The Goat and the Sheep
Upon the crossroads' weary stone I stood, Two forms before me, neither bright nor good. A goat, with eyes that burned like brazen fire, A sheep, whose calm concealed no heart’s desire.
"Come," spake the goat, its horns a gleaming crown, "Life’s summit waits, though cliffs may drag thee down. The path is cruel, the edges sharp as knives, Yet glory’s height redeems a thousand lives."
The sheep, more mute, yet in its silence wise, Gazed soft with depths unseen by daring eyes. "Choose me," it murmured, low as twilight’s breath, "My path is quiet, free of toil and death. No heights await, no laurels to attain, But peace is mine—no triumph, yet no pain."
Between them stood I, bound by dire debate, Each course a prison, choice a bitter fate. The goat’s wild gleam bespoke a savage fight, The sheep’s soft gaze—a shadowed, endless night.
"Must all the world be thus—a cruel jest? No road unthorned, no haven ever blessed?" The goat laughed harsh, "To climb is to endure." The sheep replied, "And yet, the plains are sure."
At last, I stepped, though plagued by doubt profound, Toward trails unseen, unlit by stars around. The goat leapt bold, its mockery in my ear, The sheep kept pace, its whispers soft and clear.
"Too frail for ascent," the goat’s scornful cry, "Too bound by fear to reach the open sky." The sheep intoned, "Regret is but thy guide, When paths are chosen where dreams cannot bide."
And so I trod, though neither beast I tamed, Their courses yoked, their destinations maimed. For in their steps, I saw the same bleak shore— No goat nor sheep could grant my spirit more.

the way the theme of home and tommy being buck’s home has been following them since season seven with “come home and be with your man”…..his loft becoming more lived-in when he was with tommy….the closest he came to finding a sense of “home” after moving out of the loft was after a night spent with tommy….how they have yet to find their way back to each other and buck still has yet to find home…..

I want to Life of Pi Vincent
I feel he is the type of person who would easily fall in love with any religion he is exposed to because God has infinite aspects and Vincent wants to understand Him completely. He would secretly convert to all religions he encounters and practice them his own way, discovering the best aspects of each along the way.
And then of course get swept and lost at sea for a year with a tiger, a hyena, a zebra and an orangutan (perhaps representing Tedesco, Tremblay, Adeyemi and Bellini respectively idk)
After which he washes up, joins a seminary etc etc and becomes pope, all the while still secretly collecting religions like stamps because he "just wants to love God".

Something something about us being shown Eddie developing his cooking skills before buck - that were shown Eddie being able to cook a full meal (and bake) before were shown Buck doing the same thing. And something something about that foreshadowing Eddie having his full feelings realisation before buck.
Eddie’s cooking skills are on display in 5x11 outside looking in when he cooks dinner for buck Chris and Taylor - and he’s baked cupcakes for desert as well.
But we don’t actually get shown buck cooking a full meal until the 6x01 lasagne. He’s only got as far as breakfast foods when he makes Maddie an omelet in 2x04 stuck but we don’t get shown him actively cooking again until he makes the lasagne.
After that its hit and miss on the cooking and baking front for buck - burnt lasagne in a 7 and I’m assuming his baking isnt that great in 8x07 by the way Chim has one bite and then pushes the loaf away before he masters the ziti, garlic bread etc in 807 and then later the scones in 8x08.
#there’s something about the idea that Eddie has the space and some outside help and got results quickly#that once given some help from Linda he picked up cooking quickly and easily#and he’s good at it - playing on the idea that Eddie doesn’t need to look outside of Chris and Buck and that he’ll figure that out#but buck has been struggling with it - he’s more hit and miss - he starts to get somewhere - finds a recipe that works#the baking being bad but getting better symbolises his recovery from hs failed relationship - he’s getting better#the scone being good and connected to Eddie - and the first lasagne being good and connected to Eddie#is showing us that it’s Eddie that is good for buck - that when it’s connected to Eddie it’s successful#but that buck hasn’t grasped that yet#and that it’s connected to buck - we see Eddie cook only for Chris and for buck (and Taylor but she doesn’t count really)#bucks gonna get there when he figures out he already has the perfect recipes - he just keeps trying to improve on what he already has#and he needs to recognise that and then he will figure out he loves Eddie and what they already have#so yeah the coooking and baking is a metaphor for buck and Eddie’s respective journeys to feelings realisations#I love a good metaphor and especially good ones#buckle up for bucks bumpy road ahead#food and cooking skills as a metaphor for love#Maddie raised buck - that’s why she’s breakfast food#and the scone is actually the only thing of bucks we’ve seen Eddie eat - the last thing - so buck getting the scone right is telling#it’s suggesting bucks baking adventures are over - telling us Eddie is the last - Eddie is the right one#so I don’t think we’ll be seeing buck cooking again until he’s figured out that he’s in love with Eddie#or if we do it will go badly#until he realises he’s in love with Eddie#I love this show so much#911 abc#evan buckley#eddie diaz#buddie

tbh me personally even thoigh the idea of a class of people being forced to repress their emotions feels very similar to the realities of racism esp antiblackness i prefer what we got because for one when people first started working on the project it was just "what if we did an animal movie again" and not "lets make a race allegory" and secondly if they went with the first plot im pretty sure whatever conclusion they couldve come up with wouldve been even more insulting than the current version.
Yeah, that's where I stand. I think a lot of the moments that make people want the original plot look good only in isolation. These scenes work because they're being viewed as a "what if" and not an entirety of a story that probably would not have been nearly as satisfying as people like to imagine it would be (or only enjoy it for the perceived quality and maturity that people think "darker stories" hold).
I think it also just throws off the messaging that the actual plot they went with did much better? I see the value in the metaphor that the shock collars have, but I think it's so cartoonish and lacking subtlety that it completely absolves the audience of any real thought or introspection. Yeah, wouldn't it be fucked up if people wore shock collars? Thank goodness that doesn't happen lol <- sarcasm, but like, you get what I'm going for here, a large chunk of the audience for Zootopia is never going to recognize the metaphor and how the deleted scenes portray certainly doesn't help either (predators getting shocked by the collars because of being splashed doesn't help, it's so...slapstick in some of the deleted scenes, it actively ruins the messaging).
Hate it or not, I think Judy's journey of grappling with her bias and recognizing her own bigotry is a lot more grounded and I think gets the message across better than the shock collars ever did.

you know i’m also neutral-to-anti percabeth depending on how annoyed i feel that day and i feel extremely validated by your anti percabeth tag bc i feel like everyone thinks im insane
I know! But it's the fandom that's insane. They're all fooled by the mist of the narrative but we're sighted mortals who see the truth, for real.

Ok so I hate when people do the whole toxic positivity, empty encouragement thing of being like “[disability (in my case ADHD)] is a superpower!”, because like some people would just like to be able to brush off the discomfort of the legitimately disabling aspects of your disability.
However, can we talk about how superpowers/superhero origins stories are unironically some of the best disability allegories in media? In this essay I will-
