One thing I found really interesting about this episode is how they mentioned they're preparing for Samhain, and how it is a festival that's going to have an interhouse competition

It caught my attention because I always thought tkdb's storyline was too serious to include actual school festivals in its setting and that the most we would have would be the Gala

But you're telling me there will be a festival...... and obscuary is dressing as butlers..... just like a themed cafe in a school's cultural festival..... Very VERY interesting...

Being an extreme radfem/terf blog sounds miserable

#I think there are a lot of issues that should be discussed and having a blog focusing on that is very valid and good #but to constantly talk about how horrible being a woman is 24/7 #like huh maybe the reason some people don’t want to be women is because they are told how horrible of an experience it is #and that we are doomed to a painful existence and being socially tortured by men #which ok is not completely untrue there is a lot of women’s rights issues everywhere #but doesn’t it get too draining at some point?#the most miserable I’ve been about existing was taking in nothing but that #and don’t get me started on their weirdness about trans stuff #at least there’s like one or two occasional posts about something positive about women #like an important figure and such #but it’s really just a depression hole #or at least it feels like it #I note extreme since radical feminism could be more than just getting mad about trans people and kink #and also I don’t want to incur their wrath lol

Tried searching the word "ads" in my tumblr blog search bar so I could add these to the compilation of horrible ads I've had shoved in my face (and ads that also, have likely been seen by children), but surprise, surprise, nothing came up. According to the search results, I've never posted anything with "ads" in the tags before in my life. Not sure if that's just tumblr being stupid and broken, or if someone who runs this hellscape very subtly nuked those posts. ANYWHO—

Starting a new collection of horrible ads, purely because I'm spiteful and because I don't see how it's ok for ads like these to be allowed ANYWHERE, but heaven forbid someone shares a spicy fic they wrote, or posts drawings of anatomy practice that show too much skin

The werewolf one just sounds really dumb and weird, which. Whatever. Not a crime to be weird, so that one is kinda sorta ok if you squint, but then the other one is literally a woman getting her tit groped by her best friend, as said friend is licking her neck. I didn't get a screenshot of it, but in the same little ad segment as the groping bit, there was also a guy in bdsm gear standing behind a woman who was in a compromising position

A year was not so long after all. He prepared her for the day when he would leave. But when the moment came, he found himself less prepared than she. For the first time in his life, Spock thought about returning from a mission, wondered whether or not he would survive. She had no one else, and that was a disturbing thought.

Back on board the Enterprise, he opened his case to unpack his few belongings and found things not quite as he’d left them. Tucked in at the bottom under all the folded clothes, Saavik had hidden away her knife. Spock stood in the privacy of his cabin turning it in his hand, remembering every word of their good-bye.

i feel like. theres designing a character with certain themes and motifs in mind, and then theres making a gijinka for the water bottle on my nightstand

#me when im the only person on the bus wearing a mask: i should make a furry plaguesona #its hard to explain bc. most of the time i try NOT to give my characters a 'strong' theme like making their whole design around #one thing like apples or even broad stuff like baking or cottagecore.. idk if its partly for flexibility or because i cant imagine them #making it their whole personality. not bc i find it cringe or overblown but more like ive learned to associate design with character depth #i had a cutesy uwu persona for most of highschool because i thought it would make me more. likeable? easy to remember? since #memorable character designs are easy to recognize. and one way of doing that is simplifying it with a theme or symbol so you form an #association. but since im a real person its exhausting keeping up that appearance all the time and denying myself things when they dont #fit my 'aesthetic' or 'theme.' i think ive grown past that bc i just collect stuff because i think it looks cool and dont let myself dwell #on how it might 'fit' with my image. but i cant help feeling bad doing it to my own characters bc it feels like im making them too one #dimensional. despite knowing that theyre not real and design alone doesnt reflect depth i cant help feeling like its wrong #despite that i love seeing motifs because it feels like it reflects the characters soul and paradoxically gives them depth. it makes them #interesting to look at too and honestly its pretty fun combining things that fall under a similar category when designing #i struggle find a balance between those two things #actually this reminds me of noelles christmas theme.. i dont remember her saying anything abt liking christmas despite a lot of #her design and character tying back to it. it makes me wonder if she would have feelings about that or doesnt think abt it too hard #or if its like a matching family shirts situation and shes just going along with it??#maybe i should just do whatever i want with my character designs since theyre not real and im thinking abt it too hard #although. this probably has something to do with deep seated identity issues huh #yapping #oc talk #oc

i am being so brave trying so hard to hold back writing a rant about that 'minimizing narrative noise' comment on totk sage concept art bc its actively flying around in my head like the worlds most annoying fly

Idk if it's bc I'm a pushover or open to a lot of perspectives but generally when a piece is well-written and has nuanced themes I can agree to a lot of takes on it. I find it infinitely fascinating that we all approach media from a different lived experience and attach to different aspects based on that background. That's one of my favorite parts of art in general

#my only apprehensions are more when someone is strongly defending a black or white viewing of something which is truly not often #like believing that harry and kim and cuno going back to the rcm is an undisputable good end #or that shiv is exclusively hurt tom and nothing happened the other way around #in those cases its usually a huh there are some systems here that mayb we havent considered #rambling
