MINECRAFT METAVERSE! (Alters/clones explanation)
So one of the say "plot holes" within my minecraft metaverse au is that "what about the hermit x empires arc?" To recap very basic recap, they had a whole crossover between smps. Which mcyt such as GeminiTay are in both smps.
The watchers enjoy observing all smps. Some players they enjoy more than others and/or want to see more of them. So they make alters of the same person to see they way they act with smps that are running at the same time. Such as 2 GeminiTays, one in hermitcraft and the other in empires. Grian wanted to ruin the fun of the watchers and "created" the rift. He wanted to cause confusion for people so it wouldn't be enjoyable for the watchers.
Alters: same person different personality/appearance (within a different smps running at the same time)
Ex: Empires Gem and Hermit Gem
Clones: same person, same personality (everything is the same and usually within the same smp)
Ex: The Taurtis Clones

Tumblr media
The morning was excellent and the city awoke slowly. Sunlight fell in slants across the grand facade of the cathedral, casting pixelated shadows that played on the well-trimmed digital hedges. It was quiet now, the kind of stillness that would saturate the air before the virtual visitors walked the cobblestone paths and admired the minarets and spires that reached up towards the cerulean sky. The river, a shivering blue ribbon, cut through the heart of the landscape, reflecting a world that didn't need to breathe but was nonetheless alive.
In this corner of the metaverse, someone had spent countless hours stacking blocks upon blocks to recreate what many knew as an iconic monument, crafting it with the care of a stone mason of the old. They had built not just a memorial, but a sanctuary where the secular rubbed shoulders with the devout, where creeper and avatar would stand in equal awe. There won't be natural wind here, but the leaves seemed to rustle; no scent of fresh bread from the boulangeries, yet one could almost taste the warm croissants.
Would the creator wander these virtual alleys, a silent observer of the bustling activity that would soon fill this void? Or would they, too, become a participant, forging stories and memories in this grand homage to a city known for love and art? Time here ticked at the pace of servers and connections, devoid of the mortal constraints yet bound by the aspirations of those who breathed life into these squares and rectangles.
The cathedral stood testifying to man's pursuit of beauty and immortality, whether on earth or in this realm of creativity and imagination. The morning sun continued its ascent, promising a day of possibility in this pixelated Paris—a world within a world.

got my sniper rifle trained on rob mcelhenney in case this whole metaverse storyline leads to anything but the revelation that the entire premise of the metaverse is a vacuous lie told by capitalist tech billionaires who are only out to extract more data and wealth from people

Do you know how students will learn in the near future?
In the metaverse. The daily lives of everyone revolves around being comfortable in a virtual space; from emails, to social networking, talking with friends, business meetings, shopping, so much is done online the list is endless.
In a new and creative world, education must evolve with it.
For that future, we've just started using popular global online games for language lessons starting this spring.
If you like Minecraft by Mojang Studios or Fortnite by Epic Games from the States, we are pleased to offer Japanese lessons with Japanese teachers who speak English fluently.
Nowadays, convenience is key. You will be able to access us from any location (with internet access) to take Japanese language lessons.
We are now accepting new students daily.
Please feel free to send us messages!

Alright... let's talk seriously about what widespread plural acceptance and visibility means for anti-endos
If anyone has been following recent drama, I responded to a hate anon with an... overly bleak description of what plural acceptance would look like for anti-endos. That description included, among other things, a prediction that they would lose everyone they love.
The thing is, I don't believe that. (Well, maybe for that specific anon, because the type of person who casually throws around threats to bash people's heads in isn't the type of person to maintain a lot of healthy social relationships and it would be in the best interest of everyone associated with them to go their separate ways.)
But people with harmful beliefs do still find places to keep those beliefs alive.
What I do think will happen though is that what's been a mostly online issue up until now won't be mostly online for long, and anti-endos will need to learn to cope with that.
So here's the more nuanced version of that prediction:
I believe a plural wave is coming
I don't know when. Maybe it will sneak up on us and the world will be more plural before we realize it.
Right now, it's happening slowly. But on the academic front, we're at least getting a lot more research into non-disordered systems over the past decade where none existed before. A new paper even includes a system using their system name as author(s)
Tumblr media
We have tools like Simply Plural and Pluralkit. Apparently even mods like Switchy for Minecraft which came as a total surprise to me to learn of.
And younger systems are more willing to want to be open as systems in their daily life which will have a cascading effect and give other young systems the courage to be as well.
As systems become more visible, not only will more be willing to be out, but more will discover their plurality and more people will want to be systems. And luckily, the tulpamancy community has a wealth of resources that can accommodate them and help them create their own headmates.
Amidst all of this, I believe the expanding metaverse and VR dissociation may contribute to plurality in a way nobody really expected.
What may really kick things off would be huge and influential celebrities coming out and positioning themselves as plural activists. It hasn't happened yet, but feels like a matter of time.
How Anti-Endos React to This Changing World Will Determine How They'll be Treated
It won't be as simple as "everyone you love will abandon you for being anti-endo." But endogenic systems will become more common and you'll have to interact with them in your daily life.
If in 20 years, your niece comes out as a system and they want their family to refer to them by the names of whoever is fronting... how you treat them may determine how people in your family treat you. If you disrespect them or fakeclaim their system, even in private amongst other relatives, you may find yourself in a position where other members of the family don't want to associate with you anymore.
The same may be true of people coming out in friend groups, churches, workplaces, etc.
You may find yourself in a position where you're expected to regularly interact with an endogenic system, and to do so respectfully towards their headmates in your daily life. And that's going to be a tough pill to swallow.
It's going to be hard for anti-endos to adapt, and if they treat endogenic system offline like they treat us online, a lot of relationships are going to be destroyed by their own bigotry, and a lot of their friends and loved ones may abandon them due to their behavior.
And doing so... is the right thing to do. If someone has to choose between their endogenic children and an anti-endo sibling who refuses to adapt accept them, it should be an easy choice.
But it's going to hurt.
People will get hurt because no change, even positive change, can be entirely painless for everyone. And for bigots who build their identity around hating a group of people, those people they hated being out and proud in public will be painful for them.
In order to make the world safer for people like the niece in this hypothetical and all the endogenic and mixed origin systems of the future, it's going to need to become more hostile towards people spreading hate against us.
For the Anti-Endos Looking For a Reason to Hate Me...
Here it is.
Every action I take is made with the goal of creating a world where you may be exposed to endogenic systems frequently in your day-to-day-life and that shift is going to hurt you if you're unwilling to adapt to it.
Hurting people is not the primary objective.
But neither am I ignorant of what the consequences of fighting for plural acceptance will be for those on the other side. A world that's truly safe for endogenic and mixed origin systems to exist in public is going to be hostile and unaccepting towards anti-endos.

I just watched the Folding Ideas video about "The" Metaverse.
Guys this whole time I thought that "Metaverse" was the brand name of Facebook's VR Chat style game for their headset.
Apparently it's actually... Nothing? Used interchangeably to refer to the sum total of all internet technology or to Second Life style VR hangouts with user generated content?
The rebranding now simultaneously makes more or less sense. Expanding into AR and VR technology in general is a much saner choice than betting the farm on Second Life But Owned By Facebook.
But also, like... This is a mature technology? We already know that nobody wants to shop in a virtual Walmart because we've tried that. Minecraft and Roblox are two of the most popular games on the planet.
It's like Facebook is rebranding itself after, I don't know, MP3s and telling us how exciting it might be to ditch our CD players for a machine that would hold all of our music as digital files.
Really weird.

MINECRAFT METAVERSE! (Grian development)
Ok, timeline: Yhs/ts -> evo smp -> hermitcraft -> life series
Since all worlds are, say, connected, I like to think that Grian had a rough childhood (yhs/ts). Iiterally unhinged af- and the watchers ate that shit up! But after the events of yhs/ts he took the time to grow up and get the help he needed. Thus evo smp era. At this point, he is much better of a person. Still having some outbursts and acting like a toddler but better than before. Obviously, this is when the watchers make it known that they exist. Grian still kept in touch with taurtis after high school but not Sam. Which is why he summoned him. He missed his friend. Of course, going through the events of evo smp blah blah blah, Grian becomes a watcher sjhrjfjfjnfm- NOW after Grian knows what watchers do and such he reflects on himself more. Everything that has happened within yhs/ts and Evo smp. Now He won't give them the negativity they want. The time is hermitcraft s6. He joins, and this point is the Grian we know and love (except that he is a little hesitant to make friends at first). He doesn’t want to give the watchers any entertainment.. few seasons go by, and the watchers haven't been all too entertained with any of these smps. I mean, they made Grian a watcher in hopes he would further push negativity, right? The watchers want their old Grian back, now is the time they create a death game called 3rd life. Grian was painfully aware of this decision and wanted to stop it. He volunteered to play in this game to try to stop it from the inside, but he fell right into the watchers trap. Then, near the end of 3rd life or literally any life series, he resembles how unhinged he was in yhs/ts. The watchers got what they wanted. Since the watchers eat all negativity to a "reset" (aka new life season), Grian keeps on trying to stop it but fails every single time. He doesn't have his pessimistic side to tell him that this isn't going to work. It's a cycle that he can't break.
BOOM GRIAN DEVELOPMENT!
Ask any questions about this plsss! At this point in time I haven't watched all of yhs/ts (only childhood memories and rewatching it rn) or evo smp (I'll get back to that eventually). I really want to go in depth with a possible watcher Samgladiator, but I want to finish the series to determine that.

AI is a tool designed to normalise false information and increase distrust in experts.
It was created by *checks notes* tech companies who profit from reduction in critical thinking skills.The same people who brought us;
Crypto, the worlds first truely independent currency! Belovd by scam artists and criminals the world over. Zero practical use outside those areas.
Metaverse, an independent free market virtual world where you can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a digital object that doesn't exist and has the graphical definition of a minecraft tree!
NFTS, a true revolution in art and art ownership where you can invest thousands in an ugly digital blob that has no real world value whatsoever, except you aren't actually paying for the picture you thought you just bought, you're paying for a data entry which may or may not direct to the picture you just thought you bought.
Dear gods, this is the worst timeline.

In recent days I have come to the unfortunate realization that fortnite is actually a fun video game, and that is why it got so popular, which makes sense in retrospect, however everytime i remember theyre trying to do a metaverse thing with it its extremely funny because like what the fuck are you talking about. Its a game where you shoot each other with guns. Everytime they say anything like "THis is going to be the future of connecting with people online" they sound like they're hallucinating I just think the grappling hook thing is cool. Only tangentially related lego fortnite is boring as all hell which is a shame because it has legos in it. I think the legos are funny but it's literally just like. Terraria(?? not minecraft) but 3d and there's absolutely nothing to do. This is my review thank you everyone for following my blog despite the fact that this is like the 3rd post relating to fortnite on it

Bc I saw a post be wildly incorrect about this, "social media" is literally any media with a social aspect to it.
Media: these are things like tvs, websites, cell phones, computer programs, even books.
Social: interacting with other humans.
Social media in our current understanding is dominated by the likes of Facebook and Twitter, but social media doesn't have to look like fb or Twitter. Forums are social media, yes the really old kind. IRC, Discord, and chat boxes are social media. Blogging is social media, yes even the old kind. Any comments section is social media. Modern digital TVs frequently have a chat function hidden somewhere making them social media. OnlyFans and PornHub are social media. Chat roulette like Omegle is social media. YouTube is social media. Archive of Our Own and FFN are social media. Minecraft and Metaverse and multi-player video games or VR are social media.
Fb, Twitter, Tumblr, and their peers are a specific form of mass social media to be sure, but they are not the be all end all of social media. I didn't get a literal degree in this to see people on Tumblr think fb is social media and LiveJournal or forums are not.

So little (or less) known fact about me: I can't handle interactive 3D graphics.
I think it is the sudden stops and starts of movement, shakes, and rotation that come with the interactive element that set the motion-sickness off. Anything that I can actually move/click around in, or things that look like they're being moved/clicked around in, like a game, will make me sick.
I can't watch other people's gameplay either - as in, if I even see a Minecraft gif on my dash, I need to avert my eyes or cover the screen, or I will almost instantly start to feel nauseous. My association between Minecraft and motion-sickness is actually so strong that looking at still MC screencaps can make me feel sick, too.
(But that's mainly because I played so much Minecraft while feeling sick and knowing it was a bad idea)
I have also made myself motion sick with:
Google Street view
Online 3D model interaction interfaces
Actually doing the 3D modelling
POV cameras / gorilla cam in films
2D side scrolling games when moving too fast and irregularly
Oh and let's not even talk about VR. If the world decides to move to the metaverse, I will be left behind.
This has been the case since at least 2011, but I didnt play many 3D things before then, so I don't know if it was the case even earlier.
It is actually kinda sad because there are many 3D games that I wish I could play, but can't because my brain hates parsing virtual 3D I guess. Like Bioshock and Portal and the recent Zelda games.
