Lipstick on a Pig

So many days I feel like I'm just one step from being "lipstick on a pig" I'm a 7th grade special education teacher in Southern Utah. 

I've been out sick 2 days with a gift from my girl.  Before yesterday I was out Friday and Monday to be home with her while she recovered from a gift from daycare.  I GET to go to the doctor and get a doctor's note to prove that I'm really sick!  I'm so ornery about this that yesterday I about applied for the county deputy recorders position, administrative assistant to a local hunting magazine, to be a substitute teacher, an administrator with the organization that supplies schools with substitute teachers, for 3 freelance writing jobs, to work at a local crisis center and thought about working at the local town café, gas station and even calling up my boss from the old Denny's I worked at while I was in college.  I may have had a mental breakdown day on top of being feverish, weak and having the the big D! 

After some sleep and food I could tolerate I decided that I needed an outlet instead of just vomiting my craziness onto my friends, so here I am, blogging, aka, journaling in public! 

I'm a mess!  The kind of mess that can't keep house very well if at all, the kind of mess that has peed on dog pads on my living room floor I haven't picked up yet and the kind of mess that hasn't showered in almost a week.  I stink and I need to shower so I can go into the doctor to get a doctor's note.  Maybe if I just go in like I'm am he'll know for sure that I'm sick but he might call the local mental hospital.  I better shower especially since I'd love to teach in my local school so I can be close to my daughter. 

I snapped out of it this morning and realized that for my sake and my daughter, I need to stay working in special education at my school unless a better position comes open that will give me the opportunities teaching does.  In theory I don't get summers off because our contracts are school year contracts but our salary gets spread out over the summer but I can use those summers to go hiking or spend too much money on things that may or may not get used.

I hope that my ramblings will help you realize how less of a mess you are, that you want to follow along for the entertainment, to see if I can ever shape up or if you just resonate with my feelings and messy life.
