"The gap between high-functioning and low-functioning Autistic people is too wide. This is why they need to be two separate diagnoses."
There is no gap, there are people there.
There is no gap, there are people there.
There is no gap, there are people there.
There is no gap, there are people there.
There is no gap, there are people there.
There is no gap, there are people there.
There is no gap, there are people there.
There is no gap, there are people there.
There is no gap, there are people there.
THERE IS NO GAP, THERE ARE PEOPLE THERE!
MSN Autistic people exist. Separating the spectrum is to leave us behind. Stop forgetting about us.

There’s no such thing as work-life balance for neurodivergent & chronically ill people.
This is because everything in my life requires work:
maintaining friendships
keeping up with my hygiene
managing bills
making money
remembering my basic needs
sleeping regularly
outputting creatively
All requires some aspect of work for me.
And when everything in your life requires work, your balance goes out the window.
If you're neurodivergent and overwhelmed — I see you.
If you're chronically ill and overwhelmed — I see you.
You're not dysfunctional.
You're not incapable.
You're doing your best.

My doctor and therapist: now with this autism + ADHD diagnosis you need to learn to unmask because masking all the time will make you burn out again and feel like shit
Other people: well it's just interesting how after getting the diagnosis you suddenly start behaving like that I mean I'm not saying you're faking it's just funny how you suddenly cannot be normal like you were before

the phoenician scheme: you'll be fine
ok initial thoughts about the phoenician scheme incoming. i literally just watched this a few hours ago and am going to lay out my off-the-dome thoughts. i cannot say how accurate they are to what the movie was trying to communicate. but this is what i got out of it:
the ending scene of the really hit me. zsa zsa and liesel pull out a deck of cards and drink some whiskey at the end of the workday. they don't seem to care who wins or loses. they just play. for fun.
it hit me because i can't remember the last time i played a game, card game or otherwise, in which i just played for fun. i've always played because i've felt i had to win, to achieve, to show the people around me i'm worth something. what a lot of pressure for something so trivial. it's not that serious.
life isn't that serious.
zsa zsa is undeniably an unethical businessman and makes anti-humanitarian deals. yet he plays cards with liesel in the end. he gets to enjoy himself. if he can, i certainly can. right?
i grew up catholic so i still have this idea that there is a way of living correctly that still evades me to this day. and i've noticed there also seems to be a cultural shift in that direction as well. there seems to be a right way of saying things. a right way to do things, to be. a wrong step and you're not right. you actually suck. but really, there are many ways to do, to be. you can smoke and be the happiest person in the world. you can lie and cheat and have a good life. you could be chronically ill and love your life. you could also be the most unethical, lying, cheating scum and be fine.
zsa zsa was fine as a lying and cheating businessman. he was also fine at the end as a chef. liesel was fine as a nun. she was also fine as a non-religious whiskey drinker. bjorn was fine as a tutor, administrative assistant, spy, and ex-spy. maybe i'll be fine, too.
there is no karma. there is no one way to live. the universe doesn't punish you for being bad and reward you for being good, as much as we wish it would. when people do bad things, they might actually not get what's coming to them.
perhaps zsa zsa did in the end get what was coming to him. he lost his fortune and his big plan--the scheme of his lifetime--did not come to fruition. but did he really end up in a bad place? did he actually get what was coming to him for all the harm he caused? he ended the movie playing cards with his daughter after work. that seems like a pretty good deal.
so maybe it's easier to just forgive quickly and move on. retribution doesn't seem to do much but eat at you. maybe it is just easier to let things go. to live your life. to find a way to enjoy it. idk.
