Moroccan Mint Tea
Tumblr media
In my opinion no other tea can quench my thirst like Moroccan tea, I could drink the whole kettle by myself if tea time wasn鈥檛 meant to be shared with loved ones 馃き I鈥檒l show you how to make it!
INGREDIENTS
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon green tea leaves (preferably Chinese gunpowder green tea)
1 small bunch of fresh mint (about 10-15 sprigs)
3-4 tablespoons granulated sugar (to taste)
LET鈥橲 MAKE TEA
Boil Water:
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a kettle or saucepan.
Prepare Tea Pot:
Rinse the tea pot with boiling water to warm it. Discard the water.
Add Tea Leaves:
Place the green tea leaves in the warmed teapot.
First Rinse:
Pour a small amount of boiling water (less than 1 cup) over the tea leaves. Swirl it around to rinse and lightly steep the leaves. Pour out this water to discard any bitterness and tea dust. This is a crucial step!
Brew the Tea:
Fill the teapot with boiling water. Allow the tea to steep for about 5 minutes.
Add Sugar:
Stir in the granulated sugar to taste while the tea is still hot. You can adjust the amount of sugar based on your preference for sweetness. (The sweeter the better)
Add Mint:
Add the fresh mint sprigs to the teapot. Stir gently to mix the mint with the tea. Let it steep for another 2-3 minutes.
Pour the tea into glasses. To achieve the traditional frothy top, you can pour the tea from a height :) Garnish with extra mint leaves in the glasses if desired.
Moroccan mint tea is traditionally enjoyed with family and friends, often accompanied by light snacks or pastries <3
TIPS
Tea Quality: Use good-quality green tea for the best flavor. Moroccan gunpowder tea is preferred for its strong and slightly smoky taste.
Mint Freshness: Use fresh mint leaves for the best aroma and flavor. Gently break the mint leaves with your fingers to release more oils.
If you鈥檇 like to see me make this tea, don鈥檛 hesitate to check out my TikTok where i share my recipes <3

Fish Snapshot I Guess
Tagged by @residentdormouse, who is forever reminding me that the point of a blog isn't only to slap things I like onto the wall like a dragon hoarding shiny things jfkds;afd Sooooo nerd time!
Current Favorite Color: what's funny is that purple and teal are my favorite combination, so I'd have to say both at once? I'm also a fan of blue and orange, but only together. Last Song: Not counting me trying to search through spotify to find one specific tune in this k-drama, it was Labour by Paris Paloma, which goes hard while being so damn catchy, I cannot recommend it enough.
Currently Reading: Okay I'm trying to retrain my brain to read long things at a stretch again to mixed degrees of failure, but currently I'm rereading Saiyuki, which is a fantastic series that more people should definitely know about. I also just barely picked up and started to read Wuthering Heights today after a discussion with my roommate about how twisted Gothic romances are. So, here's hoping I can actually get through it without getting distracted fjkdsal;fd
Currently Watching: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo. Again. Mostly because one of my roommates had me watch it years ago and now we're getting the other roommate into it. I've never laughed so hard or wanted to cry so much. The characters are so good. The story is so good. The soundtrack is impeccable. Out of all the dramas I've ever seen, literally nothing tops this for writing, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Currently Craving: Does sleep count There's actually this really good Bioshock-themed tea blend on Adagio that I've been craving a lot lately -- I wish my budget would let me make another tea splurge again jfkdlsjafl;d
Coffee or Tea: I think the above may help my case, but I'm dEFINITELY a tea kinda gill. Iced, hot, herbal, black, green.....I have a lot jfkdl;safd I could buy stock in Adagio at this point. It's not that I don't like coffee! I'm a sucker for a good latte, but I don't crave sweet drinks often, so I much prefer tea.
No pressure tagging @caktusjuice-draws and @jaiesondurantkross, if they wanna!

馃摉 Book-Tea 馃嵉 Association:
They both die at the end (by Adam Silvera)
Will pair magnificently with
Moroccan mint tea.
There's a maghrebi proverb about mint tea that says:
"The first glass is as gentle as life, the second is as strong as love, the third is as bitter as death."
