sorry if you're not into writing this anymore but I've been having thoughts about sara (smiles and promises), and even though I know you almost certainly didn't write her this way, I've always kind of hc'ed her as a trans girl. wondering if you had any thoughts

hi! I haven't been writing.... well anything lately, because brains are assholes but it's not like I'm Not Writing It on purpose, and I definitely don't mind questions!

I hadn't ever thought about Sara as a trans girl, but there's no reason she couldn't be. I know she has a somewhat strained relationship with her parents, mainly because they're very invested in being Good Middle Class Citizens and don't like Sara hanging around with poor kids like Rokia and Matt. (They are Thrilled!! when Jake starts dating an ex-Peacekeeper D2 Doctor which makes Jake roll his eyes a lot). Point being, they'd think about her being trans as one more way she's being Difficult and not going along with how people are Supposed To Behave, and that'd exacerbate the weirdness.

Anyway, it's fun to hear how other people think about my characters, so thanks for asking!

So, for anyone who has had the chance to talk about writing with me lately, I have definitely mentioned that I took up this 200-words-a-day May challenge. The goal was to write 200 words of fic every single day. And I did it!

I was in such a rough writing slump, but hitting this goal every day was manageable (200 words is not a ton!) and I often surpassed it because I would get in the groove. I ended up writing 7,710 words. 201 words on my worst day, 469 on my best.

Also, studies show that hitting a goal makes you more motivated! And fic writers need all the motivation we can get!

So many fics that I was struggling with I either finished or am 80% of the way there. Cannot recommend this enough, it got me back into enjoying writing and taking the pressure off myself.

May Writing Challenge

This May I want to get back into writing. I’m not at all consistent. I’m at a point where I don’t feel like I can work on bigger things, because I can’t guarantee myself to keep working on it in a week from now. So I will take this month as a training month to get back into the habit of writing. I will do this by writing (or trying to write) 200 words every day. Topic is irrelevant. How great my writing is that day is irrelevant. Just 200 words written down. A habit taking 21 days to form was debunked, it does take a lot longer, but 31 days are a start I would say. These are already 140 words, so 200 words every day are hopefully manageable. You're more than welcome to join me if you like 😊

Kissed him fiercely and used his tongue and everything— before vanishing into the forest without a trace, taking with him a flower that had been pinned to the other’s chest, given to him by his beloved sister.

This excerpt is from Choose-a-Fic, coming to you tomorrow (🤞🏻) for this sleepover weekend.

Your skin feels too hot, your head clouded by bubbles and loud poppers exploding into the sky. Shedding this satin dress and getting into a warm shower sounds like heaven, washing away the buzzing ill-content flooding your body since you joined the wedding group hand-in-hand with Bob that morning. But a broken zipper interrupts those plans. “Bob?” He stills on his way to the bathroom, bow tie loose around his neck. You indicate to the stuck zipper you’re fiddling with, warmth flaring at the top of your cheeks at your predicament. The tips of his ears flush as he walks to you, chest a breath away from your back, admiring the way the satin flows over your curves and dips. Takes a moment to gather your hair over your shoulder before reaching for the zipper. The skin of his pinky accidentally brushes your neck, twin breaths catching at the shock.  Firm fingers guide the zipper onto the track. As they guide the cool metal down your back, the boiling point that has been simmering below the surface since yesterday afternoon comes to a head. The lace of your bra is visible. Now the silken band of your underwear. The air of the room is still, eagerly awaiting what happens next. While his voice is shaky, his words are firm. “I don’t want to pretend anymore.”

i think about huaisang's rage a lot. it's not loud or boisterous like his brother's, not escalating or expeditious like jin guangyao's. it's like a breeze, silent, almost untraceable, but there. it's a rage that waited over a decade to age into fine wine, a rage to not only hurt but destroy.

Lan Wangji is the second in command and the heir of the Lan Group, he is known for his serious, rigid personality and for having little to no expression whenever talking to anyone, including his own older brother.

For years his enemies tried in vain to find a weakness to explore, they even tried to bribe the man he supposedly hated the most only to come back with empty hands.

Until one day this hated man, Wei Wuxian, and Lan Wangji eloped, surprising everyone, even their families and closest friends. They all thought those two hated each other, only to realize it was their weird way of flirting.

So when the opportunity arrived, Lan Wangji's enemies kidnapped Wei Wuxian, tying his hands together and pulling him inside an unregistered black van with heavily tinted windows. And when they strapped him to a chair in an abandoned warehouse somewhere at the edge of the city, they decided to use his phone to call his husband.

"Wei Ying." came the weird soft voice of Lan Wangji through the phone, making the kidnapper hesitate.

"We have your boytoy." he said at last.

"I see." Lan Wangji's voice was emotionless, a bit cold, the tone they were used to hear "Good luck." and then he hung up the call, leaving the kidnappers speechless.

What the hell Lan Wangji was thinking? Didn't he love his husband? Was he really leaving him to die?

The turned back to their victim only to be completely shocked when Wei Wuxian was massaging his released wrists, a small amused smile on his thin lips.

"Man it's been a while." he chuckled "Oh, well"

When sunrise came, Lan Wangji woke up with Wei Wuxian sleeping on his chest, a serene expression on his already clean face. Burying his noise on that glossy hair, he realized his husband had taken a shower before coming to bed.

Smiling, he kissed his Wei Ying's forehead and got up to start his day.

If you're interested, I really hope it's not with the expectations that it'll be similar to MO. I really wanted to try out different things with a new character and had a lot of fun with the process!

Be sure to heed the general warnings, and if you're sensitive to body horror,,, maybe sit this one out hjhs (tbh it's my first time attempting it so it's probably not even that graphic but just a heads up! There will be mentions of fleshy things!)
