One Dress a Day Challenge
October: Silver Redux
Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (s1 e6, "Ruddy Gore") / Essie Davis as Phryne Fisher
This stunning dress is referred to as the "Silver Lady" by @phrynefishersfrocks, who did a terrific writeup of the whole outfit with lots of attention to the coat and headpiece. For this post, however, I'm focusing on the dress itself. The material is just amazing! I've included a closeup to show the texture, embroidery, and beadwork.
Phryne seems to favor this sort of asymmetrical neckline. Compare with the purple dress from "Murder on the Ballarat Train," which has a mirror image of the construction.
By the way, here's what Miss S wore in the equivalent episode ("The Haunted Theatre").

So, season 1
I had a blast
😁
Still somewhat reeling from the last episode tbh
So, what have we learned (other than the obvious that I love all the characters, who I refuse to rank because 😍 to them all)?
Phryne is a goddess, obviously. I suppose what I admire is that she has taken life by the horns. She is a fighter who still cares SO DEEPLY. She does not want to commit to one man (allegedly lol). But also I have a much better idea WHY she loves being (is compelled to be?) a private investigator. She can save others from suffering the fate she and her sister endured, she can save lives, and perhaps she can attone for the guilt she feels about not being able to solve the ONE case that mattered to her more than the rest. And with that solved now (?) what next?
Jack, arghjhgfdsjyhhgdjfh. Seriously :((( So, we have learned less about Jack. He is, after all, not the main focus and is unlikely to let slip much information unless under duress. He is a man of honour (to the point where I want to drop kick him, but we all have our crosses to bear). He went away to war a bright young thing, I suspect, and did not return the same. And while I find his wife's choice to leave him 😡, I am not blinded to the fact that she may have been dealing with too much to cope with and might not just be a heartless monster :/ I have no idea which one of them started divorce proceedings, or even if they are at that point yet. How long does that last? How long do I have to watch Jack manfully resist the urge to ravish Phryne. Can he cope? Can I cope? Will it be three fecking seasons? Probably 😫 I also know he is an honest copper who has compassion for some of the people he brings in. But do not cross him and DO NOT THREATEN PHRYNE. He WILL run down corridors screaming her name and he WILL fuck you up if you hurt her or anybody she loves! (that seems to go both ways)
Phrack - 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Obviously the sexual tension is delicious. Watching the restraint makes me hold my breath. It is also very 🥵 And don't think I haven't noticed, Phryne, that you've been dating a LOT less men recently! Small things I loved: I loved that Phryne asked for Jack's help. That must have taken a lot, to let him see her scared. I loved that Jack tried to make her believe she wasn't to blame for Janey's disappearance but when she wouldn't budge he didn't push. He knew that it would only make it worse and then did his utmost till the end of the season to help her. I love the fact that they respect each other so very much. And while they clearly want to jump each other at any given moment, they do not. Obviously this is to torture us!
Dot and Hugh (Dugh? Hot? Hottie? Yeah, Hottie I bet that's it 😆). I am kinda dreading bumpy roads ahead. I mean, they have had such a sweet early relationship, something is bound to put a stick in the spokes of their bicycle. I hope not. I have enough to deal with watching Phrack I don't need Hottie angst! Anyway, Dot has become even braver, and even MORE loyal to Phryne. Hugh has become even softer on her, if possible. And while he still has a dangerously weak stomach, he is gaining confidence (and bullet wounds). They are still wholesome and sweet and a rare sighting of out-of-uniform Hugh was a treat at Phyrne's birthday party 🥰 (because let's face it, that helmet does the guy NO favours 😆). EVERYBODY needs to be more sympathetic when Hugh is shot next time or I will be having words!!!
Jane. Well, obviously people are going to have to stop kidnapping her or I may have a heart attack. She's really turned into a wonderfully intelligent, sweet, brave girl. She is VERY lucky to have found Phryne, and Phryne is very luck to have her 😊
Mr Butler continues to be amazing, particularly when he's out of his tree on hash fudge 😆 but I can't help feeling he's going to be having some trauma from him being incapacititated by fudge, and then milk, and totally missing Foyle when he was in the house. I do hope he doesn't beat himself up too much over that 😞I hope he finds a new lady friend to help him get over his wife's death.
Bert and Cec look smashing in their penguin suits no matter WHAT they might think. I do very much enjoy Bert's sneaky little 😏 expression. And the poor chap has lost all his friends except Cec recently so I hope Cec is looking after him!
Aunt Prudence continues to be a force of nature. How rich IS she? That house and the grounds was HUGE!!!! It was very entertaining and touching meeting the extended family 🥰 and that episode was proper freaky. I am NOT one for costume balls, they are inherently freaksome 😕 I love Phyrne's relationship with both her cousins. And I hope we see them all again.
This is obviously not everything but this is already quite long. So, see you all in season 2
🥳

M: And I think that it’s a wonderful example of how much of feeeeelings in a visual medium is really dependent on chemistry between the actors?
A: Oh yes.
M: Because, you gotta look at them, and look at season 1 and think, the writers wrote to this. The writers looked at this gift of partnership that they had between these two actors and they said “Wow. We’re going to milk this for everything it’s got.”
A: Hell, yeah.
F: Oh yeah, and then they basically just realised that they could do almost nothing except put them in a scene together with no dialogue and just have them have eye sex.
AJ: Yeah.
A: Oh god, the eye sex in this show!
F: Long long minutes, there’s so much eye-fucking.
A: There’s so much eye-fucking in this show, and it’s, I think if I had to pick one show to be like the top, Grade-A eye-fucking, it would be this show.
F: They drag it out so beautifully, you get to the third season and you are basically rolling around, on the ground, like [voice deep with emotion] “Pleeease! Just push your faces together. Please.”
A: Pleeease.
AJ: At that point too, I, at least speaking for me, and the people I watched Miss Fisher with, we were so invested in their friendship and their broader relationship that it wasn’t even the kissing, although, God, I screamed and like launched myself from my chair during one of those kisses and sort of melted on the floor, but it was more just like, I wanted them to sit down and acknowledge the powerful dynamic that they had and how important they were to each other. And they’re both cagey about it for a long time, as much as they’re flirtatiously.

I’m so guilty of missing Elle out of my last post so here is why I think she was such an important character in season 1 in order to set the basis for the show and how, in my opinion, her journey represents the journey of the audience
At the beginning of the series, Elle seemed almost hopeful about the BAU and was very eager to make an impression on Gideon. She was determined and optimistic to make her mark on the team and to carve her place.
She was successful in this too and she made her mark clearly, especially with Reid and Morgan who both seemed to trust her immensely and consider her a friend quite quickly.
Despite this optimistic view on her job, she began to notice cracks and point them out to the audience, and these cracks were how law enforcement dealt with women, particularly female victims. Whilst the men on the BAU tried to sympathetic, they lacked tact and there are multiple episodes where Elle recognised this.
Despite this, she still remained positive in her involvement in the team and tried to fill in these cracks by herself as the only female field agent on the team at the time. That is until the Fisher King.
During the Fisher King, Elle realised just how flawed the team was; not only the team but the system itself.
She tried to call out for help but the only one who seemed to show up was Reid and as a 24 year old with a limited view, he wasn’t much help. She was completely alone and she realised that she was feeling the same loneliness that the victims she helped everyday was dealing with.
She tried to come back to the field, but as she watched the system continue to fail women and leave them vulnerable, she felt her own fear and took matters into her own hands, which would ultimately lead to her leaving the team as she would have no choice to.
Her story hits the audience with the fact that what they are watching is not justice being served; it is not a perfect crime show. They’re watching a team which is flawed be part of a system which is flawed and it forces the audience to view the victims in a different light as we were able to see their fear through Elle’s eyes.
The issues Elle raised also foreshadow the issues that’ll be faced in the exact season she leaves in. She raises the issue that female victims never actually get justice, and we see this in Season 2 episode 18 after she has left. She also raised the issue that the team were not there to help her when she needed it, and Reid suffers from this himself also in season 2.
At first, the audience may think of Elle as irrational however later in the season, after she has left, all of her points are proved right.
She was only there for one full season but her character was used very clearly in order to convey the flaws in the show that we are watching and we are made to realise some of the same things she does as she does. She started out with a positive view just like all of us did, but her loss of hope in the system causes the audience to question it, only for her to be proven completely right not long after she is gone.
Idk if I fully made sense there, but she was just such a perfect character

Who I write for /Rules
Masterlist
I'm new-ish to writing (i used to write fanfiction when i was like 13. i'm 19 now and write very rarely) but I really wanna do it again.
So this is a list of characters/fandoms I write for as well as some rules for asks. Some things may be missing from this list so if you dont see something on this list, feel free to ask. :))
Do add as much detail as you want to a request and please ALWAYS have at least some sort of prompt, as i'm really not good with coming up with storys on my own yet.
I WILL NOT DO SMUT SO DONT REQUEST IT! I might however do spicy stuff (Nothing more than making out or somewhat implied stuff tho).
My writing will be mostly pg 13 but please still be careful if the fic-warnings include sensitive topics, and i might repost some 18+ things so be careful when navigating my blog.
Please be nice and have manners when requesting.
Also please include what gender/pronouns you want the reader to have (i write for all genders). If its not included I will default it as gender neutral. :)))
I also write poly relationships and AUs.
Some things I will not write include: Pregnancy, toxic/yandere, student x teacher, love triangles.
(Also english isnt my first language, and even though, in my opinion, i speak it really well, if they are any mistakes, thats why.)

The first stunning outfit of "Death Defying Feats" (Season 3, Episode 1) is a gorgeous draped navy blue sheer fabric with a silk underdress with a single dramatic sleeve attached with a jeweled bracelet, topped with a matching feathered headpiece.
Suitably sensational for the season three premiere, Phryne appears in a tabard made of French navy lace and dark beads creating floral and leaflike patterns. "The fabric in this tabard is simply stunning - it does all the work," Marion Boyce commented in an interview with the Guardian. A 'tabard' simply means a rectangular sleeveless piece of fabric covering only the front and back. The fabric connects on the side with beautiful diamond tabs. Underneath she wears a bias cut midnight blue slip with a straight neckline. An additional triangle of fabric attached to her wrist by a gem encrusted bracelet serves as both a sleeve and a cape as Phryne wafts through her scenes.
Miss Fisher complements her look with a headpiece made of a plume of dark feathers, as well as silk navy gloves and bejeweled blue t-strap heels. Her diamond earrings each have two angled lines holding a large gem between them. To finish it off, as she travels to the theater, Phryne dons a luxurious brown fur wrap with red silk lining to keep warm.
We see this ethereal gown not just in the first episode of season three as she's preparing for a night out with Jack, but also in a large series of promotional photos, worn instead with a curved jewelled hair slide with gems set on slender wires.

The stages so far of me binging the entirety of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (spoilers if you haven’t watched it before):
1. “Yeah, the 1920s hasn’t ever really been your preferred vibe, but so many of your friends like this show, and you love ‘Clue’ which seems similar, so just bite the bullet and go.”
2. “Wait, they’re Australian? What? Did I know this before and forgot?”
3. “Ohhhh right, Miranda Otto was in this! I did know that. And she’s a cocaine lord?! Nice. Don’t get to see her in many villain roles.”
4. *first scene with Phryne & Jack* “Oh, he has a very nice deep voice, okay I see I see mmmhm okay. … Why is so he so sulky, though? Big ‘who hurt you’ vibes. Intriiiiigue… “
5. “OH dEaR oh mY, there is banter and cheeky looks, this is bad, coDE RED, pretty sure this is your LAST chance to exit before this becomes a #problem.”
6. *does not exit* *becomes a #problem*
7. “Oh, so she’s gonna be banging lots of men with no emotional attachment (when there is clearly some tragic past hiding under the surface as to why that might be)? So an emotionally damaged woman who copes with her traumas by deflecting said emotions through sex and other various reckless behaviors? Babe… *cups face gently* babe, babe, babe. You’ve made this beyond a problem now. Because every little glimpse of vulnerability among your extremely out-of-hand savior complex is gonna make me fall in love with you more and more… just like the tall, broody inspector man over there (who still has a very nice voice and sad, kind eyes and who you seem to be afraid of being smitten with for ~*some reason*~). Anyway, Jack and I, we’re both fucked.”
8. Wdym they both have traumas from the war & from past relationships, that they both witnessed an unimaginable amount of loss, and that both are broken so deeply that they built fortresses of ice around their hearts to protect themselves AND YET BOTH OF THEM THAW JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE WITH THEIR EVERY INTERACTION? Fuck OFF! This is not FAIR!
9. “Miss Fisher was actually on her way home.” He said that with a fully clenched jaw and a step forward. Fuuuuccckk, there’s gonna be smoldering jealousy, too? Just slap me in the face, the amount of longing I’m about to witness… Jack, it’s okay buddy, we’re in this together. There’s something special about you and she’s gonna figure it out… after what appears to be several seasons and perhaps a feature film. But she’ll figure it out! Stay strong, soldier! I’m rooting for you!
10. “Oh God, her little sister was murdered. As someone who loves my own sister dearly, that’s fucking awful, this is hurting me deeply, and I really do not like it. 🥺 … AND THE MURDERER IS DUE TO BE RELEASED? AbSoLUTELY not! … WDYM THERE’S ALSO AN ABUSIVE EX?! And he’s come back to MURDER HER over a naked painting of her younger self like a fucking CREEP?!*”
(*not a correct summarization of what happened, but not not correct)
Anyway, I found the tragic past!
11. “Abusive ex is played by Peter O’Brien? With a ‘French’ accent? *snort* I mean, okay, it’s a choice. Anyway… what a douche… moving on… “
12. Aw, they kissed! *claps* And so soon! I mean, it was under horrible circumstances, but it happened… and with lingering looks to boot? You know what, I’ll take it. ‘Cause, I mean, look at them… and like let’s not talk about the juxtaposition of Phryne’s panic over seeing someone who once hurt her being redirected by a kiss from someone who would never hurt her… and Jack subsequently lunging for an armed René to stop him from taking Phryne… we’ll just ignore that for now
13. Felt the “I am not afraid of you” in my bones. Good shit.
14. “You kissed me. … You kissed me back!” Children, please. This is a Wendy’s.
This is as far as I’ve gotten, but omg what a fun ride so far. Friends who tried to recommend this to me for YEARS, I am SO sorry I slept on it. I understand now and your taste is impeccable. *muah*

if miss fisher had a season 4 here would be my ideas for episodes.
I know this will never happen. The show has been over for about 10 years now!
it would be 8 episodes, so 8 ideas, in no particular order.
1- Debutantes- very famous in the 1920s
2- race horse mystery
3- dinner party- cliche sure, but miss fisher style!
4-newspaper - think libeled lady or his girl friday
5- bike riding/ cycling mystery - NATHAN on a bike, as in just a regular bike, Yes
6- telephone mystery- partylines and eavesdropping !
7- an episode we meet Jack's family- we only met his ex- in laws. There could be a plot surrounding it
8- jewelry robbery- again has not been done yet in the miss fisher style!

One Dress a Day Challenge
May: Purple Redux
Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (s1e2, "Murder on the Ballarat Train") / Essie Davis as Phryne Fisher
I had this one on my list for the month but only just managed to track down which episode it's in! So it's really squeaking in under the wire. Worth it, though, for such a spectacular dress.
It seems to have a wrap structure; you can see there are gaps on both sides of the bodice where a piece overlays the front like a bib. The asymmetrical neckline is an interesting feature. I also think the belt ornament is beautiful and unusual--looks like winged roses! Other accessories include a hat trimmed to match her car, a white fur wrap, and a waveable dyed ostrich feather.

the ending (part 1)
Summary: This is how I imagine the story should end if there was a season 4 and/or book 4 or expanded epilogue to the books. This is taking place a couple years after Belly and Conrad's wedding and it is kind of a mix of the show and the books with some extra added things. It's based on this.
Warnings: none that I can think of, except this is basically one giant spoiler, if you have not read the books, I would recommend proceeding with caution because there are SPOILERS AHEAD. otherwise this is just overloaded with cuteness and all the Belly and Conrad married couple content the books didn't give us.
Word Count: 1783
Sunlight streams through the windows, illuminating the whole house in a way the sun only does in the summer. Everything is ready, and everyone will be here soon. I take one last walk around the house, making sure everything is in its place, that everything is perfect. It has to be perfect, just like Susannah would have done it. There's vases of blue hydrangeas that Conrad helped me cut from the bushes outside scattered throughout the house, and the kitchen is stocked with cereal.
I look up at the pictures on the mantle, Conrad and I on our wedding day; Conrad with Jere and Steven; Taylor and I; a group photo of all of us and Laurel; one of Con, Susie and I on the day Susie was born; and a Fisher family Christmas portrait that Conrad absolutely hates; and in the center, a shot of Susannah and all of us kids from the last summer we spent with her here. I smile, reaching up to gently touch the frame with my fingertips. Susannah would be so happy we're having a big Fisher-Conklin family summer at the summer house again.
I open the sliding door and step out onto the back deck, looking out at the ocean and feeling the sun warm on my face. It's warm but not too warm out, and the sky is clear and blue. A perfect Cousins beach day.
"It's a perfect Cousins beach day," Conrad says as he comes outside behind me, shutting the door very carefully and quietly.
"Yeah," I laugh, looking over at him fondly. "It's like you just read my mind."
He chuckles and then he's silent for a long moment as he takes in the view in front of us and the sunshine. "It feels like my Mom is here," He says softly, and I can see the sadness momentarily flicker in his eyes.
I lean towards him, putting my arms around him gently. "Susannah would never miss a summer in Cousins."
"No," He smiles, burying his head in the space between my shoulder and neck, "she wouldn't."
I'm suddenly aware of another person who is also, at this moment, missing. "Con, where's Susie? Did you check on her?"
"She's sleepin' like a baby, Belly," Conrad replies, with that smirk on his face that has always driven me crazy. "She timed her nap perfectly, she should be wide awake and well rested by the time everyone gets here."
"I should go get her ready. Knowing my mother, she will be here exactly on time," I tell him, starting to untangle myself from his embrace. I would stay in his arms forever if it was up to me.
He laughs, thinking this over. "Oh yeah, Laur will definitely be on time. Jere on the other hand, will absolutely be late. Him and Steven both." He turns to watch me open the door and head back inside. "Do you need help with Suz?"
"No, I've got it under control Con. Can you just do one last check and make sure we didn't forget anything?" I ask him.
"We already checked, like, four times, Bel, but you know I'll do anything for you," He can't keep the smile off his face as he follows me inside, stopping to kiss me for a moment, soft and slow. He smiles against my lips before he pulls away slowly and reaches out to push my hair out of my face and tuck it behind my ear, letting his thumb brush against my cheek gently. "I love you."
Hearing Conrad Fisher say those words to me will never get old. Even after all these years, I still get butterflies and blush like a little girl every time he says it.
"I love you too," I smile at him, stealing one last kiss. It feels like getting the last word, getting the last kiss before I go upstairs. I have to kiss the smirk off his face, smooth out his lips, remind him that he's mine. Even though I know no matter how many times I kiss that smirk away it always comes back.
Upstairs, Susie is laying in her crib, just waking up. When she sees me she sits up, reaching out towards the bars on the side of the crib. Her blue eyes open wide, looking up at me and daring me to take longer than five seconds to pick her up. She has her father's eyes and his attitude. It takes me longer than five seconds to cross the nursery, so she pulls herself up, shaking the bars and making fussy, grumpy baby noises, devolving into crying. "Ma-ma!"
"Mama's got you, Susie," I say, lifting her out of the crib and holding her close to me, her little head resting on my shoulder. I rock her gently to soothe her, and her fussing slowly calms down. "I know, I know, it's hard to be a baby."
I lay her down on the changing table and play peekaboo with my hands, earning a smile and the sweetest little laughter from her. As I change her diaper and get her dressed in the pretty little baby sundress I picked out for her to wear today, I can hear quiet thumps and thuds from Conrad downstairs. He's opening and closing cabinets and doors, and moving things around. I smile to myself, knowing that despite him teasing me, he really is doing a final check. I know he wants this summer to be just as perfect as I do. Susie was born at the very end of last summer, so this is the first summer of her life, her first summer in Cousins. I know she won't remember it, but I want it to be special for her anyway, just like Susannah would have.
Susannah would be so happy that there's another little girl in the family, a Fisher girl. She'd be even happier to know that the nursery is in my old room, the one that was once Susannah's childhood bedroom. And she'd be absolutely thrilled that Conrad and I have made the summer house our home. It's my childhood dream come true. For me, this house has always been my home. Living here is like an endless summer in some ways, although every season in Cousins has its charm, especially winter. Waking up every day in this house with Conrad Fisher, I've never felt more at home.
I carry Susie downstairs, now that she's dressed and freshened up. Conrad is in the living room, refolding a blanket and fluffing up pillows on the couch, and his face lights up and breaks into a smile the second I walk in. "There's my girls," He smiles, giving me a quick peck on the lips and taking Susie into his arms. "Look at my pretty baby, all dressed up," He coos to her.
"She's all ready for her first summer," I say, smiling at the baby, "aren't you, pretty girl? All your favorite people are going to be here any minute."
"Yeah, you're so excited to see Uncle Stevie and Uncle Jere, aren't you?" Conrad says, still cooing in his baby-talking voice. "And Grandma Laur-" He's cut off by the sound of a car door shutting outside, and we hurry over to the door together to peek out the window, and speak of the devil, my mother is smiling and carrying some of her bags to the porch. When we open the door, my mother is standing there beaming at us. I don't think I've seen her this happy in a long time.
"Hi Laur! We're so happy you're here," Conrad smiles sincerely at her, moving in for a somewhat awkward hug since the baby is still in his arms. Susie is smiling wide at her, showing off her four little teeth.
I hug her next, and she squeezes me tight. "Belly, it's so good to see you. You're glowing, bean."
"Thanks Mom," I smile at her. "Now put your bags down and make yourself at home. Conrad will help you carry your things in."
"I'm holding the baby though, so I don't know if I can," He says teasingly, smirking. I know he was going to do it anyway, without anyone ever having to ask; he's still the same old Conrad who is all about duty and doing the right thing. But he likes to joke and tease, even when he's fooling no one. Or at least not fooling me.
"Don't worry, I'll take her off your hands, Connie," my mother smirks right back at him, reaching out and taking the baby into her arms.
Conrad chuckles and calls out, "Thank you, Laur!" as he walks toward the door to carry her bags in just like I knew he would from the beginning.
I look back over at my mom and smile. She's smiling at Susie and Susie is smiling right back at her, listening wide-eyed to everything my mother is saying to her. "I'm so glad you're here, Mom," I say to her.
"Me too," She smiles, "I wouldn't miss Susie's first summer in Cousins for the world. Susannah would never let that happen." She looks at Susie, who lets out a little laugh. "She would have loved you, Susannah Laurel Fisher."
Conrad comes back in then, arms full of my mothers bags and sets them down with a thump. "Geez Laurel, did you pack your entire house?" He jokes.
"No, I just packed the essentials, plus I stocked up on all the good bulk stuff at Costco. We should have everything-" My mom looks at all her bags as if she's remembering something. "Oh shoot, I completely forgot my diet Coke."
"Don't worry Laur, we've got you covered. We made sure to get some for you," Conrad grins at her.
"You must have had to drive so far to find it. I used to always complain to Susannah about how they don't sell it here," My mom says.
"Oh it was no problem. We wanted to make sure we had everything for everyone," Conrad assures her. "Speaking of everyone, the others should be here any minute now."
As if on cue, we hear a car pulling up outside. When we all move towards the door to peek out, we see Steven emerging from his car with a big grin on his face.
I guess now I know how the boys felt at the start of every summer, waiting for us to arrive. This is the hardest part, all the nerves and anticipation and waiting. Thank goodness the waiting will be over soon. Jeremiah and Taylor shouldn't be far behind Steven, and once they get here the summer can officially begin.

Phryne fashion tournament: looks one to eight
All credit for research on these wonderful costumes goes to @phrynefishersfrocks.
All caps from here.
Looks nine to sixteen available here.
1. Gold sequin gown (Framed for Murder)
[Image ID 1: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Phryne is shown from the waist up wearing a gold sequined dress in her home. The dress has a wide neck with diamond ornementation. She has accessorised with a gold headpiece in a leaf design and dangly gold earrings. She holds a drink with an orange slice in her left hand. /End ID]
[Image ID 2: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Phryne is shown from behind talking to some smartly dressed men in her parlour. Her gold sequin dress has a low, scooped back and her upper back is highlighted by three delicate gold chains strung across it. /End ID]
Our first look of the tournament is Phryne's gold sequin dress from Framed For Murder's dinner party scenes. It has a wide neckline, the low back scoop accented by three gold across her bare upper back.
2. Duster with hat and red patterned scarf (Death on the Vine)
[Image ID 3: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Phrne is shown from the knees up standing in front of a horse and cart. She wears a cream duster, matching white hat, red blouse, brown skirt and a red scarf with an autumnal floral pattern. /End ID]
[Image ID 4: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Wider shot from the same scene as the previous image. Phryne's brown aviator boots are now also visible. /End ID]
Phryne's classic duster car coat and matching hat make an appearance in look number two. From Death on the Vine, they're matched with a red, autumnal patterned scarf and her aviator boots.
3. B&E beret and grey tweed coat (Dead Air)
[Image ID 5: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Phryne is in an old-fashioned radio studio, wearing a grey tweed coat with white panels, a black blouse, black gloves and a black beret. She has a black and white brooch on the coat lapel. /End ID]
[Image ID 6: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. A close up of Phryne wearing the same grey tweed coat and black beret from the previous image. /End ID]
Our third look is from the climax of Dead Air - Phryne's grey tweed coat with white panels worn over an all-black look and paired with her break and enter beret. It's a classic look, the beret and the coat appearing together previously in Raisins and Almonds. This time she's accessorised with a black and white brooch.
4. Green waltz dress (Death at the Grand)
[Image ID 7: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Phryne stands inside an open doorway, buildings across the street out of focus through the doorway behind her. She wears a green dress and matching shawl. /End ID]
[Image ID 8: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Phryne and Jack waltz in an empty ballroom. He wears a blue suit and brown shoes. She wears a the same green dress as in the previous image. Also clear from this angle are her gold shoes and headpiece. /End ID]
Look number four is Phryne's beautifully cut dress from the waltz scene in season three's Death at the Grand. The sutble pattern on the fabric is offset by simple details like the cord at the neckline and the clasp at the hip. She has a matching shawl but discards this to get down to risky business.
5. Sequin swing coat with black fur trim and B&E beret (Murder a la Mode)
[Image ID 9: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Phryne stands examining an old fashioned camera. She wears a black beret, a black coat with a green and pink sequin pattern and black fur trim and black gloves. /End ID]
[Image ID 10: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Phryne is shown from the waist up in front of a beige wall, wearing the same coat and beret as in the previous image. /End ID]
For look five, Phryne wears this wonderful sequined coat with a flower pattern and black fur trim. Seen when investigating at the House of Fleuri, she's paired it a black camisole and the ever reliable break & enter beret.
6. Silver patterned dressing gown (various episodes)
[Image ID 11: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Phryne sits on bed beside Dot looking at a photograph held up in her hand. She wears a silver kimono with black pattern. /End ID]
[Image ID 12: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Phryne is shown from behind sat on her bed wearing her silver and black kimono while kissing Lin Chung. /End ID]
Look number six is Phryne's silver kimono, the first but not last of her lovely robes to feature in our tournament. This one appears in several episodes, starting with season one's The Green Mill Murder. The silvery white fabric has a black floral pattern. The deep v neck at the back is accented by amber crystals.
7. Lilac damask dress and gold shawl (Queen of the Flowers)
[Image ID 13: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Phryne is shown from the waist up standing outside. Tree leaves and a window are out of focus in the background. Phryne wears a lilac dress with a low neck and metallic pattern, accessorised with a gold shawl, gold bracelet and gold leaf design headpiece. /End ID]
[Image ID 14: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Phryne is shown full length from behind in an open doorway. She wears an ankle lenght lilac dress with a flared hem, a gold shawl, gold heels, and carries a gold handbag. /End ID]
Phryne's lovely gold and lilac look from the end of Queen of the Flowers is look number seven. Her long shawl is complemented by gold accessories.
8. Santa ski look (Murder Under the Mistletoe)
[Image ID 15: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. Phryne is outside in a snowy landscape with a house and trees in the background. She wears a red coat with fluffy white trim at the collar, base and cuffs; a white scarf; a fluffy white hat; and red gloves. She is pointing at something offscreen. /End ID]
[Image ID 16: Screencap from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. A closer angle shot showing Phryne outside in a snowy landscape with trees in the background. She wears the same outfit as in the previous picture, less the scarf. /End ID]
Look eight is Phryne's santa-esque outdoor wear from Murder Under the Mistletoe. An abundance of white fur, even with a matching hipflask bag. What's not to love?

Ultimate Doctor Who Poll Round 1 - Matchup 23
Episode Summaries under the cut
121: Under the Lake/Before the Flood - Season 9, Episodes 3 & 4: The Doctor and Clara land on an underwater base in the 22nd century, and see ghosts haunting the base. They find an alien ship on the base with strange writing on the wall. After checking it out, the ghosts attack them. While running away, the crew of the station brings them into a Faraday cage, which is able to keep the ghosts out. The ghosts are also unable to come out when the base is in day mode. The ghosts are intelligent and are working on programming it to constantly be night. They also sent a distress call, which the Doctor cancels and puts the base on lockdown, as he doesn't want the ghosts to succeed in getting out.
They lure the ghosts into the Faraday cage and trap them inside. One deaf crew member is able to read the lips of the ghosts repeated message, which the Doctor realizes are coordinates to the flooded town outside the base. They also realize the strange writing programmed the coordinates into their heads and are what make people become ghosts when they die. They send out a probe and return a stasis pod that they are unable to open. The changes to night and day mode at the base cause a system error and the base starts flooding. The Doctor and two crew members make it to the TARDIS, but Clara and the remaining crew are stuck on the other side of the flooded base. The Doctor takes the crew back to before the village flooded.
They arrive in the past, on the day the spaceship landed. They see that it is essentially a hearse, does not have the strange writing on the wall, and is manned by an alien whose ghost they saw in the future. He explains that he is transporting the body of the Fisher King. In the future, the ghost of the Doctor appears listing out the names of everybody in the order in which they died, including those who are still alive. In the past, they return to the ship to find the Fisher King escaped his tomb and the writing is on the wall. The Fisher King kills the alien, who becomes the first ghost. He soon kills one of the crew who becomes the second.
They take the TARDIS 30 minutes into the past, to when they first landed. The Doctor makes the remaining crew member wait on board the TARDIS and goes to confronts the Fisher King, who plans to turn everybody into ghosts to transmit a signal for his people to come rescue him. The Doctor bluffs by claiming that he erased the words on the ship. The Fisher King returns to his ship to rewrite the words, but finds them still there, just as a device the Doctor activated blows a whole in the dam, causing the flood. The Doctor enters the stasis pod himself, and the TARDIS returns to the future to avoid the flood.
In the future, he emerges from the stasis pod, and sends out a signal to get rid of the ghosts. He reveals that his own ghost was only a hologram that he projected. The rest of the crew get to safety, and the Doctor and Clara leave in the TARDIS.
129: Closing Time - Season 6, Episode 12: The Doctor goes to visit his friend Craig, who he'd met previously. Craig is looking after his baby while his wife takes a short vacation to rest. After noticing some electrical irregularities and a newspaper article about missing people, he gets a job at the toy department of a department store. Craig runs into him there the next day, and while taking the lift are teleported onto a Cyberman ship, but he reverses it and gets him and Craig to safety. He allows Craig to help him investigate the situation.
They discover that the Cyber-ship crashed centuries ago with a single survivor. Recent electrical work for the shop reactivated the ship and it has been slowly draining power and capturing people to convert. The Doctor makes it aboard the ship and is captured, but Craig follows him. They grab Craig and begin to convert him, but the sound of his baby crying causes a surge of emotion that overrides the Cyber programming and he escapes. The Doctor teleports them out and destroys the ship behind them.
