There are some ships that you just know would be 100% canon if they were an M/F ship, and that's mainly what pisses people off the most in these situations.
It isn't just about the ship; it's also very much about the homophobia (whether the creators know it or not) that is preventing the ship from being canon when they otherwise would be.

It makes me so mad when people say that men and women can’t be friends. I have a few girl friends who have hooked up with every guy they’ve been friends with and say they can’t be friends with men. And then there are so many guys who have no interest in women unless they’re a sexual or romantic partner. Idk if it’s an ace thing but I have close friends of all genders (and I’m romantically attracted to any gender / asexual) who I have had zero interest in romantically or sexually ever, is that not normal????

The phrase “Man’s Man” is the gayest phrase I’ve ever heard.
Like, the harder someone tries to adhere to gender roles to assume heterosexuality the more homosexual they sound.

flag id: a flag with 3 stripes, which are indigo, brown-black, and teal. end id.
banner id: a 1600x200 teal banner with the words ‘please read my dni before interacting. those on my / dni may still use my terms, so do not recoin them.’ in large white text in the center. the text takes up two lines, split at the slash. end id.

[pt: conticae: a gender characterized by heteronomy and inner conviction of a sense of gender. this gender is defined, influenced, or categorized by something outside of the user (heteronomous) and is not genderless, apathetic, or otherwise indistinct (as one has a distinct sense of gender, or conviction). end pt]
a heteronomous term like maverique for anon!
heteronomy is the opposite of autonomy (you can find discussion of both qualities here). maverique is an autonomous gender, meaning it is self-determined and independent of gender categorizations such as male, female, and neutral. heteronomous genders are thus not self-determined, instead defined by a preexisting gender categorization, role, identity, presentation, etc.
maverique is not just autonomous, but also defined by conviction, meaning one has a sense of gender rather than experiencing genderlessness, gender apathy, or anything similar, so i applied that characteristic to conticae as well! in short, maverique is an autonomous, gendered experience, while conticae is a non-autonomous, gendered experience.
the maverique and auingender flags both use warm colors and white to represent autonomy, so i went for the opposite for heteronomy. indigo represents heteronomy/being defined by something preexisting, black represents dependence, and teal represents inner conviction of gender.
the term combines 'contingent' and latin suffix 'icae', used for making adjectives, similar to maverique using french 'ique', which makes adjectives.
i'd like to propose hin (pt: hin /end pt] for heteronomous-in-nature, making this a hingender!

A probably unintented(?) but very funny thing resulting from the Welcome Home update happening in March:
You know how popular holidays are replaced by made-up similar holidays that are each associated with one of the characters? Sally with Halloween/Macabre Menagerie, Wally and/or Home with the Homewarming... And we know from the Merchandise page that Eddie was associated with "Mail-in-Time" Day, the equivalent of Valentine's Day. You know. The one that happens in February. Which just got skipped over. Very funny considering the whole deal with Eddie being ignored and out of work.

ive thought so much about why sapnap is Like That towards george/dnf and to me it just makes the most sense that its a mix of those factors

#never forget they used knockout instead of a different name they they had on the trade marks for SEXINESS reason. unreal.#<- can u explain that to me. anyways
yeah 👍🏻 although seems ive walked into a classic blunder of remembering something from a "the basics" video which ofc is from the wiki which ofc, its weirdly sourced and from a tf creator/company rep who. they have habits of just saying shit. ANYWAY. this is actually from the notes section on breakdowns page
the fandom concluded that Breakdown was meant to be Lugnut at some point in the episode's production. The Hub's Mike Vogel challenged this notion at BotCon 2011, claiming that Lugnut had been Knock Out's original name, which had been changed because "Lugnut" wasn't "sexy" enough for the character. The Prime Season 1 Blu-ray commentary, however, corroborated the original theory: Breakdown's place in the show was originally intended to belong to Lugnut, since a loyal Decepticon bruiser was desired, but the show creators wanted a land-based Decepticon instead.
That knockout was purposely designed as sexy seems to be a thing fans say a lot, tho i don't have a specific source to pull for that either. not that its particular hard to believe. and the tacit tf understanding here also being that. as the companies have to content with copyright branding, they prefer to use names they have on the books, and if the characters arent that iconic or new. any name seems to do, alas long as it fits the vibe.
also bonus fun(?) fact! botcon '11 also notable for when the writers said one of the most overly correctional homophobic things ive ever heard. (from knockout's notes section)(it DOES link the relevant youtube panel recording. but i have the wrong kind of mental illness, and would dissolve if i had to watch it, so lets take their word for it)
When asked at BotCon 2011, the Prime writers said that there is no designation for gay, or straight, for that matter, on Cybertron, where Transformers are created by the AllSpark, not through sexual reproductions. They also said that Knock Out is a knock out, and that the Nemesis is a very "don't ask, don't tell" place. And then they jokingly deflected the matter, claiming that Knock Out's mannerisms are not caused by any particular orientation, but are simply eccentricities caused by "a glitch in the AllSpark" the day he was created...

I really love how everyone is so in denial about Trigun 98 and BLR Vash and they try to lie to themselves he isn't genuinely in heat, it's all a 4D chess scheme to distance himself from people by being off-putting
But the truth is, it was just a popular archetype in the old days 😔💔

so while sitting in front of my laptop at 4am i suddenly remember about decision to leave as im listening to the ost which is phenomenal
which i'll make it about blackmadhi now unfortunately i will make everything about them. also this is more like a word dump bc exams have rotted my brain so my memories are more vague therefore some details may or may not be wrong crossing my fingers rn
also (again) this is not going in ANY directions at all i realize this halfway writing and i'm not fixing it
(skip through this part if you don't want to read about the movie for reasons - contains big ass spoilers)
the detail that enthralled me the most was seo-rae (the chinese female lead) and hae-joon (the male lead) sometimes converse through a translating app, which logically is unneeded as seo-rae is capable of using korean fluently on her own . the thing is, seo-rae chose to use them when she didn't want to communicate them by another language than her mother tongue as it was her rawest form of emotion (in addition to herself being a secretive person already). but again, if translating apps are that good then it doesn't even matter - it is bound to get things wrong. doesn't help that hae-joon himself is terrible with communication in general since he's basically obsessed with solving crimes and his work instead. so their “i love you”s are never “i love you” in words. throw the phone into the ocean, that's what he said to her. he got rid of all the evidence pointing towards her. she helped with his chronic insomnia. she cleaned the blood inside the pool because she knew he hated blood. but an ideal love story is not always a forever-and-ever one and this movie is one of them. hae-joon has a wife, he's a detective fighting for justice, he's in love with rules. seo-rae is a chinese immigrant who is a criminal, and basically... has nowhere to go left. fireworks are magnificent but you can't keep it blooming forever.
(end of spoilers)
so it made me think a bunch of things about blackmadhi in general. basically, if they somehow end up with each other and get their happy ending, going through 18 layers of hell might seem like an easier option. but personally i think it'll be really romantic. in their weird way but still one.
when i read some works i'm really interested in details where authors (shoutout to yall i love you) highlight their vast background differences that can't be changed. sure we all know that one is an ex-convict and one is a regent, but do you guys realize that
it's gonna suck for nahyuta since now he has to act in favour of his beloved home country instead of whatever he want
how likely is simon gonna be accepted as a partner (both legal wise and reputation wise)
eloping is out of the question
and that's only their first problem. i bet at this point if anyone even bothers to read all of this you guys are asking HOW IS THIS RELATED TO THE MOVIE i'm getting there i'm getting there.
one more thing to note is that they're from literally different cultures. simon is british/japanese (personally i go with british bc yk localization thingy) and nahyuta is east asian. there's this quote from the movie past lives (2023) that i really like:
you dream in a language that i can't understand. it's like there's this whole place inside of you where i can't go.
there are memories that you will never be able to fully insert yourself in, basically because it's not where you belong. the culture clash that makes you doubt if you truly belong anywhere at all. when you stay with your partner, one of you have to left their life behind - could be me, could be you. sure, flights are a thing nowadays, but flying means more like you're visiting for a vacation, not living there. you had spent your whole childhood there - it's a big difference.
your friends, your family, your traditions, your home now are halfway around the world. now you have to fit into their family, their traditions - how much of you can you retain? even between languages, you will never have a 1-to-1 exact translation. there are words don't exist in the other language. no matter how accurate and faithful, when you translate, it is obvious that it's not 100% truly what you mean at first anymore.
In Vietnamese, the word for missing someone and remembering them is the same: nhớ. Sometimes, when you ask me over the phone, Có nhớ mẹ không? I flinch, thinking you meant, Do you remember me?
I miss you more than I remember you.
(Ocean Vuong, On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous)
nonetheless, it's still him that you want. if you're willing to hold your hands through everything, you have basically won your bet.
you fall in love with that scowling, glaring prosecutor who's somehow an ex-convict and has a hawk with him. he only wears black and white attire. you could call him a wannabe samurai except that he's very, very, very serious about it - way more than a wannabe should be. he has curly, fluffy black hair with a visible white patch. he studies psychology but has a close connection with the (seemingly unrelated) cosmos space center. he loves his sisters dearly - the older is happily in jail and the unrelated younger is thriving as a defense attorney (who you called a spring chicken at first and he was extremely mad at it). he enjoys the noodles made by his drunkard friend whom you prosecuted once. sometimes, you wonder how lucky you are to be with him, but your little pretzel princess sister always stomps her feet and says that he should be the one feeling like that instead.
your first impression about him isn't the best - horrible, even. so much that you actually don't even like talking about it; you have never seen a living person with such a disastrous attitude. not to mention that he was actively hostile towards your long-time friends, which to you is utterly unacceptable. yet, when everything went down, you slowly realize that maybe you have found a similar deeply troubled soul. athena told you she felt deafening when she tried to hear his emotions. he's pretty, bitchy, preachy, insincere, he hisses and bites anyone trying to go near him. but then you finally got him smiling - which in first glance could feel like his usual fake ones - when he realizes he can trust someone like him. in your opinion, you think his palm tattoo is the most attractive thing about him; maybe even more than his jewel-like eyes. not like you would say it out loud - you're not sappy enough for those wordy expressions.

By Andrew Joseph Pegoda, Ph.D.
Unlike its SARS-CoV-1 predecessor a decade prior, SARS-CoV-2—frequently called COVID-19 to lessen alarm—has been an on-going, global crisis starting soon after its emergence in December 2019. The tenth wave of this Level 3 biohazard is starting and the injustices continue.
Official global deaths reported by governments total 7 million. Data scientists, demographers, and economists closely eyeing excess deaths have staggering estimates of actual COVID-19 loses: 20 million by the end of 2021, 30 million by the end of 2023, and currently almost 40 million.
Deaths from this novel, highly contagious virus are sometimes unavoidable. Yet, the vast majority of these seldom-acknowledged deaths are stupid deaths, stupid deaths because they were preventable deaths.
Death tolls from COVID-19 in the United States specifically would be lower had the CDC not given into pressure from Delta Air Lines in 2021 to decrease isolation periods. Death tolls would be lower if states en masse had not rushed to abandon mask requirements in 2021 and 2022. Death tolls would be lower if Hollywood’s stories meaningfully acknowledged COVID-19. Death tolls would be lower if the public narrative had been other than “vax and relax.” Death tolls would be lower if schools and businesses devoted meaningful efforts to improving and monitoring air filtration, especially in elevators. And the recent “back to the office” push will only increase deaths.
Beyond death tolls, I am concerned about what I am naming “stupid (re)infections.”
The typical person in the United States is being reinfected yearly, and the average person has now been infected with COVID-19 more than 3.5 times. And between 20% and 50% of infections are asymptomatic (during the acute phase!).
Repeated infections are unnecessary and avoidable, if mandatory masking in public places had remained and been completely normalized (of course, with appropriate exceptions for those with disabilities that prevent wearing a mask). Hospitals should have never dropped masking requirements, certainly not cancer centers. KN95 and N95 masks are highly effective and easy to wear—a practice that could only increase utility with the corresponding decreased sickness and death. People learned to wash their hands with soap; they can learn to wear a mask.
And this leads me to what I am naming “stupid suffering.”
COVID-19 is not the flu or a cold. Every infection substantially affects the body—including possible cognitive decline and impacts on the heart, T cells, the intestines, and the overall immune system—prompting a growing number of researchers to assert that COVID-19 triggers a new illness that parallels AIDS. Impacts further down the road remain unknown. Still, many people antidotally report having at least some lingering symptoms after their initial symptomatic infection. Specifically, Long COVID, which can be debilitating, impacts tens of millions in the United States, including 6 million children, and currently has no cure. Every infection substantially increases the risk of developing Long COVID. And this stupid suffering disproportionally impacts and further weathering minoritized individuals.
Stupid (re)infections. Stupid suffering. Stupid deaths. We must do better and not allow brute luck to dominate while awaiting treatments and better vaccines.
If missions to save lives and protect best interests are sincere, bioethicists have a profound opportunity, even a categorical imperative, to help lead the way toward a COVID-19 safer future and opportunities for reenvisioned justice, for Aristotle’s the good life.
COVID-19 uniquely shows the heteronomous nature of twenty-first-century life and what little weight negative rights hold as people—especially those already disabled like me—are forced into spaces that ignore the threats.
Andrew Joseph Pegoda, Ph.D., M.A., M.A. (@ajp_PhD), is a Lecturer of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Houston and a Bioethics and Health Policy graduate student at Loyola University Chicago.

Triconscious Pride Flag
Tumblr media
Triconscious (triconsciousness): embodying three forms of consciousness(es); a soul composed of conscious, inconscious, and subconscious minds; spiriting a triality of identity; a triple type of the psychisms or egos; embedding a self, a non-self, and an otherly self; sharing extrapersonhood and intrapersonhood while recognizing a third secret thing, such as interpersonhood/mesopersonhood or metapersonhood/exopersonhood; belonging anomously/anomically, heteronomously/heteronomically, and autonomously/autonomically.
Terms and symbols alluded or referenced: soulqueer; free spirit; "yin-yang-yuan"; tri spirited.
Advices about the term.
It should be noted that the terms "soul" and "spirit" are more used or appreciated among black people, people of tropical African ancestry or SubSaharian heritage, indigenous people, and people of Aboriginal diaspora. The term self and personhood are used here as inclusive of alterhumanity and plurality of system subjects. Inter- and meso- allude intermediating entities or objects, meta- and exo- mean outside/outcast (like ecto-) or beyond (like trans-/ulti-), but supra- may encompass both and infra- means the same as intra-, except extra-/inter-/meso- (or juxta-). And note that symbols and colors of triskelions involving the concept of triality are typically based on tricolored taegeuk, associated with dualism or monism (respectively: Taijitu and Wuji). Also, take care when deterritorializing ego or nonself into Buddhahood, Tao, or Hinduism. Anomie (not to be confused with anomaly or anonymity), heteronomy (not the same as heteronymy), and autonomy are ideas/ideals from sociology.
