How did you start shipping Sangcheng? (Just curious, since I started shipping because of you

after finishing mdzs i went nosing around for more dogfood on ao3 (as one does) and was just reading wangx!an here and there. From the beginning I had already liked JC’s character, though i wasn’t obsessed with him (yet). But by that time i was also frequenting the mdzs subreddit often which is/was rampant with jc antis and gradually became more and more JC biased (they were the ones that ultimately turned me into a defense attorney for him; great job morons 😜)

Anyways i became interested in reading JC focused fics and quickly found my way into x!cheng territory, (I remember being pretty perplexed that it was so prevalent bc i had honestly been under the impression that x!yao was a canon hinted side-pair by the end of the novel??) but after reading a handful of those fics I decided that i didn’t feel much of anything and didn’t like the fandom’s portrayal of them so i moved onto the next JC ship with a lot of works (which is sangcheng💕) and clicked on one of the popular ones and then the gods floated down to me, caressed me by the face, and said, “my child this is where you belong”

like i swear to god it was like a switch flipped in my head the moment i started reading…it was love at first sentence. And tbh I was also neutral about nhs upon finishing the novel too and barely remembered him (bc he only shows up a handful of times and wwx also doesnt give af abt him post res so he hadn’t made a lasting impression on me) but reading fics with him made me realize how badly i had slept on him and nmj 😭 niebros forgive me 😣

so yeah tldr i read one (1)☝️ sngchng fic and instantly got converted into sangchengism 😇💜💚

Bishy, what is your opinion on Chengyao (Jin Guangyao x Jiang cheng)?

i definitely see the potential and get why people like them together but i personally cannot see jiggy ever liking JC like that tbh so for me it’d have to be one sided on JC’s end. imo JC has too many issues/baggage for jiggy to want to bother with him at that stage in his life i’m sorry 😂 i’m more open to them in a modern AU tho 🤔

and though i like the co-parenting + rivalry aspects of chengyao, it just doesn’t give me the same level of angst that nieyao/3zun and sangcheng/xiancheng do 😔

How were you introduced to Danmei?

through mdzs! ironically i had always known about wangxian on some level for years bc i followed a lot of fan artists that drew them and had some of the adaptation’s ost music saved on YT, but i never bothered to look into what they were actually from until my friend started reading tgcf in earlyish 2023 and mentioned mdzs and i was like 👁️👄👁️ what’s mdzs…

so i looked it up and finally made the connection that it’s where wx are from and then read one of the novel’s fan TLs and the rest is history! :^)

i mean i’m not like some big personality with a huge following to the point where people would want that from me?? like i don’t really think i have ‘fans’ per say, just people that like what i create? 😅
