Sometimes a simple detail, found in a deep look, unleashes an unexpected surprise, creates a great space, a place where you feel that nothing inside you will be the same again and you will feel that it grows and will remain in your heart.

a meditative november.
Sometimes courage is in forcing yourself to stick with your plan to go slow, progress gradually, and trust in the future, rather than throwing yourself into the deepest end out of desperation to “get ahead,” knowing full well you won't be prepared, which would unnecessarily heighten the chances of failure at something you truly value and don't want to play with.
I've been having to remind myself of this all summer and all semester. It's actually not UNrealistic to go slow to go far. And deep down I know this, but the world we're in sometimes makes us feel so pressured to live fast...sometimes even before we're ready. Which may lead one down the rabbit hole towards the whole concept of sink or swim and survival of the fittest, where if you know you can't immediately speed up because you know you'd sink, you think you're just not fit for life. Nothing could be further from the truth, and it's a real advantage to have that self-awareness, to know your current limits. The time you spend now slowly growing and exploring other ways to get to your dream (even if it may seem to take you further away from it at first) will make you so much more experienced, resourceful, inventive, mature, and ready in every sense of the word than those who choose to hurry.
There are undoubtedly merits to living at a faster pace and I'm sure we're all well aware of it in this world we live in. But what I'm trying to say is that there are also equally valuable merits to living at a slower pace, and for some of us, that's what we need. And so we should give ourselves permission to do that when we can in order to thrive long term. To hell with the societal pressures to do otherwise.

Admit it. You aren’t like them. You’re not even close. You may occasionally dress yourself up as one of them, watch the same mindless television shows as they do, maybe even eat the same fast food sometimes. But it seems that the more you try to fit in, the more you feel like an outsider, watching the “normal people” as they go about their automatic existences. For every time you say club passwords like “Have a nice day” and “Weather’s awful today, eh?”, you yearn inside to say forbidden things like “Tell me something that makes you cry” or “What do you think deja vu is for?”
Face it, you even want to talk to that girl in the elevator. But what if that girl in the elevator (and the balding man who walks past your cubicle at work) are thinking the same thing? Who knows what you might learn from taking a chance on conversation with a stranger? Everyone carries a piece of the puzzle. Nobody comes into your life by mere coincidence. Trust your instincts. Do the unexpected. Find the others.

You can’t see the stars without the night, just as you can’t find your shine without enduring the darkness. Embrace the shadows; they make the light worthwhile.

A sad update...
People ask and I haven't really addressed it. I found out I have a cyst in-between my fallopian tube and left ovary that has been causing me great pain since I was 15 (I'm 31 now). I hit my deductible but won't know if this needs to be removed, or if it's cancerous until January probably. So big joy there. Also, my 18 year old cat Pumpkin, who is my ESA is dying. He just had a vet appointment and the vet said he doesn't have long. I'm very sad, because my parents let me adopt him as a kitten to help me cope with my bipolar when I was diagnosed. I have a very fun job and I love it so much but I don't make a lot of money and have struggled a bit this past year. My dating life is non existent, because I hate myself so much I can't let myself date anyone. And my friends ignore me asking them to hang out on weekends. I also have a toxic and rocky relationship with my only family.
I see this fandom as a fun distraction for evenings and weekends. But sometimes people can be nasty, and I'm not really talking about anti shippers. I won't get deep into it. But know that I'm not that deep, I create for the sake of creating and to have fun and spread some joy. I like making people laugh. It makes me happy. I don't see why some people feel the need to gatekeep, or make you kiss their ring.
The Cat in the Hat once said, "it's fun to have fun but you have to know how." Some people really need to learn to have fun, let their hair down, and not have to police every theory, avenue of creativity, or be so defensive. Let people like stuff, let people get joy out of something. Let people create in peace.
Not tagging my fandom, but if you follow me, you know what this is about.

Might not shoot a person but kill an ant; is the value of life determined by the size of the body or human-centric understandings of social contributions or responsibilities?

Big fan of budget-friendly hedonism actually
The idea that hedonism needs to be big and lavish and expensive is classist af! Go spend two bucks on a vase of flowers and place it in the middle of the table. Congratulations! You have achieved a hedonism! 🥳 Those flowers will bring you joy every time you walk into the room for the next week (two weeks if you learn how to look after them properly).
Now go indulge on your favourite food, wear your favourite outfit, listen to your favourite music! Hang out with your best friends, doing whatever you enjoy doing most together! There are so many earthly pleasures that are affordable on a low budget! Now go, indulge!

There’s a Gumball (TAWOG) episode in which Gumball and Darwin want to find the meaning of life. They go around and end their day dejected- every meaning of life the adults they knew gave them made them sad. They go into the park and sit on a bench with Sussie, who is throwing mayonnaise onto the groin with pigeons eating it. She asks them why they’re sad, and they explain.
She says something which has stuck with me for years, since I first heard this line “life is about the journey” (it’s a longer line, but that is what stuck with me)
Whenever I’m sad over college, I remember that life is about the journey. It’s everything. It’s finding joy.
Go and see your friends! Look at what interests you! Play video games! Accept yourself. Life is about the journey, and we should embrace that.
