y'know, i'm aware that i'm bad at driving, but i really don't think that one was on me, johnny.

I feel like there's something very intimate about the idea of V not getting any operation, not going forward with Mikoshi, but letting Johnny slowly override him and kill him.

After weeks of fighting, when he stops, Johnny's the one begging him to do something. To get up, to go kill a cyberpsycho or something, just get up, V, please.

He doesn't understand. V wanted to live, become a legend, but he wasn't fighting for it. For the chance at a few more months, so why won't he fight for it? C'mon, call Johnny a parasite again, just do something.

And he doesn't. It's the same old tasks, scavenge enough eddies to keep a place to live and food. Have Vik check up on him every so often. He doesn't fight.

That pained, loopy way V looks at him feels like a stab in the chest. He doesn't want to die, no, but he knows it'll happen eventually so what's the point of going anywhere for anything when Johnny will take over for him. He wants him to. What's the point of his body if it's not used?

V just wants him close when it's finally done. He might've been there in Mikoshi, waving him off, but that place is cold. The ice baths hurt and he wants to be warm when everything goes away.

He wants to be warm. And he wants Johnny to be there every second. It'll hurt. God, it'll fuckin hurt. But he can't stand the idea of someone doin it for him. He's not putting a bullet in his head, just static fading into the background till he's gone.

Johnny will take his place, and V can only hope that he'll do good by him.
