Ginny contemplated the earrings sitting on the seldom-used desk in her bedroom. A simple thank you would have sufficed. The petty part of her had enjoyed hexing Harry's former girlfriend. Some people needed to learn to take no for an answer. She held one up to an ear, and studied her reflection in the mirror. She hated to admit it, but Harry was right. She much preferred them to a stodgy, prosaic bouquet of flowers. Before she could talk herself out of it, she pulled open the desk drawer and withdrew a sheet of parchment, then rummaged for a suitable quill.

Hi lovely!! So this went a bit off the rails, I had different intentions for it at first but then somehow it became very serious and the boys not so much overprotective as reasonably upset....all in all, I'm not super happy with it but I didn't want to throw it out, I'd be happy to write another overprotective one for you if you'd like!

You walk out of your office feeling odd and off-kilter. Your mind seems addled, unable to complete one thought before jumping to the next, and something prickles just underneath your skin that feels like anger and shame and also like panic.Â
Your boyfriends are waiting for you, idling at the curb. Youâre supposed to go straight from here to the cinema, and you tell yourself youâll feel better afterwards. Even if not, you have until Monday before you have to deal with this, if you deal with it at all. You may not. Youâre not sure. You canât think straight.Â
âHey, angel,â James says as you get in, and itâs immediately obvious your upset has already been noticed. Probably as soon as you walked outside, your boyfriends observing you through the car windows. Remus, in the driverâs seat, and Sirius, sitting beside you in the back, are both charily silent. âHow was work?âÂ
âIt was fine,â you reply. Your voice sounds off even to your own ears, but no one comments as Remus puts the car in drive.Â
âReady for the weekend?â James imbues his voice with a light sort of commiseration. You try to smile for him.Â
No one is more surprised than you when a sob chokes you instead. You hide your face in your hands, tears already leaking out from between your lashes.Â
âGod, sorry.âÂ
âHey, whatâs wrong?â Sirius asks, unbuckling his seatbelt and reaching for you.
Remus pulls into a parking spot just by the exit and shuts off the engine, turning around in his seat.
âBaby.â Sirius wraps his arm around your shaking shoulders, squeezing tight. He sounds anxious. âDid something happen?âÂ
The worst of your crying passes like a summer storm, over as quickly as it started. Your emotions gone haywire. You lean into Sirius, and he clicks the buckle on your seatbelt for you, pulling you the rest of the way.Â
âYouâre scaring me,â he murmurs, pressing a quick kiss to your hairline. âTell us why youâre upset, angel, please.âÂ
âI think,â you mumble, face and eyes burning, âmy boss grabbed my butt.âÂ
You say it quieter than a whisper, but you know theyâve all heard. The silence that follows is so complete you could hear a pin drop.Â
âWhat?â James asks. His throat sounds dry.Â
You hear Remus sigh. âOh, sweetheart.â The vinyl of his seat squeaks as he shifts. âWhen did this happen?âÂ
âJust now,â you answer.Â
âRight.â Siriusâ arms had gone tense around you, but now they fall away completely. He moves for his door. âIâll be back.âÂ
âDonât,â you plead. You worry he will anyway, but Remus locks the doors from the front seat.Â
Sirius cuts a glare his way, truly scary with the way wrath seems to gleam in his gray irises. He unlocks his door manually, and Remus locks it again.Â
âWe canât be rash,â he says, his own tone sharper than you think is intended for anyone in the car. âWe have to think this through.âÂ
âWhatâs there to think about?â Sirius snaps. James reaches behind his seat, taking your hand and rubbing comfortingly. âHeâs just inside!âÂ
âYou think I donât want to go in there too?â Remus gives him a look thatâs a short fall from incredulous. âBut if we have to call the police, it wonât help if youâve already had a go at him.âÂ
Your head spins. You hadnât even thought of calling the police. You hadnât really gotten past going to the cinema.Â
âWhat do you mean, you think he grabbed you, sweetheart?â James' voice is pointedly kinder than the others. Remus takes a deep breath, calming himself.Â
âI donât know. I justâI feel like I canât be sureââÂ
âThatâs alright.â Remus' voice is slower now. Soothing. âWhy donât you tell us how it happened?âÂ
âI, um.â You swallow. James strokes the back of your hand with his thumb. âI was looking at something on his computer, because he said he wasnât getting my emails and I thought they might be going to his spam. He was sitting behind me in his chair, and we were talking and his hand, like, squeezedââ you shudder, your brain trying to shake off the memory ââand then he just kept talking like nothing happened. It was so fast Iâm not sure it even didââÂ
âBaby.âÂ
You donât realize youâre tripping over your words until Siriusâ voice cuts through them. You look at him, and his eyes are already on yours, fierce but solid.Â
âDid you feel him touch you?â he asks.Â
You rub your lips together. âYeah,â you murmur.Â
Your boyfriendâs expression pinches, but his gaze is steady. âThen he did. Trust yourself. You know what happened.âÂ
This provokes another wave of tears, less tempestuous than the first but somehow more painful. You wouldn't have expected any one of your boyfriends to blame you, not if youâd thought about it, but you havenât had time to think yet and the relief that theyâre so wholly on your side makes your heart feel cracked open.Â
âDove, Iâm so sorry,â Remus says. Heâs frowning, a well-worn line etched between his brows. You hate to put it there. âWhat do you want to do? Do you know if you can contact HR?âÂ
âI donât know,â you admit, pliable to Siriusâ ministrations as he tucks you securely under one arm and uses the other to thumb at your salty cheeks. âI feel a bit silly. It was a small thing, I donât think itâs worth a bunch of fuss.âÂ
âItâs not a small thing,â says James, uncharacteristically severe. âItâs a big thingâa really fucked up thing, that he didâand itâs worth a lot of fuss. A lot.â He leans around his seatback, pressing a firm kiss to your hand. âItâs just a matter of how much fuss youâre willing to go through with, sweetheart. Itâs up to you. We can go through HR, we can go to the police. Thereâs still the option of just going in there and roughing him up to be sure it doesnât happen again.â He smiles wryly. It looks like it takes effort. âIâm very game for that option. We know Sirius is ready.âÂ
Sirius makes an affirming humph sound against the side of your head. You try to smile back at James.Â
âI think maybeâŚHR?â Your voice is tentative. âI have a friend, Marcella, who I think would be nice about it.â You realize as it comes out of your mouth what a low bar that is, but thatâs the reality of your situation.Â
âDo you know if sheâs still here?â Remus asks.Â
You feel your brow wrinkle. âI think soâŚâÂ
Remus unlocks the doors, and James gets out. You barely manage to squeak out a âWaitâ before the door shuts behind him.Â
You turn to Remus. âWhereâs he going?âÂ
âTo find Marcella,â he says. âItâs better that they know when itâs just happened, dovey, but you donât have to deal with it right now. Thatâs why James is going instead.âÂ
You nod. It makes sense, even if the reality of it all makes tears press at your throat again.Â
âMy sweet girl.â Sirius holds you tight, mashing a kiss into the side of your head. âIâm so sorry this happened, baby. Iâm sorry we werenât there to protect you.âÂ
âDonât be sorry,â you murmur, turning in his arms to hug him properly. He seems pleased with this development, and squeezes you ferociously. âYou canât always be with me. And itâs not your responsibility.âÂ
âCareful what you say.â Sirius seems to muster up some humor, a teasing edge to his tone. âIâll get us one of those big shirts so the four of us can fit in it together, and then youâll never be rid of us.âÂ
âItâs our job to look after you,â says Remus, firm but kind. âItâs true we canât be with you all of the time, but Iâm glad you felt comfortable telling us this. Thank you, sweetheart.âÂ
Youâre about to dismiss his thanks when James gets back in the car, this time in the back seat instead of the front.Â
âDid you see him?â Sirius asks immediately, scooching the both of you over to make room.Â
âNo, he mustâve left right after her.â James looks unhappy, but his touch is gentle as always as he takes your waist in both hands, easing you off of Siriusâ lap and into the seat between them. Sirius sighs but doesnât complain, likely knowing heâs had more than his fair share of your comfort.Â
âMarcella was nice, though,â James says. âShe arranged for you to have the morning off on Monday, and sheâll call you then to hear from you what happened. We can be with you, if you like.âÂ
âMonday.â You blow out a slow breath, though it doesnât do much to keep your throat from contracting in panic. âOkay, that sounds good. Thank you.âÂ
âNo worries, angel.â James rubs your thigh, watching you carefully. âYou doing okay?âÂ
âYeah, sorry.â Your voice squeaks, and you cover your eyes with a hand. Sirius whines and kisses your shoulder. You try to laugh, but it comes out wet. âI think this might just keep happening for a while.âÂ
âOh, honey, itâs okay,â Remus coos, reaching out a hand to set on the top of your head. He scratches at your scalp with his fingernails the way he knows you like. âIt makes sense to be upset. Weâll get you through this, alright? Let us look after you for a bit.âÂ

hiiii Ęâá˘. .á˘âÉ i just found your page this morning and read through your entire masterlist and i loveeee your writing! is it possible to get royal poly!marauders at a ball or something and they catch sight of the reader (can be whatever role you wanna give them) and they are like 'damn'
Hello hello~!!!
First of all, thank you so much for patiently waiting for me to get to your request. Life has been pretty hectic on my end, so writing had to take a back seat for a little while. But today, I finally had some time to sit down and write!
Now, let me just sayâ this idea is absolutely amazing! Iâm completely in love with royal and historical AUs, so thereâs a good chance Iâll revisit this concept and or turn it into a series of drabbles. (Not that Iâm particularly skilled at keeping things short!!!)
I really hope you enjoy my take on your idea đ
edit: I got a bit carried away-

The night after the neighboring kingdomâs delegation arrives, the Griffyn Kingdom buzzes with anticipation. To honor their esteemed guestsâ especially the visiting princess âthe King and Queen have announced a grand ball. This celebration is more than an act of hospitality; it is a shining declaration of unity, a glittering prelude to alliances and promises that will shape their shared future.
You find yourself standing in Princess Lilyâs chambers, the soft glow of candlelight casting flickering shadows against the ornate walls.
Before you, Lily examines herself in a floor-length mirror, her emerald-green gown a masterpiece of silk and embroidery. You and Mary fuss over the gathered fabric at her hips, smoothing it into place with careful precision.
âI can manage the rest,â Lily murmurs, her voice gentle but decisive. She steps away, gliding toward the gilded jewelry box on her dressing table. Its lid is open, revealing an array of jewels she brought for the journeyâ diamonds, emeralds, and sapphires glittering alongside an assortment of tiaras.
âYou two should get ready as well,â she adds, her tone as light as the shimmering necklace she picks up, its facets catching the firelight.
You pause, caught off guard. âWhat?â The word escapes before you can stop yourself.
Normally, Marlene would stand guard in her knightly uniform, Mary would accompany Lily throughout the event, and you would remain behindâ content to watch the festivities from a quiet corner of the castle, keeping a vigilant eye on the princessâs chambers.
âThereâs no need for that tonight,â Mary says, her voice warm with reassurance. She steps forward, deftly fastening the diamond necklace around Lilyâs neck. The glittering stones resting perfectly against the princessâs pale freckled skin. âWeâre on excellent terms with the Potters. No one here will mean us harm.â
The words hang in the air, both an assurance and an invitation. Tonight is different, you realize.Â
A diamond tiara rests atop Lilyâs head, its intricate design sparkling like a constellation of stars nestled in her fiery red locks. She adjusts it briefly, her reflection regal and resplendent. âYou rarely get a chance to enjoy yourself during visits like this,â she says softly, her tone kind but firm. âGo on, get ready.â
You nod, a small smile playing on your lips, touched by Lilyâs thoughtfulness. Her generosity warms you in a way words could never fully express.
With her gentle urging, you retreat to your own room to prepare. A quick bath washes away the lingering weariness of the day, and you do your best to ready yourself for the night ahead.
Despite your efforts, a sense of inadequacy lingers.Â
For such grand occasions, itâs expected that the lady's maids and companions are impeccably dressed, each carrying at least one formal gown for travels like these.Â
You do have such a dressâ a blush colored piece gifted to you by your mother when you first joined the palace as Lilyâs ladyâs maid.
The fabric clings just a little too tightly at the waist, its once flawless seams now strained from years of careful reuse. The soft blush color, though elegant, has faded slightly with time, its original vibrancy dulled by repeated wear. The bodice is adorned with modest embroideryâ delicate vines and blossoms stitched in pale gold thread that catches the light just enough to hint at refinement. The skirt, while gracefully cut, feels heavier than you remember, its weight pulling at your movements as if to remind you of the weight of high society.
It was the best your family could afford when you first came to the palaceâ a gift from your mother, its fabric chosen to honor both simplicity and a touch of nobility. Back then, it had been a symbol of hope, a token of pride for a baronessâs daughter stepping into the royal household.Â
Now, however, standing before the mirror, you canât help but feel its inadequacy in the face of tonightâs grandeur.
Even so, you smooth the skirt with steady hands, letting your fingers trace the faint ridges of the embroidery. This night, you remind yourself, is not about the richness of your gown, but the confidence you bring and the memories you make.Â
Perfection may elude you, but presenceâyour presenceâis more than enough.
When you step back into Lilyâs chambers, itâs clear everyone is ready to go. Lily, as expected, looks effortlessly regal in her emerald green dress, the rich color complementing her fiery red hair that cascades down her back in elegant waves. Mary, ever composed, is radiant in a soft yellow gown that perfectly flatters her figure, her dark hair neatly arranged in a low bun at the nape of her neck.
âYou look darling,â Lily murmurs, stepping forward to gently brush a stray lock of hair from your forehead. Her touch is as light as her tone, her emerald eyes warm with affection.
You roll your eyes playfully, unable to suppress a grin. âSays the actual goddess standing before me.â
âTruly,â Mary chimes in, her voice sweet as she adjusts the clasp of your necklace, ensuring it sits perfectly centered. âYouâll be the belle of the ball.â
Before you can protest their kind words, a knock at the door interrupts the moment. Marlene peeks her head in, her light blonde hair swept back into a tidy low ponytail. âLadies,â she announces with a bright grin, âitâs time to head down.â
Excitement ripples through the room as the eveningâs promise beckons.

You werenât quite sure what to do once you stepped onto the crowded ballroom floor. Back home, state balls were familiar territory, their routines and customs etched into your memory. But here, in a foreign kingdom, uncertainty clouded your thoughts.Â
Was the etiquette the same?Â
Would it be seen as rude to linger by the walls, content to watch the swirl of color and movement before you?
Must you be drawn into the heart of the celebration?
Apparently so.
You stand near one of the grand marble pillars circling the ballroom, the cool stone a comforting anchor amidst the overwhelming splendor. A glass of white wine rests in your hand, a half-hearted shield against your unease. From the corner of your eye, you notice movementâa man approaching with easy confidence. His dark hair is tied into a loose, messy bun, strands slipping free to frame his sharp features. His attire marks him as a knight of the Griffyn Kingdom, though the smirk curling at his lips carries a roguish charm and confidence uncommon in most knights youâve met.
âYou must be part of the delegation,â he says, his voice smooth, his smirk deepening as his gray eyes fix on yours.
You hesitate, biting back the urge to fidget. Heâs handsome, undeniably so, but you canât quite place why heâs chosen to speak to you. With a soft sigh, you nod. âI am.â
âI thought so,â he replies, a playful lilt to his tone. âI remember seeing you earlier, standing just behind the little princess. So, why arenât you out there, dancing?â He gestures toward the center of the room, where couples spin and sway beneath glittering chandeliers.
âIâm not particularly fond of dancing,â you say, your voice quieter than intended. Itâs not entirely true, but you hope the excuse is convincing enough to deter him.
âNonsense,â he says with a laugh, his hand extending toward you. âAnyone can see you want to. Prove me wrong, if youâd like.â
The invitation lingers between you, daring yet strangely kind.
You hesitate for just a moment, glancing at the glass in your hand before setting it down on the corner of the nearest table. Then, with a small breath of resolve, you place your hand in his. âDonât get mad if my heels end up on your toes,â you quip, a touch of nervousness slipping into your tone.
âTrust me, Iâm quite nimble. Dodging danger is part of the job,â he replies with an easy smirk, already guiding you toward the dance floor with a confidence that leaves little room for argument.
Normally, you might have countered with a quick remark of your own, but your mind is too distracted. The pounding of your heart fills your ears, drowning out coherent thought.
The lull in the music amplifies every other soundâthe clack of your heels against the polished marble, the low hum of whispered voices as heads turn to watch you pass. The weight of their gazes burns into your skin, and your hands tremble slightly as the knight clears a path through the crowd, his presence commanding in a way that both unsettles and reassures you.
Other couples filter onto the dance floor as the musicians shuffle their sheet music, preparing for the next song. The murmurs of the room settle, anticipation hanging in the air.
âWell,â you manage, your voice soft as you cling to anything that might distract you from the dozens of eyes still following your every move, âit seems youâre rather popular.â
âWhat can I say?â he responds, a teasing lilt in his voice. âI am rather handsome.â The smirk that accompanies his words is maddeningly self-assured.
Before you can respond, his hand presses gently against the middle of your back, drawing you closer. His other hand takes yours in a firm yet careful clasp, guiding you into the proper frame with a natural grace that makes it seem effortless. You barely notice the band striking the first notes of the song, your attention fixed on the storm gray eyes studying you with something close to intrigue.
You set your hand clumsily on his shoulder, your fingers brushing the smooth fabric of his maroon jacket. He doesnât seem to mind your hesitation, his movements assured and steady as he begins to lead you through a simple waltz.
To your relief, the steps come naturally, your body quickly attuning to the rhythm of the music and the gentle guidance of his lead.
âWhatâs your name?â he asks, his voice soft, nearly lost beneath the rising swell of the orchestra.
You glance up at him, your voice barely above a whisper as you give your name.
âA beautiful name for a beautiful lady,â he replies smoothly, his lips curving into a charming smile paired with a wink that, despite yourself, pulls a smile to your face.
âAnd you?â you counter, a touch of playfulness creeping into your tone. âWho might this oh-so-charming knight be standing before me?â
His eyes glint with amusement, their gray depths catching the light like polished steel. âSirius,â he says simply, the name rolling off his tongue with a quiet confidence.
You nod thoughtfully, letting the music and his lead guide you effortlessly across the floor. âAn attention grabbing star for an attention grabbing knight,â you muse aloud, a small smirk tugging at your lips. âSeems fitting, I suppose.â
His laugh is low and warm, the sound wrapping around you like the melody. âWell, I do strive to live up to my name.â
âI doubt you have any trouble with that,â you say, a soft smile playing on your lips as you hold his gaze.
The music begins to fade, the elegant notes giving way to the quiet hum of conversations around you. As the dance slows to a stop, you take a small step back, though his presence still lingers like the warmth of the ballroomâs golden glow.
âSo much for not being a dancer,â he teases, his smirk as effortless as the steps he led you through.
You turn to him, unable to suppress your grin. âMaybe you were just that good of a lead,â you say sweetly, your voice light with sincerity. But before he can respond, you catch sight of Mary and Lily across the room.
âI ought to check in on my lady,â you add, inclining your head slightly. âThank you for the dance, Sir Siriusââ
âSirius,â he interrupts gently, his tone almost playful. âJust Sirius is fine.â
You nod, your smile softening as you take a small step back. âFine, then. Thank you for the dance, Sirius. It was... unexpected, but I truly enjoyed it.â
With a final glance, you turn and make your way toward Mary and Lily, weaving through the gathered crowd. The warmth of his hand on yours still lingers faintly, and his name echoes in your thoughts like the fading strains of the musicâ a memory you suspect will stay with you far longer than the evening itself.
_____
James and Remus stepped out of the nearest sitting room, the faint hum of ballroom music echoing down the corridor. Remus, ever meticulous, adjusted Jamesâs slightly askew collar, his fingers deftly hiding the newly formed love bites that marked the princeâs neckâevidence of their brief but heated absence.
âWe need to get back before anyone notices,â James murmured, his voice low but tinged with amusement as he fixed his tousled hair.
Remus smirked. âWeâre already late. Letâs hope Sirius hasnât set the place on fire in our absence.â
But as they approached the ballroomâs grand entrance, what they saw made both men falter. There, on the dancefloor, Sirius Black was leading a woman in a waltz.
The sight itself was striking. Her blush colored dress stood out in gentle contrast against the bold, jewel toned gowns of the others swirling around her. The simplicity of her attire only seemed to magnify her elegance, and for once, Sirius appeared utterly focused, his usual roguishness tempered by something softer.
âSirius never asks a woman to dance,â a sharp voice cut through the hum of the crowd. James and Remus glanced toward a cluster of women, their faces half hidden behind delicate feathered fans. The speaker, a haughty looking noblewoman, tilted her head knowingly, her words drawing murmurs of agreement from those around her.
Remusâs brows knit together. Sirius was notorious for politely but firmly declining the endless stream of invitations to dance he received at events like these. Yet, watching him now, Remus found he could understand why Sirius had sought out this particular partner.
She was... radiant.
âWell, isnât she a sight to see,â James murmured, his voice just low enough for Remus to hear.
Remus nodded, his hazel eyes tracking the womanâs graceful movements. âIf Iâm not mistaken, sheâs one of Princess Lilyâs ladyâs maids,â he said, his tone thoughtful.
Jamesâs eyes widened slightly in recognition, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. âIs that so?â he drawled, the spark of an idea lighting his gaze.
Remus sighed, already sensing trouble. âWhat are you thinking, James?â
The princeâs grin only grew. âI think,â he said, âwe should pay a visit to the princess. Seems like her ladyâs maid could use some... royal introductions.â
_____
After reuniting with a gushing Mary and Lily, a server approaches, bowing their head politely before handing you a fresh glass of wine. You thank them quietly, though you canât help but find their deference a little peculiar. Still, you accept the drink, shifting your attention back to the princess as she launches into a spirited account of your performance on the dance floor.
âYou looked absolutely stunning out there,â Lily exclaims, her cheeks slightly flushed from the excitement of the eveningâor perhaps the wine.
âSheâs right,â Mary agrees with a hum, a bright smile lighting her face. âEveryone was watching. You two were the talk of the room.â
Both women had taken their turns dancing with high-ranking gentlemen throughout the night. Suitors vying for the honor of even a single waltz. Yet, they seemed convinced that your dance was the highlight.
âHeâs quite a talented dancer for a knight,â Mary observes, taking a sip from her own glass.
You nod, a small smile tugging at your lips. âI figured heâd be good, considering how confident he seemed. But he led me effortlessly. I barely had to think about the steps.â
âWell,â Lily interjects with a soft laugh, her hand fluttering to her lips as though trying to stifle her amusement, âthatâs hardly surprising. Heâs a noble, after all.â
âWhat?â Both you and Mary turn to her in confusion, the notion catching you both off guard. Nobles rarely became knights, considering the station beneath them. Sirius hardly seemed the exception, yet here you were.
âHeâs the son of Duchess Black,â Lily explains with a slight grimace, lowering her voice. âHer sons are far more tolerable than she ever will be.â
âLily!â Mary scolds, her eyes darting around to ensure no one overheard the princessâs blunt critique. Fortunately, the surrounding hum of conversation seemed to swallow the comment whole.
âBut...â you trail off, your brows furrowing as you ask. âDid you not just dance with the heir to the duchy?â
âThat would be my younger brother,â a smooth, familiar voice cuts into the conversation, making you turn sharply.
Sirius stands behind you, his easy smirk firmly in place, though thereâs a glimmer of amusement in his gray eyes. Heat rushes to your cheeks, and you instinctively dip your head in greeting, murmuring, âSir Sirius.â
âSirius,â he corrects lightly, his gaze softening as it lingers on you.
âSirius,â you murmur, correcting yourself softly.
His smirk softens into something warmer. âYou danced with Regulus, Your Highness?â
âLily,â the princess corrects, her tone mirroring his own.
Sirius chuckles, his attention shifting to her. âOf course, Lily. So, you danced with Reg?â
âAs I always do, Sirius,â she replies with a sigh, clearly anticipating where the conversation might lead. Her expression brightens, however, as her gaze lands beyond him. âOh, James, Remus! A pleasure to see you.â
Both Mary and you instinctively bow your heads, mirroring Lilyâs graceful greeting as two men approach.
âLeave the formalities for the elders,â James teases, waving his hand dismissively. âRaise your heads, ladies.â
James Potter is every bit the image of royalty, dressed in a pristine white suit adorned with a red sash. The high collar adds to his regal air, but itâs his confident posture and easy smile âso warm and almost boyishâthat truly captivate.
Beside him stands a tall, broad shouldered man with tousled brown hair. The scars that trace his skin catch your eye briefly before you hastily return your attention to the prince, unwilling to appear rude. Yet, the manâs hazel gaze, calm and piercing, seems to notice everything.
âAre you all enjoying the ball?â James asks, his voice warm and smooth as his signature smile graces his lips.
Lily answers first, her response polite and poised as ever. Her agreement prompts Mary and you to nod along.
âGlad to hear it,â James replies, his smile widening. âI know Sirius was enjoying himself not too long ago,â he adds with a teasing lilt, his hand clapping Sirius on the shoulder and lingering there in a way that seems deliberate.
âIt was one dance,â Sirius groans, tilting his head toward the prince in exasperation.
âOne dance more than usual,â Remus chimes in, his deep, steady voice carrying a hint of humor. His hazel eyes flicker to Sirius, glinting with quiet amusement as he observes his discomfort.
James turns his gaze to you, his teasing grin softening into something gentler. âHe didnât step on your toes, did he, my lady?â he asks, the mock solemnity of his tone bringing a smile to your lips.
You shake your head, your amusement showing clearly. âOf course not.â
James bursts into laughter, the sound rich and full, drawing a few curious glances from those nearby.
âHaving women cover for your clumsy footwork nowâ what a shame,â Remus adds, his tone dripping with mock disappointment as he shakes his head.
Sirius turns to you, lips curling into an exaggerated pout. âNow look what youâve done. Youâve egged them on.â
You shrug, a playful smile tugging at your lips. âNow, why would I do that, Sirius?â
âYouâre killing me, doll,â he groans dramatically, prompting laughter to ripple through the small group.
The conversation shifts back to something closer to polite, though the teasing undercurrent remains. Mary moves subtly closer to you, her hand brushing comfortingly over your back. Itâs then you notice the weight of the many gazes lingering on your group, a pressure you hadnât fully realized until now.
Your eyes lower to the polished marble floor as you focus on listening to James and Lilyâs easy banter, their words melding with the hum of the ballroom.
âYou alright?â Remusâs voice pulls your attention. He steps closer, his question soft, laced with genuine concern.
You nod lightly. âIt seems all of a sudden Iâve run out of energy,â you say, a polite fib. The truth is, this entire night has been draining, though you donât want him to think heâs dull company. âIâm not used to parties like this,â you add quickly to clarify.
Remusâs lips curve into a smile, his expression warm and understanding. âWe have lounges on the top floor for guests who need a break. Youâd be welcome to rest there if youâd like.â
You shake your head gently. âI really shouldnât, but thank you for the suggestionââ
âThatâs a great idea,â Lily interjects with an encouraging smile. âLetâs rest our feet for a while.â
âIâll let Marlene know weâre heading upstairs,â Mary offers before slipping away, likely toward one of the food tables where Marlene is undoubtedly stationed.
âWeâll escort you,â Sirius says smoothly, but Lily raises a hand, declining the offer with a polite smile.
âWeâll be fine on our own, but thank you,â she assures him.
âOf course,â James replies, bowing his head slightly.
Mary returns soon after, accompanied by Marlene, who carries a golden plate piled high with delicate finger foods.
âEnjoy your rest,â James says with a gracious nod, his tone sincere though his smile holds a trace of teasing warmth.
The women dip their heads in thanks before retreating upstairs to find a quiet lounge.
_____
As soon as theyâre out of earshot, James turns to Sirius with a mischievous smirk. âWell, wasnât she a sweetheart?â he asks, his teasing tone unmistakable.
âSheâs polite but knows how to hold her own. Iâd say youâve chosen well, Sirius,â Remus adds with an approving nod.
âIf you two hadnât left meââ Sirius starts, a hint of irritation coloring his words.
âWe did say you could join us,â James cuts in, raising his hand as if to defend himself.
âAnd you know damn well if all three of us disappeared, people would notice,â Sirius counters, arching an eyebrow.
James shrugs, entirely unbothered. âYour loss.â
âNot entirely,â Sirius says with a wolfish grin. âIt just means we can take our time later.â
âNo visible marks,â Remus warns, his voice carrying the weight of experience. âWeâll have guests for a while.â
Sirius rolls his eyes, his grin unwavering. âItâll be fineâitâs never stopped us before.â
Remus sighs, his lips twitching upward despite himself. âFair enough.â

Current day Wolfstar(let me preface this by saying, you should take liberties when it comes to these character, JKR sucks, these are just my gripes with how the fandom currently perceives these two)
Aka Iâm annoyed so Iâm making it everyone elseâs problem. The âstupid feminine Sirius whoâs 5â4 and whoâs oh so much uglier than Remus, and heâs basically just a charity case!â STOP IT, stop it stop it, stop it. I have zero problem with feminine Sirius, go wild, my problem is with relating femininity to weakness and stupidity.
Also, I am so, SO sick of âbig alpha 6â5 hot Gryffindor Casanova Remus Lupinâ, not only does it not make sense, itâs annoying, and it reinforces gender roles. Remus Lupin spent his whole life being told he was basically a big scary monster, who canât be around other children, HOW do you think he would react to being perceived as this big angry asshole with no regard for the people around him?
ALSO, Remus Lupin was NOT drop dead gorgeous, Iâm sorry to say, he was not the hottest guy around(that is still my darling man and I will not tolerate anything against my darling man), he was a scrawny werewolf with scars, and premature lines and shabby clothing, if anything, he looked like an anemic average British man in the seventies, if not below average.
Sirius was literally âHogwartsâ pretty boyâ. Iâm not saying this to make Remus seem like a charity case, because, wolfstar is pointless when you make one the âmanâ or âwomanâ, or âhotâ and âuglyâ, iâm saying this because Casanova Remus Lupin annoys me, if ANYONE was âCasanova of Gryffindor Towerâ it was Sirius Black. (I also think people forget the negative connotation with the term âCasanovaâ, which is sometimes annoying to see when talking about Remus, or Sirius)
Also, I could talk about how canonically, Sirius was the tallest marauder, or how a huge part of his character was HOW hot he was, I could talk about how he was hotter than Regulus, i COULD talk about how Remus wasnât the smartest marauder, I could talk about how Sirius is canonically an overly clever wizard, I could talk about how if anyone is aggressive between the two, it was Sirius, but, I donât think I will, because that will seem like Iâm trying to push Sirius being the âaggressive manâ of the two, and Remus being the âugly womanâ of the two, and I donât believe that,
Wolfstar has now become just a way to reinforce gender roles on two characters, and thatâs gross, making Remus the smart aggressive âmanâ of the relationship, and Sirius the stupid small âwomanâ of the relationship, is just gross dude.
Wolfstar doesnât HAVE to fall into gender norms, thatâs not necessary, neither of them HAVE to be the âmanâ or âwomanâ, thatâs NOT necessary.
Remus being a funky looking guy, while Sirius is a hot nepo baby, is so beautiful, and it makes their relationship so much more interesting than âman aggressive and hotâ and âwoman ugly but pretty and patheticâ.
Anyways, let Remus be a skrunkly little man, and let Sirius be hot, also STOP ASSIGNING GENDER ROLES TO THEM OH MY GOOOOOD DHFBFJDJCJ
#donât take anything I said about Remus as slander because Remus is my darling man and I love him#Gryffindor Casanova Remus Lupin makes me viscerally upset#anti jkr#harry potter#marauders#marauders era#the most noble and ancient house of black#wolfstar#gender norms#james potter#peter pettigrew#sirius black#Remus Lupin#sirius x remus#remus x sirius#regulus black#because he was mentioned#moony#padfoot#moony x padfoot#marauders fandom makes me angry#take a shot every time I say also

june 28 - lawyer - @jegulus-microfic - word count: 201
The black brothers were a pain in the neck to play games with. Whether it was a simply story game, to one where you had to eliminate the others, they would emphasize everything.
âYouâll be hearing from my lawyer!â Regulus screamed, pointing a finger at Jamesâs chest with an overly dramatic expression.
James gasped loudly in response, clearly amused and joking. âLove, its just Candyland.â
âTo hell with the land of candy! Fuck this!â
Sirius stuck his tongue out at his younger brother, shaking his head. âYouâre just upset because youâre losing to me. Admit it, you are ass at this game.â
Regulus immediately wriggled out of Jamesâs grip, going to yank on a strand of Siriusâs hair, who grasped the Slytherinâs shirt and pulled on it. They rolled away from their two board game players, wrestling and arguing in French.
Remus rubbed the space between his eyes with his fingers, sighing tiredly. âJames, why did you do this to us? You know we canât play board games anymore.â
âItâs bloody Candyland. How can they hate this game when itâs all candy!â James tried, moving his hands accusingly to the board. âWhatever.. letâs finish the game then, Moony.â
âYouâre on, Prongs.â

Prompt 24 - Kid Fic
@wolfstarmicrofic July 24, word count 975
Part five of werewolf Sirius
CW - Mentions of child abuse (Not described)
Previous part First part
When theyâd gotten back to the camp, Greyback had disappeared but a lot of the wolves that had been friendly to him since he got there were now keeping their distance. It was definitely because of what Greyback had said the day before. And then the whole Regulus thing. Regulus's death had been reported in the papers. Sirius had mourned him, but now there was a chance that he was still alive. Sirius slept poorly that night. He dreamed of his brother.
âSirius, Sirius, where are you?â The worried voice of his little brother cried out in the dark.Â
âHey, hey. Shhhhh, Iâm here,â Sirius soothed Regulus, slipping into his bed and cradling him against his chest. Regulus had night terrors almost nightly. Sirius normally got to Regulusâs room quicker, but his mother had punished him that afternoon when he covered for Regulus when heâd dropped a glass at lunchtime. He was so sore that heâd just fallen asleep and was woken by Regulusâs screams. He had to get Regulus to stop quickly or else their mother would come and Sirius would have to listen to Regulusâs screams without being able to help him.Â
Regulus was shaking in his arms. Sirius began telling him fairy tales from a muggle book heâd read in the local library. His parents, of course, had no idea he'd even stepped foot in a muggle library, but there were only so many times he could read Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump before he went insane. Tonightâs story was about a mermaid who fell in love with a prince and traded her voice to a sea witch in exchange for legs. It did not have a happy ending, but that was muggles for you.
Regulus had fallen asleep by the end and an exhausted Sirius followed soon after. He slipped out when the birds first started chirping and went back to his own bed.Â
âWhat do you boys have planned today?â Orion asked over the top of his newspaper when they came down for breakfast, already dressed in smart clothing befitting the young heir and his brother of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black.
âI thought we could go out into the gardens and identify the uses of the magical plants in the greenhouses,â Sirius said as formally as he could. He didnât care about the plants, he wanted an excuse to be outside all day so he could teach Reggie how to fly.Â
âUh huh,â Orion raised his eyebrow. âNo more than five feet off the ground and do not let your mother catch you. Ensure you are back inside and presentable before lunch is served.â Sirius and Regulus wolfed their food down and hurried outside.Â
âAre we really going to fly?!â Regulus asked him excitedly. Sirius couldnât help the smile that spread across his face.Â
âWe are,â Regulus leapt into his arms and hugged him tightly. âYou have to listen to everything I say, Reggie, okay?â Regulus dropped his feet back to the floor and nodded his head so hard his curls flew everywhere. âGood. Follow me.âÂ
Sirius pulled out two brooms from the small broom shed behind the greenhouses. âOkay, so first thing you have to put your hand above the broom and very clearly and confidently say âUpâ, like this. Up,â He ordered the broom and it shot into his hand. Regulus took a deep breath and copied Siriusâs movements.Â
âUp,â He said quietly. The broom didnât move. He looked at Sirius, his eyes filling with tears.Â
âDonât worry, try again. Just be a bit more confident. You can do it, I believe in you,â Sirius ruffled Regulusâs curls.Â
âUp,â Regulus repeated, his voice a little stronger. âSirius, did you see, did you see? It moved!â The broom had rolled over.Â
âAmazing, try again,â Sirius encouraged. It took a few more attempts, but finally, the broom rose to Regulusâs waiting hand. Â
âWell done, Reggie. Alright, step number two. Kick off gently from the ground and weâll hover. Be careful not to kick off too hard, or youâll rise too high. Copy me,â Sirius barely pushed his feet from the ground and slowly rose until his toes were just brushing the grass.Â
Regulus had a death grip on his broom handle, but he copied Sirius exactly and rose to the same height. Being shorter than Sirius, his feet were a bit higher off the ground than his brothers.Â
âWow, that was excellent, Reggie, Iâm so proud of you. Right, youâre going to lean forward and follow me. Weâll start with a few circles.â Sirius showed him how to make the broom move, and soon they were racing around the garden having a wonderful time.Â
âBoys,â Orion called them in just before lunch. He shook his head when they ran over to him after landing and putting their brooms away. He raised his wand and both boys tensed, but Orion just used Scourgify on their sweaty faces, smoothed their wayward hair and straightened their rumpled clothes. âHurry up, your mother will be back shortly,â Orion warned, before returning to the house. Â
âI love you, Sirius,â Regulus threw his arms around Siriusâs middle.Â
âI love you too, Reggie,â Sirius chuckled, stroking his brotherâs head. He kept an arm wrapped around him as they went to join their parents for lunch, only letting go when they were outside the dining room.
Sirius woke crying as the dream still played behind his eyes. He and Regulus had been so close when they were young, it was only when heâd left for Hogwarts and made his first-ever friends and been sorted into Gryffindor that they had begun to drift apart, and it had only gotten worse over the years.
âDonât worry, sweetheart, weâll find him,â Remus whispered lovingly into his ear, pulling him closer and lulling him back to sleep.Â

double date
Behold, the dumbest thing I have ever written. I inflicted this on a handful of Discord pals a while back, but you know what? Everyone should be made to suffer from my terrible writing đ
-------
âPadfoot, calm down.â Remus lays a hand on Siriusâs, stopping him from further shredding his empty straw wrapper.Â
âI am calm.â
âMate, youâre literally vibrating.â James is sitting on Siriusâs other side, and he puts a hand on Siriusâs knee, stilling his bouncing leg. âItâs just Regulus.â
âJust Regulus?â Sirius hisses. âI havenât seen him since I was seventeen, James! This isnât just Regulus, this is huge!â
âI know,â Remus says soothingly. âBut you being a nervous wreck isnât going to make this any easier.â
Sirius sags a bit in his seat. âI want this to go well, Moony.âÂ
âIt will. This was his idea, after all. Thatâs promising, isnât it?â
âSâpose so.â Sirius straightens in his seat, brightening a little. âThink itâs a good sign that he wants to introduce me to his boyfriend, too.âÂ
âIt was sweet of him to suggest a double date,â Remus says, casting James a significant look. James shrugs, unapologetic.
âLike Iâm going to pass up a chance to see Baby Black and his boyfriend,â he says cheerfully. âWhat do you think? Think Reggieâs dating a Muggle?â
Siriusâs entire face lights up, and he cackles. âA Muggle! Oh, Prongs, thatâd be brilliant. Might put Mother in an early grave, too.âÂ
The door opens then, and Regulus steps into the pub. Sirius goes completely still, eyes wide, so Remus raises a helpful hand to flag him down. Regulus catches sight of them, and hesitates for a moment before making his way over to their table. Heâs followed by a tall man with long black hair and--
Snape.
Itâs Snape.Â
Regulus is dating Severus fucking Snape.
The waiter appears at their table at the same time Regulus and Snape do. Remus raises his hand.
âFive Firewhiskeys, please,â he says while James and Sirius openly gape at the newcomers. The waiter smiles politely.
âA round for the table, then?â
âOh, no, those are all for me.âÂ
The waiter departs, and Regulus pulls out the chair across from Sirius. Snapeâs eyes flick between James and Remus, and he eventually chooses the seat across from Remus. Remus gives him his biggest, most wolfish grin, and Snape quickly looks away.Â
âBrother,â Regulus says.Â
âReggie,â Sirius squeaks. âWhat the fuck--â
Remus digs his fingers into Siriusâs thigh. âWhat Sirius means is, itâs great to see you.âÂ
âYeah,â Sirius says, his voice only slightly strangled. âYeah, Reggie, itâs great to see you. ThanksâŚthanks for suggesting this. And for bringing your, um.âÂ
âFiance,â Regulus says.
âFiance?â Sirius and James burst out, looking horrified.Â
âThatâs great, Regulus,â Remus says through gritted teeth, kicking Sirius under the table. âIsnât it?â
James recovers first. âYeah, itâs--thatâs great. Love isâŚgreat.âÂ
Sirius draws a deep breath, visibly pulling himself together. âIâm really happy for you, Regulus. Shall we, um, decide what to order?â
The waiter returns with Remusâs Firewhiskeys, takes their food orders, and goes off again. Sirius clears his throat.
So, um, Severus,â he says, and the name sounds like it only pains him a little to say, âwhat is it you do?â
âIâm the Potions Master at Hogwarts,â Snape says. Remus cringes inwardly--those poor students--and knocks back his first shot.Â
âWhat about you, Regulus?â he asks.
âIâm--â
âRegulus doesnât work,â Snape cut in.Â
âDoesnât work?â Sirius repeats.
âHe doesnât need to.âÂ
âThatâs right,â Regulus says. âIâmâŚtaking care of the household.âÂ
âBut you wanted to be a potioneer,â James says, and he sounds pained.
Regulus stares at him. âYou remember that?â
ââCourse I remember it,â James says quietly. âThought youâd be brilliant at it. You wanted to open a shop in Diagon Alley and everything. What happened?â
âOh, er, nothing. Itâs justâŚnot really for me.â
âThat doesnât sound like you at all.â Â
The tension at the table increases tenfold. Remus takes a second shot.Â
âIf that makes you happy, Reggie, I support it,â Sirius says abruptly. âItâŚsounds great. Staying home andâŚlooking after SeverusâsâŚthings.âÂ
âIâm a trophy husband, too,â Remus says with a wink. âI have no complaints.âÂ
Regulus gives him a tight smile. âYes, Iâm sure IâllâŚget used to it.âÂ
âHeâll take care of the children, too,â Snape says, and Remus chokes on his third shot.Â
âWhen the time comes,â Regulus says hastily, patting Snapeâs arm.Â
âI think youâll be singing a different tune on our wedding night,â Snape purrs, and Remus grabs Siriusâs wrist before he can draw his wand.Â
âYes, when is the wedding?â he asks.
âThis summer,â Snape says. âThat leaves us with plenty of time to ensure that heâs with child by the time term begins.âÂ
âWhat, youâre going to knock him up and then leave him?â James asks.Â
âYes, we agreed that was best,â Regulus says.
âIf it makes you happy,â Sirius says again, though this time itâs through gritted teeth.
âIndeed. Thereâs no need for me to be around forâŚthe unpleasantness of pregnancy,â Snape says, waving a hand.Â
âRaising children is very, um, rewarding,â Remus says quickly, while Sirius makes a noise like a wounded animal. The roomâs getting a bit blurry, and he feels very light.Â
âRewarding, yeah,â Sirius says in a high-pitched voice. He clears his throat. âR-right, Jamie?â
âYep, yeah, greatest thing Iâve ever done. I love staying home with Haz,â James says. ââSpecially now that I only have him half the time.âÂ
Regulusâs eyes snap to James. âYou broke up with Evans?â
James blinks. âEr, yeah. Divorced about a year ago. Weâve been doing the whole co-parenting thing and itâs going really well, though.âÂ
Light pink dusts Regulusâs cheeks, and--oh.
Oh, that would make sense. That would make so much sense. How had he missed it?
Remus grabs his fourth shot and polishes it off. He then raises the fifth shot and says, âA toast!âÂ
âA toast?â Regulus, James, and Sirius echo.
âTo the happy couple.â Remus pushes Siriusâs glass at him, water sloshing over the sides. âCâmon, Pads. Toast your brother and his--and his happiness.âÂ
Sirius lifts his glass, looking like heâs swallowed something sour. âEr--right. To Regulus and Sn-Severus. May you, umâŚâÂ
âHave a very happy life together,â James jumps in when Sirius falters.Â
âRight, that. AndâŚlove one another forever?â
âAnd be fruitful and multiply,â Remus says cheerfully.
Now itâs Regulusâs turn to look like heâs tasted something bitter, but Snape practically leers.Â
âOh, we will,â he says, leaning in to kiss Regulus.
Bang!
Snape is thrown out of his chair and crashes into the wall behind him, cracking his head on the bricks before landing in a crumpled heap on the floor.Â
âJames!â Sirius exclaims in outrage.
âIt wasnât me!â James protests.
âIt was me,â Regulus says with a sniff. âHonestly. The nerve of him. I told him I wanted to wait until the wedding night.âÂ
Remus hands his last Firewhiskey shot to Regulus, who downs it without blinking.Â
âYouâre not in love with Snape,â he says, and Regulus pulls a face.
âOf course Iâm not.âÂ
âThen why did you tell me you were bringing your boyfriend to meet us!â Sirius demands.Â
âBecause itâs what people do, Sirius,â Regulus says.Â
âWhat people?â
âPeople who are meeting their estranged brother and his husband for the first time in years!â Regulus sighs. âI canât go on a double date with my brother if I donât have a date.âÂ
âWait, did you--did you pretend to date Snape and then get engaged to him just so you would have a reason to reach out to me?â
âWell, he didnât think it was pretend.â Regulus sniffs again. âIâm very convincing, you know.âÂ
âYou didnât--â
Regulusâs lip curls. âOf course not. I told him I was a virgin and waiting for our wedding night. I should probably be insulted by how easily he bought that. Potter, what are you doing over there?â
James blinks at him. âWhat?â
âThis is a double date, isnât it?â Regulus gestures at the now-empty chair next to him. âI need a date.âÂ
âOh!â James scrambles over to the other side of the table. âRight, of course. Hello.âÂ
âHello.â
âYou look amazing, you know.â
Regulus blushes. âYes, youâve been staring at me since I sat down. Awfully rude of you, with my fiance right there.â
James looks pained. âHeâs not your fiance anymore, is he?â
âMerlin, no.â
âWhat,â Sirius whispers to Remus, âis happening right now?â
Remus pats his shoulder. âI think the wedding is still on.â
âDifferent groom, though, right?â
âOh, yeah, definitely.â

hi! Im not quite sure if your requests are open at the moment, but I was wondering if you could possibly write a Poly! Marauders x reader? Maybe where the reader talks a lot and is ignored by parents and friends of is yelled at often for small nervous habits they do unconsciously? You don't have to ofc!
Love ur work!!
hi guys! i've been inactive for a while, trying to focus on schoolwork and things, but now i have some time so i thought i would write something! i'm sorry if i didn't respond to any requests, ill try to get those done asap. thanks so much! love u guys<3
to anon: ofc! hope i did this one right:) i kind of did it more hurt/comfort cause you guys know i love my comfort trope<3 also if you didn't want it like this, don't hesitate to send me another req if this was too over the top with the hurt, or you didn't like the tropes:)
warnings: implied and referenced abuse, mention of sirius's past trauma & abuse, feeling not good enough, insecurity, shy!reader, introverted!reader, bruises, hurt/comfort, crying
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"(y/n!)" you snapped out of your daydream, blinking your eyes lazily as your focus adjusted to your surroundings. "ignoring us is not okay, (y/n). you need to tell us why you are behind in your classes. you're not doing good enough. we need you to stop getting distracted and focus on your work." your dad scolded you.
"argus, don't you think you're being a bit too rough on her?" your mother said quietly. "i'm sure she's doing her-"
"eleanor, don't interrupt me," your dad said quietly. that shut your mother up, and she said nothing else. you felt for her in that moment, being trapped in a relationship where she couldn't say anything, couldn't voice her own opinions because they would get shut down every single time.
it scared you to think of ever being in a marriage like theirs. because of your parents, you had trust issues, and you didn't think you could let anyone into your heart because of how your parents ended up.
they were high school sweethearts, fell in love at the young age of 16. as a kid, you would look through old boxes in cupboards, filled with old pictures of your mother and father at your age. it was crazy to think that they too fell in love, just like you.
but how their love ended up petrified you. how they thought their love would never end but it did, when you were born. you'd never seen your parents happy, let alone happy together.
playing with your fingers to try and distract yourself from the conversation you were having, you thought of your own relationship with your boyfriends. it was the complete opposite of your parents. they were comforting, respectful, caring and they always loved you no matter what.
your thoughts were interrupted by your father's voice. "for god's sake, stop fidgeting like that!" he yelled, and grabbed your wrists tightly, making you flinch. you could already feel the bruises forming.
"i'm sorry. i'll work harder," you murmured, eyes focused on the floor. you couldn't meet their eyes. you knew you were a disappointment to them. it just hurt too much to even look at them.
THE NEXT DAY
hogwarts was made for gifted witches and wizards. although you were relatively smart, you had to work really hard to get good grades, as opposed to some of your friends who barely studied and still managed to get exceptional grades. it infuriated you.
you had managed to convince two of your friends to help you study, as they were really good at astronomy.
at the library, you were excitedly telling your friends about a new book you were reading. you continued, a huge smile on your face, saying, "and so then, the she finally gets together with him, and it's just so dreamy and i-"
"oh my god, (y/n)! are you done?" your friend snapped at you. she looked extremely annoyed at you, and once you glanced at the clock you saw that you'd only been speaking for a few minutes. you didn't get why she had to be so annoyed with you. you didn't do anything wrong, did you?
your smile dissolved, and you quietly said, "yeah."
your friend then proceeded to tell you guys about her new relationship with cedric, who you didn't care about in the least. "i'm just gonna go up to the dormitories," you said quietly, excusing yourself. your friends didn't even notice your departure.
what kind of friends were they? they hurt your feelings, always making you feel worthless, just like your parents. your boyfriends had told you they were both wastes of time but you had ignored them.
'where are they, anyways?' you thought to yourself as you looked around for your boyfriends. you needed them right now. tears pooled behind your lash line as you thought about what had happened.
you felt almost guilty for wanting to see your boyfriends. you didn't want them to pity you, and so you went up to your dormitory, which was completely empty at this early hour. falling face flat onto your bed, you finally let your tears fall.
a few minutes later, you heard a knock at the door, then a soft, "baby? are you in there?" it sounded like james, and you sobbed quietly at his voice, at the comfort it brought you even without seeing him.
"c'mon, let us in," remus said through the door.
"please?" sirius chimed in. "if you don't, we'll feed you to the rats."
"pads!" james whisper-screamed. "why would you say that?"
you smiled. they could easily cheer you up, even just their voices.
you grabbed your wand off the bedside and undid the lock on the door. your boyfriends came bursting in, not expecting the sudden movement, and they caught sight of you on your bed.
"oh, sweetheart," rem said softly.
making his way over to you, he pulled you into his lap and your legs encircled his waist. you let your head fall into his chest and his hand came up to smooth your hair. "shhh," he cooed into your ear. "it's okay."
jamie was already on the other side of you, thumb stroking your palm, already warming you up. you winced slightly as his thumb pressed on your bruise from yesterday.
siri sat on the bed opposite you, and his eyes darkened protectively when he saw the bruises lining your wrists. "pup, what's this?"
for a second you were confused, then you realised what he was talking about. your eyes grew wide as you said, "it's nothing, siri, I promise." you knew about his past, you didn't want to bring it up and have him do something he would regret.
"no, sweetheart," sirius put a finger under your chin, tilting your head so your eyes could meet his. "who did this to you?"
your eyes filled with tears and the anger on his face softened, but he was still inquisitive. "dad," you mumbled under your breath. "but it wasn't his fault, i was being a brat, and-" your tears came back full force, and you whispered, "and i'm not good enough for them." you laughed wetly, then continued. "my friends ignore me. they probably think I'm stupid and useless. i don't deserve to be here. it's all my fault for being friends with them. it's my fault for not working hard enough for my parents."
the boys exchanged a look over your head. their princess, believing she wasn't good enough? well, they couldn't have that.
sirius lifted his hand from your chin to cup your cheek. you leaned against the warmth radiating from his palm, tears still silently flowing down your face. "it's not your fault," he murmured. "it's never your fault. please remember that, baby."
"you deserve everything and more," james said softly.
remus hugged you tightly against his chest. "don't let anyone ever tell you different, princess."
you cried into remus's sweater, letting out everything you'd felt the past few days. they let you cry, knowing it'd be useless to try and get you to stop. you needed a good cry.
"i'm so-"
"don't you dare apologise." sirius's eyes grew serious. "otherwise we're truly feeding you to the rats."
you giggled, hand coming up to wipe your tears but james did it for you himself. they really treated you like their princess.
"i love you guys," you mumbled, sniffling quietly.
their faces softened. "love you too, bug."

Thinking about James/Remus and seriously questioning why it's not a thing cause
1) the whole sun/moon lore I was talking about earlier
2) their shipname would be somn like "moonchaser" or "sunreader" or somn
3) it fits right into the running gag that James has a thing for people being mean to him
4) imagine all the possible angst mhmm mhmm Remus pining over James, finding out he likes his best friend, finding out she likes him back, losing him again and again ooooohhhhh just
5) but they're also perfect cause all Remus ever needs is to be loved and all James knows is to love someone else
6) ok but leave the angst, focus on the fluff. The possibilities omg friends to lovers just this time (minus all the usual angst that comes in wolfstar) and they're both just dumb oblivious idiots in love and it's so cute
7) thinking about all of this now I think what you said is right, people don't ship Remus with anyone other than Sirius but I think that's cause Sirius actually doesn't have many ships left then? Cause think about it like this: Sunreader, Bartylus, Marylily, Evan and Emmeline, Panda and Xeno, where does that leave Sirius? Sure Pete is there but...
8) ooooh ok going down this pipeline, for your consideration: Peter and Sirius. Omg it would make the "Sirius put in trial instead of Peter" thing sooooo much more ansgty ohhoo my brain is reeling rn
9) ok focusing back on moonchaser. They would make such a cute couple honestly. James would read all the books Remus reads and leaves lil doodles for him to find later. He would go to all the quidditch practices he can to support his bf. And he would right poetry and stuff about how hot James is.
10) ohhh They would share glasses omggg poor Remus grows up thinking everyone has shit vision then one day he wears James's as a joke and voila the world in HD
I'm so ngl, your influence on my brain has become on the best influences it has ever had cause omg all this potential all this angst and fluff I love this new me mhmm mhmm
hsirbdij omggggg I love this sm!!! thank you for sharing your brain with me.
sunreader sounds so gorgeous. I'm going insane. I love love LOVE the name!
1) yeah are literally the sun and the moon! they are perfect!
3) lmao. so true. I love the idea of remus being super sarcastic towards james and james swoons at every mean comment and tries very hard not to (he fails miserably)
4) urghhhhh not the unrequited feelings while having to be a supportive bestie trope (my beloved). I can imagine how mad it drives remus to watch them like each other, but being to scared to admit it. imagine the heartbreak when remus sees harry alias the combination of his parents
5) yesss. remus needs someone to love him even through all of his flaws, someone who isn't his parents and james who is literally the embodiment of love
6) "everyone can see it, but them" trope fr. it's them idfk
7) you make a fair point, but there are sooooooo many characters living in the marauders characters that no one ever uses. you could ship sirius with so many characters that no one ever talks abt (I'm currently working on a post with all the characters that I could find so that they're all in one place)
8) peter and sirius my loves <3 no one talks about them (me included whoops-). they have such a big angst potential that people just seem to be ignoring (once again bc most people refuse to leave the wolfstar bubble and just refuse to ship peter with anyone in general)
9) they would be the definition of tooth rotting fluff. they would make everyone sick with how sweet they are. couple goals fr
10) remus is me fr. the day I got my glasses was eye-opening lmao
glad to see that I have this kind of effect on people. I said it to you before but I'll say it again: welcome to the way more funnier side of being a multishipper hehehehe
also: I think I'm in love with you. marry pls, I'm begging đđťđđťđđť (/j... unless)

you kiss me, and everything just stops.
summary: a bad day, that turns into a bad week - but that's okay because you have James and that's all you need. (modern au)
pairing: james x (gender neutral) reader
cw: none
word count: 958
Now that you think about it, you definitely should have checked the weather app - you are soaked to the bone, hair plastered onto your neck and forehead, tiny shivers running through your body at any stronger gust of wind that blows, making the already miserable situation even more miserable.Â
In your defense, you were stressed out - a bad day turned into a bad week and you have reached your limit at a dinner party hosted by your company; and since that wasnât a right place for you to snap, you decided to rush out and head for the one place where you know you can be yourself without being judged. The problem is, itâs the middle of November, the rainy season started long ago, and you have forgotten your umbrella at the event.Â
A car speeds by you and you have around three seconds before it goes through the puddle and splashes you to your waist, the coat now dripping and your sanity almost snapping. Thankfully, as you turn around the corner you finally see the familiar building, and you all but run towards it. If you slip a few times and almost fall on your ass, you ignore it because the salvation is right there and youâre knocking frantically, hopping from one leg to the other in hopes of warming yourself up.
Only when the door opens and you are greeted with a mop of messy hair and panicking eyes, you realize that maybe, you should have knocked less panicky, because James looks like heâs half ready to fight.
âY/N?â
His voice is heavy with sleep, hair sticking in every direction; his glasses fog up when he opens the door and the cold air hits them, and god youâre already smiling because no matter how miserable you are, the sight of sleepy James Potter can make all your worries melt away. He tries to clean them with his shirt, the soft skin beneath it making an appearance as he lifts the hem of the shirt and rubs the lenses, his eyes finally finding yours once heâs no longer blind.
Itâs adorable to watch the flash of emotions that goes on in his eyes - from happiness, to confusion, and then finally setting on panic.
âChrist, Y/N.â Fingers wrap around your wrist and you are being pulled inside, the now wet parquet floor beneath your boot slippery enough for you to stumble again, this time sure youâre about to kiss the floor.Â
The chest you land on is firm and warm, and definitely not what you have expected - on instinct, since your fingers are basically frozen and you canât feel your cheeks, you lean into the warmth and nuzzle into the soft material, and comforting smell.Â
âMhm. Youâre warm.â
âAnd youâre like an ice cube! What happened?âÂ
Youâre being enveloped in a gentle hug, the one only James knows how to give. Hugging James always feels like pure sunshine - his hugs could melt the very ache in your bones, stop your mind from spiraling into the dark void and make the world seem a little bit better when you really have nothing to hold on to. He is never stingy with his hugs either - he loves giving them, loves resting his chin on the crown of your head, letting one arm rest on the lower part of your back while the other one roams over to your neck, your shoulders, caressing any patch of skin it can find.Â
âNothing happened, I just missed you.âÂ
âYou saw me this morning.â
âAnd I started missing you the second we parted ways.â
Laughter rumbles out of his chest, and itâs so beautiful that you legit whine when his hands start pulling you back, away from his chest enough for him to look you in the eyes. You notice that his shirt is now completely wet, and the puddle forming where youâre standing is turning into a small lake - and youâre uncomfortable with the clothes sticking to you, youâre still cold despite being inside, and none of it matters at the moment. Not when he leans forward and his lips are on yours for a few seconds, a smile breaking on them as he proceeds to pepper your cheeks and forehead with tiny little pecks.
âYouâre a dork.â
âAnd you love it.â
âOnly God knows why, but I really do.â
In the morning, you two may end up talking - because James will not believe you when you say that everything is fine, and eventually you will break and the events of the past week will be spoken into the air between you two. He will hold your hand, and when you feel like there is no strength left in you, heâll kiss you gently and make you breakfast, and keep you hostage for the next 24 hours. Maybe heâll invite Sirius and Remus over, and they will bring Lily and Mary with them, with a bunch of shitty movies and even shittier food for your health (and Remus will let it slide this time, because he knows you need it).Â
But all that, itâs for tomorrow - right now, he leads you to the bathroom and with careful fingers helps you undress, lending you his clothes and removing your rings and necklace with a look of pure concentration on his face (and his tongue sticking out, which you find adorable and then decide to kiss the air out of his lungs). And when you snuggle next to him, your eyes already heavy from the hot shower, you will fall asleep faster than you did any night in the past week - and some of that exhaustion will finally melt away.Â
Sirius was right, when he had compared James to the summer sun.Â

The sun and the moon
The moon loves the sun like fear loves the shadows. They love it like a devil who never lets go.
The sun loves the moon like the rain loves the summer. They love like an angel who canât let go.
The problem with their love is that itâs dead as the sun. Everyone shouldâve known that the moon would live longer than the sun. The sun shined too bright; they shouldâve known the sun would burn out. So the stars were the only ones left.
please everyone comment: booo addie youâre flopping you suck what is this ??

june 8 - ration - @jegulus-microfic - word count: 114
âTHATâS NOT HOW YOU PLAY!â Regulus yelled, pointing a finger accusingly toward Sirius, who dramatically gasped in response.
Peter whimpered, scampering back to his dorm shaking his head. Remus sighed, holding his boyfriend back while reading the rules. James comfortingly patted his boyfriend on the back, âLove, letâs just leave it-â
Regulus turned toward James, livid. âBut heâs doing it wrong!â
Remus cleared his throat, âSirius is right, Regulus. You lose twenty percent of your ration here.â
Sirius stuck his tongue out, making his fingers form the letter L. âLoser.â
âShut up you twat. Youâre gonna lose this game.â
James shared a look with Remus. Why must the black brothers always be so dramatic?
