When my body turns to earth

And the insects till its berth

The tongue of the fen licks clean my bones

This tunneling den subdues my groans.

Habeas corpus, spirit wracked

Sightly grief is not the act.

Gaze upon the body borne

Judgement beckons flesh to mourn.

nothing, just tolkien originally writing down the hobbit because his son christopher kept complaining that he'd change the details from night to night and then christopher later being so crucial in taking tolkien's notes and turning them into fully written novels of worldbuilding. loving someone to the point of creation and then having them help you finish the job.

Sinew ripens and repairs

Like the cores of stringy pears

Please, god, let that be my purpose 

Call these hands to heal, not hurt us

Bitter, deep, and holy sinew

Be enough to divinate you

Let rose lenses fill your eyes

Matches sold to freeze you alive

Tinderbox and serpent maiden

Tear-stricken and heavy-laden

Throw him down to lion den
