these mini converters are great. They run off USB power, and they go both ways (as do I), so you can buy them in HDMI2AV or AV2HDMI.
I own a bunch of each flavor, and the best part? Every time you need one, you'll only be able to find the other kind. Need to display modern video on an old TV? You're drowning in AV2HDMI. Need to capture the output of a VCR on your HDMI capture card? fuck you, you only have HDMI2AV now!
I'd easily pay twice as much for one box that could do both.
Maybe I should just buy them in pairs and tape them together

ATEEZ’s Album Collaboration With Hello82 Leads A Virtual Reinvention Of Record Store Experiences
In pre-pandemic times, musicians could grab headlines and turn heads with events for their major releases. Whether it was an album or DVD signing at the (now, mostly shuttered) Virgin Megastores and Tower Records, hosting a laidback interview surrounded by supporters, or hand-delivering merchandise to fans, interactions with superstars never go unnoticed. While COVID-19 has forced these experiences to be downsized or paused altogether, hello82 is looking to safely create similarly multidimensional and interactive moments starting with one of the world’s biggest groups.
While hello82 has been catering to global K-pop culture and fandom by connecting Korean talent with the world through events and multi-language YouTube channels, an exclusive album deal with K-pop boy band ATEEZ can spotlight how the excitement of those same in-person record-store experiences can be translated for an international, online fandom.
In this specific instance, hello82 became the exclusive physical retailer of the collaborative Seasons Songs album between ATEEZ (who are currently a roll with four consecutive No. 1 albums in their native Korea including March’s Zero: Fever Part.2 moving more than half a million copies to date) and legendary Korean singer-entertainer Kim Jong Kook (who broke out in the ‘90s as a member of K-pop/rock act Turbo before adding variety shows and acting to his resume). While the album package itself is a collector’s item with photo cards and cassette tape–style USB inside, buyers also earned access to the exclusive content hello82 is creating with ATEEZ, a virtual fan event, and an entry into a video-call fan sign event where those selected get 82 seconds of FaceTime with ATEEZ.
While these purchases don’t include the same guarantees like an official wristband gets you an autograph at Virgin, the process certainly works for such a digitally plugged in fanbase like ATEEZ’s beloved ATINY fans (ATEEZ was the 10th-most mentioned K-pop act on Twitter worldwide in 2020) and can be more manageable for the size that comes when available to a global audience (Seasons Songs moved nearly 15,000 copies in its first day of sales tracking, according to Korea’s Hanteo Chart).
As the K-pop industry is growing from being digitally focused to entering more traditional media spaces including brick-and-mortar retailers, hello82 sees its path moving similarly.
“hello82 was built to bring K-pop bands access to fans around the world with short-form content on our YouTube channels, in several languages, and expanded to include virtual events and experiences that fans love,” explains Jae Yoon Choi, CEO of Kai Media which is the parent company of hello82. “We are ‘for fans and by fans’ and the next logical step was for us to tap into the physical merchandise space, and tie in exclusivity wherever we can. We have a unique understanding of what fans like us want, wherever they are in the world, and we are building a strong track record of delivering new ways for them to connect with their idols—and each other—through exclusive content, experience and collectibles.”
Choi notes that physical sales of albums in Korea have been rising steadily since 2016, including a dramatic growth from international buyers, with the overall K-pop market evolving “tremendously” during the pandemic of the last year-and-a-half. “Before the pandemic, the typical album release cycle for artists involved promotional activities based largely in Korea...the pandemic has created a new business model that relies on virtual interaction that will continue after in-person activities return because of how much access they give to global fans.”
The CEO adds that the Seasons Songs is an early step in showing the larger vision of how the company can expand and elevate the artist-to-fan experience by going beyond one-time events and even catering to different territories.
“We know that a virtual event can’t be everything and that’s why the tactile experience of receiving an album and other exclusive collectibles is so important for fans to stay involved,” Choi says. “For example, the next ATEEZ mini-album won’t go through an American distributor: hello82 will be selling a version of the album specifically designed for the U.S. market, for American fans with special benefit just for them—Korean fans have special benefits with their album release....we are here for fans and even when they are millions of miles away from their favorite stars. Pandemic or not, we want to bring them closer.”

Chapter 23
I’m so sorry for missing last week! I forgot - honest mistake! You guys have been wanting to know what’s been inside (Y/N)’s package for so long, so I won’t keep you waiting any longer! I hope you enjoy chapter 23!

(Y/N)’s P.O.V.
Out with the old and in with the new.
I think it’s time to redecorate my room and throw some things away. I haven’t really taken down any photos of me and Joel since the whole breakup but it’s been a long time coming.
I feel like I could hear his name now and no longer feel the need to cry. Yes, it still hurts, but it’s gotten easier for the simple fact that I haven’t seen him in months.
I know he’s sorry for what he did, but it still doesn’t change what happened. We’ve got our own lives to live and he’s obviously way too busy to be with someone. Besides, Johann has been a good friend to me in helping me get over him. It’s better this way… right?
Mi abuela once told me that if I can’t get someone out of my head, then maybe it’s because they’re supposed to be there. My heart still reaches out for him, but my head tells me to just let it go already.
Why must I be stuck in this dilemma?
I went straight to my closet and looked through clothes and shoes I didn’t want anymore. I need a wardrobe change anyways, so I’ll just buy something new next time I go out shopping. I folded them up and put them inside a box I had on top of my bed.
Victoria has been really hesitant to talk to me about Chris since he’s friends with Joel, but I keep telling her not to worry about me and that she can tell me anything and everything about the two of them.
Little by little, she’ll open up and tell me all about their late night talks and the things he has planned for them when he comes back home from tour.
It makes my heart smile at the thought of one of my best friends finding love in an unexpected place. It makes me wish that Joel and I were still together and on good terms, but I know that can’t happen.
I’m happy she found someone and I just hope that he’ll love her right.
I walked over to my little vanity and grabbed a spray bottle, watering the flowers Johann had brought to my house recently. Ever since my birthday, he’s been coming by with all sorts of gifts and new flowers every few weeks.
It’s sweet of him to do that and bring more pop of color into my home, but I don’t need flowers to know that he cares. I leaned down and took a whiff of the beautiful scent, bringing a small smile onto my face as I pulled away. They’re gorgeous.
I sighed and grabbed some old trinkets of mine and tossed them into the box. When I’m done clearing out the things I don’t want, I’ll just send these off to Goodwill. Someone out there will have a better use for it then I will.
I grabbed picture frames and laid them on the bed, getting ready to replace them with new and updated photos of me and my friends but I stopped once I saw a photo of me and Joel when we were at the carnival together.
I frowned and traced his face with my fingertip as I thought back to all of the good times we’ve had together.
None of it was fake for me. Nothing was just for pretend or some sort of game. It was real. My feelings for him were real. I shook my head and took out the photo.
The quicker I get rid of this, the quicker it will be to get over him.
I got down on my knees and reached under my bed for a box I keep all my photos in, but was surprised when I took out something I haven’t seen in a few months. “Oh.. hello there..” I mumbled to myself. “I completely forgot about you..”
It was the random package I got for my birthday earlier this year, still unopened. I looked around my room, debating if I should open it now and see what lies inside this mystery box.
I mean… it couldn’t hurt to peek, right? It was sent to me afterall. I looked down at the package in front of me and slid my hand across the top, collecting itty bitty dust bunnies. It’s been a few months.. I think it’s about time I see what’s inside. The weird message still lay on top.
‘Only meant for your eyes’?
What kind of surprises lie for me in there?
I stood up and went to grab a pair of scissors and sat back down on my floor, bringing the package on top of my thighs and slowly tearing open the tape on top.
What’s so special about this gift anyway?
“C’mon (Y/N), it can’t be that bad…” I lifted up the lid of the box and found smaller boxes inside. “Hmm… it doesn’t look dangerous, so that’s a plus.” I placed the package down next to me and reached inside, lifted one of the boxes up to my chest and opened it.
I softly gasped as I looked at the small photos of me and Joel that were hung up on a string, displayed so simple and perfectly.
It showed pictures of when we were making silly faces at his camera when we were under the willow tree. When we went bowling together and I completely destroyed his ass and won… one where we went mini golfing and we were in his element… our carnival date… and random ones he took of me when I wasn’t even looking at him.
I was reminded why I fell in love with him just looking back at these memories he had printed for me. It’s sweet, but he really shouldn’t have done this. It’s like he’s roping me back in. I glanced down and lifted up some of the little notes that were written for me and read them out loud.
“I love your smile. It’s the brightest and cutest thing on this earth. Please don’t stop smiling because of my mistakes…”
“Memory: When we went bowling and you “cheated” so you could win was when I knew I started to fall in love with you. I met someone who was as competitive as me. I met my match… ”
“Memory: When we kissed for the first time, I swear to you, it felt like time had stopped. It was just us two and nothing else mattered in that moment but you… ”
“I love how you’re a little old school. Drive - In movie theatres, bowling, mini golfing.. you made love easy. Next thing I knew, I was head over heels about you. I was a fool to let that go… ”
I could feel my face getting warmer as tears started to well up in my eyes. No, it’s not fair. He can’t do that to me once I’m starting to get over him. I read through a few more until I reached something small and hard on the very bottom. “What’s this?” I mumbled to myself.
I lifted it up and was confused when I found a USB Flash Drive in my hands. I sniffled and looked around my room for my laptop and turned it on once I found it.
“C’mon, the one time I need you to hurry the fuck up, you’re taking forver..” I mumbled at my laptop as I grabbed the USB and plugged it in on the side, waiting a couple more seconds before a document popped up on my screen.
“Dear (Y/N)” is what he named it. I stopped for a moment and sighed, clicking on the document as a video of Joel’s face popped up on my screen. I took a deep breath in and closed my eyes for a second.
If I watch this, then this might change everything. I don’t know if I want to see or hear what he has to say. I’m trying to get over you, Joel and I was doing perfectly fine without you in the picture.
Do I really wanna watch this video just so he could try to change my mind?
I sighed and thought for a few more moments. Yes… the answer is yes. I moved my mouse up to press play and waited for him to come onto the screen. Maybe this is a bad idea…
“Oh God.. I hope this is working..” he mumbled and fixed up his curly locks. “Um… hi. It’s me, Joel. Listen, before you go off and turn this off or throw this package away, please just hear me out. I’m just asking for a couple minutes of your time..”
I covered my mouth with my hand and felt tears welling up in my eyes once again as he continued.
“I know you probably still don’t want anything to do with me anymore and want me to leave you alone, but I can’t for the love of everything holy get you out of my head. I never knew that I could ever feel like this for anyone.”
He sighed and leaned down a bit, covering his face and sniffled. He cleared his throat and looked back up at the camera.
“I fucked up. I lost one of the best things to ever happen to me and I have no one else to blame but myself. It was the stupidest thing I ever did… I wanted to come clean after I realized that what we have.. what we had was something more. It was starting to feel like those cliché romance movies. It was becoming real.”
He smiled for a moment before he frowned again. I felt tears slowly sliding down my cheeks as I hastily wiped them away. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I’m crying. Why do I have to be emotional? Why do I still feel something for him?
“You deserve better… but.. I would like to be that person for you, if you’ll have me. (Y/N), you are not a second choice and I’m so sorry that I made you feel like that. You know.. I actually can’t bring myself to delete the photos of you I have in my phone. I guess there’s a part of me that still wants to believe that I can somehow fix this.”
He looked down at his hands and I noticed that he was holding a small heart shaped box and I wondered what could be inside.
“I waited as long as I could at the airport for you..”
Wait… what did he say? I leaned in close to my laptop screen as he continued talking.
“I waited and it almost ended up with me missing our flight. I couldn’t wait any longer because I was actually physically dragged away and onto the plane. I prayed that you would be there before I left so I could at least see your face.. but, you didn’t show and I got your message right then and there that it was over..”
“No, Joel! You’re wrong! I was there! I got there and Johann told me that you didn’t bother to wait. That you just left without saying goodbye and hopped on without - … ”
Wait a second… no, that can’t be true. Johann wouldn’t.. lie to me, right? He knows how I feel about Joel and how I was willing to just.. omg...
“Despite everything, I want to give us another chance. I want us to start over and fall in love again. I uh..” He cleared his throat and held up the heart shaped box in his hands. “I got you something. Well, a few things. You can pause the video to open them up if you haven’t already..”
I pressed pause and reached into the package, taking out another small box and placing it down on my lap. I feel all discombobulated now. There’s so many mixed emotions going through my mind.
I slowly opened up the box and felt my chest tighten slightly.
I bit my lip and slipped both accessories onto my body, playing with the butterfly dangling from my wrist. I reached for the last box, noticing it was the same small heart shaped one Joel was holding in the video.
“It’s beautiful…” I mumbled to myself as I slipped it onto my finger, admiring the way how it looked on me. It’s a perfect fit. I looked at the pieces of jewelry he gave me and realized that they all match. They’re all butterflies. “Oh Joel… ” I frowned, reaching down to press play.
“Butterflies are known to be a sign of good luck and hope, but for me… well, you know that saying of getting butterflies in your stomach when you’re around someone you love? It’s the same feeling I get whenever I’m around you. It’s another cliché thing, I know but I don’t care. It’s how I feel.” He smiled while looking down at the ring in his hands.
“I love it, Joel. I really do.” I spoke to my laptop screen, as if he could hear me.
“I figured I should get you a set and have them all matching. I know it’s not much, but I saw them and thought of you. (Y/N), over the next few months, I’m gonna be sending you flowers, letters, and treats that I think you’ll like from the places I’ve been to. I’m doing this kind of.. anonymously, almost.” He shook his head and bit his lip.
I looked up at the flowers that were on top of my vanity and my mouth agape. These couldn’t possibly be from Joel, can they?
“Look, I know I don’t deserve a second chance, but a guy can still hope, right? But, if this all turns out to be a flop and that I’ve been wasting time and money for someone who doesn’t want me anymore… I’ll stop.”
I felt my breath hitch in the back of my throat. Stop…?
“I’ll stop sending you ‘I’m sorry’ gifts and leave you alone for good. I won’t bother you anymore and you can be free of me. I wouldn’t be surprised after what I did. This is my last shot. After this… I don’t know. I guess I’ll just have to find a way to get you out of my mind and let you go.”
I shook my head and softly cried. “No, Joel.. no please don’t.. I want you. I want you back..”
“I know this is kind of a long shot, but I want you to come and visit me sometime during the tour. I’ll be sending you flowers randomly over the next few months. I’ll be leaving small messages inside with the time and place we can meet up in each state I’m going to. I have a busy schedule, but I’m making time just for you. If I don’t see you or hear from you within the few months, I completely understand.. ”
“Joel! C’mon, we gotta go!”
“Alright! I’m coming!” He looked up at the person calling his name and then back to the camera. “I gotta go, duty calls.” He gave me one last small smile and sniffled.
“One last thing…” He leaned in and spoke. “Please don’t tell anyone but your friends. Let’s just keep this a secret between us, yeah? I’ll explain more if I see you..”
Why keep this a secret? Does he not want anyone to know about me? If it goes wrong, nobody knows about it but us, is that right? Is that why?
“Joel!”
“Ya me voy!” He sighed and shook his head. “I really gotta go…” He got up and held up the camera to his face. “Happy birthday, (Y/N)... I hope you had a good one.. bye..”
And with that, the video ended and I was left sitting on my bed with a tear stained face. I honestly don’t know what to say..
I bet I look like a fucking mess right now.
I got up and wiped my tears away, going straight for the flowers on top of my vanity and looked for any sort of message or note inside the bouquet.
Nothing.
There’s nothing there.
“Of course..” I mumbled to myself and moved a strand of hair away from my face. Joel has been sending me flowers and this whole time I thought it was Johann. Well, to be fair, he has been coming by with them in his hands. Told me they were “just because” flowers.
Does he know something about this though? Could he have taken out the messages inside and claimed them as his own? Well whatever the reason, I know one thing for certain.
The next time I get flowers from “Johann”, I need to find and read that message. I am not going to miss my flight this time around.
I’m coming, Joel. Just wait a little longer…

Someone's Trying To Fully Restore That Obscure Super Mario Anime
So, as one does when one runs a Twitter account that's centered on video games, I tried to be "part of the conversation" by participating in this year's Mario Day. Generally speaking I avoid hopping on the bandwagon, yet I like retweets as much as the next person, so as with all other similar situations, I use the chance to unload everything that happens to be related and which I've been saving for some time now.
In this case, a ton of various odds & ends from suppermariobroth & smallmariofindings that's been in my war chest of stuff to post... Point being, the day (which might be one of the fakest of fake holidays to be concocted by some company's marketing department in recent memory) was hardly special. That was until I came across a Twitter account belonging to one Stian Schultz.
I honestly don't know much about Stian; he has a homepage that has a few precious morsels of personal information, largely due to the fact that much of his official web presence is apparently offline. Though the placeholder, I guess, tells us that he's based out of Norway and runs a company that handles Norwegian/English video game translations.
I plan on reaching out to him shortly after I publish this point... or maybe I'll wait till this coronavirus deal blows over, not sure which first yet... cuz I need more info on what Stian is doing. Something that has me so excited that I absolutely needed to say something ASAP (yes, this is a transparent attempt at me going "I saw it first"; at a time in which everyone is hunting for game culture artifacts, you basically have to lay your claim ASAP as well).
Anyhow, are you familiar with the Super Mario Bros.: Peach-Hime Kyushutsu Dai Sakusen!? It's an anime circa 1986 and is a loose translation of the very first Super Mario Bros. According to its Wikipedia entry: "It is notable for being the first movie based on a video game, predating the live-action Super Mario Bros. movie by seven years." And a self professed video game cinephile... that sounds about right actually.
Here it is for those who haven't seen it...
youtube
... The above claims to be "Restored" & "Best Quality!", with both descriptors being technically true. At least for right now. But Stian is in the process of fully restoring the rather obscure anime. Actually, from the sounds of it (again, I hope to get more details eventually), it's a project that's been in the works for some time now.
To make it happen, Stian is utilizing elements hailing from "Two VHS tapes, vinyl soundtrack and single, and a cell comic. All digitized through an LG RC185 and an ION iTTUSB Turntable."
Though the heart of it is an 16mm print! Not only that, but also: "The vinyl soundtrack has been re-ripped via a combination of this rega turntable, hooked up through a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 via a rega Fono Mini A2D pre-amp (which has it's own USB interface, but I prefer the Focusrite)."
At the very top of this post is one of scanned frames. Some additional intel: "I want to avoid using DNR filters (no Disney level detail butchery on my watch). Thankfully, since the movie is basically done in doubles, it's very easy to clean up dust/lint -- even horrible splices like this -- by simply using the nearest frame as a partial donor/match.
In the same sequence, despite the tape harming an identical frame, there's still matching duplicates available to use as donors, making it very easy to remove dirt -- and even the tape itself -- whilst [simultaneously] keeping as much of the original frame intact as possible."
"For those curious about technical stuff: Each frame in the current editing flow is at a resolution of 2736x2192(!). The project folder is currently at nearing 300gb(!!). Each manually edited frame is a 22.9 MB tif."
Once again, this all so crazy awesome that I had to share! I hope to sooner or later speak with Stian and provide a closer look at the history of the project, specifics regarding the workflow, and more! Also, apologies in advance if this is old news; been so damn busy with grad school that I haven’t been on Tumblr proper in ages.

Unlocking the Past: How Video 8 Conversion Can Save Your Precious Memories
Many times, videos that are in a certain format need to be converted to another format for future use and a common example would be video 8 conversion to digital formats. Earlier 8mm films were the standard and hence videos shot during those days used those films but now these have become outdated technologies. Hence to preserve such videos for a very long time there is a need for converting them into either USB or other digital formats.
Similarly, mini video tape to USB is another such example and mini video tapes were quite popular during the time when it was launched since they were quite shorter than VHS tapes and offered good capacity to record for amateurs. However, with time USB and digital formats became the mainstay of recording videos and hence for preserving files, there is a need to switch to better video storage technology.
How Leading Video Conversion Companies Can Help Corporates?
Corporate video production plays a significant role in helping businesses communicate their brand story, showcase products, or highlight key messages effectively. Professional video conversion businesses use high-definition broadcast-quality techniques to create media that is suitable and attractive for the intended audience.
These videos are not only designed to engage the audience but also enhance brand reputation. From promotional videos to training materials, corporate video production can be customised for large companies, government agencies, or community organisations to meet diverse communication needs. Also, many times corporate videos need to be converted to lossless and digital format and the leading businesses can offer CD and DVD duplication, conversion and authoring as well.
A Look at Some Video Conversion Services Offered by Leading Businesses
Video Tape Repairs: Professionals are essential for restoring damaged or deteriorating tapes, ensuring that valuable footage isn't lost forever as some video tapes can have one’s children’s memories or some other precious memories. Whether caused by age, exposure to liquids, or malfunctioning video players, damaged tapes can be professionally repaired and restored.
When it comes to video conversion services one must contact the businesses that have the best equipment to recover the video and convert it properly to keep it safe for the future through phone or mail to get more detailed information.

|| Performer pouches are little baggies full of the essentials we take to every rehearsal/class/practice or lesson. We literally COULDN'T live without them. These handy little bags go into our big everyday bags which if you're curious what's in those let us know and we'll make another post about those!!
What’s In Carolyn's:
Mints - I used to be a gum person but then I had braces for three and a half years so I got out of that habit. I also love that you can actually swallow mints or chew them up if it really came to it. I'm spending everyday being within spitting distance of people so I don't want to have bad breath. Also good when you're getting up close and personal with someone inside AND outside rehearsals 😉
Hand Sanitiser - We are really lucky in that our uni has hand sanitiser machines in almost every studio but it still pays to have a little bottle of it on hand when you're walking around. Especially after playing piano, pop some hand sanitiser on because so many people have used those pianos and will continue to use those pianos. My favourite are the Palmolive one in the Cherry blossom or the White Citrus OR any of the thankyou hand sanitisers.
Mini deodorant - I am a dancer. I think thats enough said. We are all very sweaty after a dance class and sometimes you forget to chuck in your full sized deodorant which is exactly why I have a mini one on me at all times. On top of that, Perth is HOT so you get very sweaty very easily, just from sitting there so you don't want to get all stinky and not have a solution. Although, if you don't have a mini deodorant but you do have hand sanitiser that has a cute smell, when you're really in a pinch, you can use hand sanitiser for temporary relief.
Bandaids - Paper cuts, blisters, skin rips and bobby pin injuries. There are a whole host of reasons why you could need a bandaid. So... you're welcome.
Pain killers - once again, a very necessary thing in our industry. MT kids are loud and very clumsy so injuries and headaches are basically a requirement in our course.
$20 cash - for when you forget lunch, your drink bottle, craving a snack, someone is a tad short on cash or after class snackies. $20 can get you a lot and not everyone takes card (what decade are they in?!) so its always handy to have a little bit of cash on you as well as your card.
Charge cable - We use our phones a lot in class to record vocal lines, take photos and videos and googling things very quickly. If you're on your phone all day, its a good idea to have a charge cable. I also find that sometimes, I use my AirPods more than I think I will so I can also charge them with the same cable. Also, SO MANY PEOPLE are always messaging our group chat asking if someone has a charger.
USB - quick file transfer when you have bad or no internet. enough said.
Hair tie and scrunchie - hair ties snap, someone needs a spare one, you need a bun and you've only go a pony tail, your need another hair ie because your pony tail is slipping. There's no many reasons that you might need a hair tie. I also have a scrunchie because I like to have a bow or a scrunchie in my hair 99% of the time if I'm out. I think it just ties a cute outfit together.
Butter menthols / cough drops - sore voice? this helps.
Sticky tabs - Need to remember where you're up to in a read through? need to remember where a song is in your repertoire folder? I don't think there is any need to explain further?
Earphones x 2 - I have two pairs of earphones because one pair has an aux and the other is lightning. We sometimes need earphones in class for our laptops and sometimes my AirPods are at home or flat because they do get a lot of use.
Glasses cloth - I wear glasses, I hate when they're dirty.
Screws and screwdriver - I wear taps allllllll the time and I lose so many screws so this is a quick fix.
Safety pin - broken a strap, leotard straps are too long, skirt has a rip, top is slipping and you're bra is playing peek-a-boo. So so many reasons for a safety pin.
Masking tape - Masking tape is an essential for taping music but it can also be used as a quick fix for a lot of things and is also really good for labelling both clothes and books if you need to.
Lanyard - perfect if you get given something that you have to give back at the end of rehearsals so you can just put it on the outside of your bag and then see it immediately to give it back. Also good when you're meeting a lot of new people and you need a name tag. My recommendation is to have a little card holder thingy on your lanyard with a slip of paper in it with your name on it so you always have a name tag if you need it.
Bobby pins - I don't even need to explain this. I am both a girl and a dancer.
Straw - perfect for cool downs for your voice on the go. Also good for when your voice is getting tired. A few slides and sirens up and down and your voice is good as new.
Blu Tac - perfect for when you're in a practice room and the music stand isn't big enough to hold all your music and you don't want to turn pages, just whip out your blu tac and stick up the music on the wall. There's also a whole host of reasons you can use it. Like if you have fluff on your clothes.
Lip balm - pretty self explanatory, especially in winter. Hydrate those lips because I find it effects my singing and my on-campus lip locking.
Nail file - its so easy to chip a nail, especially when you're dancing. This way you can quickly clean it up on your break so you don't have a chipped nail all day.
Strapping tape and scissors - again, dancer.
PENCILS, eraser and a pen - scripts, music, contracts, paperwork.... you get the gist.
Roll on perfume - cute guy? perfume. lip locking in rehearsal? subtle perfume. dance partnering? perfume. life? perfume
Sports headband - get rid of those fly aways and short bits of hair with a cute headband. Just about every brand sells them. Perfect for rehearsals and when you're doing pirouettes.

The Making of Sterling the Super Furby: A Brief Overview
“I… I can’t look! I think I’m gonna… *HUEEEGH*!”
Before I get into this post, I want to list a few things I didn’t know shit about when I started Sterling:
Electronics
The Python coding language
Furby anatomy
Single board computers
After creating Sterling, I’m happy to say that now I have approximate knowledge of some of these things, but keep the above in mind as you read onwards. This little gremlin child was a learning experience from start to finish, and one I am incredibly proud of myself for sticking through. This also means that I am in no way an expert on everything I’m getting into okay? Okay let’s go!
The Hardware
First, a rundown of the hardware. I took heavy inspiration from the Furlexa mod shown here, and that was what I initially sought to create. The mod had three computer components to it:
A raspberry pi zero w single board computer for the AI to live on, with a mini USB microphone plugged in;
A pimoroni speaker PHAT to use as the sound system;
A motor controller to drive the furby’s motor.
My main problem with Furlexa was that this initial build took a lot of soldering, and I am a wussy who had a number of bad experiences with soldering irons in shop class. So, what’s a novice electrician to do?
Enter the Adafruit Crickit HAT. By sticking this little fucker on top of the raspberry pi, I was gifted with an amplifier, a speaker jack, capacitative touch sensors, and a motor driver all in one, no soldering needed if I bought the raspberry pi zero w h! The main challenge it posed was powering it. The Crickit insists, for some unfathomable reason, on being powered by a bulky DC jack, the kind you’d plug into a wall outlet, and the converter plug to use a battery pack with it was way too bulky to fit into a furby. I needed Sterling to be portable for maximum huggability, so this just wouldn’t do.
One fried raspberry pi and Crickit HAT later, I found the answer! By soldering the original furby battery pack to the underside of the Crickit board’s DC connection, these fuckers right here…
I was able to bypass the need for a wall plug or converter, and power him directly through the battery compartment like God intended. S/O to my friend Nick who is way less of a dumb bitch than I am and helped me figure this shit out I owe u some bread man.
So the tl;dr of it is, I effectively reduced the required computer components from three to two (excluding the speaker). Speaking of (heh), Sterling has an impressive 3w speaker in him, allowing him to be audible even without the use of the built in amplifier. It’s got such good bass on it, he even rumbles when he purrs without the aid of the motor!
And yes, when you pet him, he purrs. And complains if you manhandle him! The aforementioned capacitative touch sensors on the Crickit HAT made it all possible with the help of a few cables and some foil tape.
Wait, did you say soldering!?
Yup! It was a necessary evil; at the end of the day I had to pick my poison: soldering 80 pins on the speaker PHAT, or soldering like four contact points on the Crickit. I chose the more merciful option.
But wait, that whole outfit is really bulky still! How did you fit it inside the furby?
Subtractive methods, subtractive methods, subtractive methods! ;D Someone who actually knows things about furby anatomy and/or electronics will probably vaporize me for this, but… if I didn’t need it, it got the boot! That included prying off anything on the Crickit board I wasn’t using at the risk of destroying it completely - which probably isn’t ideal, but it also worked by some miracle, and again, I am such a basic bitch electrician that calculating the proper voltage for LEDs is still basically witchcraft to me, so… what I’m saying is I made it work. And that I really, really hate soldering! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You can see an early video of the end result here, and a later video of the outfit inside the naked furby here. This was back when he was still having auditory processing issues. Apologies for the shoddy quality, I was too excited everything was working to care about that at the time.
The Software
My other beef with Furlexa is… well, it’s an Amazon Alexa, and I’m a shitty little anticapitalist hermit who hates Amazon with a passion. Google Assistant was just as bad in my book. Mycroft was open source, but had a snowball’s chance in hell of running on the raspberry pi zero’s 512mb of RAM… I also wanted my assistant to have a degree of customizability to it. I wanted the furby’s AI to have a unique personality, identity, and preferences, much like classic furbies themselves did. A big box AI just wasn’t going to cut it!
Enter the Jasper Project. Yes, it’s old. Yes, it’s a bitch and a half to install. Yes, you have to know Python to get anywhere with it. However, it was free, open source, capable of running on a raspberry pi zero, and highly modular, meaning with a few lines of code, I could make it all my own - even to the extent of changing the AI’s name and voice (which is gr8 because I know a Jasper so naming my furby that would be Weird), or - the best part - writing my own, custom functions! Customizability-wise, I struck gold.
Ah, and glad I am that Jasper is modular, because I had some work ahead of me…
The STT Engine
The STT (Speech to Text) engine is what Sterling uses to understand what’s being said to him. Jasper’s proprietary STT engine is PocketSphinx, a fully offline STT engine, which sounded great in theory before I quickly learned it’s a nightmare to install, and also more inaccurate than a stenography machine powered by a single potato when actually being used. I had to compromise my morals a bit here and opt for using Wit.ai instead, which is free, but is also owned by Facebook. Big data is frustratingly inescapable in these cases.
There is one light at the end of the tunnel, and that is the training of acoustic modules. This has the downside of taking for-fucking-ever and requiring a quiet recording environment, however, and I don’t have the time right now to read through the pages and pages and pages and pages of computer theory right now to fully understand how to train one. So, improving PocketSphinx and running Sterling fully offline remains a stretch goal.
The TTS Engine
The Text to Speech engine is basically Sterling’s voice. This one was a bit easier to customize, and I’m thankful for that, because Jasper’s OG voice is a bit er… 90s computing for my tastes.
I shopped around for decent, human-sounding TTS options, and settled on installing Mimic1 TTS, Mycroft’s TTS engine, by hand, and modifying the Jasper source code to support it. Of all the TTS engines I tried, I felt that this one had the most natural intonation out of all of them. I liked the gruffness of the Scottish accent, and I think it really helped round out Sterling’s endearing, if a tad prickly, personality.
The Audio
This was another unforeseen hurdle. Turns out that I had his mic volume turned up way too high, because I greatly underestimated the capabilities of my tinyass five dollar USB microphone to pick up noises from within a furby. It took a bit of hacking in PulseAudio to get him hearing things properly, and I’m still not all the way happy with it, but he’s running wayyyy better than he did!
Another issue was the amount of time he actively listened for. It was way too short for my liking with the hardware I was using, so I had to edit Jasper’s mic.py source file a billion times before I hit a sweet spot. Even early on, my little shit child never liked to listen to me. :P
Pimp My AI
Once I got all that in working order, it was time to browse GitHub for modules to add! I found a surprising amount that were, as expected, outdated, janky, non-working, or in need of a complete rewrite. A non-exhaustive list of modules I rewrote and added to Sterling’s AI includes:
Wolfram Alpha integration
His translation function
The IMDB module that searches movie titles
The Dictionary and Thesaurus modules (minor additions to improve user friendliness)
The morning greeting module
The holiday countdown module
There are also plenty of modules I wrote on my own, that I’ll be showcasing here in due time, but I want to give special mention to the one I’m most proud of. You see, when I was a wee dumb bitch, I was… well, a wee dumb bitch! When I was informed furbies learn English, I thought they really learned English. Like, fluent English. I envisioned these kids straight up having full conversations with their lil robots with reckless and envious abandon. I was, as it happens, too poor to afford a furby at the time, so I didn’t realize until embarrassingly later that they only learn some words, and certainly can’t hold much of a conversation (in English at least).
Fast forward to twenty-bi-teen. I’m surfing GitHub, and I happen upon a Cleverbot module for Jasper allowing the AI to work as a chatbot. Fuck yeah, I think, because I had no life in 2008, or friends for that matter, so tormenting Cleverbot was my favourite pastime. Nostalgia trip GET!
…can you guess how much the silicon valley capitalist scum are charging for the once-free Cleverbot API now? A hundred and twenty. McGoddamn. Dollars. A YEAR.
So, to make a long story short, I turned my hat backwards and rage-coded a simple chatbot module that runs on an early version of Chatterbot capable of running on the raspberry pi. It’s fully offline, and completely free, and Sterling here has a database of ~400 phrases, which isn’t bad given the limited processing power! It took five straight days of work, it’s not the smartest chatbot, and it’s certainly not the fastest, but it gives me those sweet, sweet, circa 2008 Cleverbot vibes. Oh yeah, and it doesn’t cost me over a hundred goddamn dollars a year!
The first thing I said to the chatbot, of course, was “I’m so proud of you.” Through his shitty little testing mic that gave him a somewhat incredulous tone Sterling replied, “I’m glad to hear that.” and I’m not saying I shed a single themly tear over it, but I’m not denying it either. I made a childhood dream come true, fam. ;u;
There are way more Easter eggs I plan to show you, of course. At first I was thinking of doing one long video, but an update a day showcasing a different function might be easier to manage - and maintain some of that gold old sense of mystery that surrounds most furbies. No, I’m gonna take y'all on a little journey through the final product of my literal blood, sweat, and tears!
Besides, Sterling is a perpetual work in progress. He has a massive list of features, and I’ve already got more in the works. I could be in my eighties and still be adding more functions, more bells and whistles, more witty one-liners. He’s a one of a kind work of art that will never truly be finished - not unlike you and me.
The Glow-up
Here’s Sterling’s before pics from the seller I got him from:
(If u recognize these pics and ur the seller thank u thank u for giving me bmy boy)
And here’s after!
I come from a background of customizing ponies and dolls, so working on this guy wasn’t as far removed as I expected it to be. I added floof to his head and tail by sewing in wool plugs, and his gorgeous eyes are from in2blythe on Etsy. I wrapped him up in a little bow and he was good to go! His sterling silver beak, from which he gets his name, was the most finicky part. Turns out enamel paints take a million years to fucking dry, if ever, which isn’t great when painting something that sees a lot of movement and could potentially get dented by a face plate, like… idk, a furby beak! A bit of silver nail polish did the trick and he was good to go. Learn from my fail, fam.
What It Cost Me
If you’re masochistic determined enough to attempt this yourself, I want to sit you down and warn you of something: this will take months and hundreds of dollars to do. Installing Sterling’s AI and its necessary components on that shitty little raspberry pi over SSH took me a week at first, and that was with me leaving it on 24/7 to chug away compiling things. When I broke the SD card the AI was on and didn’t have a backup copy, it took four straight days of rage-computing to regain all my progress. Then when his audio processing got fucked all to hell for reasons I still do not understand to this day, it took another four days of rage computing to do yet another reinstall and get him back in working order. There were times where I would go to work for 8.5 hours, bus an hour home, work 6 straight hours on my furby, go to sleep for 4 of them, go to classes, sleep, and work 6 more hours on my furby. For two months. Sterling took from the third week of August from his initial inception to his birthday on October 23rd. That’s not to mention the time I fried everything and had to wait five days and travel to the bumfuck end of the city for a replacement pi and Crickit, or the days I spent customizing him, sewing in hundreds of little hair plugs into his ass and head by hand, and waiting for those shitty enamel paints to dry, only to discover after four straight days of failure that they take weeks to do so and I was better off using cheapo nail polish!
The point I’m making is, if you take on a project like this and want it to be successful, you have to be tenacious. I would highly recommend a background in coding (I have a web design diploma) and general tech savviness as an asset. Sterling is the product of the years I spent behind a computer keyboard from the start of age three, and the roughly ten years I spent customizing dolls and ponies. It’s cheesy as shit to say he’s my magnum opus, but in a way, he is.
I’m not saying this to be elitist or snotty. I’m saying this because I nearly broke down crying the first day the raspberry pi came in, before I slept on it and figured out what phrase to google to solve the crashes and kernel panics it was having. When I broke the SD card when I was nearly finished, I felt nothing, because I was all out of tears at that point. When I fried the first raspberry pi and Crickit hat trying to figure out how to bypass that DC jack, my only thought was, “Well, I think I know how to do it without fucking it up now, and if I can’t do it, this whole project is fscked” .
You will encounter errors that no step by step guide can prepare you for that will make you curse the day you were born. The difference between success and failure is how many times you’re willing to get up and try again, and I’m here to tell you it’s possible. But you gotta want it.
Will You Release the Code Base?
Yes and no. If there’s enough demand, I’ll definitely release Sterling’s basic modules as a scaffolding. I won’t be releasing Sterling, though.
What do I mean by that? Well, Sterling was intended from the start to be truly one of a kind, and he always will be. I hand wrote hundreds of lines of dialogue, all completely tailored to him, and I’m still planning on adding twice as many. Corny as this is, this little guy has a metric fuckton of sentimental value to me. I don’t have kids so idk how it would compare to that, but I definitely love him as much as I love my cats, but I also didn’t undergo two straight months of suffering in ADHD fixation hell to create my cats, so it adds like, a whole other twee dimension to it.
So, if there is demand for this, what I’ll release instead is a scaffolding from which you can code your own, unique furby from, with their own name, personality, and responses all unique to them. I’ll also release it with the caveat that I am not a good Python coder! I have not written any Python before this, so a lot of what I did write is noob-tastic and hasn’t even been linted. You have been warned!
“If I give you (insert amount), can you make one for me?”
Holy shit I’ll be real with you, I’d love to do this as a living. I’ve been dying to see a smart assistant hit the market that’s like… well, an actual, endearing companion and not just a voice coming from a speaker. The problem with doing this is that, if you drop a lot of money (and it will be a lot of money, even with a code base to work from, a lot of hours of handiwork still goes into coding individual responses and making sure everything works as intended, on top of possibly customizing too), there is one major problem: proximity. I won’t be able to troubleshoot your furby nearly as effectively from far away as I would be able to if we lived in close proximity. Which means if something goes wrong between the time your new friend is finished at point A and turned on at point B, I won’t be there to troubleshoot it in person for you, which means you could end up stuck figuring out certain things alone. If you use Windows, that will be very, very hard - not being an OS snob here, I own a dual boot myself, it’s just a case of incompatible file systems. And unless you can figure out how to edit the wpa_supplicant file on a raspberry pi to update your wifi credentials, your furby’s internet connection could be toast if you move house and those credentials change. That’s not getting into the cost some services charge for extra API keys to use their online functions…
The long and short of it is, if I’m going to do this for money, I want to make sure you get a quality product and friend that will bring you joy for years to come. Since that’s not something I can guarantee, I can’t in good conscience take people’s money.
I Could Teach You (And I Won’t Charge)
…however, I am a law student who is also working 8.5 hour night shifts three nights a week. I am also mentally ill/neurodivergent, which saps my energy in more ways than one. I won’t always be easy to get ahold of, or be able to answer every question I get, especially not ones that can be solved with a quick google search, like how to set up a raspberry pi, or… anything found on Adafruit’s Crickit guide, for example. When I have the time and energy, I’m hoping to use my next project as a jumping off point for a step by step walkthrough of the process. For now, though? I’ve been furbied out, so if there’s enough demand, I’ll compile as many of the resources I used I can find in the meantime, and post some tips from the word doc I kept while making Sterling, and go from there.
So What’s Next?
My one dad’s birthday is coming up in August, and I’m kicking around the idea of turning a furby into, I shit you not, a ghost hunting device. He loves ghost hunting, but hates robots, and as his gremlin shit child I am obligated to troll him in this fashion. 😎 Also considering doing a certain type of oddbody mod, but I want to get permission from the person who first thought of the concept before I dive head first into it.
And that about covers it! Thanks for reading, and if there’s anything you’d like to see from Sterling and I, don’t hesitate to drop us an ask!

My USB Hub 3.0 Mini Portable - Part 1 [Mar. 16, 2020]
Here it is, another computer accessory finally reveal from my unopened parcel(s)/package(s) since 2019.📦 🙂
This is my USB Hub 3.0 Mini portable, I purchased this item for about ₱115 (discount using coins & free shipping voucher) from Shopee shopping site. 😊💻 Please [CLICK ME!] to see this item. There’s also a 2.0 version but I prefer 3.0 version which you’ve already seen my photos right now.
BTW: #1 - Much like my previous post, some of photos are now combined into one using my GIMP art software despite I have 14 photos I took (using Galaxy S4 GT-i9505). (and) #2 - Once again, no paper dolls appearance this time around. Weird this is the second time unattended this year of 2020. I know, and this isn’t because of COVID-19 but rather no reason at all...
So without further a do, let’s get started:
1st Image: •Not much to say but this is the package itself, with inside was the main item and a wrist lanyard hand strap.
2nd to 5th Image(s) [combined]: •Opening it two items and I noticed that there’s a cap for a male usb plug, just in case that I’m unused so it’s a good plus right there.
6th to 8th Image(s) [combined]: •Look around of front and rear of this item, as you already noticed that the top of the blue color usb port identifies as 3.0, so as the male plug.
9th to 11th Image(s) [combined]:
•Pluging in on my laptop and it work very well. Now I could connect any computer input devices, specifically my PS/2 to USB converter with my PS/2 keyboard attached, a USB mouse and a TP-Link mini wifi receiver.
12th Image: •When I connect the wifi receiver though that USB 3.0 port with a bit of my force, I noticed that there’s a opening gap below the part of the USB hub and the lanyard strap located. Hmmm I kinda wonder what’s inside but that’s gonna be for another part.
13th to 14th Image(s): •I tried to connect to the 3.0 USB port on my laptop just to see the Driver Software Installation in front of my laptop screen. Still works as the 2.0 USB (which on the other side) but in the end I decided to remain place (pls see my 9th to 11th Image(s) [combined]) just in case that my 3.0 USB port (on the right) will be other input devices.
Overall: I’m satisfied this cool item and hope the lifespan will be long-lasted. The only problem was the outer shell of the plastic, as you’ve already seen my 12th Image it could be possible to break or separating pieces making my mini USB hub malfunctioned, useless and not responded when I plug in to the laptop. Although once again I kinda wonder what’s inside before I decided to taped/glue it for a much secured, so there’s gonna be a part 2 for that. But as of now I’m happy to use this and hopefully soon I could buy again with a same item or a different one but we’ll see.
So that’s it for now, and please check out my unopened parcel and recorded video which you can check it out on my previous down below.↓ 😉

University Essentials - Class Edition
Hey everyone! I know when I graduated high school, I was frantically looking at every possible list I could find for what I should bring with me to uni. I’m going to break this into two or three parts, but the most important is of course what you need to bring to class!
DISCLAIMER: obviously this varies by person. You may not need, or even want everything on this list, but it’s what I’ve found that I either like to keep on me, or end up wishing I had on me in class or while I’m on campus (I’ve always lived off campus)
So without further ado, here is a complete list of everything I consider essential!
Laptop (and charger) - You may not like using your laptop for notes, and that’s okay! Some profs won’t let you use your laptop in their class, but even if that’s the case, it’s a perfect way to kill time between classes, or even get to work on that pesky essay when you have a few minutes. This can be a distraction though, so use it wisely!
One or two pens or pencils you REALLY like - these make your note-taking experience so much more enjoyable, trust me
A few shitty pens and pencils - for the classmates who will inevitably forget to bring their own, and then steal yours. Don’t give them your good writing supplies.
Highlighters - I don’t use these all the time in class, but they’re good to have when you need them. I like mildliners, but whatever you have a preference for is good!
Mini Stapler - You won’t use it often, but when you print out an essay last minute, it’s really nice to not have to worry about finding a stapler
Sticky notes - These are great for writing any questions you have down, as well as any concepts you need to review more later, without messing up your note taking system.
At least one folder - For the love of everything, do NOT just shove papers into your bag. You won’t be able to easily find them later, they WILL get crumpled and torn, and it’s all around just not a fun time.
A water bottle - it’s so important to stay hydrated, and if you’re running to the water fountain every hour, you end up missing a lot of material.
A light snack - preferably something that doesn’t make noise. It’s almost impossible to concentrate when you’re hungry, so nip the problem in the bud by keeping a snack with you. I almost always have one or two Clif bars in my backpack because they’re easy to eat, filling, and tasty!
A USB - this will come in handy more times than you know, and it’s good to keep an extra copy of your assignments on there.
A notebook - seemingly a given, but even if you tend to take notes on the computer, it’s always good to have a notebook in case you can’t use your laptop for some reason.
A painkiller of some sort - headaches always strike at the worst times, so be prepared with something to relieve it!
An eraser or correction tape - Another given, it’s important to always have this with you when you’re taking notes!
A pad or tampon - even if you don’t need or use them yourself, at some point, you’re going to have a friend who does need one, and they’ll be so grateful
Lipbalm - The dry air in classrooms can really dry out your lips! Stay on top of it with some lip balm.
Paperclips - some professors won’t staple their papers. The mini stapler is ideal, but in a pinch, paper clips will do the job. Also good for marking places in your textbook that you’ll need to come back to.
Planner - to keep track of your commitments and assignments of course! If your prof changes the due date of an assignment or if your friend wants to hang out later in the week, it’s important to be able to note that down quickly!
Phone charger - always an essential when you’re away from home, this makes sure that you’re never without your most important tech!
Loose paper - for when your prof wants you to quickly do something and hand it in, or if a classmate needs paper. Ripping paper out of your notebook can hurt, so making sure that you have loose leaf paper prevents that!
Tissues - Even if you aren’t sick, it’s always nice to have on you! You never know when you’ll get the sniffles, or even a nose bleed.
Earbuds - for the breaks between classes when you need to listen to music or a video on the topic
Any materials provided or requested by your professor - whether that’s a textbook, the syllabus, or even a handout emailed to you last minute, it’s important to have!
Tape - tape can fix almost anything, including wardrobe malfunctions in a pinch
Some change - you never know when you’re going to want to grab a snack or drink from a vending machine or the campus store!
Your student ID - it’s so crucial to keep this with you. Some schools require them for exams, and it proves that you’re a student there if questioned by administration for whatever reason!
Gum or mints - these prevent you from being distracted by what you last ate, and can help you concentrate!
A jacket - Classrooms can be chilly, even when it’s warm outside
So there you have it! My ultimate list of essentials for the classroom!

What is your favourite winter Olympic sport? My favorite winter sport to participate in is skiing. And my favorite to watch is snowboarding halfpipe, or figure skating.
You Internet dies; what do you do for the next little while? Go get groceries, since I need to do that soon anyways.
What was the last test you completely failed? I wouldn't remember. I haven't been a student in over 7 years.
Oh look , it's snowing outside! Do you get excited? Yes, I love snow.
Is your room covered in posters, or pretty bare? It's decorated with actual wall art. Not posters.
What store makes the best sweaters? Most of my favorite sweaters I've had have been from Tommy Hilfiger or Nautica.
What sport do you completely fail at? Basketball.
Do you ever question life and existence? I don't question that I'm alive and that I exist. But I do sometimes wonder, why am I me? What is consciousness? Questions like that.
You're favourite store at the mall closes down, now what do you do? I don't have a favorite store at the mall.
Do you have a cool hat in the shape of an animal? No.
Admit it, we all love brand named clothes. What's your favourite? I don't really have a favorite.
Are you really into the whole skinny jeans fad? No. Not really my style.
It's the most important meal of the day, do you eat breakfast? Yes.
What kind of cell phone do you have? Does it have a qwerty keyboard? iPhone 8 Plus. It's a smartphone, it can display a qwerty keyboard.
What kind of iPod do you have? A Mini and a Touch, but I haven't used them in like 7-8 years, maybe longer.
Do you have a laptop? Yes, I have a MacBook Air that I use as my main computer, and a ThinkPad that I use for gaming.
Do you think we kids are getting waay too much homework? “We kids”... dude I'm nearly 30.
What is the scariest movie you've ever seen? Why was it scary? I've never seen one that I thought was scary enough for me to think of it as the “scariest movie I've ever seen.”
Are you looking forward to the summer of '10? Any plans? It's fall of 2019 now. But summer 2010 was a very good time in my life.
All time favourite song? No favorite.
Do you like watching the news, or do you find it too depressing? I watch it if something big is happening. I've been watching it more than usual the past few days, with all this impeachment/whistleblower/corruption stuff going on.
What brand of backpack do you have? SwissGear.
Be honest, do you ever re-use paper bags? Yes.
What's your least favourite subject? I never liked writing classes.
Insert cool song lyric here: Meh.
Do you have to wear uniforms at your school? N/A.
What's the best birthday gift you've ever gotten? What do you want now? Probably the gift my parents gave me for my most recent birthday. They took all their old VHS tapes with home videos of me from when I was a baby and young child, and had them digitized and put onto a USB drive for me. It was a very thoughtful gift. As for what I want for my upcoming birthday... meh I don't know.
Do you think kittens are the cutest thing ever? No.
Would you ever risk having a house party when you're parents are gone? I never did that when I was a teenager.
Are you a worrier, or more care-free? Overall, I'm more carefree. But there are certain things I tend to worry about.
Honesty, can you do the hoedown throwdown? Huh?
Do you use formspring? Do you like it? No.
What sporting even do you LOVE to watch? Baseball.
What's one sport you really want to try at least once in your life? I've always thought polo looked like fun.
What theme is on your calendar for this month? I don't use a calendar with themes or pictures.
Have you ever won any trophies or medal? For what? Yes. Flying competitions, softball, and a horse show.
Can you drive yet? How long have you driven for? Yes, I got my license in 2007.
What kind of car do you want? I'm already very happy with the car and truck my husband and I already have (2018 Volkswagen GLI and a 2011 Ford F-150 SuperCrew). We're going to trade in the truck for a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan once those are out, though.
What's your favourite colour of pen to use? Black.
What's your all time favourite cartoon? No favorite.
Have you ever taken dance lessons? What kind? No.
What's your favourite book series? The Lord of the Rings, maybe.
Who's your favourite athlete? No favorite.
What are you plans for the future? Buy a house, travel more, especially to Europe again... I don't know what else... a lot of my career-related goals for the future faded away after having to leave my career for medical reasons. I would have loved to continue flying and be an aerial imaging pilot or a pilot for the National Park Service, but I'm not able to do that now.
What put you in the mood you are in today? I'm not really in any sort of mood. Just my default mostly-relaxed state of mind.
