this moment never fails to make my breath catch in my chest. gojo knows that every step he takes forward brings him closer to his last moments with geto, and yet he drops down to geto’s eye level, drawing out the moment nonetheless.

there’s something so heartbreakingly loving in the way gojo refuses to take geto’s life from a literal and figurative place above him. gojo dropping down to meet geto head-on in his final moments is an undeniable act of love, because it tells us without telling us that even after everything that happened, gojo has never viewed himself as superior to geto.

gojo refuses to mar their last interaction with the godlike superiority thrust upon him. he won’t look down on geto, literally or figuratively, purely because he loves and respects him too much to do so. it’s so unbearably tender, the way he lowers himself down, almost akin to the way one would comfort a child.

gojo knows he has to be the one to do it. despite the viscerality of the act, he remains so, so breathtakingly gentle. gojo simply will not take geto’s life in any way that does not honour him.

by dropping to his feet, gojo is saying ‘i never considered you beneath me’. it’s him saying ‘i never left you behind even after you left me’. he’s saying that even as i take your life, you’re taking mine too.

we don’t have to hear his last words to geto to know what he said. we see it now, plainly and indisputably. he shares his last words when they’re at eye level because to gojo, they never stopped being equals. and his last words, which were for geto alone, were never going to be shared from a place that didn’t honour the mutuality of their connection.

it’s true that gojo loved him, yes, but he loved all of him, a fact which remained true right up until geto’s last breath and every day after that.

That’s Dandan! He does even have a wiki page. He used to work in gold-stripping along with Laios and Falin, and then was a part of Laios’ party, and eventually introduced Chilchuck to the party(and the marriage seeker mage?)! He has connections alright, and he sure is in the half-foot guild. He is a very minor character so panels of him are limited… Luckily I have a buddy obsessed with him so I have them on hand, this might be literally all panels of him out there idk atp

I recommend reading the extra on Laios’ party formation if you haven’t already, and since it’s pre-canon it’s not spoilery for anime-onlies. There’s also speculation that he may be related to Chilchuck’s wife or Chilchuck himself because of the black curly hair like Fler, the freckles and his heavy lids (his design does differ from appearance to appearance lol but he does generally have noticeably deep-set eyes). Plus the panel below, which may imply he’s always been a family friend… Speculation though as I said, more on it here in the hair section if you’re interested. Descent into Avernus and Why You Should Read It.

(Or, like, at least skim!)

Descent into Avernus is the D&D 5E module describing the events that took place just before the timeline of Baldur's Gate 3 picks up — including more information and context for the ordeals undergone by the tiefling refugees.

The module is described as "complimentary [sic.] to the story of Baldur's Gate III", and the studio itself made a point to note that they "worked with Adam Lee, one of the lead writers of Descent Into Avernus, when crafting the story of Baldur's Gate III."¹

The section I would most strongly recommend taking a look at concerns the city and citizens of Baldur's Gate itself, the "Baldur's Gate Gazetteer", spanning from pages 158 to 215.

Included here are things like:

A stat block and bio for Nine-Fingers Keene (although, sadly, nothing on just what she has going on with Jaheira–).

Further information on Dukes Ravengard and Stelmane.

A full map of the city, and subsequent sections giving details of each region.

A section on Ramazith's Tower, and its current master, Lorroakan.

Details on a variety of named and well-described businesses.

Further clarifying information on exactly what is going on with Wyll's new horns.

I think the meta library @good-omens-meta-library season 1 is awesome and the person or people who maintained it are incredible. I am wondering if the meta from season 2 was too much too fast? Also, I understand that life happens to all of us.

GLAAD has released its 2024 Social Media Safety Index report, revealing what it says are significant failures by social media platforms to protect LGBTQ+ users from hate speech and harassment. According to the report, most major platforms continue receiving failing grades for handling LGBTQ+ safety. TikTok was the only platform to improve, moving from an F to a D+.

The report paints a grim picture of the online landscape for LGBTQ+ people in an environment rife with disinformation. The 2024 SMSI report evaluates the performance of six major platforms: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), and Threads. TikTok received a D+ with a score of 67 percent, while Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube each scored 58 percent, and X scored 41 percent. Threads, in its first evaluation, scored 51 percent. Despite these platforms’ stated policies against hate speech, the report finds a significant gap in enforcement, leaving LGBTQ+ users vulnerable to harmful content. The SMSI highlights how social media platforms are increasingly being used to amplify hate speech and disinformation, with algorithms often prioritizing engaging content over accurate and safe information. According to GLAAD, this creates a breeding ground for harmful rhetoric, which can escalate into real-world violence and discrimination against LGBTQ+ people.

LGBTQ+ advocacy group GLAAD released the 2024 edition of its Social Media Safety Index, and it reveals that social media companies are failing LGBTQ+ users, despite the fact that those platforms have rules against allowing hate speech. X (formerly Twitter) is the worst of the bunch.

I wanted to ask you, do you have any advise in making meta analisys? I'm interested in making some analysis on the dsmp lore once i finish the lore and start watching the vod closely. But i feel kind of intimidated by seeing how people can be rude to each other when talking about the lore and a bit lost on how to interact with other's analisys. And wanted to know if you have any advise for people who want to start on the meta analysis part of the fandom?

Well, I'd hardly call myself an expert since well... I'm not exactly one of the ogs here and I'm getting the impression there are many people here who don't exactly like what I have to say, but you ask so I'll give you my two cents and hope I don't lead you a stray.

You will probably notice a variety of how people go about their analysis. I wouldn't say there is a right or wrong way, it's not like we are professionals or anything, we are just having fun looking at a story and its elements. Some people take that too seriously, which is unfortunate since at the end of the day we are talking about characters of some Minecraft roleplay series. But it's easy in a writing format to come across the wrong way and make people feel attacked, because there isn't tone or body language and stuff.

Anyways, here are I guess some of the things I keep in mind.

There is a difference in fact and opinion, and just because I see things a certain way doesn't make it fact or the other person wrong, so the way I make sure to highlight this is through statements like - "the way I see it" "in my mind" "in my opinion" "personally I see it as" "I think" "I feel like" "It is interesting to me"... etc phrases to emphasize that this is my opinion, but that is not the end all be all. I also like to include plenty of "perhaps" "maybe" "I don't knows" and legitimate questions in there. I do this to hopefully open it up to say - hey this is how I see it - which hopefully comes across as less as me correcting them but just adding thoughts. One of the things that frustrates me sometimes, is that I see people say things as if they just are facts and true when they aren't necessarily. Something that further frustrates me when no evidence or way for me to see for myself is provided. Which is why I also try to provide, links, clips, quotes and stuff so people don't have to just take my word for it. Not to say I am always great about doing this or that it is always required, there are some things that are just more wildly known so it's not needed to cite everything. My rule of thumb for this is if it's more obscure or not common knowledge, so whether it's word specific, a scene not talked about, an like an academic source (or if I just so happen to have it clipped or written down lol XD). Not that you have to do either of those things of course, it's very much up to you how you want to do it, this is just how I do it because my autism engineer ass likes the facts and the why and how of things. Like if you say 'c!Dream's hair is green' I'm like - okay, that's an opinion, good for you - but if you say 'I think Dream's hair is green and this is why', then I'm a lot more interested in what you have to say, but again that's just me. It is worth noting also, that I'd say don't insult someone's intelligence or person because of something they said about a Minecraft boy at 3am ya know? Try to avoid being derogatory or nasty. You don't have to respect their opinion or agree, but you should respect them as a person, a person with the right to say something on the internet without being bashed because people don't like it. I would say it is better to say I think 'this take is dumb', not 'you are dumb' because of this take (though also probably best to avoid dumb in general as it is kinda derogatory and rude but hopefully you get the gist). It can also be nice to highlight something you agree with or liked that the other person said to make sure you're not being all negative and give them credit when you are agreeing and adding to a statement so they don't think you are correcting them.

Other things I do, to hopefully not come across aggressive is not using all caps or exclamation points - cuz in my mind I'm like why are you yelling at me ya know :( - I prefer italics and bold and sometimes capitalizing words, but that's just how I do it because I noticed that those things make me feel attacked whether or not that person meant it that way. Sometimes people will straight up say they are done, but sometimes it may be is less directly, so in general I'd say if the other person doesn't seem to want to engage further or has conceded in any way, big or small, they are probably done talking about it. When you go past that mark, then they will definitely feel more like they're being attacked (I think this is one of the things I run into with asks as I feel done, but they continue it on (which of course I know why, they may not have gotten to share their points on the matter yet or whatever) and I'm always torn on whether to continue, because I may also just feel tired of talking about it). I'd say also either ask them permission directly or in your response, like sometimes I'll say - "I hope it's okay if I add on" because that person may not want to engage. And if it's about direct statements or arguments, then make sure the other person is made aware, like if I'm responding to tags I try and tag that person. Or if I am building off of what someone said in a different direction I might also tag them, or go to their ask box, go to the comments, or whatever. It doesn't feel good to have people pick apart what you said without being given a chance to defend yourself. Assume the best in people, they may not be trying to be a certain way, and the way you read something may not be the way they meant and I'd say it's always better to ask for clarification then take something the wrong way. (I'd say that genrally about real life too - like if you don't know a word someone is using, ask them to define or clarify, to most people it shows you are actually listening so they are more than happy to explain)

General rule - be respectful and kind, remember to not take things too seriously cuz we are talking about characters after all. We are all here to engage in something we love. <3

Also in regards to analysis and lore, I'd say be aware of bias and context and assumptions, keeping in mind are you looking at something from a character's point of view or an outsider.

the inhuman debate in season 3 really brought up a lot of interesting questions for me, about how something like this should be handled in the world of the mcu. first its relatively clear cut:

rosalinds pov: these people are a danger to themselves and others, better convince them to go into stasis until we can find a cure. people should have a choice whether they want to have powers or not and not just be forced to accept them (not that we accept yes for an answer actually and killing them is also fine).

daisys pov: these people can learn to control their powers and have a normal life and get past this, and thats the only real option. the initial damage from their powers doesnt justify the way theyre being treated by the atcu because of this. the atcu is putting them on ice, and they say theyre looking for a cure, but i dont really believe them. theyre simply putting us away because theyre afraid of us. but i can admit after some thought that theyre not wrong about how people might also just want an out (also as far as she knows the transformation is irreversible anyway, though i dont know how much of a factor this actually is, the last time she says it is before they start collaborating with the atcu and she never brings it up in the actual arguments).

but then later a cure actually seems possible, and at that point you have to think about a whole different set of problems, because now it is potentially a choice (this is a long list of questions, buckle up).

would a cure even be voluntary, and should it be?

can you justify taking these peoples powers away because of what they could potentially do with them?

powers cant only be used as weapons, should that potential risk justify taking them away?

is the security of the public worth the invasion of these citizens bodily autonomy?

can you justify putting all inhumans under general suspicion because of a few bad apples like lash?

is it right to treat these people as potential terrorists without there actually being a history of terrorism associated with them?

can you even use the potential weaponized usage of powers as an argument in a country that has this little limitation on gun ownership?

are taking their powers away or letting the inhumans roam free really the only options here?

isnt there a compromise to be reached, like what was attempted with the sokovia accords?

wouldnt it be better to try and find a productive approach for people with powers, like for example employing them in a dedicated government agency or a nonporfit organization somehow and maybe keeping an eye on them without constant suspicion, like what shield does?

is it even possible to take away the inhumans powers without major injury to them, and if it isnt, is the risk to the rest of humanity great enough to justify doing it anyway?

arent their rights protected by the constitution just like anyone elses, or can they be ignored in this case like the rights to privacy are ignored when global or national security is at risk?

is it morally correct do do this, regardless of threat potential and government assessments?

isnt a psychological background check enough?

dont these people have a legal right to keep their powers, since they are inherent and biological and the genes have been present since birth?

can powers even really be defined as separate in this case, since this is a product of their biology, and not an external weapon like tony starks suit for example, which already defied definition because he argued it was a prosthetic?

how can you generally legally justify taking these peoples powers away, while people like the avengers roam free without prosecution?

can the potential threat to the public even be used as an argument, since there are plenty of other powered people running around without inhumans being in play at all?

does the number of inhumans even justify this kind of response?

The Eclipse Index Page

In my attempt to organize all my posts related to The Eclipse for easier access for myself when I wanted to make a final thought post later, I decided to make this index page. As I plan to do a rewatch soon and write the episode’s notes and reviews, this index post might still be growing to list those.
