Hi pook 😢 ( sorry if u don’t like the nickname) but I’ve been reading your series and I am reading Into the Fire (chapter 8) and I’m just wondering why you made Sokka give in so easily when people tell him to control himself that’s not Zuko. Because I would imagine that he would be more stubborn and more focused on what he wants instead of being caring. Even though he’s a caring and kind person I feel like being in prison would make him more selfish and less understanding of other people if than makes sense 😭

Like it just aggravates me when I see Katara try to idk really baby him and control him a bit (not mentally) it just kind of annoys me. Because even though Sokka loves his Sister I feel like he shouldn’t listen to her for real.

But that’s just me because that’s my opinion coming from someone behind has anger issues/ gets angry easily 🤷‍♀️

as for your comment about sokka I gotta say you’re probably the first person to tell me sokka isn’t angry enough haha. Which is fine because everyone’s allowed to have their own opinions, but my thoughts on LIAB angry sokka is his intelligence is often battling his emotions. I think sokka is smart enough to know he isn’t supposed to be lashing out at people the way he is or clinging to Zuko so tightly to where they both can’t breathe. i also think he is desperate to be back to his “old self” without actually wanting to be his old self. I do think he is fighting his path to healing every step of the way but even with all the time spent in prison he is still SOKKA. He cares for people he loves his family and he knows from watching his parents growing up what a healthy relationship looks like - his codependency to zuko is probably not it. I doubt it will change much, but when people tell him ‘you need to chill’ Sokka is very much like I FUCKING KNOW BUT I HAVE NO CHILL!!! NONE! ZERO CHILL.

but I can’t imagine sokka wanting to hurt anyone who doesn’t deserve it. Or fighting his friends and family to isolate himself anymore than he already is. I have learned that writing a more emotionally triggering fic does stir up emotions in people and causes them to project onto the characters a bit which is fine but everyone processing trauma differently. & sokka is doing it his own way just like zuko is.

Also…. This is a fanfic and I don’t know if people wanna read sokka being a raging asshole for 50k… so some of the realism in healing gets lost to word count because unfortunately I can’t spend years and 1000k helping these boys overcome their trauma so some of it has to be rushed a little for word count / plot purposes haha.

I guess Fodlan, as it's written, would imply that the "sudden illnesses" hitting Maurice's scions would be Agarthans doing Agarthan things, because per Nopes, they're the root of everything wrong (tm) in this verse.

Even if Houses suggested, with the rando who insults Marianne in her paralogue, that normal people, aka Bob and Carol, would also be ones to hunt Maurice's descendants believing them to be cursed (a throwback to the Loptyr blooded people and the witch hunts from Jugdral?).

However, Catherine in her support with Linhardt mentions something similar to Momo's ramblings, Catherine says she feels the relic "eating away" her soul, Maurice blames his urges on his "nabatean blood" and in the notes believed to have been written by him, there's a mention of a body falling to "ashes" and "evil", would the "evil" here mean the Nabatean/Relic "eating away" at the wielder's soul? 10k years of lore are 10k years of lore so we will never know the end of this story, but I don't think Momo or the Nabatean he "borrowed power" from are special in this situation, it's possible Catherine after overusing her sword could become a sentient black beast, much like Claude and his gang after, just like Maurice, bathing in the blood of a saint (in Nopes).

But as you noted, there's a link between Thales, Supreme Leader and the Crest of the Beast.

Is it only metaphorical, as in Supreme Leader is doubly called a beast, first by Dimitri (more explicit in the JP version of Tru Piss) and, in a way, by Thales who gave her a "beast" themed weapon, which is actually a mockery of a relic, since Aymr is fake one (it needs Agarthium to be repaired!) - sure it'd be part of the all those clues taking inspiration from buddhism telling the player that Supreme Leader's path is the wrong one that completely flew over the localised versions (granted I wonder how you could accurately localise the "beast path" in a game without adressing the entire context!) for a Doylist reason...

Or it's maybe Thales who realised how Momo still managed to keep his sanity after transforming unlike other random crest beasts (but Maurice is specifically noted to have been the only one who transformed with his relic!) so he thought "why not" and designed Hegemongard to work around a similar crest stone?

It'd be the cheapest explanation, but come on, we're talking about the same devs who gave Marianne the power to speak to animals... when Linhardt and Hapi's support chain mention that this power was originally Timotheos'... Was the DLC retconning Marianne's existence 8 months after the release of the base game, or what?

As for Luca not having a crest, maybe he shared his crest with another Nabatean (maybe he was another water dragon but Indech was more well-known around?) so every "water dragon sign" became "Crest of Indech" instead of being "Crest of Luca".

The identity of the Saint said to have been slained by Maurice, Nopes implies Momo killed them during the battle of Gronder (in 46? 45 years before Tailtean?) but concerning the number of saints, well, the FE16 artbook has this thing :

The first coffin on the left mentions... 16 saints???

(the one below mentions 4 "holy warriors", I guess they're the 4 Saints aka Cichol'n'co).

Was Luca one of the "16 saints"? Was he a shifter, who were the other 15 ? Gajus, Marcelle and Iris and the other named golems, were all saints Nabateans or some of them were hybrids or even humans with crests? Was Flayn's mom one of those 16 saints?

Everything's fair game since we won't have confirmation about this stuff (but we sure needed umbrellas or Fraud's real name revealed in an interview bcs who gaf about lore from the game, especially when it concerns nabateans?)

That all those accidents are just them going after anyone who may have actual Nabatean heritage.

That's maybe me cooking nonsense with the Nuvelles being Nabateans hybrids, but that'd fit with their "need" to hide who they are, aka Noa's scions from the Empire itself, if they think the Empire is compromised by Agarthans.

Or, if we want to hc a Fodlan where "everything wrong" doesn't have a single cause, I hc'd that humans would be worried about hybrid nabateans existing, since their existence would threaten/ruin the classicist system they tried to base their countries on (especially Adrestia) : if Rhea's perfectly happy living on her rock, who's to say a Nabatean hybrid, even if it's not one who has a crest of Seiros, wouldn't be a threat to the Emperor who's supposed to rule over Fodlan because of the covenant of the red blood and white sword + claiming to be Seiros and Willy's descendants?

(then Faerghus happens, and they're even more pissed because instead of sitting on her rock doing nothing but preaching nonsense, Rhea now meddles in "human affairs" to prevent further escalation especially since Loog defeated/killed the Emperor instead of supporting Adrestia's right to continue their blood games with northern barbarians)

We know at some point Emperors became paranoiac about Nabateans "sekritly controlling humanity", but I guess, due to their resentment towards Rhea after Faerghus + Agarthans telling them stuff + maybe the entire hybrid!Lycaon fallout that is only kept secret to the masses, I could see them participate and/or hunt everyone who has a chance to be Nabatean!blooded, and not just with a "crest".

Something caught my eye with Maurice the other day. According to Hopes, in the document titled Crestological Mysteries,

“Whenever it became known that someone possessed this detestable Crest, they would suddenly fall ill or meet their end in an untimely accident. Inevitably, the Crest became an unspoken curse...“

“Suddenly fall ill” or untimely accident at this point makes me curious about the involvement of TWSITD. If someone is exposed to have this Crest, TWSITD step in to remove them from the gene pool, like out of all the Crests they want this one to die out. Not helping matters is that they used the Crest Stone of Maurice when making Aymr, and Thales chucks it at Edelgard when he captures her in Azure Gleam.

At this point, I’m willing to bet that Edelgard’s Hegemon Husk form is the result not just of bringing out the full power of her two Crests, but also the Agarthans using it to transform her (And then Thales using their techniques to control Edelgard like a typical Crest Beast). Something about that Crest in particular, one that gives Marianne the ability to communicate with animals, turns even people with Crests into Crest Beasts but still allows them to retain their minds (though Edelgard seems off after her transformation, likely due to her Crests not matching). Maybe what happened to Maurice isn’t because he overused his Relic, but simply because of the specific Crest he had?

Also, it mentions Maurice killing a “holy warrior.” So, a Saint. Thinking he was the one who killed Saint Luca, considering we know the other Saints and Apostles survived. But the strange thing is, there is no Crest associated with Luca and he was implied to be a shapeshifter.

“...As another example, though much said about him is likely fiction, we have Saint Luca and his many offspring. The man loved love, and had great affection for the many children he brought into the world. However, appearances can be deceiving. Was he truly the comely saint? If we consider that perhaps he was simply using some sort of power to change his appearance, then...”

What happened here? If he had many offspring, you’d think his Crest would be a little more common, and this is based on how they were seen by the people of the Empire. Luca was having children with humans. And then there’s Maurice and his sons being said to have sown his wild oats, which is why his Crest just pops up from time to time...

Sothis refers to Flayn as “The Kind One,” but it comes off as she assumes Flayn is another Nabatean in a body she doesn’t recognize. It’s implied Sothis confused Flayn for her mother, The Kind One that Sothis created. We also know there are at least two Crest Stones of Maurice, while there are two Relics associated with the Crest of Lamine (the Rafail Gem and the Ichor Scroll) and the Crest of Charon (Thunderbrand and Suttungr's Mystery). Think the best explanation for this is that Blutgang was made out of one of Luca’s childre with another Nabatean, then Luca fought Maurice during the War of Heroes and died. The Saint that had many children died to a weapon made out of one of his.

The Crest of Luca becomes known as the Crest of the Beast.

“...The Crest of the Beast was inherited by the wild oats sown by Maurice and his sons. They lived on in the shadows of various clans and families, and in particular lords who bore a grudge towards the Empire.”

But at the same time, people who are known to have the Crest end up dying due to the Agarthans. Maybe the answer to why they target the Crest isn’t because of the Crest, but because it could also come from Luca himself. That all those accidents are just them going after anyone who may have actual Nabatean heritage.

Just to be clear, Spinner is not calling Dabi a pansy for wearing a skirt. He's calling him a pansy over the whole set-up, and it's meant affectionately. Same as Dabi calling Spinner a mutant freak. Platonic but affectionately, and if anybody outside their group said something like that, they'd be met with a resolute, "The fuck you just say about my pal?!"

If you saw my Christmas post, you'll know that Ambush Sim Touya is headcanoned to be demi-masculine. Specifically here, he is wearing practical clothing for the weather because it’s hot and not giving a damn what anyone has to say about it. Where did he get the skirt from? He could have borrowed it from any number of people, but where I'm leaning is it's Rei's.

Because appropriating his mother's clothing after she failed him in so many ways is a special kind of petty.

Also for clarity, Momo only made the umbrella. The rest is his own supplies.

Pen-pals to this day

A new request this time by Fregreg!

Have at it!

Marinette Dupain-Cheng has a pen-pal. Her name is Momo Yaoyorozu and she’s in Japan, it started when they were young. There class was doing a program of pen-pals so kids can try to learn a new language and about another culture… and that was how it started their friendship.

Even though the whole thing was over years ago… they continued to write letters to one another as it was fun since Mari was learning calligraphy and Momo was learning Mandarin which Mari was working to learn from her mom as best she could.

And then tragedy struck…

Momo one day received a heartbreaking letter from Marinette. She talked about a liar named Lila Rossi who bullied her and has caused all of her friends to turn on her and bully her too. She also wrote about her crush Adrien Agreste and how he also knew about Lila but wasn’t protecting her at all from the bullying.

In fact, he was also threatening to get her expelled and file a restraining order against her for supposed stalking from her, she swore in the letter she never stalked him and has been doing her best to at least be his friend and respect it if he doesn’t like her back in the end.

Momo became enraged as she reads the letter. It was clear that Lila was smart… she knew the teachers routines and where cameras were and as a result got away with bullying Marinette still… but she was putting it all to an end. Momo soon got to work to create a necklace with her quirk that had a mini camera inside that couldn’t be seen by anyone.

She then got to work to pack the necklace and then wrote a response to Marinette, she spoke about the necklace as a gift and asked for her to always wear it, if possible, without informing her that it had a camera inside. Once she was done, she mailed the letter and necklace to Mari and hoped for the best that it all works out in the end.

And it did…

Soon, Momo checks her phone and sees that Mari got the necklace and put it on. As a result, Momo could now film what Marinette goes through at school while secretly working on a way to get Mari out of Paris and to Japan to be safe. Within a week, Momo had enough evidence thanks to the necklace to get the entire class in trouble for the pain they put Mari trough.

She then contacted Mari’s parents with a copy of the footage and offered to pay for Mari’s plane flight to Japan if they agree to pack her things up and send them to the address she gives them. They both agree and quickly begin to pack all of there daughter’s things while she’s still in school before working to mail it off like Momo asked.

When Mari returns home, Momo forwards the footage to the correct authorities of Paris to take care of the school and class for failing Mari while her parent’s help her pack the last of her things and take her to the airport for her flight to Japan.

She doesn’t know about the huge investigation that happens at her old school, or about the fact that Lila was expelled and arrested for her actions towards Mari, even the fate of each of her classmates who believed Lila and bullied Mari never reached her… she was too focused on talking to Momo for the first time in person and getting to know her new classmates to even take the time to find out about any of it.

Afterall… her pen-pal was more important that her bullies…

A Ken Takakura having anxiety over real world issues hurt/comfort fic if anybody cares

Okarun is struggling with the thought of having to not only deal with Aliens, but also worrying about real current world events with real life ramifications. As if fighting Aliens and ghosts on the daily wasn't already scary enough.

Can Ken overcome his anxieties before he sees Momo tommorrow?

Will she still want to see him?

Will she still thread her fingers with his whenever their alone knowing what he knows?

Ken stayed up all night tossing and turning.

Completely restless.

His nails were bitten down to where his skin was as his eyes glazed over multiple websites explaining how the effects of global warming were going to be irreversible.

“If the anxiety over aliens and ghosts attacking me and Momo wasn’t enough, now I have to come home and worry about the news cycle showing how everything is going to go to shit! Never mind protecting Momo from the supernatural, how can I stop pompous billionaires from polluting our earth until it’s practically unlivable!!” Ken mulled. Pensively balling up his fists as he huddled under the blankets for warmth.

He then found his transformation creeping up on him. "Boo, this fucking sucks yo. I'm so god damn depressed that I might as well kill myself before the planet gets even worse yo" he brooded.

His eyes closed shut as he opened them again to glaze over how some articles were saying it is already too late to fix global warming. Game over for the rest of time.

The earth would be completely unlivable in the future. For future Momo too, his one precious friend, this wonderful human being, his first ever major crush. His heart fluttering every time she would purposefully brush her fingers against his.

It's become a staple for them, their little game when it's just the two of them sitting side by side. Her fingers drumming over his hand, as he blushes red. Until she finally rests her hand over his as they both enjoy each others presence.

Her future was going to be stolen before she could even grow old! Him and Jiji becoming lifelong pals was going to be cut short!

you might also be wondering, who the hell would want this? Apparently I did enough to want to write the damn thing. That being said I hope you like it. I tried to throw in some comedic moments, some mayhaps being unintentional.

Oh, and fluff, lots of fluff and more to come. It's also just Okarun and the gang in general dealing with anxieties of current events, but there is a silver lining. Nothing too out of universe btw.

I also ended up really enjoying the process of writing Aira's character, all of them are super fun to write. I hope you don't mind my characterizations of them too much.

I have this different (platonic) ships I have and was wondering about your thoughts on them since you really know the characters! I don't like shipping non-compatible characters so your thoughts on if they'll get along or not would really help!

The platonic ships are:

Baku&Camie (I feel like he would put up with her slang bc of dealing with Denki)

Melissa&Deku (They would totally [and did] geek out on tech/quirks)

Baku&Ocha (He already acknowledges her strength)

Kiri&Tamaki (They already work together with FG so I like to imagine Kiri begging Tamaki to spar with him)

Momo&Iida (With being Class president and vice, I feel like they would hang out a lot and develop a friendship that way)

Sero&Todoroki (Todoroki is pretty dense romantically and I think the same applies platonically, but Sero probably approached him after the sports festival because he found him interesting)

Mina&Jirou (Mina helps with Jirou's style and Jirou teaches Mina an instrument [I like to imagine the uke, but maybe something else would suit her better-])

Anyways! These were just some of my platonic thoughts because I've noticed how crazy the fandom is with romance and thought why not mix it up a lil with asking your opinion on them!

So I love these! I’m big on platonic ships.

But here’s the thing,

Bakugou is friends with all the girls (whether he’d admit it or not). Canonically, he gets along with them because they simply do not care about his little attitude issue. My favorite platonic Bakugou pairing is him + anyone in the rich kid club. (Momo, Iida, Todoroki, & Jirou)

Melissa and Izuku but also Monoma (If he can figure out how to stop being a dirt bag). I feel like they all geek out about quirks, especially Monoma because he wants to try them.

Kirishima and Tamaki are already sweet on each other. They both push each other to be better and Kirishima likes to take him on little introvert adventures to make him feel good. (Book cafes, walks, etc)

Momo and Iida, I feel like they get along outside of school very well, but often they’re together for things like press conferences and business meeting, same with Bakugou and Todoroki.

Todoroki and Sero are friends, but I think there’s a very specific dynamic they have. Tired friend + Snarky friend.

Jirou and Mina are BESTIES. Typical yapper+listener friendship. Can be very messy with gossip lol. They are normally who plan dorm activities (movie night, game night, birthday parties, etc). The equal opposite to their friendship is Kirishima and Kaminari.

Sero and Ojiro are best guy friends, they can talk about just calm, normal things. Low energy pals.

LMAOOOO i'm not super creative!! they get adapted from by others... like nikooj (or enlightenmeat which was still a friend's idea and not mine). so the uramichi x niku name (as adapted by others is) uraniku/uranikoo but if i wanted to go in the same vein as enlightenmeat... UNFORTUNATELY THE FIRST THOUGHT IS ACTUALLY 'ROADKILL' OF ALL THINGS. T_T let me workshop it a little longer.

i think that i've never really actually super thought of it it because i think i was thinking of doing an ocship (with my baby girl princess kira no less) more than selfshipping. the lore there is actually really hilarious imo. mostly because kira's brothers are the type of hilarious people that uramichi would hate dealing with.

this is actually super hard because like. it's extremely hard to think of HOW we'd meet. i don't wanna do overlap so i don't want it to be like how i meet gojo or deku in their respective selfships. and I DON'T WANNA DO NEIGHBORS SINCE U KNOW I HAD A NEIGHBOR AU FIC I WANTED TO WRITE.

anyway, after some brainstorming on discord with some pals, uramichi and i would be introduced to each other by some friends we have in common, or rather, i have plucked my beloved moda and their beloved momo (from idolish7 which has now be canonized in uramichi world lmao) and they decide to set us up. kind of. maybe. they both invite us to go to yakiniku on a covert double date (actually moda has invited me to go with them and momo before but i have refused on account of not wanting to be a third wheel).

both uramichi and i separately clock that we're essentially being set up on a blind date immediately when both moda and momo suggest it to us but both decide to still go for our own reasons (me because moda tells me that momo has offered to pay for everyone and uramichi 1) to prove to usahara he does indeed have friends and 2) he's ultimately incapable of telling anyone who isn't usahara no).

i think that first double date is kind of... awkward. i'm honestly not particularly outgoing and neither is he and momo and moda do a lot of heavy lifting at the beginning...... i think the conversation 'takes off' (as much as it can take off for two socially awkward introverts) once we get into talking about hobbies. and moda and momo kind of watch us in amusement lmao.

it would probably be a very slow start, with a lot of nudging from momo and moda who thought things went very well. we probably run into one another randomly at some point and have go out to eat or hang out or something. maybe drinking. well. he drinks and while i don't really drink, maybe i have one or two since i'm a social drinker LMAO. i think the dynamic is kind of sickly sweet and wholesome ahahaha. uramichi doesn't really activate the tsun in me, but i think once we become closer he teases me a little as a treat. LMAO.

i think i'm generally fairly good at navigating personal landmines so i don't think i'd step on one of his but the lore need some drama so i probably do at some point...

IDK WHO CATCHES FEELINGS FIRST. i think we probably have an idiots in love sort of thing in which we don't think the other is interested (usahara and kumatani are trying to convince uramichi otherwise but failing). it might be a case of he catches them first but i realize first. he's probably pretty deep in denial. some jealousy aspect needs to get involved tho. idk how yet, i need to cook on that more, but i need jealous uramichi. i think he'd be like an angry sulky cat. no i need him to get so jealous he drags me away all dramatic ASK ME THIS AGAIN LATER I NEED TO REALLY COOK ON IT.
