My favorite trope will always, ALWAYS be mind control fighting. Like when Person A is being mind controlled by whatever source and is forced to try to hurt Person B. But Person B will do everything in their power not to hurt Person A.

Bonus points if they come out of it at the last second right before they kill Person B

Something that kills me is that there’s no way in hell that Raph’s debilitating separation anxiety isn’t infinitely worse after the movie. The trauma of being Krangified like that, all alone, would probably regress him so hard.

Not to mention his worries of getting “weird” would likely get mixed up with his experience while Krangified - aka, he loses full awareness, and when he’s brought “back” it’s to the understanding that he attacked his own family (of course not to his own fault at all, but how much of that does he believe?)

The fear of being alone would take on another layer and become a fear of himself.

we know that fighting is sukuna's canonical "love language"....

so what is this???

the level of physicality and closeness in all their fights is making me rabid. sukuna really gives yuuji such special treatment .... not only does he spare yuuji's life so many times when he could have killed him, he also keeps fighting yuuji in close combat when he literally has a cursed technique that can slice people apart from a distance.

this is a choice he's making to get so skin-to-skin with the enemy he's supposed to hate.

also, the way he was (unnecessarily) cradling yuuji's neck almost gently as he literally beats into him, how he's grabbing onto yuuji and just manhandling him — i'm no going to lie, it's almost carnal. how is so much intimacy in all of their fights compared to everyone else sukuna clashes with?

and the way sukuna is so expressive and uncharacteristically emotional whenever he gets to face yuuji. that brat just works him up so bad—

it's especially interesting when sukuna looks almost proud or excited to see what yuuji can do.

also.... sukuna, why do you look so excited for yuuji to come beat you up? is this like a date to you???

i mean, to be fair, sukuna probably considers violent brawling a love confession so no wonder why he's always ready to take on yuuji.

even in the official art he's so obviously into it.

the way he's smirking down at yuuji, holding onto his wrist, it's like he can't stop touching him. probably misses the closeness they used to have back when the brat was his vessel tbh.

i especially love that one scene where he literally sat on yuuji

in conclusion, sukuna gets off on throwing his boy around and feeling him up. it's just fact.

this means they share the same kinks traits to me tbh. if sukuna really did survive, i would like to believe that they would go on fighting hard with each other, even over the stupidest things. domestic cursed husbands to me <3

I think Law's ego is suffering worse damage while assisting in this fight than it did during his tour of Dressrosa in chains.

It's tough having the ultimate set of abilities for battle support.

He'll be put on Zoro-boost duty forever.

With a few deep breaths I think he could come to realize just how much he could control the entire fight if he embraced the role of player rather than piece on the board. Learn the strengths of your allies and move them all around where they need to go before they even ask for it!

Still thinking abt @crystaltoa 's narrative and destiny in bionicle essay and at some point it struck me that oh shit is this why Lesovikk never achieves anything?

Because his destiny was to die, basically, he's technically been retired from the narrative before even entering it. He should by all accounts be the equivalent of a name in the flavor text of a Skyrim history book, just there to give additional context to the culture or language or history of the Matoran Universe. He could leave! He could sit back and watch it all unfold from the safety of his "narratively dead" status. But he doesn't know that, and so he wallows in grief and misery for 90 thousand years as he runs in circles desperately trying to insert himself back into a story that just doesn't respond to his presence. He can't save his team because Destiny says so, he can't return to his Matoran because he technically shouldn't exist anymore, he can't kill Karzhani because he's an actual character with a role to play and he can't just be decommissioned by flavor text.

Even in The Powers That Be, where the influence of the narrative is waning and retired characters are being brought back into the story through the Red Star, his only victory is undone (Idris and Sarda notably do not appear even in mentions in the serial despite them having formed/regained a bond with him previously, implying they have since returned to the Mahri/Voya communities while Lesovikk hasn't for whatever reason) and he remains unable to pursue his goals, at best becoming Velika's scapegoat.

He's like a vengeful yet ineffectual ghost stuck in a house that has moved on without him, repeating old motions in the hopes that he will somehow solve his unfinished business soon.

The Myths and Legacy version's conclusion for him (while I still don't enjoy it personally) does fit this reading. He shows up so suddenly on the Red Star but is it strange? Does it even matter? That's where he should have been to begin with, of course the story would twist and bend itself to accomodate that. While Velika is horrendously cruel about it, revealing Lesovikk's purpose in the narrative exorcises that guilt he's been dragging around for nearly a thousand centuries and gives him solace: he fully detaches himself from Kopaka and Pohatu to join the living dead he has so much more in common with, and finally he realizes that little plot point that he'd been stuck on for so long and is finally at peace. By tearing himself to shreds and blowing up a spaceship but at peace nonetheless.

like I mean I’m kinda the superlantern guy bow but like even in a friends way why don’t they team up more often…like why don’t they have a comic run from like the 80s where it’s just them going on wacky adventures 😞😞

the GL Corps and Superman have a decent amount of overlap between villains (brainiac, darkseid, new gods, off the top of my head), so it’s not like they don’t have the opportunities to team up. and then Hal is a lot like Lois and Clark is a lot like Barry so obviously they’d get along swimmingly…

and then they’ve canonically called each other the best of the League like… dc pls??? pls give this friendship a spotlight???

im thinking. play fighting with oliver early in your relationship and he teasingly wraps a hand around your neck once he manages to pin you under him on the matress, just a ghost of a touch really because he’s still not sure where your boundaries lie just yet and then you reach for his neck with both hands, mirroring his move and you actually apply a little pressure, very lightly to test the waters ... he’ll moan. so shamelessly, too. from then on whenever you’re making out his hand will creep up to rest at the base of your neck and he squeezes weakly as a cue and oliver fully expects you to return the gesture and its so sensual yet intimate and its also playful because you’re kissing in between ragged breaths and sighing and panting into each other’s mouths and you’re both slightly lightheaded because of the subtle decrease in oxygen coursing through your veins..he’d be smirking through the whole thing, too.
