Funny Story Casting??

so im picturing a slightly younger version of Milo Ventimiglia as Miles in the Funny Story adaptation. anyone else wondering who'll be casted?

Introducing… funny shit my Neuroscience prof has said, part one!

These are all real (somewhat out-of-context) quotes from last semester. Proceed with caution.

-“The nursing department is full of APA nazis. If you’re a nursing major and you forget a comma in your citations, you’d better bend over, because your grade is coming at you fast and hard.”

-“Why were the Harry Potter books so poorly organized? They should have been called Hermione Granger and the Two Blundering Idiots. That one with the quidditch should have been called Harry Potter and the Spinal Cord Injury.”

-“GUTS. Repeat after me. GUTS. This is a dissection lab. If your table is sticky, someone didn’t clean sheep juices off their workstation properly. Oh, and always look before you sit down.”

-“Class, repeat after me. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, IT IS NOT AN AMINO ACID!”

-“Quokkas. Ever seen a Quokka? They’re adorable. Honestly, we should just move all of the Australians out of Australia and rename it Quokkaland.”

-“We’re going to focus on a sensory neuron that is already familiar to us—the FREE NERVE ENDING. You may recall from our unit on the Integumentary System that these guys are responsible for temperature and also PAIN. Interesting that a pain receptor would be involved in the withdrawal reflex, isn’t it? Interesting that I already have told you a little bit about it. It’s almost like I knew this day was coming! Whoa, like prophetic powers. WOW.” (He has no chill)

-“So these are the glands that produce sweat—because, unless you’re Prince Charles, humans sweat.”

-“…so, I stab you with a nail and you say “Grandpa! Why did you stab me with a nail?” And I say, “I’m testing your reflexes, it’s an important neurological diagnostic procedure GIMME YOUR OTHER HAND!”

-“I shouldn’t have to tell you this because you’re supposed to be mature adults, but please don’t take freaky photos with the skeletons and post them to social media. Our class has a bad track record with this and it’s unnecessary. Imagine explaining to Granny why your feed has a photo of you doing the nasty with a skeleton?”

𝐖𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐄𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤❕ It’s been a while since I read Beach Read, and that was my fave of all Emily Henry books I’ve read, and I’m happy SO HAPPY to have another favorite 💙

The storytelling of Funny Story is just on point. I really love how Emily Henry builds the story and sets out the characters as well. Another one thing I also love about Beach Read. However, Funny Story’s is much more in the lighter side whilst Beach Read in the heavy side. But that did not mean I love Funny Story or Beach Read less. I LOVE THEM BOTH ❕️❕️❕️❕️❕️❕️

I wasn’t expecting a fake dating or relationship trope at play here, but honestly, it didn’t really feel like it since they were just being themselves and no faking and whatsoever for me. They’re just genuinely attached to each other, but not complaining.

Anyway, Miles and Daphne were such a precious. I love how their romance came through. They were just perfect. They really made me feel so many things.

The ending is perfect. The Confession is perfect. Everything is perfect. LOVE LOVE LOVE 💙💙💙 I can’t wait to read more Emily Henry. This is also a cue to finally start Happy Place 🙈 I have yet to read that one. I also forgot to say I have Petra and Peter.

4)The multiple times that i secretly walked to school no matter the weather. I was like 12. I also would walk all the way to other peoples houses all the way out of my trailer park to go have dinner with them, also secretly (did i mention i barely knew these people ir theur neighborhood)

3) each time i almost fell of the stage in theatre.

The fact that my entire life up to now, if i find a random thing, on the ground, in my house, outside wherever- i either ask people if they dare me to eat it or im alone and curious so i eat it anyway. Some things are not severe but mostly weird. Yes i have consumed at least two or three random pills in my lifetime.

Characters:

Lena – Queen of bad decisions but makes them look stylish.

Ethan – Hot but dumb. Like, really dumb. But hot.

Jess – Lena’s bestie, full-time chaos gremlin.

🏡 The Morning After...

Lena woke up with a headache, a muscular arm around her waist, and an entirely naked man beside her.

"OH. HELL. NO," she whispered.

Ethan groaned. "Why are you yelling?"

Lena froze. "Wait… did we—?"

Ethan blinked at her. "Did we what?"

Lena flailed. "You know! The thing—"

"You mean sex?" Ethan stretched. "Uh, yeah. Like… five times."

Lena grabbed the sheet. "OH MY GOD."

Ethan smirked. "More like, oh my Ethan. You were very enthusiastic."

Lena was going to die. Or sue him. Could you sue someone for being too good at—never mind.

🍕 Flashback to Last Night...

Jess handed Lena a tequila shot. "Drink this. It'll fix your problems."

Lena sighed. "My problem is men."

"Exactly." Jess shoved the shot into her hand.

That was Lena’s last memory before waking up in this situation.

💍 Three Months Later...

Somehow, Lena and Ethan kept accidentally running into each other. And by "accidentally," she meant intentionally ignoring his texts but still ending up in his bed.

One night, Ethan rolled over, sleepy-eyed. "Babe, you practically live here."

Lena snorted. "Nah, I still have my own place."

Ethan smirked. "Then why is your cat here?"

Lena gasped. "MR. FLOOF?!"

Ethan pointed to the foot of the bed. Sure enough, her fluffy traitor was curled up like he owned the place.

🏠 One Year Later...

Ethan grinned, handing Lena a key. "Might as well make it official."

Lena rolled her eyes. "So what, you trap me with phenomenal sex and a 30-year mortgage?"

Ethan kissed her forehead. "Babe, that was the plan from day one."

Lena groaned. "Damn it. This is why I shouldn’t drink tequila."
