i feel like im the only vampire who’s glad to be a human now. as much as i miss biting people, it was such a lonely life. we can do things, but we can’t do even more. it was so arduous to just drink nothing but blood over and over at the cost of an entire life. i spent a lot of my life skittering around in alleyways and desolate little areas hoping that someone would just be there at first. it wasn’t fun and it wasn’t easy, and even though i didn’t know any other vampires, so i can’t say this as fact, most of us don’t survive for that long, even with immortality. most of us starve to death or get caught by hunters (back when they were actually around) or run into the wrong thing before we get it all figured out. i will never understand how humans actively want to be us. it’s such an isolating thing to go through. sure, they think we’re hot and that we get cool sexy fangs and that it’s all awesome and fun but like… you kill other people. you literally have to murder in order to survive. i never felt pride or pleasure from doing that. it felt awful to just waste an entire life for me to have to do it again later. it was a horribly desolate way to live.

I think I might be a physical nonhuman but I'm honestly not sure. I am fully aware that I am in a human body but also I feel like it's not mine. I feel like my true self was forced into this body waiting to be free and to join the stars again.

I do really want to call myself a physical nonhuman but I'm just not sure if I am one :/

Like yeah, I look like a human, if you don't look too hard. But that's literally only due to the fact that my kind use that as a way to lay low.

People like to assume "if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, it's a duck" applies to every situation. Which just isn't true in the slightest, making me feel like I'm talking to a brick wall trying to explain that I'm not human to people outside of (and sometimes others in) the alterhuman community.}}

As a kid I was never scared of creepy internet images. Those “spooky” images of silhouettes lurking in dark spaces were a comforting sight. The edited photos of long-haired ghosts standing at the end of a hall felt like looking right into a mirror.

The undead and cryptid creatures always felt more relatable to me than humans could ever hope to be. Even as a child.

I have had dreams about being my kintype for three nights in a row!

Should this mean something or am I just crazy? The swimming part is the most vivid but I also remember the way I breath was very fish-like. I don’t usually remember my dreams but these one stick out for some reason.
