It got bigger than it intended but this is still and always has been a show for nerds, queers and people who 'read too much into it'.

The implication in this panel that Rem was a bit of an alcoholic when she was depressed and grieving.

Vash really is like his mother.

I think what is missing to Vash fan characterization most of the time is the horror of what he is and the fear that goes with it.

Like how, with vashwood, everyone makes Wolfwood to be immediately so accepting of him and worship him or whatever but he does not! He's afraid of Vash. A fear which sticks to his very bones for a good bit of the story.

And it's not unfounded. Vash is a nuclear bomb in flesh. We've seen what kind of damages he could do, be it either with Knives or Vash's own, unwilling, use of the angel arm.

Who, Vash included, wouldn't be afraid when faced with that reality.

I want y'all to think about the horror of aging too fast then not at all. The horror of your body becoming so unstable it's unrecognizable, wild and out of your control. Of being afraid of hurting anyone and having the raw power to level entire cities if you don't keep yourself in check perfectly. The horror of no one, not even yourself, understanding what you are.

The alienation of it all.

Million Knives is for the marginalized who felt like the whole world was against them and their only option for survival was to march on and bite back.

Which sound based until you realize you're biting everyone, including friends, family and yourself. It's not even survival anymore, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy of doom.

You're not even an ally to your own nor to yourself, just a sick and lonely creature.

I rewatched the scene where Jayce fails upward to his position as a councilor, and I'm now persuaded Viktor chose to ask him to be partners again in the council room on purpose.

He was so defeated. His shoulders dropped as his partner was being made into a politician instead of a scientist, someone who talks over him, someone who turns his back to him.. someone who isn't his equal.

And when Jayce finally confront this truth, when he confronts Mel's manipulations in the council room, that's when Viktor appears, that's when he asks Jayce to become a partners again.

And Jayce refuses because Viktor changed too.

If Legato was found by Vash instead of Knives, and if they continued as a team, the show would have been over after one episode with a possible death rate of zero.

Truly crazy that Knives personally handpicked the Guns as disposable weapons. Gave a number to each one of them, including Zazie, an entire planet worth of bugs.

But he did not give one to Legato. His crazy emo boyfriend is just built too different, you see.
