I hate that in the show they introduce Sir Pellinore. And then kill him. In episode 7.

They didn't even let him live until the Questing Beast. I REPEAT. They had both Pellinore and Questing Beast in the same season and just. Didn't let it happen????? Killed him off before the thing even appeared???

Especially as they DO kill off another knight in the Questing Beast episode, namely Bedivere (if I remember correctly), who has nothing to do with the Questing Beast myth WHATSOEVER.

Pellinore had no specific reason to be the one in ep7. They just needed an npc to die. They could've just even swapped Pellinore and Bedivere places and IT WOULD'VE MADE MORE SENSE.

I just can't believe they had the opportunity. And then just. Didn't.

Thoughts on Season 1 of Merlin

I really liked the first season! The characters are definitely the highlight for me. I love Merlin's selflessness, Morgana's fierceness, Arthur's strength, and Gwen's gentleness

The dragon was also an interesting character too. He's this guiding figure in Merlin's life in Camelot and then in the end, it turns out he was using Merlin just to let him free

I honestly thought that Uther was going to be killed at the end of the season (kinda wish he was honestly)

Gaius is good character too; he's very sassy and caring. I like his dynamic with Merlin

I'm really excited to start the next season 😁

So, I'm rewatching Merlin, and this is the first time I noticed this dragon-scale wristband/bracelet he's wearing in the pilot episode. Am I the only one who noticed this??? And is it me or do we just never see it again after this???

I just felt the need to point this out because it's irking me that we seemingly never see it again!

s1 arthur's early moments of his fondness for merlin is so endearing bc merlin would just be like "oh valiant's a creep" and arthur gives him the tiniest smile before you see his walls come back up... god this show makes me feel every emotion possible

#what if… what if instead of pushing her away Merlin actually helped Morgana with magic stuff and like confided in her and they bonded over it?

#what if they actually allowed them to fight together against Uther in a way that didn’t cause Morgana to feel like she HAD to go a darker and more twisted route to bring magic to Camelot?

#what if they built off this specific scene and allowed them to be friends? what would the show be then?? #I think it would have been better. a show where Morgana and Merlin were able to work with Arthur to make a Camelot that was better for everyone. (via @wtungsten)
