#8 - Is there a story idea you have that you would love if it could appear fully realized but that you do not think you’ll ever write yourself?

Several, in fact, and I usually just put them up on the MDZS kinkmeme and hope someone else puts me out of my misery. XD

There's the Neckz'n'Throatz AU that I won't ever write for two main reasons: 1) It would need to be full of UST and very sexually charged situations plus all the smut, and I don't feel confident writing all of that. XD 2) This prompt is very much inspired by a Teen Wolf fic and that fic is still quite clear in my memory. I wouldn't want to subconciously copy stuff from the original, since the dynamic between the main couple would start out quite similarly. There are several claimants for this prompt, so who knows what comes of it at some point!

Then there's the Fire Island AU, because I loved that movie so much as an awesome modernisation of Pride & Prejudice. I get stuck on adapting some of the characters and hopefully, someone else can untangle all of this because it would work so well for Wangxian. T_T

There's also the Yiling Laozu Lan Wangji canon divergence haunting me in some way and I might write a short-ish version of it, but it would deserve a 100k fic or something. XD

I tend to get stuck on movie/TV show AUs tbh but are too lazy and too slow to actually write all of them. Newest additions to this wishlist are a Temptation Island AU, an Easy A AU (omegaverse), and a Fall Guy AU. *sigh* Thank you for playing @chrononautintraining!

they're doing crazy things like... not tormenting the cloud recesses with their sex life, and wwx isn't sitting in lwj's lap, and making lxc think that wwx has been cursed to lose his memory or something

Hi new Tumblr followers.

Some of you may have found me via the random poll that went viral. This is largely a fandom-related blog with occasional posts about life, the universe, and everything. Sometimes social or political issues.

If you didn’t notice from my Tumblr bio thingie, I’m 39yo enbie queer, have been writing fanfiction since the late 90s, was a professor until December when I quit due to department toxicity and burnout, and I advocate on queer rights/issues/history, disability, anti-racism, anti-capitalist, etc. issues. I’ve previously been involved in protests, particularly when I was more able-bodied. I am a published poet, recently was involved in developing an academic textbook involving the Holocaust, and am generally active in literary communities beyond fandom. I warn you, I also like to randomly quote Hamlet at inappropriate moments.

Fandom-wise, I’ve written mostly for Yu Yu Hakusho, Slayers, Pandora Hearts, Miraculous Ladybug, Mo Dao Zu Shi/The Untamed and a smattering of other fandoms. I mostly write in the MDZS/Untamed fandom now. I used to participate in Kinkmemes on LiveJournal, including helping to run a small one for the Slayers fandom. In the 2000s I ran a small Yu Yu Hakusho fanfiction contest. I helped judge several other contests, as well. I used to RP a lot, as well. I often beta read for friends, though I don’t do it on any large scale as I don’t want to.

I don’t tend to share my IRL info based on a prior fandom’s wannabe-BNF creeper’s henchpeople threatening to dox me. Not that it matters since I’m currently unemployed by choice and necessity.

I like Tumblr as a throwback to the relative intimacy of blogging in Internet 1.0, where even in anonymity there’s more connection than through modern social media, which seems largely comprised of screaming into the void with the dubious pleasure of going viral as the only goal and “reward.” In other words, I’m internet old and crotchety.

I previously went “viral” when I posted about murmurings that Fanfiction.Net might go away, and wound up deleting that post because the notifs were driving me crazy. I also had a random post about a class get featured on a FB group, and was accused of being racist toward white people for simply using the word “colonialism.” As in “English was spread to many places via colonialism and thus has many dialects, none of them more valid than any other.”

The only saving grace to this poll going viral is the fact that it’ll be over in a few more days. I’m not really sure what about this poll tickled so many people into sharing, but from many of the tags it seems to be the fact that it brought up childhood memories and nostalgia for a lot of people. Likely the fact that it was done without the capitalist push to buy something added to the appeal.

Fic prompt (with Wangxian ex.)

My partner who isn't in fandom and has only been exposed to MDZS through me and some of the donghua came up with this prompt:

What if you had someone who only put out on the first date and ONLY the first date.

Guaranteed s*x when you meet but entirely chaste afterwards.

But what really got me rolling was they then gave me this Wangxian interaction:

Wei Wuxian sat dumbfounded and frustrated. "But- but- last week you were so forceful!" he said.

 Lan Wangji twirled his drink once and looked him the eye. "One and done," he repeated.

I was just rolling at this supposed interaction and prompt and had to share 🤣😂 the fact that their little interaction is actually mostly in character cracks me up since they have only broad strokes of the story ahahaha.

I mean the only way I can rationalize this is if it's some weird Lan rule, because we all know LWJ is not good at restraining himself around WWX once they've gotten together. But still I found it highly amusing 😂 Also if someone is legitimately interested in this prompt it is all yours! I am not a writer and my partner most definitely will not write it.
