The first adventures of Ray-Anthony Height’s teenage vigilante get collected, courtesy of CEX Publishing and a crowdfunding campaign. Midnight Tiger was originally published by Action Lab, so it’s good to see that Height must own the rights to it, given the legal actions other creators are having to take against the company. Height said on social media he plans to launch an ongoing Midnight Tiger series next year, so check this out if you’re interested in indie superheroes.

This is the truest fact I've ever heard because this is really canon.

In one of the canon timelines Clark laser blasted Bruce under mind control.

And oh how Dick took over. You know what Luthor says?

This man has the power to single-handedly control the fate of the world.

I think it's true.

Nightwing is one of the most formidable figures in DC, without fail consistently coming out on top, so if Superman is iterating that Dick's personality and essence of being is the same, then there's really no room for disagreement.

But more truly, I think he is a Nexus.

By Marvel's definition, "Nexus Beings are rare individual entities with the ability to affect probability and thus the future, thereby altering the flow of the Universal Time Stream. These beings, each referred to as a nexus, act as the keystones of the Multiverse and are crucial to its ultimate coherence and stability."

That means that the universe hinges on the actions of Dick Grayson.

Not only does he control the fate of the world but his mere existence determines what will become of it by other people:

You can still be a nexus if you turn dark. For example Lore was a dark version of Wanda Maximoff but she is still considered a nexus. So you're right in saying that Dick Grayson is a multiuniversal constant of competence.

In the easiest terms as someone put it, "hope he fucks up" is Bruce's only contingency plan against Nightwing. The man doesn't have a clear plan how to neutralize Nightwing.

His exact words are: "As a result of overanalyzing any situation, this allows Dick Grayson to overconfident and misdirected. This will make himself open to a second attack."

So the plan is basically 'Dick is too smart for his own good so we'll have to go with a lucky surprise attack.' He's literally saying 'yupppp. Let's just hope he messed up because there's nothing we can do on ouR end.' Note that Bruce doesn't even have a back up like 'the second attack didn't work? we're fucked.'

For everyone else he actually has a coherent plan in mind- do this and they will fall. But for Dick? 'I hope he messes up enough for a second attack to actually stick. Otherwise we're shit out of luck. And lives. Fingers crossed he doesn't jump to the bad side.'

Tim also confirmed he would never make a contingency plan for Dick. The only person in the world he wouldn't do one for.

He's just that formidable of a man. Even now he can easily take down the Justice League if he wanted to.

And we know that Dick has one of the strongest wills on the planet.

if I had a penny for every time I see a fire wielding character with a dark backstory of daddy issues and facial burn scars caused by those same fathers I’d have three pennies, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened three times.

I love most of the spyral storyline (excluding the sexualization) , Dick's dynamics with Helena, Tiger, Midnighter and etc are so interesting to me and full of potential.

BUT only when Dick is written as himself. Smart, experienced, skilled, talented, a detective in his own right, etc. Not some childish himbo.

Yes, he's pretty young in spyral (21, thanks to new 52 de-aging everyone) but the cheerfulness and silliness are a front he puts on. Same as Robin's bright colors, you can't fear what you don't take seriously. It's a weapon, a tactic.

The problem is when readers don't see him as anything BUT a cheerful himbo with daddy issues, and not only do they sexualize him to the point of him being nothing but a piece of ass for the "older men" (Tiger, Midnighter... that is not to say I hate those ships at all, just when writers are being weird about them) but also disregarding everything that he is as a character. He's not some incompetent innocent fool with nothing on his mind but flirting, he is THE Dick Grayson. He is still evetything that he was before new 52.

I could talk for DAYS about how the new 52 fucked over so many characters but Dick got it easy, it's his own readers who do him dirty every single time.

The softest ship ever! Reading about them is so cute. All cuddles and snuggles, and full on comfort.

It's the best friends to lovers trope

Haven't read about them in a really long while but they used to be my comfort ship. Like these two are so soft each other that they just make me feel warm inside.

Roy

Roydick is my spicy birdflash ship. Their chemistry was more heated with them constantly getting into arguements but falling together again. Going back to the comics I realize that Roy hero-worships Dick and that's why they get into so many fights. Roy literally thinks Dick is too perfect

There's this post about them which provides comic panels about Roy constantly comparing himself to Dick

But mostly Roy wants all of Dick. He wants Dick's 100% attention of them and he hates-HATES-that Dick gives everything to Batman. It drives him so mad because he thinks Batman doesn't deserve any of Dick's attention.

Literally tells Batman- you ain't shit. I feel bad Dick had to deal with you. He doesn't deserve it for all the greatness he is.

Roy wants all of Dick and that's where I ship them including their complicated issues. What makes their relationship so great is their problems. Neither of them will compromise (Dick won't let go of Bruce and Roy won't let go of that issue), but after all the screaming and fighting they still fall back together.

It's Dick that Roy goes to every time he has to deal with Cheshire.

When I think of love, they are the epitome of it. I didn't know it was possible to feel love through paper until I saw them. One look at the chemistry is overwhelming.

"Questions about what's right and what's not, I'll always have them. Questions about my loving you? No! I do. Very much."

Dickkory love is stronger than Dick's moral ethics and Dick's moral ethics?

I've never seen Dick love anyone as much as he did Kory. There are issues that came up ofcourse. I'm pretty sure there was an anti-alien sentiment among the general public (real life?) that affected them and on top of that the Batman office wanting Dick back so they just ripped him away from the titans and rewrote a whole new love story for them while trashing Kory for it but when the public's reaction and Dick's "he's so perfect everyone wants him so let's play around with love interests for him" aside, they were the king and queen of love.

What I love about their relationship is Dick loved Kori for who she was, not how she looked. And Kori loved Dick for who he was and not how he looked. On both sides, sometimes all people see of them are their beauty not their personality or strengths or being.

Barbara

Barbara. The reason I held off on writing this.

My feelings about Barbara are complicated.

She and Dick used to be my OTP. I loved them so much I actually hated Kori for a bit, thinking that Barbara was so much better-when I was solely in the fandom. But oh how the table have turned. Very recently the feather broke the camel's back so my feelings about the two of them have changed.

Long story short, they're better off friends. But my favorite moments come from mostly short haired Barbara comics.

This Barbara was AWESOME. She was so chill and cool and funny. She would be smart but not in a demeaning way to others.

Apollo/Midnighter

love them!

I think Midnighter would totally seduce Dick into a frenemies with benefits arrangement. I mean he's halfway there.

But aside from the usual flirting, Midnighter really, really, REALLY respects Dick's fight skills. I'm sure you've seen the panels of that already but since posts have a 30 image limit I'mma skip over that to the other reason: his greater-that-meta-human tenacity. Things and circumstances that take out metahumans, Dick surpasses through sheer will power and dedication.

So I mostly ship Dick/Midnighter but Apollo would probably join in too at some point.

Constantine

Never getting over how John-I don't do things I don't have to-Constantine saved someone because their body was hot and and their butt looked good. But later on in the comic he talks about how cool he was and what he describes Dick as is when asked about him is:

I have been following along with Truegreen7's series on Youtube where he and 3 other Fakemon artists get together to design a new pokemon based on the same prompt. This Prompt was: Convergent Evolution like the Wigglet and Toedcool lines introduced in Gen 9. Convergent species are ones who independently evolved a similar body plan and appearance to another species simply because evolution came up with the same solutions for both species because it just works. The example I used here is he Thylacine/Tasmanian Tiger a Marsupial that came to the same body shape as a canine like a small wolf, so I used Rockruff and Midnight Lycanroc as the base for Tazruff and Thycanroc. I am thinking they should be Electric/Dark type, Dark especially so they have stab damage on Bite and Crunch, Thylacines were known to have a strong jaw. Unfortunately they are extinct now because of British colonists in Australia hunting them and then neglecting them in captivity.
