Frequent IDF raids have seen more than 1,500 Palestinians arrested since April. Aseel AlBajeh, an advocacy officer with the Palestinian human rights group Al-Haq, describes the overall impact of Israel's operation as "collective punishment on the entire region", citing further restrictions on movement, the closure of military checkpoints to Israel, denial of work permits and detentions without trial that have accompanied it.

At least 100 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem this year amid a massive increase in Israeli military raids. It means this year is now on course to become the deadliest for Palestinians in the West Bank since 2015. The vast majority were shot dead by Israeli security forces and several by armed Israeli civilians.

the knee-jerk reaction some people have to anything vaguely Israeli makes having conversations so difficult

I was talking to someone the other day and mentioned that the IDF claims to have killed around 1,500 Hamas fighters. they said "lol okay so your source is the IDF" and like. yeah? that's kind of how wars work?

all militaries suck and the IDF is no exception, but where do you expect to get those numbers ? casualties in a war are reported by the militaries involved, that's just how it works. and yeah, I trust the IDF about as far as I can throw a Merkava, but every side in a conflict is going to be biased.

what's more, they didn't even try to provide a contradictory number from a third-party i dependant source, just scoffed at the idea of reporting on what has been said. they could be making it up, they could not, but unless you want me to fly to Gaza and count the bodies I don't know what you expect me to do

Rehashing a pain point with the Horizon franchise…

Why is there no mention of any real tribal nation in the game? No reference at all. The erasure of APOLLO didn’t remove the visions at the Grove, or any of the artifacts Aloy finds in her exploration. You’re telling me it makes narrative sense to have 30 minutes of Dutch artwork analysis and its historical significance, but not a single mention of any indigenous society? There are ZERO datapoints or ruins related to native people throughout the entire world that could have influenced Horizon-era culture?
