An introduction to my second WIP!!

Summary: Audrey is in her first month of college. Within three weeks, she’s moved out of her childhood bedroom and into a room with a window that seems to open on its own and a door that creaks loud enough to wake up the whole floor, she’s stumbled into a friend group that seemed to pull itself together like drawstrings, and she’s gotten a job at an adorable independent milkshake shop with her roommate and one of her new friends. What more could she possibly ask for?

The world, it seems.

Audrey has a list ten miles long of all the little things she wants college to be. One night, she starts listing them out loud. Her friends—Logan, Lennon, McKinley, Aspen, and Levi—chime in with their own after a moment, and before anyone knows it it’s been three hours and they haven’t stopped. They aren’t even sure whose idea it is, but they start writing it down. Every box on this ridiculously decorated list will be checked off by the end of the year, they swear.

Someone makes an Instagram account as a joke, but by the first post it’s become as serious an endeavor as they’ve ever had. They wouldn’t call themselves local celebrities, but they certainly wouldn’t correct you if you did. The thing about fame at this age, even at small amounts, is that it's bound to go to someone's head...

Levi doesn't care one way or the other about the idea of love languages, but don't even think for one second that his isn't gift giving. He grew up with money, so anything his friends want, his friends get. The problem is that he's gotten quite used to people who would rather be friends with his bank account than him, and his only real friend since… well, ever has been Audrey. Shockingly, the people Audrey introduces him to don’t seem at all interested in his credit card. Weird…

Figured I’d make references of Casimir with various spin offs, along with adding some updated information on him! I think it’s obvious that he’s my favorite child at this point, he’s so spoiled.

I also made a reference of his helmet and eyes (I only draw his eyes without the hearts when I want to simplify his design a bit cause I’m lazy)

Bugs Bunny Builders

DISCLAIMER! I have never seen BBB, so.. I just thought the style was cute and wanted to see if I could get close enough to it. Not sure how the BBB universe works at all.

Casimir is from space, but ended up landing on Earth and loved the place so much that he decided to stay. The crew decided to appoint him as a decorator, choosing colors and other accessories for their projects.

His color blindness does tend to be a setback for him at times, but he still pushes through no matter what.

The Looney Tunes Show

This version of him is NOT that developed. He’s still a WIP.

Casimir is Marvin’s roommate, and works at an animal shelter as a volunteer. He’s also part of a biker gang.

He was placed in the same exchange program as Marvin. Casimir was placed in there by his mother, as she couldn’t handle his hyperactivity and other issues. She believed that it would straighten him up, only for Casimir to not want to go back home afterwards.

He befriended Marvin at one point and the two became friends, and eventually roommates.

Tiny Toons Looniversity

I’ve never seen the original Tiny Toons. Well, I have.. but only one episode since they took it off of Hulu when I started it a few years ago. I’ve only seen TTL in full.

This reference was also rushed.

Casimir is a theatre professor at Acme Looniversity.

He was the professor of a melee weapons class, but moved to less arduous work after developing an interest in acting. He still has his various weapons, though, and uses them as props for different Looniversity plays.

Casimir’s Legacy, as the students call it, revolve around his various techniques of using more cute (but still terribly dangerous) weapons to catch his enemies off guard. He is also known by students as being Marvin’s partner -and probably more- in space exploration.

His war hammer, the Heart Throbber, is his popular and most adored weapon out of any of them. Made out of Neptunian diamond, the weapon is pretty strong, and can do a serious amount of damage.

The war hammer is rumored to be so heavy that Casimir is the only one who’s able to lift and use it, along with other rumors claiming that he and the hammer are cosmically connected in some way. The war hammer itself is displayed in the Looniversity’s auditorium hall.

I was debating on adding the information on him and Marvin for this variation, but decided to do it anyway.

When Casimir and Marvin attended the Looniversity as students, the both of them were practically inseparable. There was never a day when the two weren’t together.

Some of the other professors speculate that the duo were more than just friends, recalling the times where the two would play Tooney Ball as an inseparable pair in their team every single year, or played the lead roles in one of the school plays together.

Casimir and Marvin don’t get along as well as they used to, only because they don’t hang out as much as before. Their difference in careers and personalities has caused a strain in their former dynamic as well.

However, they do still care for each other, which is pretty evident whenever a situation requires for them to team up and support the Looniversity’s students. They do tend to become visibly embarrassed about it afterwards, or whenever it’s pointed out by anybody, and always try to brush it off as nothing.

Yo, I heard him everyday (Encanto oneshot), my very first fic Quake (Umbrella Academy, complete multichapter), my long fic baby The Time Traveller’s Life (Umbrella Academy, 170k WIP), my other will-hopefully-grow-up-into-a-longish-fic Obedience Suite (in A minor) (Umbrella Academy, 30+k) and finally Five’s first displacement (Umbrella Academy oneshot - prologue to TTL)

I do respond to comments! I love getting comments, and I love responding to them. You’ve shared your reaction with me, I want to share my reaction to your reaction! (or at the very least say thank you and let you know I read your comment!) I’ve fallen into the habit now of generally responding to comments on a previous chapter when I upload the next one.

What fic has the angstiest ending…. hmmm…. Farewell and The Hunt both ends in character death, and by default Five in the Apocalypse Sob Stories are all angsty AF

Ooh the happiest ending. Of Ghoulies and Spoons is just fluff, and The Tails of the Umbrella Aquarium has an angsty start and a happy ending

Do I write crossovers? I certainly write AUs / Fusions, those are my jam. For the Umbrella Academy I’ve done Daemon AU, Howls Moving Castle (would this class as a retelling perhaps, putting TUA characters into the HMC world and adapting it to fit?), and Ella Enchanted AU, and of course a Time Traveller’s WIfe AU. Have I writtena strict crossover where characters from two universes meet and interact? No.

I got a book mark on TTL with a trollish note (‘Zzzzzzzzz’) - they had gone through a bunch of fics and given them rude comments. But thats the worst of it.

I do not write smut.

Not that I know of. I hope not.

Somebody once asked if they could translate my fic, but then never responded or let me know if they actually did or not, so I don’t think so.

My fave ship…. I do read a lot of Zukka. Also ineffable husbands.

A WIP I want to finish but never will….well never say never. I hope to finish all my WIPS I’ve got up as WIPs. But I did post the start of a Everyday AU and labelled it clearly as free for adoption / inspiration as I just don’t see me having the time to ever really get going with that one. But who knows, it could happen.

My writing strengths… Complex timelines and time-travelling shenanigans. My devious mind and organisation skills combine nicely for that. I also can turn my hand to a mean drabble when the inspiration strikes.

Writing weaknesses…I can go pages and pages without including dialogue. I need to remember people do really be saying things to themselves/each other.

Thoughts on dialogue in other languages on AO3… it very much depends on the context for me. The odd word or phrase used sparingly for effect can really aid in and elevate characterisation or world setting for me. But it can be a fine line between an effect and a gimmick. When long dialogue is written out and then translated for me as the reader I personally wish it was just left in english and clarified in the speech tag that it was said in Spanish/Elvish/Whatever-ish.

The Umbrella Academy was my first fandom, and I’m still there now!

I have written a short oneshot for Avatar Last Airbender, but there is a longfic idea bouncing around my brain (another AU….lol) that would be nice to get out one day. I’d also kind of like to write for Temeraire, but I’m really not sure I could nail that old english voice. I am far too modern I think!

The Time Traveller’s Life is my baby. I’ve put so much work into that one. But I have other favourites too for other reasons. But forced to pick, it’s TTL.

your favorite books and why

I fell in love with Wuthering Heights first time I read it and it definitely rewired my brain. That book taught me what true love looks like probably why I’m single. The downside is the pain of suffering of existing on tumblr and tbh some parts of twitter when that’s one of your favorite books and no one ever references the “whatever souls are made of” line accurately and then on the other side you just have people saying “that is NOT romantic” no one is right about Wuthering Heights but me it’s a burden.

As Meninas is one of the novels by my favorite Brazilian writer, Lygia Fagundes Telles, and it’s kind of YA if the category existed at the time but it hits me very deeply with its discussion of politics in the middle of the dictatorship and the nutsy crazy of the main girls is called Ana Clara and everyone refers to her as Ana Turva I won’t explain the pun to non-lusophones but whatever my username or anything on any social media of mine uses the word “turva” that’s what I’m referring to. Also Fagundes Telles was simply a fantastic writer.

Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, the movie did not did the book justice I think it stripped away so much of what made it so great but they are details so it seems no one really cares because Garfield is there anyway, but it’s the book or nothing for me. This book ruined my life and this is what I look for in literature.

A Hundred Years of Solitude, I absolutely hate Love in Times of Cholera but aside from that García Márquez knows his stuff, it’s a glorious work of art and the way it perfectly lands both its opening and closing lines... rarely ever seen... so what if you have to keep track of a bunch of people who have the same name.

The Blind Assassin. If I’m being honest Margaret Atwood is most often an “eh” than an A+ to me but this booooooook. I simply love it so much. It is another one of those that destroys me if this list will tell you anything is I exclusively love sad books but this hits so much with every bit of the “mystery” of it coming out exactly the right way and people need to stop whining about first person narration being bad let the sad woman narrate in the first person if she wants to. Idgaf about Handmaid’s Tale this is her masterpiece to me.

Slaughterhouse Five is brilliant prose and themes and started (or popularized) my favorite trend the CHARACTER UNSTUCK IN TIME ty for giving us Lost’s The Constant ty for everything Vonnegut.

To the Lighthouse is such a basic response for someone who’s supposed to actually Know Virginia Woolf but it’s both a great example of what she meant to attempt with her writing and still readable in a way books like The Waves... aren’t as much... It’s just perfect character construction we have Mrs. Ramsay we have Lily Briscoe we have “if it’s fine tomorrow”. Mrs. Dalloway actually has my favorite non-essay Woolf quote but TtL is a literary project at its peak, to me.

Didn’t know whether to say The End of the Affair or Brighton Rock by Graham Greene but I’m going with Brighton Rock for its take on relationship between good and evil and the closeness of the concepts I feel like so many works of media that are fandom-worshipped try to do this take and I always consistently hate it sorry Bryan Fuller I know what you were trying to do but I got it when I read this.

Play It as It Lays, Joan Didion, I’m strictly sticking to novels here because it’s the boundary I made for myself but this is a close tie with The Year of Magical Thinking. I just love this more because the prose, the prose, the prose, also the messed up woman.

This is very English language centered I realize and I AM ashamed of it but also in my defense once I decided to for whatever reason (I have mine!!!!) to exclude short stories and poems that created a great obstacle for the literature of my own country to show up here because my favorites are short stories and poems. I do realize I need to expand my horizons! This is also not all of the books I’d call “favorite” but the ones I thought of here. Also I have a lot of more contemporary books I’ve given five stars to but I prefer to let things have their time and marinate before I go listing them as favorites.

Nobody's asked but I feel like letting people know, so please excuse my presumption of any interest!

Writing is currently going well, with the kick up the ass that is NaNoWriMo - I'm using it to write updates for my fics. What I'm not doing is rereading or editing anything, as I don't have time, so don't expect new chapters in November.

I'm focused on finishing the final chapter for 'A Hopeless Place' so that's complete and no longer a WIP to worry about. I'm also working on the next chapter of 'The Time Traveller's Life'.

So hopefully they will both update early December once I can pause to edit and proofread! After that my main focus will be back to TTL, but I would also like to try to get a chapter of 'Obedience Suite (in A minor)' out before Christmas time if I can.

I don't have as much time to write as I did and with several WIPs I've spread myself a bit thin. Hopefully finishing Hopeless, and putting Gardener on hiatus, means I can get back into a monthly TTL update pattern and write Obedience on the side.

yeah of course! i’ll give little blurbs for each of them lol

Disney: yeah this was the spring break extra from ttl. idk why it was so boring for me to write, don't think i got past 500 words :( it was a good idea in theory!

Ghost: this was an idea i had for caesar to be like a ghost living in joseph’s head post battle tendency. was going to be my canon fix-it that dealt with their ptsd and stuff

Last Train Home: all the dead jojos hanging out on a train in bruno’s pov. what i intended for this one ended up being explored a little bit in itf, so i don’t super feel the need to finish it. but caesar was really fucking funny and rude in it. he had a landline so that he could talk to joseph. also avdol and kakyoin were playing uno.

Monster AU: joseph was a vampire who stumbled upon a house caesar haunts (as a poltergeist) and they fall in love, two monsters who can’t remember being alive/human. liked this one but don’t think i’ll ever have the energy for it

pirate au: ohhhhh i like this one. giorno gets recruited onto bruno’s pirate ship by pretending he knows medicine, and then apprentices under josuke, becomes fugo’s Main Doctor, and he and bruno conspire for giorno to become captain. if i ever finish this one, it’d be amazing, but idk. maybe if y���all are interested

SBR college au: ahh pretty self explanatory. johnny and diego were childhood rivals/best friends and roommates, and they form a college squad with hp, gyro, and lucy. probably uncover an academia conspiracy and kill valentine or something.

undead realm: dnd au where amnesiac undead bruno works for the king of the undead. takes on a job where he escorts the bucci gang to bargain for his soul back in a horrific case of dramatic irony.
