The protests that happened at the macy's day parade are so important specifically because they tried to stop people from finding out about them. I watched the whole parade and didn't see a single sign or protestor, because try as they may to claim the show is live, they've been doing this for decades, they have full control over what footage the camera's capture and when ads conveniently cut away from what's happening. I found out from the few people still talking about the protests that there were any happening at the parade today.
They know we're all getting so tired and sad of hearing about what's happening. They want to make it as difficult as possible for us to interact with it, in hopes that we give up. They want you to say "It's Thanksgiving, we deserve a break from hearing about this."
I know that it hurts and it's stressful to try to help, but we have to keep going if we want anything to change. The writer and actor strikes were successful because they didn't give in.
It doesn't have to be much, you don't have to spend your days doomscrolling footage and fighting zionists. Just email your representatives each day, boycott businesses that support Israel, and hang on tight. As long as there is hope, there is a way through. The Palestinian people will be free.

Here’s a festive Throwback Thursday photo from 1969! On this Thanksgiving, the world-famous parade passed the Museum’s 77th Street turret with a very special float: a sauropod dinosaur. This inflatable Apatosaurus measured an impressive 60 ft (18.3 m) long! The giant green dinosaur featured big eyes, a wide grin, and a 20-ft (6-m) tail. The original Apatosaurus balloon made its first parade debut in 1963 and was retired from service in 1976.

Some exterior shots at Lakeside Mall, including a mall entrance, one of two Macy's stores (this one being the women's and children's apparel, the other one being men's and housewares), a former Sears with built-in auto center, JCPenney, and a freestanding former JCPenney Auto Center. The JCP auto center was probably a Firestone for a while after JCP sold their auto business to Firestone decades ago, but it says Furniture above one of the entrances, so I guess it's been a few things since then. The old JCP truck is next to the former auto center.
Both Macy's stores and JCPenney are staying open as the mall shuts down and gets redeveloped.

Question: If the first parade happened 100 years ago, why isn't this year's parade the 100th?
Answer: There was no parade in 1942, 1943, and 1944 because of World War 2. This is why although this year is the 100th anniversary of the first parade, it is only the 98th.

Macy’s Lists Toys “R” Us Tamagotchi Original Shell
Tumblr media
It was back in July, 2024 when we got our first look at this shell from the “Fun With Tamagotchi” panel at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con. As promised, this shell would be available in Fall, and we’re only a week in! Macy’s has listed the exclusive shell on their website!

The shell pays homage to the various Toys “R”Us Tamagotchi shells we’ve seen in the past and also pays homage to the icon Toys “R” Us brand. This shell does feature P1 programming. This is a MUST HAVE for a collector! You can purchase online for delivery, or pick up in store. Be sure to order here.
