The new Traitor Guard Militarum Traitoris look great, really putting the old Cadian and Catachan kits to shame. Between these, the existing Blackstone Fortress antagonists and the forthcoming cultists, you should be able to do a pretty substantial Alpha Legion list in the new Chaos Space Marine Codex.
Phobos Marines have never really done much for me, but the kit’s a great source of bits and another specialist upgrade set won’t go amiss.

Nifthman Fusiliers
Homeworld: Nifthla Regiment Type: Infantry Specialisation: Marksmen
The Nifthman Fusiliers are the primary regiments from the world of Nifthla and its inhabited natural satellites. They have become famous for their disciplined marksmen and infamous for their pride and resolve.
---
Recruitment
The Nifthman Fusiliers are raised from the noble classes from Nifthla. Specifically it is customary for the second born child of a family to be trained to become a member of the Fusiliers. A degree of equality is applied to all individuals recruited into the Sentinels and Fusiliers. All distinction present is wholly of one’s own action and little note is given to the prestige of their family.
The Call of the Colours is the coming of age practice where the passing classes of the Fusiliers are raised into the Sentinel Regiments. These become the new family for the members and deployments are wholly internal for security and policing action for the world.
The Call of the Aquila is induced by Imperial representatives to compose the regiments. While normally taking a whole Sentinel Regiment some Imperial Regiments can be composed from selected elements of multiple regiments.
---
Organisation
The Fusiliers Regiments are composed along the same lines as the standard Astra Militarum Infantry Regiments. Abhuman auxilia is often looked down upon but proper consideration by the Commissariate Attaches can prevent issues from arising.
The only notable variation is that veteran regiments attempt to fully mechanise the command elements, due to the value of mobile command and the expanded vox suites. This has sometimes been taken from shattered elements of allied regiments, in which case they would attempt to preserve the original colours in respect of their allies.
---
Equipment
Despite the noble heritage of the formations, the standard uniform of the Fusiliers is a simple set of fatigues which are coloured to fit their deployment.
Their most distinctive element of their uniform is the fez they wear. For the standard field infantry this matches the rest of their uniform and those for the officers are composed of a white material.
Unlike other regiments, there is little consideration for the use of armoured plates. This is in part to the perceived inadicuatecies of available flak armour, outside of confined operation areas, but also due to the
The primary arms for the regiment is the Model 81** Frankish Las Rifle. More comparable to a designated marksman weapon for any other regiment, the M81 brings a greater priority to methodical and focused fire. Automatic fire is available but only in short bursts.
The Model 10 Long Arm Grenade sees great value for squads. Some units have also organised themselves in such a way that the squad support teams forgo a primary weapon in place of carrying bandoliers of grenades.
Other support weapons, such as flamers and meltas, also have local variations but are condensed within special weapon units with a disapproval to dispersing the power of the weapons.
---
Notable Regiments
2nd and 105th Regiments
Commandeered by Lord Inquisitor Orphillius Caz, the regiments were deployed in support of the Praesidium steel Bloods to relieve loyalist forces which were ambushed by the Chaos Knight House Hak’Nax and traitoris in the 22nd Imperial Annihilation Army.
Due to the nature of the engagement and allies, the remaining members of the regiments were refined into the 1st Luciferian Stormtroopers Regiment. They have mainly been used in security roles for the Ordo Luciferian but they have seen secondary deployment for the collection of Chaos Artifacts in relation to the Everchosen Title.

Was going through Lexicanum and the Black Crusades, and only the 13th list Sisters of Battle.
The real reason is likely that GW makes the Sororitas so incredibly boring and never use them, but it also makes sense that unlike the Astartes Chapters, whom answer to no master, the Orders-Militant of the Adepta Sororitas are the Chambers-Militant of the Inquisition. Despite their rank of Adept, they are nothing but slaves to the Inquisition.
There’s only one thing in the Imperium that can stop an Adeptus Astartes chapter, (other than another Astartes chapter), and that is being declared Excommunicate Traitoris. The only middle ground at all it penitent crusades.
The Sororitas are stuck in a pissing contest between the Adeptus Ministorum, the Adeptus Terra, along with PDF, Astra Militarum, planetary governors, et cetera, to the point they are basically hobbled.
The best answer to this is, of course, fanfiction.
Pretty fucked up that the Adepta Sororitas only participated in the 13th Black Crusade, just in time for everyone to get overshadowed by Primaris. There are six other Black Crusades they could have fought in. It’s almost like the Ecclesiarchy doesn’t care about the welfare of the citizens.

OTD - DCCCLXXXII “St. Veska’s Cathedral”
(If you have any questions, feel free to check out the about page in my sidebar!)
+++Lexob Sector Inquisitorial Archive Files Accessed +++ +++ Awaiting Inquiry… +++ > Retrieve OTD-DCCCLXXXII +++ Retrieving… +++ +++ File Found. Clearance granted.+++ +++ “Serve the Emperor today, tomorrow you may be dead.” +++ OTD Number: OTD-DCCCLXXXII
Designation: “St. Veska’s Cathedral”
Threat Class: Hereticus Majoris
Status: Site under quarantine.
Conditions of Containment: While OTD-DCCCLXXXII is in its inactive state, it is to be manned by a skeleton crew posing as religious clergy. All previous communications and records have been altered to refer to the structure as a Monastery, not a Cathedral. This is done under the deception that OTD-DCCCLXXXII houses an isolated group of devoted monks who do not allow outsiders. To further enforce this, Levy-DCCCLXXXII-Able patrols the perimeter of OTD-DCCCLXXXII under the guise of standard Imperial Arbitrators. Under no circumstances are any operatives to light any of the candles within OTD-DCCCLXXXII.
In the event that candles begin lighting in OTD-DCCCLXXXII, the skeleton crew is to immediately evacuate the structure, and Levy-DCCCLXXXII-Able is to move to the designated safe zone around the structure, maintaining a distance of at least 10m from OTD-DCCCLXXXII. During evacuation, the skeleton crew is instructed to engage the locks installed on the outside of all entrances to OTD-DCCCLXXXII to further minimize possible intrusion. When OTD-DCCCLXXXII is active, under no circumstances are any human beings permitted within the structure, or within the exclusion zone. Use of lethal force is permitted. This perimeter is to be defended and maintained for the following seven Terran days. At the beginning of the eighth Terran day, OTD-DCCCLXXXII will become inactive, and the Skeleton crew and Levy-DCCCLXXII-Able can return to their previous stations.
In the event of a breach, all forces engaged with, or encountering, OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I are instructed to retreat. Levy-DCCCLXXXII-Bachus, Levy-DCCCLXXXII-Cane, and Levy-DCCCLXXXII-Delhi are to be deployed and instructed to stay the spread of any followers of OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I for seven Terran days, as well as ensure that no personnel outside of the Ordo Tartarus encounter OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I. On the eighth Terran day after the breach, the Departmento Munitorum is to be immediately contacted for reinforcements. On their arrival, all Levies are to secure and maintain a defensive ring around OTD-DCCCLXXXII until the cessation of conflict. Ordo Tartarus Inquisitors will immediately report an unrelated heretical incursion as cause for the outbreak. Those not aligned with the Ordo Tartarus who witness OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I are subject to amnecium treatment, mind-wiping, and termination, depending on importance of personnel and resource availability.
Description: OTD-DCCCLXXXII is a Cathedral in the city of ██████, on the planet Bask. The Cathedral’s tallest steeple is 102m tall, and it occupies a space of 70m x 122m. The inside of OTD-DCCCLXXXII is decorated with iconography of the Ophelian Imperial Creed. The icons themselves however are suspect, as several of the Saints depicted in the stained glass and statues found within OTD-DCCCLXXXII are not referenced in any records or scriptures pertaining to the Ophelian Imperial Creed. The walls are adorned with writing detailing parables involving these saints, most of which involve acts of vengeance, execution, judgment, and punishment. The inside of the structure is lit with torches, and also contains 452 unlit candles.
OTD-DCCCLXXXII begins to manifest its arcane properties when the candles begin lighting spontaneously. The lighting of every candle in OTD-DCCCLXXXII takes anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour and 30 minutes. Upon the lighting of the final candle, there will be a bright flash of light on the main altar. At this point, OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I manifests as a glowing white apparition floating above the pulpit. OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I appears to bear identical resemblance Inquisitor Franz Veska, an Ordo Hereticus puritan who had gone missing in 989.M41 (See Addendum II). It is adorned with Inquisitorial regalia, and brandishes a power sword, and inferno pistol. If no humans are present within the structure, OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I will remain inert in its position above the Altar until either someone enters OTD-DCCCLXXXII, or seven Terran days pass. After seven Terran days, the being dissipates, and the candles go out.
Should any humans be in the Cathedral at the time of the manifestation of OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I, they will all be drawn to the pews, at which they will kneel. OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I will descend behind the pulpit and begin a furious sermon. The sermon is worded to incite anger and hatred in the congregation, and to call for war. OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I claims it is saving the Emperor’s Imperium by “cutting out the irredeemable cancers growing deep within its culture and people.” As the sermon nears its conclusion, humans enthralled by the entity will be fanatically praising “Saint Veska”, the name given to OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I by its thralls. They will band together, and grab the nearest object that can be used as a weapon.
It is at this point that OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I will walk down the aisle, and its followers will follow closely behind it. Upon exiting OTD-DCCCLXXXII, OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I will kill any person near itself that hasn’t sworn allegiance to its cause. It does this with the use of the inferno pistol at short range, and the power sword if its target is within arms reach. Despite resembling Imperial weaponry, the weapons of OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I use ethereal energies that can cleave through adamantium. Human targets who are struck by its inferno pistol are vaporized, regardless of how well armored they are. In addition to its armaments, OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I is incorporeal, and can’t be harmed with any conventional weaponry.
OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I can be harmed by psychic attacks, however, OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I has shown awareness of this weakness, and will deliberately prioritize any psychic targets in the combat zone. OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I is capable of battlefield strategy. It will move to destroy these targets, while ordering its followers either to flank and cause a diversion, or simply swarm the marked target. The entity itself is resilient, and even though it can be harmed by psychic attacks, it typically takes multiple strikes with highly powerful psionic energies. Wounding OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I will cause the apparition’s appearance to “destabilize”, similar in appearance to a hologram with poor fidelity. In the event that a psyker is able to successfully vanquish OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I, it will dissipate, and OTD-DCCCLXXXII will remain inert until it the next materialization event. It has been noted that in this event, the time it takes for another materialization of OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I to occur will be greater than in a normal cycle.
While OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I is enacting its purge, its cognitive effect on people around it will continue to manifest, drawing more people to it. These thralls are typically humans with a tendency towards religious fanaticism. Thralls to OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I will continue to worship the entity, even in its absence, and will engage in activities that would serve to further its goals. This can include attacking weakly defended targets, sabotage, and even infiltration. As a result, wars caused by a manifestation of OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I can rage on for weeks, or even months, after its cycle has concluded and it has dissipated. The Ordo Tartarus has judged any humans that fall to the influence of OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I as Excommunicate Traitoris, and thus are to be purged on sight. Detection and purgation of heretical elements as a result of OTD-DCCCLXXXII activity is left to Cell-XIII (“Stake Burners”). Addendum: On 2.49221.122.M42, OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I breached containment. During this incident, all three response levies took heavy casualties. Reinforcements took longer than usual to arrive, due to logistical problems caused by the YT class reality tear event following the destruction of Cadia. Primaris Psyker ████, an Ordo Tartarus acolyte planted in the Astra Militarum regiments sent to pacify Bask, was instructed to eliminate OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I immediately upon deployment. Psyker ████ accomplished this task 2 hours after planetfall. However, it was discovered that heretics enthralled by OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I had massacred Levy-DCCCLXXXII-Alpha, and taken up residence in the OTD-DCCCLXXXII. As a result of their religious practices, a manifestation event occurred a mere four days after the defeat of OTD-DCCCLXXXII-I. We are to conclude from this that the manifestation event that takes place within OTD-DCCCLXXXII can be accelerated. As a result, Levy-DCCCLXXXII-Able is to be issued heavier weapons and armor, as well as materials for fortifications, and rations, in the event of an extended defense of OTD-DCCCLXXXII.
Addendum II: An inquest of Inquisitorial Archives of the Lexob Sector was carried out, searching all records made during the final century of M.41 for references to Inquisitor Veska. Ordo Redactus allies did what they could to lift the data interdiction on the document, but the only intelligence of note we found is as follows.
Date: █.█████.989.M41
Ordo Hereticus Lexob Log DCCCXXV
██████ Cabal
Log: It has been a year since Inquisitor Franz Veska has been dispatched to Bask to [INDICIUM PURGED] with no contact indicating any problems he may have ran into. [INDICIUM PURGED] with 32 casualties, including five acolytes. Inquisitor Franz Veska is MIA. Reports have surfaced since [INDICIUM PURGED]. Investigation was inconclusive.
Addendum III: The following is a report given to Inquisitor █████ by operatives from an element of Cell-XIII (“Stake Burners”)
Detected and purged another holdout four days ago. For the most part, order has been safeguarded to the utmost. Most of these cells make it easy. They’re not like normal heretical cults. Normal heretical cults are premeditated in their foundation. Heretics are fully aware that the punishment for their ways is fire upon flesh and blade upon neck, so they plan accordingly. They know to stick to the shadows, they know not to show their faces, and they know to never, ever fight on our terms. I don’t think it’s heresy to admit that cults tend to have a malignant intelligence behind their actions.
Most of these here “St. Veska” lads, though? Idiots. Many of em take up residence in abandoned buildings and don’t even bother to keep their lanterns off. Sometimes they’re dumb enough to try and attack us on sight, not realizing that all they’re accomplishing is telling us where they are. Most of ‘em were pulled into this mess by the effects of 882-1, so they don’t know the first thing about being clandestine. Easy pickings – these lot are our bread and butter.
I hate to end this report on a bad note, however, Inquisitor. It seems that there is an exception to this typical behavior, a cult called “Veska’s Callers”. They got us off guard a couple of times, and we lost two acolytes before we started to realize these were no fools. They have eyes around us, and they’re actively gathering counter-intelligence, trying to be a step ahead of us. I like a sporting challenge, but these lot know too much. We captured one, and ████ invaded his mind. You know what she found?
They know us. They know not just of the Inquisition, but of the Ordo Tartarus. They know our movements on Bask and all about the forces stationed here, and this was just a peon. We’re onto them, though. We also know where some of their strongholds are. We’ve got plans in place to take the fight directly to them, and they’ll learn what happens when you cross the Stake Burners. The Conclave ought to know we have some new enemies. End report.
~ Acolyte ██████ ████████, of the Stake Burners.

you just can't make an Evil Overlord List-compliant Chaos Marine warband. can't be done. and you can't make List-compliant Loyalists, either, because Astartes, as a category, are too dumb to follow it (you might get some using it as a suggestion, maybe).
Traitor Guard, though...
