The winter time nears and San Nicholás Workshop opens its doors again. The terror priest holy saint Nick and his steady steed partner Vash the Stompy Deer Stampede ready themselves to bring holiday joy to the Trigun fandom. For that to work, they need the assistance of industrous helpers for a little gift exchange to heighten the festive joy.

Everyone is welcome to join. Bring your creativity to make a gift for someone chosen by the number roulette. You can do everything creative, e.g. drawing, writing, photographing, video editing and more.

Of course, you will receive a little gift, too. For that, take your time and formulate three little prompts (e.g. ship you like doing something cute, Elendira getting her nails fixed, Zazie meeting Kuroneko, etcpp.)

To avoid anyone being upset, you can also add your squicks or topics you'd like to avoid (e.g. angst, blood, etcpp). Your gifter will take those into consideration and your gift won't contain them.

Please be aware that everyone is welcome to join, everyone has a different level of skill and may chose a medium of their liking to fulfill your prompt.

If you want to participate, please follow this link to a google forms document and fill it out. You have time for that til Monday, the 11th of November 6pm CET(18 Uhr UTC+1). You'll receive the name of your giftee and their prompts on the same day via an anon message. Please post your gift between the 24th and the 31th December.

Hi! I was wondering about the 31th chapter of tfs. How is it coming along? (Just wondering, no pressure.)

Aahh thanks for asking, anon! It’s actually very motivating to know people are looking forward to it.

In short: it’s coming along!

Longer answer: my hope was to get it out before the end of the month, which may or may not happen depending on how much time I get this weekend. I took a break from tfs after posting part 30 to do a (modified) version of NaNoWriMo in November, and then planned to get back to tfs in December, but this month I found myself in a rather unfocused flitting-from-WIP-to-WIP state of mind, so progress has been slowish. But I am well over halfway through part 31, and also have been in a tfs mood all week, so stay tuned!

The bigger problem is that I have a lot of plot points I need to work out in the fourth arc as a whole. Yes, before people panic, I do know what is going to happen about that one Situation. And I think the resolution of the main plot is pretty fun! But there are a lot of moving pieces in play (what’s Amras up to? how is Thingol going to react to everything? is anyone going to do something about Maeglin?) and I don’t know the answers to all of them yet! So although it may not be too long until part 31, updates are generally going to be slow until I’ve got everything plotted somewhat out to my satisfaction.

I think Colin Farrell might be the Book 1 Serpine, with thinner cheeks.

Hm, yes, book 1 Nef does look like Colin Farrel especially in his role as Percival Graves. Thick eyebrows, thin lips, nose and ear shapes about right, if stretched the chin line looks right too.

I think it’s very likely that Percival used a picture of Colin Farrel and stretched it to give him a thinner/longer face shape for Nef, tho I’m not sure if this is the pic he used, considering it doesn’t lock into place as perfectly as I would like it too :/

The white covers were released on the 31th of October 2016 and the first Fantastic Beasts movie was released on the 18th November 2016, but promo material for this movie would have 100% already been available prior to the movie’s release making it the same situation as the Captain Marvel trace.

The picture above is part of the ‘Fantastic Beasts Studio Shots’ for Percival Graves so I think it would have most likely been used as early promo material.

If this is the pic that was used for the trace I’m afraid that Percival may have used the liquify tool/painted over it too much for it to be added to the evidence pile tho.

Thoughts?

I think the previous anon claiming SoW Nef was traced from Lestat/Tom Cruise may have been trolling, especially since they never sent me the pic in question.

Percival seems to be sticking to one actor for each character since the white covers. For Val it’s Anya Taylor-Joy and for China it’s Grace Kelly, so I don’t see why he wouldn’t do that for the other characters.

Also, those characters that look especially atrocious (like SoW Nef), they probably make for bad evidence since he changed so much about them that they hardly look human anymore, so  doubt that they still look close to the source material anyways.

I think it’s better to focus on the better/more realistic looking art like the M7 line ups and the old character cards.

I think at this point I have enough evidence to say for certain that Percival has made it a habit to trace, the challenge is getting more people to care about it.

Sadly, usually mostly only artists tend to care about stuff like this and the fact that this fandom is so damn tiny isn’t helping either.

Ever wondered what Splatoon would be like if we used eggs instead ? Ever hated a muse so much, you’d do anything to see them plagued by the whole dash with eggs ? Do you hate, just hate the Easter Bunny ? Well, looks like this is the perfect event for you !!

A small, crack-y, IC-ly event to liven up the dash, the EGGFEST 2020 is in town ! During this event, your muse will be given a carton of 24 eggs, plus a ‘special egg’, per day. The goal ? Throw all of them, hit the most targets, while also evading the most !

To participate, here are the rules:

But also some ... Honorable mentions. What do you get, other than bragging rights for an entire year ? Well ... We may see what good this title will give you the very next year.
