ty for the tag! ^-^ i don’t have that many actually interesting scars tbh, mostly just tiny ones from picking at bug bites and stuff? probably the most interesting one is an arrowhead shaped one on my knee from falling on a gravel driveway as a little kid (one of my siblings had to pick the gravel out with tweezers. 0/10 experience do not recommend). and then i also have one that’s not really interesting on its own but by dint of the fact it matches prev—i also have a recent-ish scar on my fingertip, complete with nerve damage, from woodcarving. twins :]

Tag game? Tag game. Tell me about your most interesting scar. Mine is a dog bite from when I was very young. It Hines in my smile line and under my chin so you can't see it unless I point it out. My aunts dalamtion bit me for running in the halls and I had to get stitches.
No pressure tags @you-know-that-i-caught-it @dog55teeth @dumb-zombie-girl and anyone else that wants to join!

This distinctively warty lichen is Melanohalea exasperata (with several friends) on a lushly populated oak twig.

It can be tricky to find as it mostly grows high up in the tree canopy - so far I've only enountered it on branches that have recently fallen to the ground.

That's so cool! And they found a few of them, and they're now growing seedlings in greenhouses for eventual replanting!
Quercus tardifolia is a relic species leftover from when the climate was much cooler and wetter in the past, and can only really live in a few high-elevation spots in Texas. It's definitely still at risk of extinction due to increasing heat and drought caused by climate change, but the discovery means this species still has a chance.

Some warm up sketches while I work on a bigger tfota piece, as well some art from last year. Honestly, if you compare these to the early 2023 pieces, you're in for a shock. Each time I draw them, Suren gets meaner and Oak gets more handsome XD

Quercus robur. My book about trees which I worked on last summer is currently in print and should be released in February! Not sure if I'm excited or terrified. Here are some extra pages with Oak 🌳
