Behold, a liar.
Milo (brown hair) and his two fake identities so far, Mika Goldthorne the wizard (black hair) and Flynamin Mosswhistle the actor turned scam artist (blonde hair). I decided I needed a good reference for each of their favourite appearances with the good ol' hat of disguise, plus his actual appearance of course.

KidsTale: Three Chipmunks and the Thief Bear
In the heart of the lush Oakwood Forest, three close-knit chipmunks named Milo, Tess, and Finn were wrapping up their seasonal duties. They’d worked diligently, day in and day out, gathering a diverse array of acorns, berries, and nuts. Their burrow was a testament to their hard work, packed to the brim with winter provisions. One evening, as the trio sat outside their burrow, gazing at the…

okay so, most of my characters are for DnD 5e cause I play that the most, but I've got a couple for other systems that I really love.
My oldest DnD character is a halfling called Milo Oakwood, I played him in my first campaign but it ended early so I revamped him for another one. Originally he was an arcane trickster rogue, but now he's a multiclassed rogue bard (one level in rogue, three in bard, he's college of eloquence). I love him so much, he's a coward who hates violence and loves lying, he pretended to be a wizard for the first ten sessions of the second campaign. he's also a werewolf but very much still in the denial stage about that
My second oldest dnd character is a tabaxi fighter/rogue musketeer fella, I actually play him in two campaigns now - originally a horror campaign where he's level 11 and in his forties, an experienced adventurer who gets marooned on a creepy island while on his way home to his husband, and now a werewolf/town of salem/among us style game where he's level 6, late twenties, and has only just left his job as a town guard. he's called Charles Edwin Cooper in the first one and Storm at Dusk in the second (went for a more traditional tabaxi name in the second to fit the setting better). they're both absolutely going through it rn
The only dnd character I've played in person is an elf fighter/rogue (guess my favourite classes lmao), she's called Elion Bravechild and he's my babygirl <3, the cutest violent ex-bandit you'll ever see, having a bad time suffering various problems in pursuit of a powerful evil cult as the only non-spellcaster in the party lol
I have a few dnd characters for play by post games: Eaza, a dragonborn paladin way out of their depth rn; Ash, a shifter barbarian who's coping with screwing up her life by going to space to bite aliens (spelljammer campaign); and Stronsay, a reborn druid who's a strange corpse that washed up on the beach one day, got up, and hasn't particularly cared about anything since
kind of my favourite character at the moment is Caitríona, she's a monster of the week monstrous I played in a mini-campaign. She was a shapeshifting monster (selkie) working as a camp counsellor on a remote island, she took no shit from anyone and wrestled a bunch of monster while trying to be nice and also hide her secret, and eventually got sent back in time lmao
I've also just started a second fallout ttrpg campaign, my character is a himbo farmboy called Elliot, I'm excited to see where his character goes
sorry this post is really long I just love infodumping about my characters (could have made it way longer ngl)
hey hey! tell me about your ttrpg characters! it would be fun, i think, to hear about them if youre okay with that
:O ty for the ask! it'll be kind of a long answer cause I have lots lmao so I'll reblog this & answer it on my ttrpg blog rn

2008 or so, give or take.. still goin' hard tho. This was before my move to #NYC.. after coming back from #NC.. and every crazy episode in the middle.. I was always writing, rhyming, learning, drawing.. I wanted to record and make music so bad bout this time.. me & @jim_cognito had the spot on the North side in the Milo Area.. then @schematic_productions had his spot were I did a lot of work.. now I'm at this point where I do it all myself, thanks to the homie @suzukikaioh .. it all comes to putting in time and serious energy to make your goals real and some blessings from the All Mighty Lord God.. Word. Music & Art has kept me from the pitfalls of life that would have halted my movement, doin' some dumb shit that would have had me dead or in jail.. I represent myself and my city #columbus #ohio #614 #bustown #oakwood&whittier #oak&champion #blazethestreets #showtyme #ontheloose Peace! (at Planet Earth)

can't stop thinking about the last session of one campaign I'm in.
Milo is faking his identity as a wizard named Mika. the other party members are suspicious but only one has started to call them out about it. that same party member threw a punch and two axes at them, primarily for the crime of magically drawing a smiley face on a miniature shark. a golem was summoned and is attacking half the party for his actual crime of illegal magic, also shark related. the other half of the party has done nothing in this encounter but stop Milo from running away.
their trip to this magic school started with him following someone into a cleaner's cupboard and will end with him getting beaten up and actually facing the consequences of his actions for the first time in the campaign, unless he's very lucky next session and his plan to weasel out of it works (unlikely)
#DnD#milo oakwood#his plan by the way consists of finding a dark corner to go lie in the fetal position in and be as pathetic as possible#in order to hook the party into believing his second fake identity#oh and his hat got knocked off‚ revealing the smaller hat he has on underneath it

does anyone have any fun ideas for fake identities for a bard/rogue character?
it would likely have to be someone who'd also pretend to be someone else because at this point it's four fake identities deep unless I shuffle them around
#DnD#DnD character#dungeons & dragons#d&d#d&d character#yes these tags are for attention pls suggestions anyone#milo oakwood

a couple of the other characters have begun to suspect that Milo is not in fact a wizard. unfortunately for them, he has a hat of disguise, advantage on pretending to be someone else, can't roll lower than 17 on a deception check, and three backup identities ready to go.
the rest of the party is not going to learn a single thing about this guy for a lonnggggg time lmao

urge to draw out drama for as long as possible vs desire to play out the dramatic conclusion, fight
#yes it would potentially be more exciting and hit harder if it's after a longer period of time#yes i want it to happen immediately#this is about multiple games😔#blake grimshaw#milo oakwood#ttrpgs

in a shocking twist of events, this session my bard was actually useful while the rest of the party got drunk
#milo oakwood#really putting that single level in rogue to use#(he snuck around and investigated the tavern the others were getting drunk in)#primarily to validate his lie#(saw thieves cant indicating a place was shady‚ said he got shady vibes instead of explaining that fact)

okay so I know it's good practice to discuss classes with your party for effectiveness and good party composition however. I want to see how long I can pretend to be playing a wizard.
#i know i know deceiving the other characters doesn't have to mean deceiving the other players#but where do you think my character got their love of lying from#dnd#Milo Oakwood
