Hi! Im glad you asked.

Im actually a mixtroject in a system, and reality checking can be very harmful. Its overall just very rude, and depersonalizing.

Reality checking is when you “bring someone back to reality.” Like basically if its a fictive or IRL, a reality checker would try to convince the other into thinking that they arent who they are, which again, could be very harmful.

Sorry this isnt really the best explanation?! But thats the best i can explain it at the moment, hope that clears things up!
