Afraid -

Sirius had a small fear. Well actually, he had lots of fears over time. When he was 7 he was afraid of spiders. They had way too many legs and his nanny had told him about this huge spider that might have killed a girl at school. He kept this fear for a year until Regulus found one under the sink and begged Sirius to just take it outside. When he was 10 his mother and father sat down and repeated every page of the fantastic beasts over and over. At 10 years old Sirius was afraid of werewolves, unicorns, centaurs, even pixies. When Remus Lupin cried in Sirius' arms about being a monster, Sirius decided werewolves weren't that scary.

"Pads?" Remus was looking at Sirius with a small smile. Sirius looked away from the bookshelf he was building to see Remus crouch down with a cup of hot cocoa. "There's this girl at the high school. Her name is Nymphadora and she's got herself into some trouble that I think we can help."

Sirius chuckled, "What sort of name is Nymphadora?"

"The same sort as Sirius Lupin?"

"Ouch point taken." Sirius pointed towards a screw driver sitting by Remus's foot. "So this girl?"

"She's pregnant." Remus paused looking towards Sirius. "She doesn't want the boy to end up in foster care, but she's too young to take care of him."

"That's awful, her parents won't help her?"

"She doesn't have any Padfoot. They were murdered when she was a kid." Remus inhaled and bit the inside of his cheek. "How do you feel about being a dad?" He breathed out.

Sirius dropped the screwdriver, the screw still sticking out of the wood of the shelf. "What?"

"We could.... adopt the boy? Dora can come round see her kiddo, he'd be loved Pads."

"I just- I don't think- I can't Moony. I can't. I can't. I can't. I have to- I'll be back." Sirius was trying to catch his breath, to explain to Remus that he wasn't leaving for good.

"Sirius? Love, are you okay. It's okay we can wait. We can talk it out?" Remus reached towards Sirius who was standing up and heading towards the door.

"Yes- Talk. Just not now. I'll be back-I'll be back. " Sirius ran out the door leaving Remus sat near an unfinished bookshelf tugging at his curls.

Sirius was still afraid of many things. He was afraid of cows, afraid of tight closed spaces, afraid of dragonflies. Fears come and go for Sirius all the time but being a father? Sirius has done that before. His kid ended up hating him, fell in line into a cult despite his many attempts to stop and was now missing.

Sirius approached a small brass cross. It was embellished with snakes and planted into the tree him and Regulus used to hide at.

"Hello Reg. I know i've not been here, well neither are you." Sirius laughed to himself. "Remus he asked me a question today. Asked if I wanted to be a dad. I ran. It's what I'm good at, you'd tell me that." Sirius wiped a tear from his cheek.

"Being a dad though? Not so good at that. I know logically that i was a kid too but i couldn't protect you, how am i supposed to protect him?" Sirius continued to chat to Regulus through all his fears. It had begun to get dark and Sirius had fallen asleep against the trunk of the tree.

"Sirius?" Remus had shaken Sirius and he had begun to blink awake. Remus spent 3 hours trying to figure out where Sirius could have gone; he checked the park Padfoot liked to run in, the coffee shop Sirius ran too after he ran away and lastly, the small grave Sirius had planted for his little brother.

"Moony?" Remus sat down next to Sirius and leaned into his side.

"Good morning Pads. I think it's time we had that talk huh?"

"I'm sorry for running Remus." Sirius tilted his head on top of Remus'. "Having a kid outside of Reggie. I mean I know he's not my kid-"

"Sirius listen to me. Regulus will always be your kid. You raised him, you gave him food, you showed him laughter. You protected him from really evil people. This- His death? It isn't on you. You tried Sirius, you went back 3 times. Walburga cursed you every single time." Sirius shook his head.

"We haven't even found him! He's missing and he's dead. I can't do that to another kid." Sirius cried into Remus. "I'm scared I will miss that boy up too."

"You didn't mess up Regulus. Did you hit him?" Sirius shook his head. "Did you tell him you would only love him if he joined the Death Eaters?"

"I would never."

"Did you starve him when he cried?" Sirius shook his head again. "Okay good, so what did you do to him exactly Sirius?"

"I left him there. I knew what they would do."

"What would they have done if you stayed?" Remus let the answer wash over him. The potential death of Sirius Black sitting in the area around them.

"Can we name him?" Sirius asks eventually. "Regulus liked the name Edward, he always named the teddy bears I got him Edward." Remus laughed dipping his head down.

"He names his teddys... Teddy?"

"No Edward I just said!"

"Pads love, Edward is the long form of Teddy."

"Godric, Regulus was 70 years old?!" Sirius joined Remus in his laughter. For the first time since Regulus went missing, Sirius laughed in his memory.

They had two beautiful children (two Metamorphmagus). *ik I should add 'Spot Lupin, Lassie Lupin, Pluto Lupin & Scooby-doo Lupin' but I doubt Mcgonagall would love to taking care of so many mini Marauders/Metamorphmagus running around Hogwarts everyday* 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Harry gave Teddy the perfect gift for his seventeenth birthday.

It was a big party, it hadn't always been like that, but now that Teddy was older he had much more friends than when he was a kid.

Harry was not a fan of big parties, and so he was a little retreated leaning on the wall of the opposite side of the big living room while Teddy was opening gifts.

When everyone was applauding at the last gift, Teddy found Harry's eyes in the crowd, Harry smiled at him briefly before heading out the door.

Teddy followed him, he knew what that meant, he had noticed that his father's gift wasn't among the ones he opened.

Harry was smoking.

"You know mom's gonna go right for your throat if she sees you"

"Let her" his father said with a chuckle "here" he handed Teddy what he first thought was just a crumbled up piece of paper.

Brown paper crumbled up and tied with sisal fiber, not even a card. He laughed a little.

"Y'know you're the richest man in the world, I think you could've gone a little bigger"

"Just say thank you, you little shit" he joked pushing Teddy from the back of his head, making him laugh.

"Thank you" he was thankful, even if he didn't know what the hell the crumbled piece of paper could be.

"You better be, it costed me a fortune"

"This thing?" he mocked.

"Yeah" his father's words turned into a laugh, then a cough "not the money kind"

Teddy inhaled as he understood what he meant. His father had probably retrieved it from one of his crazy missions as an auror. He probably risked his life for it, whatever he held in his hands, it was probably paid with blood. Suddenly, he felt the need to stop touching it.

With shaky hands, he broke the cheap paper. He recognized immediately what was inside. He didn't even have to look at the label around the glass little bottle, he already knew what it read.

He felt his eyes get teary.

"I..." he has to clear his voice "don't you want to use it yourself?"

Harry shook his head as he threw the cigarette end on the sidewalk. "what for? I'm sure you'll benefit more from it than me"

He opened his mouth to say "thank you" but instead, he locked his arms around a very surprised Harry Potter, who took only a second before hugging back.

The next day they drove to the cementery, Harry stayed in the car.

"You're not coming?"

His father shook his head "all yours"

He walked slowly. How else would you walk in a cementery? the place inspired respect. When you breathed, you smelled tears but when you let all the air out, you could feel an aftertaste of peace.

Finally he got to the graves he was looking for. He opened the bottle and threw the magic ale slowly on both of them. Finally, he closed his eyes and waited.

"Hello son"

He opened his eyes, breathing shakily. They both looked young and beautiful. His mother's hair was pink, his father's scars shined like silver.

"It's so nice to meet you, honey"

Train Vines: A Harry Potter and Hunger Games Crossover

They didn't let us say goodbye; they just threw us onto the train. I could hear my younger sister Cleo yelling to let me go. 

I and the boy, Jonah Lewis, were immediately forced into a dining-looking room with tables and chairs.

Jonah and I were looking around the room when he said, "The Potter family is powerful; I think both would have won."

"Teddy Lupin stood up for his younger brother, and I stood up for my best friend," I said, looking out the window to see an empty train station.

"Edward isn't related to the Potters," Jonah said, giving me a death glare.

"Yet he was raised by one," I responded, turning around to look at him.

"Enough, you two," Teddy said as he walked into the room, giving me a soft look knowing why I volunteered.

"What's it like? In the arena," Jonah said immediately asking.

"Deadly," Teddy said rolling his eyes.

"What do you think the arena will be like?" Jonah asked.

"I know you want to cut straight to the chase but there are things we are required to go over right now," Teddy said looking the boy straigt in the eyes.

"Like what?" the boy asked pushing farther.

"Like who were going against," I said giving Jonah a glare.

"Correct," Teddy said.

"In district one there are Sarah Puter and John Jackson, in district two we have Leona Lion and Joe Clark," Teddy said while showing us pictures of the pairs.

"In district twelve there are Hannah Pointer and Merlio Mallark," Teddy said.

"Mallark?" I asked 

"Related to Katniss Everdeen somehow," Teddy said looking at me.

Once I nodded he went through the rest of the districts, then he said we can talk strategy.

"Allies or no allies?" Jonah asked.

"Depends on the type of fighter you are, it would be good in the begining but late on it wouldnt do much," Teddy said.

Jonah nodded then I asked, "What are our chances of winning?"

"I'm not sure exactly, but its not high," Teddy said looking me in the eyes telling me he was being truthfully.

I nodded my head knowing that once the games started I would most likely never see my family or my love again.

When it was my turn for the skill testing I went straight for the daggers. 

I hit every single target on the bullseye every single time in what I knew was my record time.

About twenty years ago they changed it to where you don't find out your score until during your interview but I knew one thing, it was harder then ever to get a higher score.

They just showed the score of the districts 24 female and I realized no one had scored higher then and a five. That made me start to worry.

Stella Flickerman was a desendant of Ceaser Filckerman and was just like him, annoying and an idiot.

When Jonah went he started sobbing when he saw that he had gotten the lowest score out of everyone a one.

Serves him right I thought to my self as I straightened out my purple dress.

Then she called out my name.

She made me tweral and answer questions then came for the time for my results.

"Well I already know everyone's scores and let me tell you, you Ms. Weasley have the highest score tonight!" Stella said while clapping.

"Really?!" I said while smiling.

Stella responded with, "Yes! You have scored the highest by far with a Nine!"
