Thomas King and Monty Finch (Actor/Accidental Pretty Woman AU)

The simple fact of the matter is that Monty has never once spent a single dime of the money that sits under that loose floorboard in his room.

It’s not the sort of justification that he could ever use in a court of law. No, your Honor, I took the money but I didn’t spend it, that means I didn’t do the crime, so I can’t do the time. 

After all, using money has nothing to do with whether you earned it. Courts don’t give a shit about what you do with the cash, only how you got it in the first place.

But Monty’s problem has never been with the courts. It’s never been with the letter of the law. He’s done so many things over the years that could and should have landed him in prison and yet they didn’t.

No, the problem has always been with his mother. With the fact that he can’t be like her. With the fact that he can’t be her.

Honestly you’re giving me such an opportunity here, I don’t even know where to start lol.

First of all, this au is actually a collaboration between me, @knifesimmons, @innocentmapleleaf & @necromancer-snail over on the dead ppl detective agency server. Now I think the best place to start, is a character introduction:

Heroes:

Edwin/Coccinelle: Edwin is the holder of the ladybug miraculous. His strict yet absent parents, have homeschooled him up until recently, since he’s decided to go to school.

Charles/Jinx: Charles is the holder of the black cat miraculous. He’s transformed as often as possible, and absolutely loves the freedom it has given him. Plagg is incredibly protective of him, because of his poor home life.

Crystal/Panthera: Crystal is the holder of the tiger miraculous. She frequently crossed paths with the hero boys, before becoming a holder, because of her ex Davids tendency of getting akumatized constantly, like an infinitely worse version of Mr. Pigeon.

Niko/Inoshishi: Niko is the holder of the pig miraculous. She runs this aus version of the Ladyblog; “The Coccinelle Chronicles”, she has so many videos, that she can’t post to it, because it would reveal her identity.

Jenny/Tau: Jenny is the holder of the ox miraculous. She is incredibly tired of a certain cat, always sleeping on her awning/roof, but at least it gets her more customers. She has to be the responsible adult in the group, and she definitely did not sign up for it.

Villains:

Esther/Hawkmoth: Esther is the holder of the butterfly miraculous. I mean she’s Esther Finch, need I say more.

Monty/Pavonis: Monty is the holder of the peacock miraculous. He’s a senti monster, but isn’t aware of it yet. He secretly works for Esther, but eventually gets redeemed.

Additional cast:

The Night Nurse/Gaurdian: NN is the guardian of the miraculous, and is the one tasked with picking the holders. She’s also dating a certain Ms. Jenny Green.

Death/Grand Master: we haven’t talk much about her role in the story yet.

Also they wear school uniforms (styled after Edwin’s uniform in the comics), for no other reason then I wanted to, and no one can stop me.

Finch Rambles: Doctor Who/Amulet AU

The premise of this AU is "What if Emily and Navin Hayes from Amulet were companions of the Doctor?"

Some notes:

This AU does diverge quite a bit from Amulet's canon, but Emily still does have her amulet and the powers that come with it.

BACKSTORY

Emily and Navin are transfer students at Coal Hill School, where the Twelfth Doctor is currently working.

Some monster-of-the-week attacks, Emily uses her powers to fight said monster, and Twelve takes notice of this.

Eventually, the Hayes siblings and their friend Alyson join Twelve's TARDIS team. Shenanigans ensue.

IDEAS FOR ADVENTURES:

A "Father's Day" episode in which Emily tries to save her dad from a fatal car accident, but ends up creating a paradox.

The kids all have fun on a vacation planet or something. Meanwhile, Twelve has to deal with The Horrors.

Just let Emily have a go at the Daleks and Cybermen.

Navin and Alyson mess around with alien technology. There are Consequences.

The gang has to go into deep cover, which means Twelve uses the chameleon arch to disguise himself as human. As a human (but not really), Twelve believes he is the Hayes sibling's grandfather.

NOTES:

Emily is 15, and Navin and Alyson are 14 when they join the TARDIS team.

Navin enjoys tinkering with any kind of machine-- even the TARDIS (that is, if the Doctor would let him!)

Out of the three kids, he's the one who tries most to emulate the doctor. He usually wears a trenchcoat like the Doctor's tenth incarnation, or a scarf like Four did. He is seldom seen without his aviator's goggles.

on fire: a teen wolf novel chapters 1-3

on fire was published on july 17, 2012. the day after raving had aired during the show's second season.

it was written by nancy holder who has written many, many tie-in books for multiple franchises but most notably she wrote novels for the buffyverse.

by tapping nancy holder to write the novel confirms to me that mtv was trying to do what teen wolf's spiritual predecessors did and create tie-in novels with the show and on fire was testing the waters for that.

it did not succeed because teen wolf doesn't have the kind of space for that. the timeline is too tight. teen wolf was part of the new netflix binge era. it had a seasons of 12 episodes that were wall-to-wall plot. there weren't silly filler episodes and they didn't do monster of the week plots.

on fire assumes that you have seen episodes 1-5 of the show but it is also an AU of season 1 post-the tell.

i get the vibe that the author was given notes, some information or like an outline that she used to build a plot so it's interesting to see what tid-bits holder uses and refers to that still gel with canon or is consistent with what we know.

this isn't a novelization of season 1 that's for sure but, hey, i took notes.

i'm going to break the novel up into 3 chapter chunks.

so without further ado let's get into it. on fire: a teen wolf novel or as i've been thinkin of it as.

the novel starts right at the very end of the tell after the parent teacher conferences. 

the way it's described when argent shoots the mountain lion brings to mind the scene in to kill a mockingbird when atticus shoots the rabid dog. chris argent is no atticus finch but he sure does learn to walk a mile in someone else's shoes doesn't he?

i somehow always manage to forget that the tell is the episode where allison turns 17. she doesn’t live to see her 18th birthday. shot through the heart man. 

oh my fucking god scott. the way this is written i imagine holder is trying to invoke derek and kate as if there’s some wild age gap between him and allison when they're like 9 months apart in age. allison is not kate jesus chris. look at this shit:

“scott hadn’t known allison was seventeen, a year older than the other kids in their class -- older than him -- and didn’t want anyone to know.”

Fuck Rafael McCall. Meet me outside and catch these hands.

“he knew his dad wasn’t keeping up with child support payments. not that his mom had ever mentioned it.”

this is where the transition into heart monitor would be. it is a pretty terrifying dream scott has. peter’s such a dramatic bitch. scott’s dreaming of being in the woods with everything on fire and then he’s being compelled by peter to come kill with him. which just reinforces my whole thing about peter and scott being psychically connected. we don’t see this with any other alpha-beta connection to this degree. derek senses victoria killing scott in raving but we really do not get this in the show very much as it seems to be a Dark Sided power. but we do see peter use it again in season 6a with the whole “you were my beta first” scene. 

scott mentions stiles’s having ADHD so to me that means that nancy holder was definitely working with the idea that stiles does have it. stiles having ADHD seems like a plot thread that got dropped really quickly by the show but remained in dylan’s acting choices and in fandom’s mind.

scott is the only beta we see experience sleepwalking episodes. it seems tied to the compulsion and mental link he shares with feral alpha peter.

the entire paragraph is something. firstly, it wasn't until night school, the episode after this one, that peter tried to push scott into killing his “pack”. but lol melissa called stiles scott’s “litter mate” and stiles wearing his target shirt that he wore in wolf moon and the one that subtextually could reference the nemeton and eventually scott's pack symbol. i don't believe we ever actually saw that shirt again. the tragedy.

“stiles had on his bullseye t-shirt, and it kind of freaked scott out when he wore it. as if it meant that stiles were a target. They both knew the Alpha wanted Scott to kill him to cement Scott’s acceptance that he was a member of the Alpha’s pack. Who better to take down than the guy Scott’s mom had once referred to as his “litter mate”?”

this is where it's starting to get kind of weird because the plot of this book takes place during season 1 but it’s not strictly following the plot. it feels like an alternate season 1.

jackson has gone missing. when is he not missing is the more appropriate question? 

so chapter 2 starts with scott and stiles joining lydia and allison at The Popular Kids Table to discuss jackson being missing. this wouldn’t have happened in season 1. this dynamic didn’t exist until at minimum season 3. lydia didn’t even acknowledge stiles’s existence until the winter formal at the end of the season. 

jackson’s parents apparently went to paris right after the parent-teacher conference, leaving their high school age child alone for an extended period of time in the middle of the school year? what? no wonder jackson’s fucked up. why didn’t they just go around christmas and instead they waited another three weeks or some shit. that is weird.

jackson’s been left a note from a supposed private investigator about his birth parents while his parents are out of town, which is totally not sus at all. 🙄🙄 lydia's concerned about him looking stupid so she won’t go to the sheriff and she doesn’t even approach jackson’s best friend danny. like, danny would know a lot more about jackson than scott or stiles would. lydia, i know allison is the one who involved scott but for fuck’s sake. 

look even a page later lydia says “he and jackson barely know each other.” then why are you involving scott in what you seem to believe is a personal matter? 

do people just generally know jackson was adopted? i can see lydia knowing but scott and stiles? allison just fucking moved there so she doesn’t know anything about anyone. this is quite the personal piece of information i doubt he’d want others to know lydia. 

this is such an AU because after the parent-teacher conference stiles was giving scott the cold shoulder due to his dad being hurt. 

also stiles is supposedly sitting at this table the entire time lydia, allison and scott are talking and has not given his opinion on the matter yet. very unlike him. if there's one thing stiles has it's opinions on jackson and his father's job. stiles would be all over this.

this fucking line is brutal man -- “stiles was the only person on the planet who knew he had become a werewolf. well, derek knew, too, but derek hardly counted as a person.” that said, i do think it’s accurate to scott’s headspace at this point regarding derek. avoiding seeing derek as a person is a way of detaching himself from the situation he’s found himself in. 

alright so we’ve got a POV change to allison --a nd it’s all about how cute acott is. allison I love you but chill please. 

okay so this is interesting. “her mom had been angry, too. allison could tell that if had been left up to her, she wouldn’t have been so harsh about having to stay all weekend. her mom liked scott.” are we sure we’re talking about the same victoria argent? granted this is pre-werewolf reveal so as far as victoria knows allison is just mooning over a nice normal human boy but i have a hard time imagining this being the same victoria who gave us the crazy eyes and the sharpening your dick metaphor.

this still haunts me.

"except i won’t get to spend time with scott except at school until i’m, oh, 112.” oh right in the feels

this book really assumes you’ve seen episodes 1-5 of the first season. allison’s mentioning aunt kate and the necklace in a way that makes the assumption the reader knows who and what they are. 

jackson’s password for his tracking app is “captain”. that is worse than the password being lydia or like scott famously having allison as his password. y’all suck and have shitty computer security.

these kids are sophomores in high school and lydia and allison are really having a discussion about jackson going to a pay by the hour motel as if that’s a thing 15-16 year olds do in the california subburbs on a regular basis. as if jackson would lower himself in such a way to begin with. he’s snobby as fuck. it’s such a weird conversation.

i am page 20 and i feel like so far this author hasn’t been very nice to stiles. not having him say a word in the lunch conversation about jackson despite not only being very opinionated about jackson whittermore’s general existence he’d also have thoughts on a missing person. like, he didn’t even speak when his dad was brought up as a possible avenue of help which is odd. then about a page later there’s this sort of tone used around stiles that feels condescending about him being hyperactive.

this paragraph is, uh, something that could’ve only been written in 2012 because it feels gross:

“lydia shrugged. then she turned to allison. “tell you what. if the boys are willing to the motel for us ---” “to a motel. to look for a guy,” stiles said. ”maybe you should ask danny?” danny, their lacrosse team goalie, was gay, out and proud. “he could act, you know, more casual about it.”

that said, it does track with stiles being overly occupied with the perception of his sexuality and that danny does shit he’s way too young to be doing which is written around his sexuality. remember the whole older boyfriend and going to the jungle thing is season 2? 

it has been like 23 pages and allison’s got this subplot where she wants to have sex with scott. like girlie you’ve known scott for 2 days, keep your pants on. (it keeps coming up with scott too and it's annoying, okay).

it took stiles barely a paragraph to mention derek hale when the point of view switched to him. sir. 

i’m laughing at how derek’s point of view is paired with stiles in the way that scott and allison’s are. even in the non-canon book the Sterek Agenda is there. 

“a prankster with a wicked sense of humor.” is what derek refers to peter as before the fire. is that what we are calling it derek because i would disagree.

“i dreamed of other alphas coming after me. why? it’s not a crime to kill an alpha. i’m a werewolf. the way we progress in status is through challenge.” now this is an interesting perspective. werewolves progress via challenges. that's still sort of in-line with what we see in canon.

allison and scott are driving into the seedier side of town. AKA what seems to be where the poors live. scott describes seeing boarded up buildings, pawn shops and “some kind of clinic where you could sell your blood.” which I assume is a plasma center where people donate and get paid in return and this little classist shit says “remind me to never get a blood transfusion.” god he’s such a 16 year old..

Ghost is a fallen angel, black wings and small horns growing out of his skull, though as a recent update on his wings they’re loosing feathers faster than they can regenerate, Simon knows he’s falling more

Soap is a shapeshifter, he can never decide on a definitive form ever, when he changes you can either get a normal animal or a mixture of animals that makes him look terrifying

Laswell is a brib, more specifically a house finch, very very small but so so pretty and also loud

Chess (she/her) @concealeddarkness13 (the picture for her is made by the wonderful @drabbleitout, and she is the person on the left with the prosthetics in the picture): Chess is a special character, and I hope to show how special and awesome she is! She’s extremely distrustful, but she’ll trust people who even treat her with an ounce of decency, and she’ll protect the people she cares about with her life. She’s flirty and confident, but underneath, she has an abysmal amount of self esteem and thinks she’s a monster that will never have love or friendships. She is my blorbo who has been rotating in my mind for the past two years, and I hope you can love her as well! Someone described her in one of the AUs I’ve done as oscillating “between being a poor, wet little meow meow and a fierce feral protective lioness being held back by the scruff of her neck because she is still little”. (credits to @ratracechronicler)

She did start out with a loving family, but like all good protagonists, her parents were murdered when she was 10, and she was left alone. Especially because the society she lives in ignores violent crimes and the victims of those crimes, erasing them all from society as if they never existed. So, she technically didn’t exist in society’s eyes, so she couldn’t get a job or own property or anything. The people around her helped her for a few years until she was old enough to take care of herself, and then she learned to steal.

At twenty years old, she was kidnapped and forced into prosthetics experiments that gave her fire magic that hurts her, from her prosthetic right arm and left leg now. She has a magic fire in her lungs that flares up during physical or mental stress and burns her throat and makes her cough up smoke. Aeflin, the person running the experiments, believed her to be very strong (because she snarked at Aeflin so much and didn’t let her see her pain as much as possible), so she decided to make Chess into her weapon.

She changed her name (since Chess’s original name was Ezra) to Chess, and she put her through even worse torture. Finally, Naivi, the other person running the experiments, got Chess her own team and sent her out into the world to do what the experiments were for and to get her away from Aeflin.

Chess tried to escape that, but a random person found her and took away her memories and brought her back into the enclosure, where most humans are trapped. And she realized right away that the humans inside the enclosure found she was from the experiments and hated her and hurt her and called her a monster because God forbid women do anything (just trying to survive). She learned that the only way that she could get a warm place to sleep (not an alley) was to make herself attractive to people and flirt. She liked sleeping with people, but she mostly did it to have a warm and somewhat safer place to sleep. And even then, she’d have to stay alert because her partner could wake up and try to hurt her.

That’s where she is at the start of her story! She will get a found family and someone or someones to love! She’s pansexual and polyamorous and flirty, and she loves physical touch! She just wants people to treat her decently, and if she has to, she’ll fight to protect her boundaries. And she loves punching jerks in the face with her prosthetic! And we love a woman who loves to fight, right? Thanks for reading!

Crislie Crimsworth (she/her) @gailynovelry: The story of Crislie’s life is that she followed a really sad, really pretty girl out of her sleepy little village and got several new scars, a case of lycanthropy, a little bit of god-killing, and lots of trauma out of it. But she did get a girlfriend and a sick ax along the way, so it balances out! Since “sunset orange” is a mourning color in her country, she’s also a casual goth as well as a jock. If you become her friend then she will carry you around like a sack of potatoes and sometimes hand you a little carved wooden animal. I love her dearly.

Nat Finch (he/him) @albatris: I'd like to submit Nat Finch! he/him, 25 years old, brand new baby vampire. he works the night shift at dodgy petrol and convenience store Stop 'N' Go, where he falls asleep on the clock and encourages shoplifting. he's schizotypal like me and he loves cats, cooking, and his friends! he's the protagonist of my campy gory horror trilogy, though he'd rather not be!

he's short and fat with red eyes and lots of freckles. his hair is long and black, often uneven and choppy in length, because he just cuts tangles out instead of untangling them ❤

he's a sweet boy, earnest boy, awkward boy; he doesn't have many friends at the start of the story due to his paranoia, psychosis, and social anxiety, but by the end of it has a whole bunch of good friends AND a kitty he adores named Grub who purrs like a faulty tractor

in this story vampirism is a sentient entity and all connected via a hivemind known as "the Garble".... it lives in the vampires' blood and can manipulate their thoughts as well as give them heightened strength and speed, claws and fangs, and night vision when they need it. it can be useful, but mostly it's a bully and an inconvenience

at the centre of the Garble hivemind lives the very first vampire, an undead rotting corpse and the god of vampires, and a few of their close friends and confidants. all life force collected by regular vampires flows to them at the centre and grants them immortality and power. it's a sweet deal for the folks at the centre, and a terrible deal for ordinary vampires like Nat who rarely reap any real benefits from their condition, but are threatened and manipulated into participating in this system regardless

Nat's story sees him struggling to solve the mystery of how and why he was turned and trying to balance his kind, caring nature with his new violent condition... and eventually leads him to, "hey, I think I'm going to hunt down and eat the rest of vampire god"

vampires are hardwired to seek warmth and coziness so Nat is always down to snuggle 24/7

bouncy cheery overexcited lad who will grin for weeks if you say something nice to him

speaking of eating people, primarily preys on rich pricks and abusive bosses

is too awkward to tell his neighbours he bought them a cute knitted blanket he thought they might like for their corgi because what if that's a weird thing to do. this has been going on for three weeks

Hello y’all! Let me introduce you guys to the new monster subspecies, the vila!

Sparking the folklore behind the ladylike air spirits in Slavic mythology, vila are a monster subspecies found in every au. They’re most commonly seen in the bird AUs however as they are air affinity type monsters

Vila are one of the more humanoid monsters, with soft faces and a head of hair like the average human. They tend to have dainty ladylike facial features. However they’re still easily identified as monsters due to the pale cool tones that their skin comes in, and the white wings in place of ears, feathered legs, clawed hands and feet, and the secondary set of wings at their hips.

Vila present their magic/ecto color in their eyes, hair and claws, making them all match if they don’t dye them.

Despite looking closer to air elementals, Vila are actually a monster subspecies who claim ghost monsters and snowdrakes as their parent monsters. However due to the Vila being an older subspecies, records on this are conflicting and can’t be proven.

Vila monsters excel in air magics, but can also have an affinity for ice and healing.

While there’s no personality “stereotypes” for these monsters, one thing rings true for all Vila, they love music. Vila monsters have a trumpet like singing voice that can carry large distances. Those who can hold a tune compete against plenty of their other kind to get a spot in the music community.

Vila monsters rarely enter in relationships outside their subspecies, tending to be drawn in to their own kind, but the ones that do always seem to pick a monster completely opposite to them. Vila that choose a non-Vila partner often aim for fire or earth type monsters.

And yes, I do have a new character to introduce! Meet Diane Swann!

Diane Swann is a Vila from birdtale! She’s aged 312 and has an affinity for both air and ice magic. She has peach and canary dual colored magic and is a known advocate for body positivity in monsters with dual colored magic.

Diane is the only monster successful in the modeling scene with dual colored magic. She mostly does shoots for and promotes makeup and hair and feather care brands. Shes considered among ebott’s most beautiful and has even been in shows outside the country. Her fan base among the humans is huge!

Diane is an outspoken and confident monster. She’s bold, never shying away from a fight and is loved by fans for her dry humor and elegance when arguing. Plus she isn’t afraid to show herself behind the scenes of the show, often posting herself in non-modeling scenarios, even if the picture is unflattering.

Diane has a close relationship with the mettas, especially Dazzleblook (lustswap) and velvetron (underlust). She’s friendly as well with crow who works for the mettas. She does know pepper from the modeling business before he left. She believes his departure was a crime against beauty and every couple of months will hound him to try and get back into modeling again lol.

Things she loves: nail polish, feather wax, cute hair claw clips, her pet zebra finches, the color beige, anything cinnamon flavored, trying to discover the secret shampoo that Queen toriel uses, pedicures, the opera and Fortnite and tik tok dances lol

Comic/Novel Series that prob wont become a thing but who knows lol

It will be called "Fableling Myths" which will take place primarily on Fable & the now island based city of Aldikrass (used to just be a small town but due to Elemere's influence it became its own lil thing & kinda separated itself from the main land).

Now the timeliness is pretty similar to TES's timeline but considering these guys are technically apart of a AU that belongs to a frend of mine, it will be tweaked. (Yeh the Mynks are NOT Canon to TES at all, they're just a bunch of goobers I made)

Now here will be the (supposed) timeline (Might change later on):

FM: Dawn of Time (The rise of the Guild & also the creation of the Mynks + how they became to be) (Before the war started) (Mid ME - Late ME)

FM: Civil Disputes (Where Elemere is killed in her hometown of Aldikrass & later on where the Elemental War starts) (Late E1 - Early E2 (Also the time where Mina's current champion is born)

FM: Changes in Prospects (Years after the war ended & now things have changed in the species bcs Mina felt very.... let's say...not good about what went well. So she makes them completely different in body shape. Also where teh Generals & Cardinals become a thing) (Also Early E2 - Late E2)

FM: Finch (Aldikrass separates from the main land & Finch is born. But instead of being born in Fable she is born in the... Mortal realm? She meets a few foes (mainly mages bcs SHE IS A SPIRIT) & frends along the way but eventually finds the strange island city called Aldikrass & settles down) (Early E3 - Mid E3)

FM: Marksman (Take place primarily in Aldikrass & some of teh islands near it during the Oblivion Crisis. & yeah.... A bunch of monsters are everywhere to the point that Mina is really starting to not trust anyone (especially with that one incident with a certain Daedric Prince of nightmares) so with that she closes off Fable from humanity but selects a few Mynks to scout out the Mortal realm... Except none of them were successful... But in Aldikrass one the Marksmen (Mortal followers of Mina & the Guild as a whole) kinda had a contract with one of her Mynks... And that Mynk is... FINCH? The 2 do eventually reach the continent & do meet some foes... Especially a certain foe who was locked up in the catacombs of Fable for a crime that he committed so long ago yet so HEINOUS!) (Late E3 - Beginnings of E4)

FM: Cluttered Events (Multiple story's taking place during the current era/day. All primarily taking place on Aldikrass & Fable but also on the mainland but since the Oblivion Crisis was so recent... Some ppl believe that Mina was apart of it... Which isn't true bcs Mina COMPLETELY DISTANCED herself from everyone except for her mortal followers & the ppl of Aldikrass as a whole (Keep in mind she is actually OPENING her doors again but now in order to get in fable there will be Fableium Portals created by Mhnks who go out into the Mortal Realm). This thing will focus on the individuals whom are important (Like Mina's Champion, some pretty important Mynks.) (Also this is like the same timeline as Noirvillah so yeh) (Current Day)

Im not really sure what to do with this thing atm bcsI kinda succ at making actual making sense lore without trying to rewrite the whole gosh digity thing for like a lot of time so this is just a draft of what will prob happen in Fableling Myths' Storyline.
