get out anyway?"
"I think we should make sure he is safe before we start assigning blame." And there was the guilt.
"What did you do, Gordon?"
"Nothing! He wanted chocolate...so..."
"You left him alone to get him some chocolate?! You know how he can react to new medications. You were supposed to be keeping an eye on him!"
"Can we find him first and not blame me later?"
"Found him!"
"Alan, you be careful."
"C'mon, he wouldn't hurt me!" The sound that followed that statement was more a squawk than anything else. It was followed by a crash that echoed the length of the hangar.
"Alan?" Scott started running. "Alan!"
"I'm...I'm okay. Though we now have proof that he can pick me up with one hand and throw me like a football." A grunt. “Always thought he was boasting about that.”
"Alan! I'm coming to you."
"I'm fine, Scott. Ooooh!"
There was a slam of a door that echoed the length of the hangar. "I've got Alan, Scott. He's o- Alan, that is not supposed to bend that way!"
"Gordon!"
"Thunderbird Three is down for the count. Broken arm. I'm taking him to the infirmary and Grandma. You'll need to field the target until I get back."
Field the target. After this, Gordon was fielding sanitation duty for a month.
A soft footfall.
Scott spun.
Virgil stood in a torn infirmary gown, glazed eyes looking up at his ‘bird. The gown had been ripped down one side and the bandages on his arm were tangled and trailing behind him.
Voice calm and soft. “Virgil?”
That disoriented gaze found him and his brother’s eyebrows crumpled. “What?”
Scott dared a small step forward. “Hey, Virg. How are you feeling?”
His brother blinked slowly. “You can’t keep me here. I will escape.”
Damn. “Virg, you’re home. You’re safe.”
“You’re lying.” Virgil’s top lip curled up in a snarl.
“I’m not, Virgil.” He held up his hands trying to be open and friendly.
“You just want our technology. You want to hurt my family.” His injured, but still very heavy lifting brother took a step forward. “You won’t succeed.”
“I am your family. Please believe me. You’ve been injured and medicated. You’re not seeing things straight.”
Virgil growled. “You hurt Gordon. You crushed him beneath tons of rock at the bottom of the ocean! I wasn’t there to help him then, but I am here now!”
His brother shouldn’t have been able to move that fast, certainly not high as a kite on painkillers. But suddenly he was on Scott and a mass of angry flailing limbs.
“Virgil!” Scott ducked an elbow aiming for his head, only to catch one in his gut. Virgil was off his face, but he had been taught by Kayo and her father as much as the rest of them, even though he was the least inclined to use it.
And he was all solid muscle.
“Virgil!” Scott made a grab for an arm and missed, paying for it with a solid connection to his side that had several ribs groaning. He scurried backwards, attempting to avoid his brother’s reach. “C’mon. Please don’t do this.”
“You won’t hurt us anymore!” Virgil’s fist was a solid projectile that Scott barely avoided. He skipped and dodged as his brother growled. If Virgil pinned him, he was screwed.
“I’m your brother! Your big brother! Virgil, please! I would never hurt you.” He backed off hastily as his brother moved in.
“You nearly killed him! You nearly killed little Gordy. How could you do that? How could you?!”
Virgil rushed him again and Scott was hard put to keep out of reach, those huge fists determined to do him damage. Perhaps he could have dodged his brother for some time, except something came up against the back of Scott’s shins and he was suddenly falling backwards.
Shiiiiit!
A blur of green as he landed hard, and he realised he had fallen over Thunderbird Two’s landing strut.
It was a conspiracy of pilot and machine.
Virgil loomed over him as he struggled to move out of the way. This was going to hurt.
But his brother suddenly flinched, a small sound of distress falling from his lips. He turned around to find Gordon lowering a tranquilliser gun and Scott got a full view of the dart embedded in Virgil’s shoulder.
“No! No! You can’t! I won’t let you! No!” He took a step in Gordon’s direction and Scott used the opportunity to scuttle to his feet.
“Virgil, it’s Gordon. I’m okay, see?” He held up his hands. The tranquilliser gun had vanished.
Virgil stared at him. “No, please, please don’t hurt him. Please, he’s my little brother…”
The injured engineer waivered where he stood, a hand going to his head as he staggered.
Scott edged a little closer as Gordon did the same.
But the spirit hadn’t left Virgil and as he caught sight of Scott once again, he took another swing at him.
It was uncoordinated and Scott stepped out of reach easily. Virgil staggered and nearly fell. Scott had to fight the urge to jump in and help.
Wide, fear-filled brown eyes caught his as his brother waivered badly. “Scott? No, I can’t-“
And Virgil folded, Scott barely managing to catch him before he hit the concrete floor. Gordon darted in, helping him to lower their heavy brother down gently.
Virgil struggled weakly, still determined not to give it up, muttering Gordon’s name over and over again.
“I’m okay, bro. I’m safe.” Gordon’s voice was almost as tearful and desperate as Virgil’s. He grabbed his brother’s hand, holding it tight in both of his own. “See, it’s me.”
Scott held his brother close as those brown eyes stared at Gordon, finally stilling their struggles. A whisper. “Gords?”
A smile spread over the aquanaut’s face. “Yeah, Virg, it’s me.”
“I’m so sorry…” But Virgil’s eyes rolled up in his head and his body fell limp as the tranquilliser finally had the last word.
Scott clutched his brother close as Gordon stared at the unconscious man and swallowed hard. Carnelian eyes caught Scott’s, but nothing was said before the aquanaut was thumbing his comms and calling Grandma down with a stretcher.
Pulling Virgil in even tighter, Scott closed his eyes and buried his face in black hair.
-o-o-o-
Virgil woke with a headache and a foul taste in his mouth.
The obvious smells of the infirmary alerted him to where he was, and even this deep in the mountain, he could hear the storm still raging outside.
He groaned. Damned cyclone. Two was going to need a full overhaul after that landing.
Landing.
Memory tracked him approaching Tracy Island, desperate to get home before the cyclone hit, but sure that Two could handle the conditions. After all, she had tackled much worse on many an occasion.
But there was a blank. He didn’t remember landing and all his memory could supply was a jumbled mess of terror.
“Scott!” He sat straight up in bed, his heart suddenly racing, thudding in his chest, absolutely terrified. What had happened to his brothers?
Hands grabbed him and, for a split second, that fear multiplied as he realised his own hands were tied down and he couldn’t free them.
“Virgil! You’re safe. You’re home. You’re safe.” Scott’s voice, panicked and desperate. A pair of worried blue eyes and Virgil latched onto them. A moment of stillness, recognition. He was in the infirmary. Scott had him. He was okay.
God, his head hurt.
“Scott?”
A tentative hopeful smile. “You with me, Virg?”
“Uh, yeah.” He pulled at his arms, looking down to find his wrists strapped with medical restraints. His left arm was swathed in bandages and was complaining. A frown. “What happened?”
Scott stepped back a little, but his hands didn’t leave Virgil’s shoulders. “You had a bit of a rough landing. Two did her best, but you got a bit shook up.”
Landing.
He searched his memory. Still nothing. No specifics, just a haze. But this wasn’t the first time he had hit his head...because he had obviously hit his head because he couldn’t remember the incident. “What’s the damage?”
“You have some electrical burns and bruising.”
“Not me, Thunderbird Two!”
His brother’s shoulders dropped and he sat back, rolling his eyes just a little. His brother radiated such a sense of relief. “Virg...” But there was a hitch in Scott’s voice. “Two is fine. A bit of strain to her superstructure, one wheel had to be replaced. Brains was concerned about her electrical systems, but he said it was mostly a replace and patch up job. He’s already repaired the dash.”
“The dash?!” What the hell happened?
“Hey, relax. She’s good. As far as we can tell it was a freak accident. A combination of lightning and a shielding failure. You hit the runway hard and an electrical arc took out you and half the dash.”
Virgil stared at his brother. “Are you sure she’s okay?”
Scott frowned at him, all humour gone. “Virgil, I don’t care about Two. I only care about you. It was...close. You scared us.”
Virgil blinked, the terror making a sudden return, swirling in the back of his mind. “What happened?”
Scott sighed. “You’re okay, just as much as your ‘bird. Grandma knows what she is doing.”
Another blink. “Grandma? Where is she?” He looked around the room as if expecting her to suddenly pop out of the shadows.
“She’s resting.”
Another thought hit him. “Gordon! Where’s Gordon?”
Scott frowned at him. “Gordon’s fine.”
“But the Landing...” He trailed off. His memory refused to supply the information he needed. There was something about Gordon. Gordon getting hurt.
“He wasn’t on Two. You were alone. You were coming back from Beijing. You were delayed with another rescue in the Phillipines and it messed up your flight plan proper. Gordon was fishing a boat full of whale watchers out of the drink in Tonga.”
Virgil just stared at him.
Scott’s frown deepened. “Gordon, travelled back under the edges of the cyclone. Made it back a couple of hours before you.” The hands on his shoulders squeezed gently. “Virg, what is it?”
“Why am I strapped down?” The fear was becoming a physical thing. His memory was blank, but something had happened. His neurons may not have recorded the information, but his body was on edge. Something other than falling out of the sky.
It hit him like a slap to the face as the facts all came together. The strain on Scott’s face, the fear in his own heart, the restraints, the memory loss... Quiet words echoing the terror welling inside. “What did I do?”
Scott’s stiffening gave it all away. The flicker of fear in his brother’s eyes that echoed Virgil’s own.
“Scott, what did I do?!”
“You were medicated. It wasn’t your fault.”
“Scott!” Why the hell didn’t he just tell him?
The door slipped open and a strawberry blond head poked through. “Virg! You’re awake!” Gordon bounded into the room, a grinning Alan following him in.
The aquanaut thumbed his comms. “John, he’s awake.”
The FAB at the other end of the line was curt, but a moment later his tall and lanky brother slipped in behind them.
Virgil stared, his aching head not quite able to keep up with the sudden change in audience.
Alan had his left arm in a sling. When had that happened? Again, his memory refused to supply the requested information. He resisted the urge to swear.
“Will someone please tell me what happened?” He was almost embarrassed by the desperate plea in his voice...almost.
All four brothers froze, three of them turning to Scott as if awaiting direction. Virgil looked from one to the other and back again. “Guys?!” He rattled the restraints like that guy out of Dicken’s ‘A Christmas Carol’ rattled his chains.
And immediately regretted it when Alan’s eyes latched onto them. The expression on his littlest brother’s face flashed worry.
“Allie?”
Alan startled and Virgil’s already thudding heart upped its pace another notch as clues began to slot together.
“Allie, how did you break your arm?” No, please, no.
“Virgil-“
“Scott!” He glared at his brother before turning back to Alan. “Are you okay?”
The worry on Alan’s face vanished and he shrugged as if the sling was nothing. “I’m cool. You’re the one we’re worried about.” He strode up to the end of Virgil’s bed and dumped himself on it. “Are you feeling better?”
There was so much hope in those blue eyes.
Virgil blinked. He really wished his head would stop hurting.
Enunciated very clearly. “Can someone please tell me what happened?” An unsteady breath as his eyes latched onto Alan again. “Did I hurt you?”
The restraints bit at his wrists as he clenched his fists.
Alan’s eyes darted to Virgil’s hands in echo of that earlier flash of emotion before his little brother threw up the same cheerful façade he did during rescues.
Virgil’s heart broke.
Alan reached out, a soft smile on his face as his fingers landed on Virgil’s leg, the bed covers relaying his little brother’s touch. “I’m good, Virg. You didn’t know what you were doing.”
“I hurt you.” The words scraped past his larynx as Virgil’s eyes latched onto the sling holding his little brother’s arm safe.
Alan waved it away. “Eh, you just proved a point. I need to spend some more time with Kayo.” He smiled just a little. “You know how to kick ass when you want to. Note taken. Don’t get in your way when you’re determined.” An impish grin. “Didn’t think you had it in you.”
“I-“ He knew Alan meant well, but every word… he struggled against his restraints. He desperately wanted to reach out and hold his brother, reassure himself, provide comfort, but…his chains rattled.
It was Gordon who acted. “Hey, Virg, it’s okay.” A hand on his shoulder for just a moment before his aquanaut brother was fiddling with the strap holding down Virgil’s arm. “I can see that hug machine grinding gears.”
Scott was fiddling with the fastenings on Virgil’s other wrist.
“No, not the hug machine!” It was comical on Alan’s part as he flailed dramatically at the end of the bed, but it was in such contrast to the distress in Virgil’s heart…
Then his hands were free and he was reaching for his little brother. “Allie!”
Perhaps he feared rejection in Alan’s eyes, but as the young astronaut flew into his arms without hesitation, Virgil was overwhelmed with a mixture of gratitude and love.
“It’s okay, Virg. I promise.” It was muffled into his shoulder.
Virgil only squeezed tighter, his left arm pulling at whatever he had done to it. Blond strands fluttered as he breathed into his brother’s hair.
“Sorry.” Hoarse.
“Is okay.” One thin arm tightened around him even tighter and it squeezed moisture out of his eyes.
He clung to his little brother for a long moment, but questions still needed answers.
As Alan eventually pulled away, blue eyes looked up at him and smiled. As far as Alan was concerned, he was obviously forgiven.
But Virgil didn’t think he could ever forgive himself.
And he still didn’t know what had happened. His eyes skipped to Scott, then Gordon and finally John.
John.
Virgil’s eyes narrowed as they focussed on his space brother. “Tell me.”
“Virg-“ Scott placed a hand on his arm again.
Virgil shook it off and kept his eyes on John. “Tell me!”
Aquamarine gauged him, flickered to Scott and back. “You had an adverse reaction to medication. Grandma tried a new combination as you weren’t responding well to your usual dose. It worked. However, an unforeseen side effect was paranoia. You fled the infirmary in what appears to be an escape attempt from the Island and headed down to Thunderbird Two.” John’s eyes were kind. “Alan got in your way. He claims you picked him up with one hand and threw him across the room. Hence the broken arm.”
Virgil turned to stare at his little brother who shrugged. “You were right. You can pick me up with one hand.”
Fingers tightened on Virgil’s arm, but he was beyond identifying who they belonged to as he turned back to John. Quietly. “There’s more.” It wasn’t a question.
John tilted his head a little. “Then Scott got in your way. You were determined that he was an enemy. Either the Chaos Crew or the Hood himself, because you blamed him for Gordon’s injuries earlier in the year.”
“John.” Scott’s tone was sharp.
The space monitor turned to the commander. “He needs to know.”
Virgil couldn’t take his eyes off his tall, red-headed brother. Those aquamarine eyes turned back to him. “You attacked Scott. Gordon took you out with a tranquilliser gun.”
Virgil stared. A lump in his throat welled up. “Thank you, John.”
His brother’s lips curled up into the faintest of smiles and he nodded once, but didn’t say anything further.
Virgil turned to Scott. “Are you okay?”
Eyes were rolled at him for his efforts. “As if you could take me your best day, Virg. Are you kidding me?” All smirking confidence.
Virgil raked his brother with his gaze, almost wishing he could medically scan him with his eyeballs.
He turned back to John. “Is he okay?”
A disgusted sound from Scott almost obliterated John’s smiling words. “He’s fine. Maybe a few bruises. That’s all.”
“John!”
John turned to Scott. “You want to try and hide medical issues from Virgil? He’ll worry himself sick and then find out anyway. Best to be upfront. For everyone’s health.”
Scott grunted and glared. “I’ll remind you of that next time you complain I’ve set Virgil on you for not sleeping.”
“That’s different.”
“Different how? Eos claimed it was a good thirty-six hours last time and you were hallucinating coffee.”
“I am old enough to make my own decisions.”
“Could have fooled me.”
“You can’t talk. You hid that bruised rib from him when you came back from San Fran two weeks ago.”
“John!”
“You’re lucky he punched you on the other side today.”
“John! For goodness sake!”
Virgil stared at both of them in shock as the ‘discussion’ blew up into a full-on argument over the bed. John stood with his arms crossed and his brow furrowed while Scott pointed fingers at him in punctuation.
Alan stared at the both of them, wide-eyed beside Virgil.
A nudge at Virgil’s other side snapped him out it.
“Both idiots, if you ask me.” Gordon was quietly grinning. He sat on the edge of the bed beside Virgil and wrapped an arm around his shoulders. “Can’t hide anything from you, anyway.”
A blink. The hug was weird and voluntary, but Virgil wasn’t about to look a gift horse in the mouth.
However…
“You shot me.”
“Yep.” The grinning continued, but Gordon didn’t look at him, his eyes tracking the entertainment of space monitor versus commander as they bickered.
“Thank you.”
That did draw those amber brown eyes in his direction. “You’re welcome. Any time.”
Virgil’s left arm hurt and was stiff as hell, but he lifted it awkwardly and pulled his fish brother in as best he could. There was that odd compliance again as Gordon let him do it with no protest at all.
Gordon’s hair always smelled of chlorine. It was familiar and reassuring.
“You okay?”
That earned him a snort. “My only regret is I didn’t shoot you in the butt.”
“Gordon.”
His brother sobered a little. “Honest, Virg. I’m fine. You didn’t hurt me and...” Those eyes, so like his own, fixed him where he sat. “It wasn’t your fault.”
Virgil didn’t have an answer to that so just pulled him in closer.
“Do it again and it’s the butt. I’m taking pictures.”
Virgil closed his eyes and just held on tight.

I'm Scared
so this is like reader going to a music school where she meets bill and tom and they start Black Question Mark its mostly implyed that they start it never really said tho.
Reader is a nevrous wreak and may seem like a cry baby SHE JUST SCARED 😭 this isnt realy a tom x reader and tom is kinda mean
i may make a pt2
"Dad i'm kinda scared" You say holding your dads hand tight, sweat forming in your palm making you even more nervous. Your family had just moved to Hamburg and you had shown some interest in singing so after a look around on posters and talk around town you found a music school for 10-15 year old, beginners and more experienced musicians.
You were buzzing with excitement with the days counting down to when you could start your first lesson but when the day came all the excitement left and was turned into a big bubble or anxiety.
"Come on sweets what's wrong you've been waiting for this since last month you were so excited"? your father asks, staring at your knitted eyebrows, the frown on your lips paired with your bottom lip shaking and your eyes watering he'd have to be blind to not notice you were scared.
"M-maybe ill come here next year dad, i'm not that good anyway" you say wiping your eyes a bit and ushering you two back to the car. Swiftly dodging your attempts of escape you dad holds you by your arms keeping you in place, moving a piece of your hair out of your face and speaks to you again.
"Look i know you might be nervous and i understand, were at a new place and you don't know anybody yet but this is a good chance to make friends here and maybe some might even go to your school" Your dad whispers wiping the few stray tears that roll down your cheeks and straightens your clothes.
"Okay dad, i can do this" You say more confidently grabbing the little mirror from your bag fixing your hair as well as making sure your face isn't blotched. Taking your first couple of steps away from your dad was hard wanting more than ever to just run back and never speak of this again but you pushed through and opened the door to the music school.
Sitting down on the wooden floor along with everyone else was awkward people around you were sitting in circles with their own friends some peeping over their shoulders to look at you but they majority of them of them talked within their groups.
The first couple lesson of class was torture first when some boy said "Who's that" when your name was called on the role then everyone looking at you when you said here then there was a game where you had to partner up and you were pared with someone who didn't seem to want to get to know you and was constantly looking back at their group of friends watching them as they all laughed and joked.
The week consisted of you wondering why you even came then remembering what your dad had told you and you felling a tad bit more confidant then seeing peoples faces drop when they get pared with the 'new girl' then the cycle repeats its self over and over again.
This week was just like any other seeing some people from your school that you recognise from music class whisper to there other friends while pointing at you not in a mean way but its not very nice to be having peoples eyes on you constantly, not knowing whats being said about you.
Hoping into your mum's car she drives you home waiting for you in the car while you get dressed into some non-school clothes then driving you to your music lesson. Gordon (the music teacher) hasn't really taught us much music so far but instead doing ice-breakers to ease the tension in the class though it hasn't worked well for you yet.
"Today is a big day students" Gordon says walking back and forth his shoes clacking with the wooden floor with each step "Do you know why ?" he questions looking at the facing in the room look at each other trying to come up with ideas on what Gordon was on about.
"Well i have decided that we aren't going to ease are was into talent i want to see your true raw talent that you posses at this very moment in time" his voice booming around the room and hushed whispers or excitement and nervousness flutter around.
Hands shoot up with questions as you look around, Gordon picking the first one he sees "Yes Rebecca" he nods his head at her "Will we be able to pick our bands" a hopeful smile on her face "Yes you will the max for a group will be 4 but f you can manage it you can have 3 though it will be harder" he ends roars of cheers come up.
You are left with worry tho as you look around you see people pairing up into groups you see a couple trios that you could join but you just couldn't muster up the courage for it so you resort back to your slumped position and wait for Gordon to speak again.
BILL POV
Excitement buzzes through me as i shake Tom who's equally exited next to me. "AHH" i scream at Tom who's eyes widen at me before scrunching back into a thinking face making the excitement die down a bit as i wonder what hes thinking.
"What is wrong Tom?" i ask "Who are we gonna go with" He asks stumped as he looks around at all the groups and not seeing anybody without a group. I turn around joining him on the hunt for a band buddie scanning the room looking for any stays but still not seeing any until he sees you slump in the back of the room.
"Her" I pointed at the girl in the back not so much that she would see up straight away but enough that tom could see who I was pointing to. Toms eyes follow my finger and his jaw drops "Bro really her, shes a loser and has like no friends even at school" Tom says letting out a exasperated gasp "Shes our only hope unless we wanna go with Gordon" i look at Tom my eyebrow raised "fine" tom says quietly.
"HI, Im Bill and this is Tom do you wanna partner up with us for the assignment" i was trying to be as nice as possible though with tom behind me staring off into the distance its hard to be genuine seeming. "Oh um sure" The girl says moving over a bit so me and tom have somewhere to sit down. "Im ____ by the way' She says giving us a small smile.
YOUR POV
I smiled at the two boys after i introduced myself and watched as Bill dragged tom to the ground as he wasn't paying any attention to the conversation. "Tom shut up " Bill snaps when Tom yells at him for hurting him. A awkward silence washes over the group you end up listing in to others conversations to try and think of ideas as you just assumed you would be put into a group and them already having an idea.
"Okay what ideas do you have" Tom mumbles looking at him he's cross legged and using his hand for resting his head your eyes lock and you pull away but still feeling his eyes on you unsettled you a bit. "Uhm, not much this is my first time really doing music so i don't really know what to do" you say looking away embarrassed from your lack of knowledge.
"Oh great bill just had to pick a newbie" Tom groans rolling his eyes looking at the other groups. You head snaps at the boy your embarrassment long gone and anger fuels you as you snap back at him "How bout you go find some one else then, i didn't tell you to come over here and quite frankly i don't want you here if your gonna be rude"
Both the boy's jaws drop Bill's eyes slowly move to his brother who stands up angrily and stomps away looking for a new group. You anger washes away quickly and you quickly apologise at Bill hoping he doesn't think your rude "OMG i'm do sorry about that i really didn't me-" "BAHAHAHHAH, omg that was so funny" Bill laugh's in hysterics at you telling his brother off.
"Your all good, Tom can be do rude some times don't worry he will be back everyone else is full or not wanting people to join so there is really know where for him to go" He laugh's grabbing some paper and sitting down with you.
You and Bill had been working on some lyrics after you two came up with an idea following an energetic theme with a catchy chorus that started the whole song. Few minutes go by and you see someone thump down beside you along with a groan.
"So glad to have you back Tom we have started a song song already" Bill says sitting up cracking his back before leaning back down again "What that's not fair i didn't get to add any of my ideas in" Tom whines "Next time don't go have a tantrum and maybe you could contribute your ideas to the group" you faux smile at him rolling your eyes and looking back at the lyrics.
Bill's smile follows the insult and looks at his older brother whose face is screwed in in offence. Toms eyes look to Bill looking for some help but bill ends up laughing in his face even more causing some people to turn and look at the group, Tom buries his head in his oversized jumper.
"Give me the sheet....please" Tom asks holding his hand out to you waiting for the lyric sheet. As Tom reads over the sheet you and Bill talk about other things some being around music and others not really. You find out that Bill sings and Tom plays the guitar and that they go to the same school as you but they are in the year ahead of you.
"Oooo with both of us singing and Tom playing the guitar that could sound super cool" Bill says he thinks about what parts you and him could sing together and separate. Tom hands you back the lyrics and add a few of his own ideas with wording and says what cords he could do for each part.
Tom, Bill and You all talk and practise a bit on the singing tom just had to listen as he left his guitar at home. "This is going so well"you say clapping your hands your first proper smile etched onto your face as you look a what your group has down so far.
"Are you free this weekend so we can practise some more and i can use my guitar as well"Tom asks as everyone starts packing up for the lesson some grabbing there school bags and heading out the door. "yeah i think i am ill need to ask my parent though" you say throwing your little bag over your back heading to your mums car.
"okay well hear is my mums number" Tom says grabbing your hand a writing down the number on your palm "Hopefully you can come....sorry about before by the way it was rude of me to do that" he smiles at you softly before heading over to bill as they walk away.
You quickly hop into your mums car, looking at the number on your hand "Oooo got a boys number huh" you mum teases you. "Gosh no mum!" you yell your face going red. "Today was the best, i have a music group and im not just sitting in the back being all sad, this is the boys mums number i was wondering i could go to their for a practice". You ask nodding your head.
"I don't see why not but your father may not be so happy with you being around a boy just yet" she giggles. "Mum" you groan moving your hands over you face.
HOPE YOU LIKED sorry i was away but i has stuff going on i may make a part 2 if you want.

because nobody's read twig and nobody should, here's wildbow's funniest queerbait in its entirety below the cut
She dressed light, so she wouldn’t rumple her clothes. She would want to look good when the Infante arrived.
Lillian looked so tired, even in sleep.
The black coat remained the goal, it had to be. But this job and jobs like it, they felt like small steps. They needed to accomplish something more.
They needed to not wait when they had answers others wanted. Not when time was so elusive.
Mary took a moment to tie her hair back with her ribbons, then climbed onto the bed. She remained there, poised, on her hands and knees above Lillian.
Gently, she lifted Lillian’s hands, moving them out of the way. Then she leaned down, touching her lips to her friend’s.
Soft, almost imperceptible.
Lillian reacted, exhaling softly, and Mary moved the towel to cover Lillian’s eyes as she made the kiss more perceptible, momentary touches instead of feather light ones.
Lillian, more awake, raised her head up, reaching, and Mary met that response with something substantial, then a touch of tongue.
It was about drawing it out. A quarter of the way, each time. Then as Lillian responded more, halfway each time.
Lillian arched her back, reaching up with her whole body, while her wrists were held down.
The progression, logically, meant the next step was a three-quarter one. Body to body. Instead of this, Mary moved her knee, placing it on the bed between Lillian’s legs, firmly, insistently pressing. She could feel Lillian change the angle of her hips.
A part of her liked getting this right. Like managing the perfect maneuver with the knife and wire, precise acrobatics. It made her think of being in lockstep with Gordon, Helen, or Sylvester.
Lillian made the most delicate of moans, and that response merited another three-quarter-of-the-way-there response. A kiss, a tightening of her grip on Lillian’s wrists.
In the midst of it all, the moment passed. A change in the responses that each action got. In the immersion she was maintaining.
Mary let go, and sat back.
Lillian reached up, taking hold of the damp towel that had been draped over her upper face, and pulled it down, clutching it to her chest.
“What gave me away this time?” Mary asked.
Lillian shook her head. She was breathing hard, and she didn’t speak immediately.
Mary let herself topple over, lying on the bed to one side. While she lay there, Lillian took her hand, fingers traveling over Mary’s fingers. Fingertips traced calluses. From handling knives and razor wire.
“They’re not his hand,” Lillian said. Her voice was soft enough it crackled a little bit. She sounded sad.
“Ah,” Mary said. “I can do something about that.”
As she looked over at Lillian, however, she could see that her friend’s eyes were sad.
“Unless you want me to stop.”
Lillian shook her head, but she didn’t look sure.
“You look so sad, after,” Mary said.
“It’s nice to believe it, just for a few moments,” Lillian said. “I don’t know if that’s a good thing. Maybe I’m not letting it be a clean break.”
“I don’t know,” Mary said.
“I’m so twisted,” Lillian said. “The Lambs are all twisted around, aren’t they?”
“I’m not the one to answer that, one way or the other,” Mary said. “It’s more or less all I’ve ever known.”
Still holding Mary’s hand, Lillian knit the fingers of their hand together, staring at the hands, which were held up as they lay there.
They remained like that for several minutes.
“I don’t want to bore you,” Lillian finally said. “Or for you to think less of me.”
“I’d never think less of you, not for something like this. And I like the challenge. Seeing how close I can get,” Mary said. “But if you want to talk about irritating me… why did we wait?”
#also fucked up cause it proves he can write decent intimacy#but only in the pursuit of homophobia#to be clear they WERE gay for this#but its an insane thing to write and not in a good way

Can I get a long haired embry imagine 🥵
Aight so irl kiowa gordon was like 19 during this, but in the movies, he's like 16. SO IN THIS STORY HOMIE LOOKS LIKE THIS GIF AND HE IS 20 AND WE ARE PASSED BREAKING DAWN PART 2.
You're eating your popcorn, focused on the movie playing on your TV in front of you. It's raining outside pretty badly. You're not used to it constantly raining. Since moving to Washington, there's been a lot of getting used to. Luckily, you've met a few friends already. Even someone you really like!
A knock on your door startles you. You slowly get up and look out the peephole. There's Embry Call. You sigh of relief that it's just him and open the door. He's soaked! "Embry! What are you doing?" You grab his arm and pull him inside. He chuckles at you and stands in your entryway, watching you shut the door. "Well?" You ask and cross your arms. He shrugs and smiles. "I was just at work and then leaving, I decided to come see you." He says. You shake your head and step up to him. "Embry, you're probably freezing. Look, I can get you fresh clothes." Your hand touches the bottom of his shirt to lift it up. His eyes are on you, which makes your eyes meet his. You instantly blush, realizing you're trying to take off Embry's shirt. "Sorry." You back away. "I didn't mean it like that. Just, uh, worried." You stumble on your words. He licks his lips and raises an eyebrow at you. "I have clothes if you want them." You look away from him. "I never get cold." He says. You chuckle at his manly ego and look up at him. "Em, everyone gets cold." You laugh, shaking your head. He sighs and then takes his shirt off. "Touch me." His face is serious. You're in shock. You're stuck. But, your body does as he says like you always do because listening to him is natural. You're safe. You're comfortable. You step right in front of his body and reach your hand up to touch shis abs. He does feel very warm. And God, his abs feel so hard. His face is inches from yours when you look up at him. You cough awkwardly and then step back. "How are you so warm?" You ask. "If I tell you something... really crazy.." He laughs at the end, "will you believe me?" His face goes back to being serious. You do trust him. You trust him and his people. You met him and Jacob while you were out and about trying to find something to do in your new area. After that, you haven't left Embry's side much.
"Yes." You breathe out. "The tattoo." He points to his shoulder. "We all have them. The shifters. Our tribe, we come from wolves. We protect our people from danger." He says. Embrys a wolf? "Wait, huh? You and your friends are wolves?" You ask with a deeply confused tone and face. "Yes." He replies. "Uh? What's the danger?" You ask, looking around. "Vampires." He gulps. "What? That's crazy." You reply. He nods his head and sighs. "Trust me. I know. Jacob has his own pack. His wife, Renesmee." He looks at you. You nod your head. "She's half human half vampire." He says. Your knees get a bit weak, so you sit at the dining table. He sits down next to you. "You're the only outsider I can tell because you're my soulmate."
-------
Jacob shoots the 8 ball in the hole, winning the game. "Damn it." You hiss. Renesmee and Embry laugh. "We told you! Jake's a beast." Embry grabs onto your waist and pulls you into him. You lean your head back and look up at his face. He's smiling at you, but you turn around, lean up, and press your lips on his. First kiss.
You're a little tipsy with the other imprints. You, Embry, Renesmee, and Jacob are in the game room at Jake's house.
The kiss shocks him, and he pulls away, chuckling. "Damn, how drunk are you?" He asks. Jacob laughs at Embry. "Dawg, even if she's sober, she wants you." Jacob sets all of the colorful balls back in the middle of the pool table. Embry bites his lip and kisses your cheek. "When you're sober, we'll come back to this." He says.
You wake up in a room you haven't seen before. But the smell automatically tells you where you are. The bed is small with brown bedding. Dream catchers fill the walls as well as some band posters. You know this is Embry's house. You're in his bed. You stand up and walk out of the room, not really sure where to walk to. You've never been in his house. You turn and walk into the living room. "Embry is sitting up on the couch, but his head is leaned to the side, and he's snoozing. His feet are propped up on the table in front of him. "Embry?" You ask. His eyes open, and he looks at you. "Sorry, I didn't mean to steal your bed." You giggle. He yawns and shakes his head. "Don't worry about it." You sit down next to him, remembering that you kissed him. "Embry?" You ask. "Mhm?" He stands up, grabbing his keys. "Was it okay that I kissed you?" You look up at him. "It's only okay if you plan on doing it again and for the rest of your life." He smiles. Your cheeks burn red, and you stand up. He looks over your face, and you reach around, pulling his hair back behind his shoulders, pushing some strands behind his ears. "I would do it again, but I need to brush my teeth and shower." You giggle. He rolls his eyes, biting his lip and smiling. "I'll take you home, baby." He says. He said it so naturally, like you shouldn't have questioned it, but you caught it really quick.
You step out of your bathroom and see a shirtless Embry, laying on your couch. "Up." You tell him. He sits up, and you sit next to him. "Floor." You demand. He raises an eyebrow and sits on the floor between your legs. You start playing with his hair. His hair is super soft and beautiful. "Am I your baby?" You ask. "Yes." He replies. You run your fingers through his hair, up his scalp, and pull back slightly so he's looking up at you. "Kiss me." You order. He doesn't hesitate to grab your face and kiss you. His lips are soft and warm. Love is pouring into your mouth. You pull him up. He gets on the couch next to you, pulling your body up on his lap. You pull away and look into his brown eyes. "Embry Call. Claim me." His eyes widen, and his grip tightens on your back. "As you wish."
