the thing that really touched me about conclave is that dean lawrence is told "the trick is not to offend anyone," and he cannot follow that advice and be a moral man. and he chooses honesty over inoffensiveness, which has become a dogwhistle for racists but is in this movie a genuine act of bravery with real consequences. the scene where tremblay says "i will pretend this conversation never happened" and lawrence explodes "but it DID happen" and tremblay doesn't acknowledge this, already walking away, but lawrence is right -- that got to me.

^^^^ this wasn't aaron warning neil off of andrew!! this was a test!!
it was a test in the exact same way andrew threatening katelyn at the library was a test, the same way andrew drugging neil at eden's was a test– this is aaron assessing neil as a threat to andrew and to him. if he'd wanted andreil to be over, he would've fucking said it– he would've outright told neil to stay away from his brother. but he doesn't. he asks why. admittedly, he doesn't do it in the best of ways, but that's the point. he purposefully gets neil angry to see if he'll slip up and give something away. that's why he brings up drake and that's why it had to be aaron. aaron doesn't give a fuck what neil thinks of him, he's well aware that neil doesn't like him and he doesn't care. but he's able to get to him through andrew, essentially, and if anything, aaron's right. neil is exactly as much of a violation of their deal as katelyn is– aaron is approaching the situation the exact same way andrew did. andrew understands that, so if he did know that aaron talked to neil (and i think he probably would've figured it out if neil doesnt tell him), he wouldn't be able to hold it against him the same way aaron can't hold andrew's threats to katelyn against his brother.
nicky is the one that thinks it's hate sex, aaron thinks its something else. neil passes aaron's test the second he punches him, really. the fact that he leaves after neil admits he doesn't think andrew would fight for him is clear evidence– aaron didn't approach that conversation expecting neil to admit he was just using andrew (and if he had, aaron probably would've punched him)– he went into it knowing that it had to happen in order for the deal to be ended. neil tells aaron to figure out what you have to do to make him let you go, and that's exactly what aaron does. he figures out that neil is how he breaks the deal and he takes that to andrew as an ultimatum– either they keep the deal and break things off with both of their partners, or the deal is over; andrew keeps neil, aaron keeps katelyn.
aaron minyard is a LOT smarter than he lets on– the reason we don't see all of this play out is because neil doesn't realise that he's technically part of that deal.

Why do I keep seeing transmascs and trans men insisting or implying that all trans men are "female socialized," or "understand the female experience," or "navigated the world as a woman." Because yeah, sure, that can be true for some people. especially if you weren't gnc at all as a kid and didn't crack your egg until well into adulthood, it makes sense.
But they don't stop at saying they had that experience. It always comes with an addendum that trans men, as a group, all can relate to this experience. I don't know about the entirety of my demographic, but I never got even a little bit of what some of them talk about. I didn't even believe that women were scared of going out at night until I kept consistently seeing them say it, online or wherever, for years. I never realized catcalling was a thing until I saw some women complaining about it on reddit.
But they posit it as some sort of, you're safer than cis men, right? You know what it's like? Which, on top of being patently, demonstrably false in the case of myself and many other trans men, holds some unpleasant and often outright hostile implications about trans women. And they always deny it, but if you can't even conceptualize someone like me who grew up gnc, and never got the bulk (or any?) of whatever we consider to be 'female socialization,' what does that say about what you think trans girls went through, growing up? I don't want to speak for them, as I've never experienced that firsthand, but I can guarantee that (if you're even a little bit obviously trans) people don't treat you like a cis kid of the opposite gender. By and large, they don't get treated like cis boys.
It just makes me mad that we're taking this inaccurate framework that (ever so conveniently) puts trans people into the box of our assumed birth gender, and trying to fancy it up and use it with a faux-progressive veneer; never mind the way that transphobes use it to bar trans women from being athletes, or using the bathroom, or having access to any gendered resources they need. It would be bad enough to try and dust it off and use it even if it were largely accurate, due to the aforementioned connections to outright transphobia, but it literally is patently false. Not in all cases, obviously, but why are we trying to revamp this untrue, inaccurate generalization and pretend that we can make it 'trans-inclusive?'

he did. my husband tried. he tried to warn them. he did. he said to them, “i’m not as into this as my wife is. i just like looking at cars, but she’s got all the facts and specs and everything. she’s practically a walking encyclopedia.”
and they didn’t believe him. they laughed. they shrugged it off. they shrugged me off. they were warned. and yet they still decided to try and put me to the test. they were warned. they were warned of what would happen to them. and yet they didn’t listen.
their ambition made them icarian. their folly turned my warmth from brilliant to sweltering.
their hubris led to their humiliation.
they were warned. but ambition makes men bold.
this is all just a very dramatic way of saying that grown men decided to play a game of, “oh you’re a fan? prove it” only to have their asses handed to them by their opponent.
this was the opponent btw:

I don’t think the upperclassmen see Neil as sad and traumatized as much as they see him as a feral but deadly cat or chihuahua that they fed a couple times and is now theirs forever.

First ship I draw is Parkthur but I shine the Indonesian beam to them both!
Parker is wearing a Beskap with songket Palembang and Arthur is wearing Javanese style Beskap with batik parang as his cloth (both the cloth patterns are hand drawn while I was half asleep, I'm sorry if it's goofy aah)
As for my designs for Parker and Arthur, I beamed Parker with the mixed Chinese-Indo-Palembang gun and Arthur with the mixed Javanese-English gun. Making the Bois Indo somehow lol.

F/o that understands when you are overstimulated. F/o that won't get annoyed with you when things are too loud and you become a little "off" because of it. F/o that wants you to be as comfortable as possible, and doesn't mind stepping away from situations with you or giving you time to recuperate when needed. F/o that gets it ✋️😔

I cant shut up about president fiddleford ok imagine being dipper and mabel starting high school. And its ok it kinda sucks like you expected but hey at least its not worse than the time the world almost ended and you almost died and you thought grunkle stan was gone forever but it turned out ok in the end and anything is better than middle school.
and now your other grunkles are quite literally on the news because one of them decided to run for president and also is winning and you’re very happy for him and very excited about it in general but its 2015 and gay marriage has only been legal for a VERY short time and now people are starting to connect the dots between Dipper and Mabel Pines’ “Grunkle Ford and Fidds”, and presidential candidate Fiddleford Hadron McGucket and his husband Stanford Pines. My poor babies

This is gonna sound weird but a lot of my gender dysphoria was cured when I realized I was a butch. Not a cis woman or a trans guy but a masculine lesbian. I felt so much more fully in my body.

every time queer discourse surges on this site everyone is so quick to jump to “it was actually the evil lesbians who divided us” because y’all heard the term “political lesbian” and never bothered to figure out what that meant

There are some ships that you just know would be 100% canon if they were an M/F ship, and that's mainly what pisses people off the most in these situations.
It isn't just about the ship; it's also very much about the homophobia (whether the creators know it or not) that is preventing the ship from being canon when they otherwise would be.
(Addition.)
