Katia McKinley ✤ Hallelujah

When Katia McKinley first met the Winchester brothers, she had no idea who they were.  Dean was nothing more than the hot new guy in her class who she made out with in the janitor’s closet and slept with in the backseat of his car, and Sam was only the little brother he’d mentioned once or twice.  Nothing memorable, beyond how good the sex was, nothing important.  And then Katia McKinley died, and the Winchesters were the farthest thing from her mind. But then she woke up.  Still dead, technically, but somehow surviving a vampire attack that really, truly should have killed her.  Her new instincts wanted her to hunt, to kill, to feed, but Katia didn’t want to become the monster that haunted her every waking moment.  So she became a different kind of hunter.  Under the guidance of Bobby Singer, Katia learned about all things that go bump in the night, and she learned how to protect people.  For years she dedicated herself to her new cause: not killing monsters, but protecting innocents.  Protecting people like she’d once been, completely normal and entirely unaware of the danger lurking around every corner. cindy peered down at the ruined fabric of her shirt, no amount of washing will save the once white shirt, there will always be a tarnish on it. light roll of her shoulders in a sort of shrugging motion, she looked back up at mckinley. ❝ that's all that matters then. ❞ she earnestly said, it was cindy in the wrong anyhow, she moved her footing knocking the legs of the table. ❝ just got a little freshen up, nothing too serious. ❞ she laughed lightly to ease any of her friend's woes. an observant barista came rushing over with a rag to assist in cleaning up the mess, cindy murmured an apology and a thank you to the young woman. before her attention went back to mckinley.

after all, the other had night shift or so she believed? if she remembered correctly their last talk during their break though days were blurring into one that she couldn't recall confidentiality as this was cindy day off. ❝ did you have the graveyard shift ? ❞

McKinley finished the night shift she was covering and went to her favorite coffee shop. She was having dinner with Gabriel tonight and knew she needed a little coffee to revive her. Taking the first empty seat she can find, she folds up her cane and places her plate down. Someone starts to greet her but it is cut off with the sounds of the table moving and liquid spilling. "Oh god." She said with a shake of her head, "No I am good, how about you? Get any on you?"

Bought these tickets for $30 right after i saw it on west end, was originally going to take my brother but he didn’t want to go so i brought my friend lol (thanks anna i hope you had a good time 😋)

bought the enamel pin set! its now on my updated TBOM/matt stone trey parker shrine lol. I wanted to buy a shirt for when I go in January but they were all so expensive!! does anyone have any like shirts on etsy or redbubble recommendations?

Anyway rest of post below cut! Some photos and videos as always!

- The show was still fantastic as always but I definitely did not have as good a time as i did on west end- my seats were allllll the way back

I kinda felt like i was dreaming through the show, i had to squint to see and the seats were so small and everyone around me smelled like alcohol 😭

- The highlight of the show was absolutely Diego Enrico as elder cunningham. He was so good and so so so fun to watch and he is so cute lol

- i felt like the only characters I could connect to were cunningham, nabulungi, and the doctor/gotswana for some reason?? like they were the only characters that i was really really excited to watch

I know price is the leading man but i feel like I barely saw him- idk if I just was zoning out when he was on stage, he was still amazing, I just felt like this watch around he was more of an accessory to cunningham and his arc than his own independent thing. His most memorable moment in the show for me was end of i believe and his part in I am Africa (and anna’s reaction to that was priceless her mouth was wide open 😭) also the intro to and all of smhd

Also- mckinley- he is usually like one of if not my favorite character and i BARELY got to see him I was trying so hard to pay attention and stay invested but like i was not getting anything i could barely see him 😭 for some reason he did not feel like a main character at all in this performance and I have no idea why (maybe because i was so far away?) i was so sad about it lol- craig was wonderful though and his voice is heavenly and it was not his performance at all

- in the mission hut, instead of the couch, there was just a bunch of old office chairs?? did they change the set or is it just for the touring productions?

- the little golden moroni at the top of the stage didn’t move :(

- on occasion they had the lights go out into the audience and it was really cool/pretty

- fun overhead spotlights!! people who were doing handheld face on spotlights sometimes forgot to turn them on though so sometimes people would just be like… half in the dark

- being so high up i got to see a lot of the blocking and formation I hadn’t seen before, that was really cool. The dances looked great from so up high!! There were even parts of the show I didn’t even know there was dancing I finally got to see so that was cool

- the villagers were the other highlight of this. They were so fun to watch and so funny and I loved them so much. JSAM I think was my favorite part of the show it was so great

- sam (elder price) was like just a tiny tiny bit flat at some parts on occasion? I feel bad for saying this lol. he sounded fantastic most of the time though! His acting and dancing were flawless though, I loved watching him in AAP and SMHD specifically

- there was no mcpriceley in this like AT ALL and I missed the mcpriceley almost kiss AGAIN erghhhh idk how it keeps happening 😭

they were leaning into pricingham a lot and at the end price picked him up and like twirled him around it was really cute lol

- felt like the arnaba chemistry was more platonic than romantic but idk 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Favorite cryptid: Jackalope. Who in the band is most likely to survive a horror movie, and why?: I think it's gonna be Tyler; most resources, best equipped for building booby traps.

Tyler Gary (he/him) Instrument(s): Clarinet, Saxophone, Trombone, Keys. Favorite scary movie or book: Recently I read Mexican Gothic and while it wasn't my all time favorite, it definitely captured some good haunting creepy vibes. Would recommend for the mushroom horror.

Favorite cryptid: The chupacabra. Who in the band is most likely to survive a horror movie, and why?: I'd be the second or third to die. “Quick everybody, I have a plan! All we have to do is...“ *Dies in a horrible dramatic way*. I think Abe would be last to die. He would disappear early on and we would think he's dead but he actually just went on a hike and came back at the end.

Favorite cryptid: Nessie. Who in the band is most likely to survive a horror movie, and why?: Probably Collin. If it were something corporeal, he'd knock it out with a baseball bat. If it were an angry ghost, he'd talk to it and de-escalate the situation.

Favorite cryptid: Michigan Dogman. Who in the band is most likely to survive a horror movie, and why?: Kit survives the horror movie, for sure. Zombie flick? Kit decapitates the shambling hordes with lethal pirouettes. Teen slasher film? Kit distracts the villain with some concocted-on-the- spot YA fiction just long enough that he doesn't even notice he's walking right into his own poetic and ironic death. Vampire horror show? Please. Kit was the vampire. Kit was always the vampire.

Summary: Audrey is in her first month of college. Within three weeks, she’s moved out of her childhood bedroom and into a room with a window that seems to open on its own and a door that creaks loud enough to wake up the whole floor, she’s stumbled into a friend group that seemed to pull itself together like drawstrings, and she’s gotten a job at an adorable independent milkshake shop with her roommate and one of her new friends. What more could she possibly ask for?

The world, it seems.

Audrey has a list ten miles long of all the little things she wants college to be. One night, she starts listing them out loud. Her friends—Logan, Lennon, McKinley, Aspen, and Levi—chime in with their own after a moment, and before anyone knows it it’s been three hours and they haven’t stopped. They aren’t even sure whose idea it is, but they start writing it down. Every box on this ridiculously decorated list will be checked off by the end of the year, they swear.

Someone makes an Instagram account as a joke, but by the first post it’s become as serious an endeavor as they’ve ever had. They wouldn’t call themselves local celebrities, but they certainly wouldn’t correct you if you did. The thing about fame at this age, even at small amounts, is that it's bound to go to someone's head...

Alright, since I realize I haven’t exactly been as active on here recently as I would like to have been, I thought I would attempt to make up for it by letting you guys in on some of the newest OC babies I’m planning on introducing soon. I hope you guys like these little tidbits, and (even though I don’t have any of their intro posts up yet), feel free to ask me whatever questions you’d like about them!!

BAILEY TAYLOR, GLEE:

— Texas native who transfers to McKinley at the beginning of season two after her mother’s job is relocated to Lima.

— Generally your typical sweet Southern belle, but also fiercely independent and has a feisty streak.

— Well-set up to be popular when she first transfers, but quickly becomes an outcast after giving a tongue-lashing to some jocks after she watches them slushy Tina, so she joins New Directions.

— Generally sings country and pop music outside of the group numbers, but occasionally busts out a showtune (and does some country duets with Sam).

— Either a Tina or Santana ship, I haven’t quite decided yet.

CLARKE TALEB, TRIPLE FRONTIER:

— Her story is set in kind of an AU post-canon after the boys recover the stolen money from the ravine, where Santi officially retires and they all move to the same town close to each other (and also where Frankie doesn’t have a baby and broke up with his girlfriend because I just. Can’t really deal with that).

— Quite literally bumps into Frankie at a bar (and spills her drink all over him) and very quickly becomes friends with all four of them.

— A total energetic and social ray of sunshine who’s very comfortable in her bisexuality and active in her local queer community, and helps the boys come to terms with their various non-straight identities.

— The main singer at a local burlesque club, and KILLS it as a performer.

— In a poly ship with all four former Delta Squad boys, who are all also dating each other (except for Will and Benny, obviously).

GRETA DWARF, DISNEY’S DESCENDANTS:

— Daughter of Grumpy of the seven dwarves fame.

— Pretty much lives up to her father’s name; doesn’t put up with one bit of crap and is never afraid to speak her mind (which normally doesn’t make most people happy, but she doesn’t really like people anyway).

— Is definitely an outcast in Auradon and at school; the only people who actually talk to her at school outside of the teachers are Ben and her cousin Doug, who’s actually a little scared of her.

— Befriends Mal almost immediately after the VKs get to Auradon (they are truly kindred spirits) and decides to try and help them steal Fairy Godmother’s wand because she resents Auradon and how fake and falsely cherry it is.

— Doesn’t really lose her prickly streak by the time the Coronation rolls around, but does come to realize that not everyone in Auradon is so bad and she needs to let people in more.

— Definitely besties with Mal, but also strikes up unlikely friendships with Carlos and Lonnie (and kind of becomes Carlos and Jane’s unofficial protector since they’re both pretty quiet and she is. Not).

— Also an Evie ship because I simply have to give my beloved girl a girlfriend. <3

ISAAC HOLLIDAY, TWLIGHT:

— A boyfriend for my bi king Charlie Swan. <3

— A tailor who runs a clothing shop in downtown Forks - Charlie constantly brings his uniform to his shop whenever it gets ripped.

— Definitely suspects the Cullens of being vampires but can never prove it until Charlie lets him know about Edward and this man just jumps up and shouts “I KNEW IT!”

— Sweet but fiercely loyal and protective Gryffinpuff king. <3

— Definitely acts as a non-Charlie adult confidant to Bella and is the best stepdad when he and Charlie finally get together.

— Also used to have a bit of a crush on Carlisle and still gets nervous around him even after getting together with Charlie because Carlisle is just. So pretty.

LUCY SCRUBB, INDIANA JONES:

— A British archeologist working with American Army Intelligence who gets assigned with Indy to help him find the Ark of the Covenant.

— Kind of shy and socially awkward (mostly due to constantly being underestimated in her field for being a woman) but incredibly intelligent and observant and knows when to stand her ground and not take other people’s crap.

— (Also probably autistic, but, well, they didn’t really have the language for that back then. But she is.)

— An incredibly sweet and compassionate woman who would do anything to help people in need (but also tends to trust too easily, which is why Indy is good at balancing her out).

— Indy likes to call her Lou, and she pretends to hate it, but she secretly loves that he thinks enough of her to give her a cute nickname.

— A ship for the daring professor himself, obviously!

VIA WINCHESTER, SUPERNATURAL:

— (Yes, I know Winchester sister OCs are overdone, I don’t even care.)

— Technically her first name is Olivia, but she doesn’t like it and prefers to go exclusively by Via.

— Sam and Dean’s half-sister, fifteen years old in the first season, who was born out of a three-night stand between John and her mother.

— John didn’t stick around, obviously, but he kept tabs on Via and her mother and when the woman was killed in a car accident shortly after Sam left for collage, he came and got her and started training her to be a hunter.

— Immediately loves her two older brothers and is fiercely loyal to and protective of them, but shares a closer bond with Dean since she’s spent more time with him.

Our family moved our old dining table to a study area a long while back and I have a specific little corner seat at that table which is also where I did all my schoolwork for Library school. It's my Official Productivity Seat.

...but also in bed. Often late at night. Sometimes it's not enough to fall asleep with Scenarios in your brain. Sometimes they have to come out.

As far as public spaces go, I love the reading room at the library I work at. It's got a really big gorgeous window and super-high ceilings. If I have a wonky schedule like I have storytime in the morning but my actual desk shift is in the afternoon, I'll just bring my laptop and write there rather than bother schlepping back home for less than 2 hours.

19. Most interesting topic researched for a fic

Oohh well, orchids' symbiotic relationship with micorrhizae is definitely up there, but also so is Leon Czolgosz and the President McKinley assassination. Oh OH WAIT Jack Parsons for sure.

28. Least favorite part of the writing process

I feel like I've gotten so much faster at pumping fics out since I basically started writing them out of order starting with the scenes I'm really hooked on and then kind of linking them together into a sequence from there. It honestly makes writing the intro to the fic so much easier because I have something I'm actively working toward. But like... you do run into a lot of points where you're like "Ah. I've gotten into the tedious connective tissue now." But that's also a fun challenge in and of itself because you kind of have to figure out how to keep your own attention as much as the reader's.
