hmm…for mdzs one of my fav canon moments to fixate on that no one else really talks about is when NHS grabs Jin Ling in Guanyin Temple and pulls him away from JGY when JL tries to rush him….like…why did he do that….was that him protecting JL or was it him trying to stop JL from interfering? We Don’t Know…NHS the mystery that u are…. and honestly just the fact that NHS canonically touches JL makes me happy lmfao like yes i will use this for my sangcheng agenda thank you author

and for scum villain, i feel like the fandom has thoroughly analyzed almost every aspect of the novel lol but i will say that one of my fav moshang moments where MBJ picks up SQH like a baby chick and protects him is often overlooked because of “Fuck! he can’t fly!” scene happening right after that Ask game

Hi anon!!!! 💖 i've briefly answered this before but i'll go into more detail this time~ answer is under read more!

i def enjoy it, but i’m veeeeery selective about it. (ive never read it outside of a fanfic setting though, so idk if it's different in novels and stuff)

Things I don't like:

i don’t care for the forced gender roles/stereotypical take that some people go for where it’s just “Alpha = masculine possessive dom & Omega = feminine helpless sub + what if cis men experienced misogyny and omegas are all subclass citizens” bc the social commentary is redundant and usually just depressing imo. So i prefer a setting where it's normal for both men and women to have secondary genders/get pregnant and have pups or whatever and there's no discrimination involved or it's just very minimal and not the focus of the story

i also don’t like the non-con ones unless done well. often times they’re too cringe for me

anything where they call each other Alpha/Omega/Beta instead of their actual names lmao

i’ll only read heat related ones if it’s established relationship bc i don’t like it when the heat is used just to facilitate a relationship.

i don’t usually like collars or heat-runs involved either

for fanfic i’m also really picky about what certain characters’ secondary genders are. bc tbh sometimes ppl make them either super stereotypical or too ooc. like for danmei fic i would only read an omega!JC fic if it’s XianCheng, bc everything else makes him act like a 90’s anime Uke. tho there’s a sangcheng author that has written omega!JC x Alpha!NHS pretty well but i can’t really vibe with Top!NHS (for reasons i’ve previously mentioned) and it's rare to find fics with bottom!Alphas/top!Omegas lolol. And for the main mxtx cps (Wangxian/Hualian/Bingqiu) i p much only fw the gongs being the omegas and the shous being the alphas lmao

As for what I like about it:

There are no rules—you can do anything with it!

It can be incredibly kinky and sexy or super sweet and fluffy or both!

Playing around with people giving into their natural instincts and stuff can be entertaining

Pheromones and heats + suppressants/blockers are fun to mess around with

Life bonding mating bites (i prefer it when they bite each other so it's mutual ownership/proclamation of belonging instead of only the alpha biting the omega)

Pups; I like mpreg and baby fics what can i say lol (tho i gravitate towards settings where the female alphas and male omegas have both reproductive systems and there's no butt babies or whatever)

Scenting & nesting (it's so cute 🥺)

I like when authors go against the traditionalist ABO norms too, like i remember reading a 3zun/nieyao omegaverse fic with A/A sangcheng in the bg and they were so sweet together

and yeah. i may or may not have started my own sangcheng omegaverse fic last year that i work on randomly from time to time 🥸
