The 24 Character Strengths are awesome references when writing characters!!

I've found this website to be extremely helpful and cool while fleshing out my characters' personalities and motivations.

Even if I only have basic personality traits for a character, exploring strengths that I feel fits them and reading their descriptions is fantastic for inspiration!! It really helps narrow down the basic ideals I imagine a character would believe in, and then I can get more specific from there. It's a great guide to springboard off of!

Each strength is sorted into one of six virtues. Starting with a broad virtue, for example "justice," and honing that down into the strengths of "fairness," "leadership," or "teamwork" makes writing them really fun!

Here's an example of the "fairness" strength description! Lots of detail and tangible qualities describing it!

Of course there are infinite ways to interpret a character strength, just like in real life. And people aren't always black and white and follow a strength 100% of the time. But it's been extremely helpful to see specific traits being described in so much detail, and imagining different scenarios that a character would react in. It's like I can understand them a bit more and think a little like them, especially if their trait isn't one of my personal strengths. :3

But I also recommend taking the actual personality test for yourself! I took it years ago and it was really cool to put a name to some of my strengths and see how detailed this descriptions were. And when my friends and I shared our results, I felt like we understood each other just a little more. :)

Just thought I'd share this reference that's been helping me lately :D

#I LOVE PERSONALITY TESTS!! So much!!!#I know they're not for everyone but I love understanding the people around me especially if we think super differently #ever since my dear friends introduced me to them when I was a little baby college freshman I've loved them #like I had been around almost the same people from age 5-18 so I had to expand my understanding of other people in a giant public universit #the love language test helped change my understanding of how to connect to others and made a lot of things click in my brain #I love complementing people and would feel hurt when people couldn't accept them or didn't want to #but learning that they by default receive love differently allowed me to explore other ways to express myself to them #and in turn they understood that I take the words I say seriously and they accepted that I was being authentic #one of my best friends is literally the total opposite Meyers-briggs type of me haha #but I also I share a lot of parallel traits with other best friends!#learning more about the ways people think differently from me was so eye-opening and amazing #and feeling understood by others in turn was also a new and beautiful feeling #anyway shoutout to my fellow INFPs- enneagram 9- and words of affirmation peeps out there!!!#thanks for reading hehehehe #reference #writing #personality tests #jojo rambles

A shortcut!#Now imagine for a sec trying to get through a parkcore + miros bird gauntlet with a corpse and a worm within 5 cycles #before the scav ran out of karma and you were stuck inside forever. Yeah #Besides that tho I've been messing around and been very tenderly modding the game.#Turns out you can have a bit of fun with most sprites without too much effort by simply cloning the MSC mod in your files #Then changing the copy's mod info so it doesn't clash and simply swapping images out for whatever you want #As long as you have the sprite name you can do this. You can also change region names and decals and music all sorts of stuff.#In short I've been brewing a custom mod for a friend to make her suffer as much as possible <3 #Thanks to a buddy on the rw server for showing me that trick btw lol. The best cesspool I've ever participated in #Oh before I forget- the symbol on CW's head is completely made up. They just looked so... Bald.#Tbh I wasn't expecting their personality to be so... bright? Most interpretations make them kinda solemn and gloomy #But nah this CW is what NSH should've been 100%. I like them. Not gonna spoil too much but their situation is somehow so... chill.#Still bad tho!#Other fun news! There's a scammer going around on discord that's basically like ''bad news I reported you for fraud''#And they're getting a lot of people. My buddy that owned my home server got hit and we lost everything. It's all OK tho nobody was hurt #I keep trying to ask them questions on my alts but they're ignoring me... #new (to me) car! huge answer to prayer!#was lowkey so stressed about car issues I was actively losing sleep over it.#having a reliable comfy and relatively cheap car now is such a blessing #dad very generously emptied his CDs out of the cool 30-yr-old compact holder I've been coveting for years and gave it to me #so now I get to party like it's 2007 driving around with my CDs expertly contained and catalogued #got accepted into the OTA program I was applying for all through the summer!#so gotta set up classes for that #more good school news is I've already done all the the co-reqs for next semester's OTA classes #meaning I only have 2 classes + choir which I'll do for fun and thus can work more hours and also have time for an actual life #looking forward to a more restful semester #time with family and friends has been so precious lately #even though it's been scarce it's been lovely and joyful when it happens #looking forward to the holidays actually for the first time in years!#usually they're dreaded because of family drama but I think I can manage to find joy anyway #and also choose to spend less time or no time in or around the drama #looking forward to break. three more weeks of classes and then freedom for five glorious weeks.#looking forward to Advent especially!#also made soup today and it's so good #thankful for a good job and for getting along with my coworkers #and immensely thankful for books especially audiobooks without which I would not have survived this year #and for the Gospel of John. it's holding me together rn. struggling through some faith questions and some anger towards God #the last few months #but as long as I can stay in scripture...it still seems worth it.#blessings

i don't think I've ever enjoyed a birthday party with friends as much as today i am genuinely getting a bit teary eyed

#video #elevenlabs #i've been fucking obsessed with these stupid fucking elevenlabs dubbed videos #specifically a friend sent me a ytp sexer dub and i absolutely lost it (laughing)#so i wanted to try a few videos out myself to see what the site would do with them #for some reason my first thought was to use bozo dubbed over #''i... i...... i.... ah..... i hope nobody leaves'' fucking killed me #i only did like 5 videos to see what it'd end up generating but usually if the audios too clear it'll just repeat what was said #except in the ai voices that it uses #the second video i did was just bozo dubbed over again. but that version is like really evil for no reason #third video was hotel mario high quality. and it basically says what they already say but with weird annunciations and the likes #fourth video being meet the sniper. it wasnt exactly what i wanted but it did alter a few lines #the final one just being hotel mario again but lower quality. which did result in me laughing really hard #granted. all of them made me laugh really hard to some extent #for the record. i didnt do any alterations except just make it dub from english to english #i don't know if there's more you can do with it. i don't think i can make any more without making a new account #unless the limit resets every week or so

I do not be acting that way #in fact i drew the shirts 3 times cause they had like 3 designs each. but i was just gonna draw the aji o kutta shirt again #cause its my favorite #my life update is ive had two different ppl be like 'you're cool lets be friends i wanna know more about you' and i keep thinking about it #cause that's not...ive got alarm sirens in my head. i make my friends by we keep bumping into each other in class and eventually get lunch #or in the case of my one classmate we came from the same school and had the same classes together for like 3 semesters he was like #are you stalking me like BRO?? i miss him #that or my last friend fed me attention like you might feed a wild deer popcorn in the woods and thats how we got close #so pardon me if im unfamiliar with 'i wanna get to know you' cause that's not. that's not...you want something from me.#i dont have time to make new friends right now though i am drowning in assignments #my current friends already have a hard time getting me to go anywhere. i was supposed to go see Look Back w them but i was so tired #'fed me attention' a better example is getting hearts with someone in harvest moon or stardew valley. im like that

came face to face with an ardennes horse on the other side of a fence on my walk today. nearly cried because i miss these big lovely creatures with my whole heart. i'm fine (most definitely not)

#pros of our new apartment: we live close to horses & several other animals (had a long chat with a flock of sheep and a very old goat)#cons: i am constantly reminded of my past as a horsegirl and the pain of not knowing when or how or if i will ever be able to return to it #ouch!#anyway. made eye contact with a big black horse with grey hairs in his forehead and his long mane was brown in the sunlight #i stood there for ten minutes and Looked at him and his equally big bay friend as they scratched each other and ate nonstop #if you even care #being poor + without a car + the only riding school you can imagine going back to being filled with people you'd rather not meet again ..#not good!#i keep having this thought that once i've moved somewhere else and am able to stand on my own legs .. then i can go back to the horses #it still hurts me that my equine therapist turned out to be like .. borderline abusive. at the very least a terrible person to have that jo #that could have been everything and more but nope :')#very ironic that the place i went to in order to deal with trauma created another trauma
