"Wayward Pines"

I like Blake Crouch's books, not all, but most of them. He's great at spinning thrillers and always has unexpected and fast-paced plot twists. His books have been turned into TV series and movies. And today I'll share one of his works with you. So, this is the "Wayward Pines" Trilogy, a mix of horror and thriller, utopia and fantasy. I read these books with great interest. The mini-series "Wayward Pines", season 1, was filmed based on the trilogy. But the plot has undergone VERY big changes. In general, this is a series based on the general idea. However, it is also quite possible to watch it if you like this genre. P.S. Season 2 is already some kind of fiction outside the books and I have not watched it.

"Behind Her Eyes" (2021) - Mini Series. 

But first there was the book "Behind Her Eyes" by Sarah Pinborough. When I read it, I thought that if the book was ever adapted for the screen, the main character should definitely be played by Sam Heughan. And not only because the main character is a tall, irresistible Scotsman, blond with blue eyes, but also because the role is quite interesting and unusual.

The whole story is unique and extraordinary with a completely unexpected turn of events and an unexpected ending. The film adaptation appeared several years later and, unfortunately, without Sam.

But the cast did a good job and the series was filmed quite accurately based on the book.

ACOTAR Theory

Ever since Sarah Maas posted about finishing the draft of book 6, the fandom has been on edge. Speculation about who the next book will be about has become even more heated. In general, everyone assumes that the book will be about Elain. But how and with whom her love story will develop remains a mystery. I also wanted to share my thoughts and reflect on the theories. ;))

Elain and Azriel. Honestly, I like this storyline. I liked how mutual understanding instantly arose between the characters and a spark of special warmth flashed. Elain literally dispelled Azriel's shadows. But many believe that this storyline is unlikely, because it will be too banal if 3 sisters connect their lives with 3 bat brothers. But I am not against it at all. ;))) Some people think that such a story lacks conflict to develop the plot. I see a lot of conflicts here. For example, Azriel will feel he has no right to break the sacred mating bond between Elain and Lucien. Given that Gwyn has also set her sights on Azriel, he may try to drown out his warm feelings for Elain with Gwyn. And probably the mating bond will happen or not. And here we have many broken hearts and one love triangle. On the other hand, Lucien will be jealous of Elain for Azriel, and we will get another love triangle. In addition, Azriel may decide that he is not made for family life at all. His service is too dangerous, and his nature is too dark, and he does not want to bring trouble to the gentle Elain. Elain, in turn, in response to Azriel's denial of love, may become a priestess and reject a mating bond with Lucien. It seems to me that she has such a natur that she can easily devote herself to service, like Azriel. What else tells me about the Elriel line is the conversation between Feyre and Rhys about the mating bond and how its existence does not necessarily mean the unity of souls and happiness. And we know that Maas very often returns to what he said earlier. In general, as you can see, with such a scenario, quite a lot of events can be unfolded in the book. In short, my wild imagination can run wild here.

Elain and Lucien. At first glance, I did not see any connection between these two. With all my sympathy for Lucien, I do not see him next to Elain. In this case, even the "from hate to love" does not work, because there is no hatred between them and no spark. Elain initially felt very uncomfortable with him. And Lucien isn't exactly happy to be around either. They're more like burdened by each other. There's a physical attraction because of Lucien's connecting thread, but Elain is indifferent, they haven't developed any emotional closeness. This could be called a conflict, but I don't see a beautiful development for it. Besides, it's all too direct. They are Mates - they must be together. So what now? Everyone will try to persuade Elain, force her to come to terms with the existence of this bond. Lucien will perform feats and try to turn Elain to his side, and Elain will suddenly fall in love with him? Somehow it's not very interesting or romantic. I think Lucien deserves a more worthy manifestation of love towards him.

Elain and Tamlin. Yes, yes, I've seen this suggestion in the fandom. To me, it seems completely discouraging and unlikely. It's hard to imagine that after such a painful love for Feyre, Tamlin would suddenly switch to her sister. And Elain, after everything that happened earlier, would suddenly fall in love with Feyre's almost-husband. And how can Feyre relate to such a union? In my opinion, it's impossible. Although with such a turn of events, there is room to turn around and show a big conflict. And here I again remember how Feyre herself thought that Elain would be more suitable for Tamlin and she would be completely satisfied with life in the Spring Court. I repeat again that Maas rarely has phrases that are just thrown out … But in any case, this couple seems completely unlikely to me. Anyone, but Tamlin.

Now I'm very curious which theory will be in the book and how things will develop. Who will be right in the end. And what kind of couple do you think is destined for Elain?

The film "The Best Offer" (2013) is actually very unusual. When you start watching it, it evokes an atmosphere of mystery and it just breathes fantasy. It seems that now the paintings will start talking or the statue will leave the room. But... If you haven't seen this film, then I won't say anything about the "but". The ending can really surprise you a lot. This is exactly the case when you don't expect such a denouement of the story. I recommend it.

I decided to occasionally share with you the books, films and TV series that I read/watch and which I liked or disliked. At the same time, I will try to avoid spoilers.

I'll start with "The Woman in the Window" (2021). In fact, very often I first read the book and then find a film adaptation. I was impressed by the book of A. J. Finn. And I became very interested in watching the film afterwards. I can say that the film was shot almost exactly according to the book. Only a few details and scenes were removed from the script, but this didn't change the original story. But, of course, the book makes a deeper impression and effect.

In general, I recommend both.

Today I want to introduce you to my special creative experiment (I cannot exist without creative experiments!! 😆). I am very excited about its result. I present to you a song that NO ONE has heard before. I created the lyrics and melody for the book character. So this is the PREMIERE of a song created especially for Tamlin, the character of ACOTAR. These are his thoughts, his story and his world. In addition, I decided to complement the song with a video and illustrate the emotions and feelings reflected in the words and music.

But be careful. This song can get stuck in your head for a long time, whether you know the character or not. 😅It's a song about love and not being able to hold on to it. I'll be honest, I personally like it so much that it's now in my playlist. 🥰

I was afraid to approach this portrait. Those who have read the books will understand me, I think. 😄 Drawing Rhysand is a big responsibility. 😅 I have seen a huge number of images of him, who, mind you, is the most handsome and powerful man, at least in the fantasy world. 👀He was portrayed in different styles - in realism, and in the style of Disney, anime, cartoon, he was generated, he was collaged. Although everyone reads the same description of the character, everyone imagines him differently. So many people - so many tastes and Rhyses. I especially liked several versions of this character I saw. They are so different, but equally beautiful. I imagine the burden of responsibility that will fall on the shoulders of the actor who will someday be chosen for the role of Rhys. 😆 OMG! And so, keeping all this in mind, I depicted my version. I approached this portrait for quite a long time. I prepared a bunch of references for myself to catch the image that would suit me. Moreover, I will say this: as I read the books, the image in my head also changed. If in the first book Rhysand seemed to me for some reason to be an exclusively drawn grotesque anime character, then as I read he acquired more real and human features. He became more earthly, so to speak. Anyway, enough words. I present to you "my" High Lord of the Night Court.🌠👑
