• 𝐀𝐥𝐥-𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧 (𝐈𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝟏-𝟏𝟐)

As someone who's an avid watcher and fan of the DC and Marvel movies, I'm baffled to realise I haven't officially read any comics. Anyway, my comic journey started thanks to the new Superman movie, and it’s been a fun ride so far.

I’ve been browsing TikTok for Superman comic recs before I watch the new movie and found Superman: Birthright and at the same someone called All-Star Superman comic ugly—which I kind of get, but I also think it suits the classic intro vibe. For me, I enjoyed it, especially meeting characters I didn’t know. Krypto was in it, too, which reminded me I’m planning to read Supergirl soon!

I am also thinking of diving into essential Marvel comics for the Avengers’ Doomsday storyline. Let’s see where this goes 🫶

Overall, this was a fun read! I gave this 4⭐️

• 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧: 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐮𝐱𝐞 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Much more compelling Superman comic. I think the new Superman movie is much more following on this storyline, I could only guess since there's Lex Luther in the trailer. The comic also presented a much more in deoth and conplex character than the Superman vs. Batman movie. I was also expecting Supergirl nad Krypto to have a cameo, but they're not, still okay, tho!

Character design wise, I believe this one is much more appealing to me. I really enjoyed the artwork here, especially with the facial expressions, which are much clearer.

We also get to see more Kryptonian history, which were amazing, in my opinion. I was always intrigued by their characters and hope I could find more comics that showed them more.

Overall, this comic is a really great read. I would recommend this more to the All-Star Superman, in my opinion. 5⭐️

P.S. The new Superman movie was SO GOOD 😫🫶

˚₊•𓂅𓏲 Wild and Wrangled (Rebel Blue Ranch, #4) 𓂅𓏲•₊˚

I honestly wanted to like this one as this romance novel was one of my most anticipated releases. Taking account as well that I was hoping that this instalment would be better than the previous ones.

I am sad to say that I find this instalment of the series to be SO DRY. I could not care for the pairings at all, nor the romance, the chemistry whatsoever because apparently it's GIVING NOTHING.

I really did wish the writing was much more enjoyable and the characters much more likeable because my dear friends, I could not seem to like them all. 2⭐️

A very late reading wrap-up 🙈

Putting that aside, I've read a total of 28 books last month and 22 of them are both 4⭐️ and 5⭐️.

5 of them are queer, 8 of them are horor, and the rest are either sports and action ✨️.

I really did had so much fun last month and was hoping I could repeat it this month but I was obviously distracted 😫

Nevertheless, better luck next month but I'm pretty sure I'll be more busy with my official adulting life 🤧.

˚₊•𓂅𓏲 Tower Dungeon Vol. 1𓂅𓏲•₊˚

One of my recent anticipated released and read this month ✨️

I'm really happy that I was able to get the arc of Tower Dungeon, considering the fact that I ended up liking it so much 😫

■ 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐕𝐨𝐥. 𝟏 (released on July 15, 2025) 5⭐️

— A promising action-packed fantasy manga. I love the BLAME! Manga series, which is also from this author. I can really see some remnants of the art style of BLAME! on here, especially on the 1 panel full landscape illustration and, of course, on the character design as well.

I'm obviously so hyped up for this one, and hopefully, we get to see more Dragons in the next volumes 🤞🏼 As always, thank you to @kodansha_en for the cooy 🩷

Started July with banger reads ✨️

As od today, I'm consistently devouring mangas I've always wanted to read, and those I started last month, which I'm quite satisfied for I've been consistent about it, and I I have a low attention span.

Other than that, all 3 of these are 5 ⭐️ which is obviously awesome for me ✨️

Mangas I've read:

1. BLAME! Master Edition Vol. 2- Cyberpunk, Scifi, & Apocalyptic setting with marvellous storytelling. Definitely a must-read and highly recommend.

2. My Hero Academia Vol. 5- Superhero school with amazing characters and quirks (power lore).

3. Slam Dunk Superstar Edition Vol. 8- Fun and exciting sport manga, which is definitely healing and making my my elementary & high-school self squealing of happiness 🤚🏽.

˚₊•𓂅𓏲Office queer romance & hitman x blind queer romance 𓂅𓏲•₊˚

I know, I really suck at making title caption (please don't come at me 😫).

Anyway, I'm ending my June bookstapost with a queer bookstapost, which BL reads I really did enjoy 💗

If you love graphic novels/ comics/ manga and are into office romance– try and read Fated not to Meet (rated it 4⭐️). Really fast paced story and doesn't really stretch the conflict that much to unnecessary end

If you're into a kind of angsty one, a little bit of dark like hitman Top (but very vulnerable) and soft Bottom (very vulnerable too) and of course with rep disability and a marvellous story telling and art panels, read Touch Within the Abyss (rated it 5⭐️).

Last week was a blast for me. I've been able to binge quite a number of manga volumes, and most of them have been 4 & 5 reads.

I was able to continue the mangas I've started and started those I've been wanting to start for years now 🫶

𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒅:

1. Sakamoto Days Vol. 4 - 4⭐️ (Comedy, Action)

Retired assassin's previous procession comes troubling his store and family. This one's pretty okay to me, like it's getting there for me to really love it

2. Tokyo Ghoul Vol. 6- 4⭐️ (Horror. Psychological)

It's like a flesh eating vampire vs. human. Super good if you are a fan of heavy detailed graphics, lore, and action.

3. Blue Lock Vol. 7- 4⭐️ (Sports)

If you ever heard Haikyu, Kuroko No Basket, or Slam Dunk, you should read this. This is a pretty good sports manga. It's definitely one of my fave.

4. Kaiju No. 8 Vol. 5- 5⭐️ (Horror, Action)

Monsters vs. Humans. It's also like Tokyo Ghoul but more of a lighter to me and heavy on action. It's one of my favourite manga series as well 🫶

5. Haikyu Vol. 1- 5⭐️ (Sports)

Volleyball manga 🤚🏽 Love the anime so much, so I'm stating the manga 😫 Definitely one of the most well written characters.

6. Slam Dunk (Star Edtion) Vol. 2- 4⭐️ (Sports)

Basketball Manga 👌. I've been wanting to read this after watching the anime so many years ago 😫 Super happy to finally be able to read it 🫶

I'm definitely binging more in the next following days 💗

When I said that I feel like this manga series is gonna break me— I wasn't kidding.

I'm down to 2 volumes, and I'm already so attached, and it's not even funny. Not to mention, the utilisation of the metaphors and personification hits really so good and so tragically. And yes, this manga series is a brand new fave 🤚🏽

I'm gonna continue on the next volumes as I binged Sakamoto Days as well. I also plan to start another manga and continue the ones I've started in the next few days as I wait for my grad 🩷

A long overdue review 😆

I finished this last March, and I WAS HELLA OVERWHELMED right after finishing this emotional and wreckingly cute-ass-of-a-slowburn romance.

My initial thoughts of this novel were utterly destroying. I was torn apart, gagged, and somehow represented throughout the story.

This novel is one of my most anticipated releases of this year, and obviously, I am super grateful for the review copy given to me.

This romance novel is full of angst, self questioning/ reflection, and just ALL EMOTIONS. So full of deep conversations and internal conversations/ monologues that I can't help but feel attacked in every direction. I had to pause and switch to tiktok just to breathe 😆.

The characters are just so CHEF KISS 💋 🤌🏽 I love them so much, especially my gay parents 💗 and, of course, the super cute daughter. She's so everything 🤧 my precious princess.

Anyway, I really liked how slow burn it was, SO PAINFULLY SLOW BURN, I'M TELLING YOU.

Overall, this one was one of beloved romance read 💗 Obviously, with that MANY HIGHLIGHTS & BOOKMARKS— A FAVE 🫶

The anime trailer which I saw a week ago (?) really piqued my interest, so I decided to get Vols. 1-5. I'm not really sure how long this is, but I'm hoping I'll enjoy this. I also have a MASSIVE FEELING that this manga will destroy 👀.

I plan on starting this tomorrow or tonight ( I think ?) since I finished Sakamoto Days a while ago. Anyway, I really hope I'll enjoy this, and I'll probably look for more horror mangas later since I'm REALLY REALLY craving for one 😫

I never really planned on having an unplanned hiatus, but it just happened right when my industry internship started 😫

With that being said, I wasn't able to read that much as well in the months of May and April, so I guess my hiatus was kind of in sync with my reading 🙈

However, I just recently started reading again. Those 2 at the right are my most recent ones. Thank you also to Yen Press for the review copies 🫶.

I'm thinking of posting a March Wrap Up soon and, of course, my review on First-Time Caller, which is a long overdue one 🙈

Recent Read, Currently Reading, Next on my TBR, & Recent Haul

I also recently started Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Fairies since I realised I got an arc copy of the 3rd book 🙈. I'm super excited about it anyway.

I am basically frying my brains as I'm organising my thoughts on my First-Time Caller arc, which I finished last March 10. Initially, I thought this romance would just be heartwarming, full of feelings, a little bit sad, and a character study, but it was also a whole lot SADNESS & PAIN, terribly more on that.

Obviously, I liked it a lot. I was really invested and hooked. Anyway, I'm still finalising my thoughts on it, so that's it for now.

I am also hoping to read these 4 books, especially My Dark Vanessa, which I've been dying to read. Hopefully, I will enjoy it and the rest 💖

I also added a few books that caught my eye after I reviewed The Queen of Spades. I am so excited to read these soon ✨️

˚₊—At that moment it seemed to him that the dead woman darted a mocking look at him and winked her eye. Hermann drew back, missed his footing and crashed headlong to the floor.

The intriguing style of storytelling is this story's strength. It really did utilize it well from the beginning, the middle, up until the end. There's power in something unknown, and Alexander really played these two well.

I also noticed the social commentary here on society, which even more highlights the parts where Hernán and the Countess scene, which, for me, was quite something.

The presentation of human nature as falling into something like greed and obsession in this story is something that I find here quite weak or, somehow, not enough for me to be awestruck.

The same goes with the descent of madness or the supernatural elements here. However, it was fascinating to me as well.

The three, seven, ace, and queen of spades, was also fascinating to me. I really liked the symbolism there.

I've envisioned the vision here, but the presentation to me or the overall construction of the story is lacking.

˚₊•𓂅January and February 2025 Reading Wrap-Up𓂅𓏲•₊˚

A VERY BUSY MONTH.

I'm thoroughly drained from our Practicum and had no way to actually insert my reading hobby because I conditioned myself to be locked in, and the consequence for that action is me being drained 🤧

The good thing is that I kind of did well on my Postcolonial Demo teaching (as what my mentor kind of observed, so yay 💖)

Anyway, I now have some free time, so here's my absolute late January and February. Wrap Up 🙈 I would say that I did have a good time reading most of them since I've read them before and after my first half of demo teaching 💖

Manga Reads, Currently Reading, & Next Read

It's been a week since I've posted 🙈 I've been really focused on my student internship as a postcolonial student teacher and the whole ordeal is stressing me considering I have no plans to be a teacher at all 😭

Anyway, I just finished reading Spirited Away Comic: All in One Edition, and I'm super happy and grateful for receiving the arc 🫶

I've also started 2 mangas to de-stress, so I'm hoping to really enjoy the Caste Heaven📍

Solo Leveling comic is also on my radar next, and basically, I'll basically be reading more manga/ comic/ graphic novels to de-stress as my 4 months of internship goes.

Anyway, that's basically for me this week. I hope you are enjoying your week so far.
