Humberto Ramos ate with this two redesigns.
Obviously inspired by the Raimi movies, but I think it's funny both Norman and Otto had a crisis and went "Okay I want to look cool now."

Telling my art teacher that I want to go as Agent Elrond for Halloween and then she responds “In 2024?!”
(She was a huge Matrix/LOTR fan way back in the day. I once even found her fanfiction.net account with a Neo x Smith songfic with the lyrics of She Loves Me Not by Papa Roach)
#agent smith#hugo weaving#elrond#the matrix#lord of the rings#lotr#halloween#but tbh its not every day you find your teacher’s fanfiction.net account that’s been abandoned since 2006#but let me tell you she was LIVIN IT UP in 2003#technically she's an art teacher but she's upset that the school curriculum doesnm't provide art so she disguises her art lessons as histor#last year we got to do a tim burton art project and I loved it

hello (one of the) resident phannie data analyst(s) here with some parasocial stats on dnp’s movie tastes! following: distribution of dan and phil's ratings overall, movies they each rated 5 stars, their lowest-rated movies, and the similarities + differences in their tastes
(lore moment: yes i am a data analyst in my real job. yes i surprised myself with wanting to do this in my spare time. but then i remembered when we read dracula in college (yes i was an english major) and i graphed like, how many times dracula was referred to as vampire versus monster or something. so i shouldn’t be surprised.
first up, their overall rating patterns and by ~special status~ (i.e., wall-e, kill bill, avatar, lmao, plus big hero 6 for the fun of it)
dan’s rated 304 movies and phil’s rated 305. both of them have mean and median ratings of 4 with min 1 and max 5.
both rated kill bill vols. 1 and 2 a 5. wall-e got a 4.5 from dan and a 4 from phil (phake phans). both gave avatar a 3.5. and big hero 6 3.5 (dan) and 4.5 (phil)
rating distribution:

i did analyses here by genre but i need to fix the output (i’m writing all of these based on the markdown document from my phone on the subway, but i need to fix the outputs and i don’t have my computer. so those are pending but there are other genre analyses that i could do & haven’t yet!)

Thomas Sean Connery was born in the Fountainbridge area of Edinburgh on 25th August, 1930.
Big Tam, as he was affectionately known around Fountainbridge in his youth, well he was Tommy until his teens, when he shot up in height and stature, at one point he entered a bodybuilding contest, he was 6'2 at the time, weighed around 14 stone, had a 48-inch chest, 25-inch thigh, and his arms were 15.25 inches.
His first job was as a milkman with the St Cuthbert’s Co-Operative Society in Edinburgh. I would think he would have delivered the milk on a horse drawn carriage, the stables for these horses was in the are he grew up, were in Grove Street, where I used to live the main offices for St Cuthbert’s still stands round the corner on Fountainbridge.
Connery also played football at junior level for Bonnyrigg Rose, my cousin played for them too for several years.
A few more facts about Sean are he has a tattoo on his arm that state “Scotland Forever” he got when he enrolled in the Merchant Navy, he was discharged from that job due to stomach ulcers, between jobs he was a nude model for art students at Edinburgh College of art, again not to far from Fountainbridge. Other jobs he took up were, a lorry driver, a lifeguard at Portobello swimming baths,a labourer and a coffin polisher!
I think it is interesting Connery never strayed far from Fountainbridge in his younger days, indeed when he decided that acting was a career he was going to pursue, it was the nearby Kings Theatre he got a job helping backstage, he was also competing in bodybuilding competitions at this time and while at an event in London he learned that there were auditions being held for South Pacific, he was picked to appear on the chorus line but as the production toured the country he was making his way up the ladder.
By the time it hit Edinburgh he had the part of Marine Cpl Hamilton Steeves and was understudying two of the juvenile leads, and his salary was raised from £12 to £14–10s a week, when the production was reprised the following year he had the lead role on the tour, taking over from the actor Larry Hagman, who played the part in London’s West End.
Connery never looked back from there and of course the role of James Bond catapulted him to international stardom, Ian Fleming though was against him getting the part initially, he said Sean was “unrefined” and not what he had in mind, Sean soon won him over though and Fleming later admitted he was an “ideal” Bond.
A few of the parts Sean either didn’t get or turned down are Gandalf, in the Lord of the Rings series of films, he said he never understood the books and also wasn’t keen on 18 months of filming in New Zealand. He also turned down the chance to play the role of the Architect in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. Sean was asked to portray King Edward I in Braveheart, but was too busy working on Another film at the time, Patrick McGoohan took the role instead, I’m sort of glad he never played Longshanks.
His 93rd and last film was 2003’s The League of Extraordinary Gentleman - although he officially retired in 2006, although he was temporarily tempted back to do the voice of Sir Billi in the animated adventure comedy of the same name.
Sir Sean Connery passed away in his sleep on 31st October 2020 at his home in the Bahamas, his son said he had been unwell for some time. The official cause of death was pneumonia, heart failure and old age, his death certificate revealed.
In a career spanning over 50 years, Connery earned an Academy Award, multiple Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille and Henrietta Awards, as well as two British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) awards.
I've posted more pics than I normally would, firstly to show that Sean was much more than the first Bond, but also because the Scottish public, had and still have a big connection and love for the big guy.
Sean Connery 25th August 1930 – 31st October 2020.

Random Doctor Who Facts You Might Not Know, Part 25
Josie Day was a companion of the Eighth Doctor. She was a living painting, commissioned to capture the likeness of Lady Josephine, but she was so rich in animae particles that she became alive.
The Valeyard took on the identity of Jack the Ripper. While committing the famous murders, the Valeyard used the Dark Matrix to corrupt the other Doctors.
Ace was almost the sixth Ripper victim.
The Man with the Rosette (or, the Master) gave Scarlette rings to use for her and the Doctor’s wedding. He also sat in on the wedding on the side reserved for the Doctor’s family.
The Fifth Doctor is so scared of spiders that he will freeze in place and make Peri get rid of it.
The Saxon Master thought that the sun on the Mondasian Colony Ship would look the same as the sun in the Teletubbies.
The First and Second Doctors were both colorblind, but the Doctor did not realize this until they became the Third Doctor.
The Eighth Doctor spent a lot of time during the Coronavirus lockdown baking. He eventually managed to make a banana bread that wasn't disgusting. It was quite good actually.
After getting bored of baking, he started making a lot of face masks. He superimposed people's faces on them, so they could tell who each mask belonged to. Very few people accepted them when he offered them.
Once he got bored of that and ran out of other hobbies, he ran away to go live alone in his grounded TARDIS for many months.
The Master once set up a talent show called Make a Star. It was an anagram for aka Master.
The Ninth Doctor was petrified by the Incorporation on Occasus. He tried to regenerate to escape but couldn't. The Incorporation wanted his artron energy to bring back their kind and tortured him for 89 years to do so. Even after he regained the ability to move, he continued to go through the wringer in this story.
In that same story, he got so close to dying that another consciousness - himself as a failsafe on the brink of death - spoke to him.
The laws of probability bend around Time Lords, often tipping odds in their favor.
The politically correct term for a Silurian is an Earth Reptile.
The Sword of Never is a weapon used to execute Time Lord criminals. It renders all regeneration useless.
After one of the destructions of Gallifrey, the Eighth Doctor was dying. He was vomiting black bile, falling unconscious, generally looking like death warmed over, etc. This was only cured when Sabbath ripped his second heart - his connection to his Homeworld - from his body, but the Doctor immediately started screaming when he did this.
The Doctor is known as Karshtakavaar by the Draconians. It means the Oncoming Storm.
Harry has been known to bring the Fourth Doctor jelly babies from the shop because he knows he likes them.
Ace was once betrothed to a Traveller named Jan. The Seventh Doctor sacrificed him to defeat the Hoothi, and Ace's affection for the Doctor turned to so much hatred that she left the TARDIS.
Osgood has several tattoos of the Doctor’s faces.

HELLO, and thanks for waiting so long for me to do this 😭 I literally typed all the movies like a million years ago and just haven't had any time to put together the little analysis blurbs but I'M HERE NOW SO LETS DO IT.
Also sidenote: I am notriously terrible for remembering the full plots of movies (and don't watch a ton of movie in general) so if anything seems off in these analyses (aside from the fact that I tried not to go FULL STEREOTYPE), I would bet it is more of a problem with remembering the movie than it is understanding MBTI, but hey, what do I know lmao
MBTI Types as Movies
INTP: The Matrix
The GOATed movie for the GOATed type, what can I say. LMAO, just jokes, just jokes on both accounts. I mean, they're both great, but you know, I mean no offense. Still, I think this fits well because you spend so much of the movie how things work in the Matrix because the rules of reality start getting wonkier the more they investigate. Ti loves figuring things out and Ne is all about things being new and/or different, so it was an easy pick. Maybe a bit stereotypical, but hey, at least it wasn't Lord of the Rings or Star Wars (also great movies, but come on, it's been said a million times, we gotta shake it up a LITTLE).
ENTP: Jurassic Park
Watch the scene where Dr. Ian Malcom tells everyone "you were so preoccupied with whether or not you could that you didn't stop to think if you should" and TELL me this isn't an ENTP movie lmao. Jurassic park is ALL about how new and interesting of a possibility modern-day dinosaurs could be, and they had the Ti and science to back up their ambitions. And also the tert Fe to decide to make it a theme park I guess? Lmao, it's like, okay, sure, kinda weird, but I GUESS people will like it.
INFP: Scott Pilgrim vs The World
The movie is very Fi portraying Scott's life because you can feel just how everything is so personalized and tailored to his lifestyle and preferences that even things like his band feel like an extension of himself. The same goes for the other characters in the band too; even minor characters have so much individuality with such little screentime, which appears very Fi-dom to me. And also just like, cartoon + anime logic to fight Ramona's evil ex's is such an Ne premise because of how different and sometime random it is - I love it. Sidenote: Scott Pilgrim Takes Off on Netflix is a super good miniseries!
ENFP: Inside Out
A fun and zaney way of expressing your own personified emotions that all interact with each other and are interwoven with your real life struggles and choices? Can that get any more ENFP if it tried? Not to mention that people have taken to creating their OWN versions of their primary emotions, too. Explain to me how Bing Bong could ever exist without a massive super dose of Ne, lmao.
INTJ: Dune
A futuristic sci-fi universe with complex and realistic political unrest, economic corruption, and ecological issues to demonstrate examples of the abuse of power all wrapped up in one big collection is like the epitome of an INTJ and dominant Ni to me. As silly as this might sound, I really did NOT follow this movie super well, even though it SOUNDS like it should be up my alley as an INTP, and that in part lead me to think it might be more of an INTJ movie. It's got a lot of the same ingredients, but you can tell it's just built different because of the massive world-building.
ENTJ: The Truman Show
I would say the premise of staging Truman's entire life with the expectation that it will persist all the way into his old age as a way of capitalizing on it for profit and TV show ratings is a pretty Dom-Te, Aux-Ni, ENTJ kind of thing to do. A BAD ENTJ thing to do, but ENTJ nonetheless. Everything that happened to Truman had an intended purpose, which was to keep audience engagement with the show. I COULD see an argument made for this being an ENFJ thing, but I decided ENTJ because at the end of the day, they cared more about and prioritized the boons to be gained from continuing the show, not necessarily the emotional reactions of Truman, themselves.
INFJ: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Probably my favorite movie of all time (if you couldn't tell, I really like Jim Carrey) has to go to INFJ. This movie really takes you so far into his head, and really captures what it is like to be doing that dom-Ni thing of looking for and assigning symbolic meaning to things (often times other people's thoughts and actions), especially in such a way that can be dangerous, and seems to be a major cause of both main characters' debilitating depession and self-confidece issues. Not to say all INFJs are like that, of course, but a lot of the themes that come up in this movie are great examples of just how wrong things can go with unhealthy Ni-Fe.
ENFJ: Gone Girl
Similar to ENTJ, Gone Girl has some very potent ENFJ vibes, again, also BAD ENFJ vibes, but still ENFJ vibes. The main antagonist really shows off all of the classic techniques for emotional manipulation via Fe, and the seamlessness of it all as she consistently remains one step ahead of the protagonist the entire time really demonstrates the forthought that can come with Ni. Sometimes she is so far ahead of the protagonist, he even has a hard time decifering what she is even planning to do next, or the intended outcome. ENFJs being Fe-doms lends themselve to still be outcome-driven like ENTJs, but here, the intended outcomes are emotionally and socially colored.
ISTP: Good Will Hunting
The ISTP gets all the glory for being aloof, and dangerous to mess with, and that isn't NOT present in his movie, but what they DON'T get enough credit for is their capacity for an impressive intellect. ISTPs are Ti-doms just like INTPs, so it should follow that they have incredibly logical and curious minds that have an aptitude for understanding how things work - that's a big plot point for our protagonist who solves the infamously difficult equation on the chalkboard, only to find out that he isn't stuff academic like everyone EXPECTED him to be. Grounded by his Se, he even mocks students attending the university for spending so much money on their education, when he has learned just as much for free with his library card. Raw intellect with no fluff (and no fucks to give) is ISTP through-and-through.
ESTP: Catch Me If You Can
Read the book for a school project back in the day and loved it. The quick thinking-on-the-feet to be able to bullshit his way through so many different scenarios, pretending to be a pilot so well that they PUT THE GUY IN THE COCKPIT is absolutely wild to me. This might also touch a fair bit on what developed tertiary Fe can get you if you abuse it a bit too much. I could see an argument made for higher Fe placements too, but I attributed a lot of his ability to say the right things and adapt because a lot of times, he did not seem like he had much of a detailed plan going in, which sounds a lot more dom Se to me.
ISFP: Titanic
Instant classic and based on a true story, which I think really appeals to Se (same for ESTP above, actually!), and is a big reason why I picked it. Overall, a pretty introverted and definitely emotional story because it mostly focuses on the developing relationship between the two main characters and, of course, the tragedy, too. It's such a personal story that does a good job of bringing you into the first person perspective of the main character's feelings and experiences from start to finish - it can be a bit visceral, even. I know it's a romance, but I REALLY didn't want to be like "mushy isfp? idk romance i guess", so hopefully this lands well.
ESFP: La La Land
Ahh, La La Land. Similar to the ISFP and Titanic in that it is still a very personal story that zeros in on the emotional experience of the main characters to the relationship and how they feel about it, but with a lot more sensory stimulation, and intoxication - and not necessarily even alcoholic intoxication, but like, infatuation with life experiences that they get to share with each other and assign their personal value to. Also kind of tragedy in it's own way since it doesn't end since they don't end up together, and despite all of the highs and experiences they share, and despite how much they love each other, but they each have their own vested personal interests that they want to achieve even more.
ISTJ: Indiana Jones
Thought Indiana Jones would go to ISTP, did you? Surprised? It's not that it COULDN'T be an ISTP movie, it's just that Jones constantly talking about how much things belong in museums just REALLY screams ISTJ to me. It just seems way more dom Si to be that passionate about preserving artifacts so that you can study them, reference them, compare them, etc. forever and ever. Not to mention he's got that tertiary Fi that gives him a soft spot and a vested interest in protecting those artifacts. He takes the protection of the those artifacts very personally in a way that I wouldn't expect to see from an inferior Fe user like an ISTP.
ESTJ: Men in Black
The only thing separating this movie from just being a straight up FBI movie is the aliens; most everything else is pretty familiar and grounded in reality. They've got their FBI protocols and directives and a clear objective that is their job: contain the aliens. These attributes make it very Te-Si to me because they work in teams to accomplish their goals, and they do their best to stick to their codes and procedures (and ofc they break them sometimes because it's a movie it has to be exciting). Throw in some wacky stuff like aliens to please the ESTJ's tertiary Ne's craving for a little random fun, and you've got the MIBs.
ISFJ: Groundhog day
Constantly reliving the same day over and over again, having the same conversations with the same people, sometimes getting the same results, and sometimes getting different outcomes by making different choices sounds like an ISFJs inferior Ne kind of personal hell, but it does sort of cover most of the ISFJ experience, even if it's in a difficult context. Special shout out to the montage of Bill Murray killing himself like 100 times because he doesn't know how to break the cycle and is tired of having the same conversations with everyone. It cracks me up every time and seems like very tertiary Ti logic to me lmao
ESFJ: Little Women
Loosely based on a true story, period piece that focuses on the protagonists' relationships with each other (many of them sisters), as well as their places in society, also many of which end up growing into very DIFFERENT roles in society so as to contrast them as they age. This is especially interesting (and also Si lmao) when you take note that you see how they all started out on similar life paths as full-blooded siblings growing up in the same home. Great story, very dom-Fe for comparing some many different relationships that interweave and change over time.

I feel like movie parodies reached their peak with Pár pařmenů (Bunch of Ravers/Party-Goers), which is a czech parody of the 1st Lord of the Rings movie done by a group of highschoolers. Most of it was improvised and people quote it to this day.
The plot is basically that the ring is a VIP group ticket to an epic rave party that all the main characters want to go to lol.
Btw I've never seen or read a single LotR or Hobbit piece of media, so this is the first thing I imagine when I hear someone talk about it.
Some of my favourite parts:
Saruman (who is constantly high on helium) complaining to Gandalf about the episode of Teletubbies he was watching prior to their conversation.
Everyone calling the crebain "squirrels".
The elves being obssessed with the matrix.
Gollum being called "baby monkey" and Frodo wanting to adopt him.
A whole scene where the main cast decides that they'll eat their enemies for barbecue.
Aragorn (who is supposedly scared of hobbits) proposing to Frodo (it's sadly not accepted).
Sam and Frodo having something akin to a strangers to lovers side-plot.
It used to be on youtube but got copyright claimed so now it's just a few clips oof
i managed to find it on a (now dead) czech pirating website tho so that's good!

The Scottish Boy by Alex de Campi - 5/5 stars
This book managed to rip my heart out at least 3 times. I loved it. Medieval enemies-to-lovers slow burn; very romantic. Kinda read like fanfiction at times but in a good way. 10/10 would read a follow-up love story about Arundel and Captain Wekena. If you like Captive Prince, give this one a try.
Reforged by Seth Haddon - 4/5 stars
Pretty good bodyguard romantasy. Ironically CS Pacat blurbed this one (another am-I-in-the-matrix moment). The world was interesting and I enjoyed the politics, though they're definitely not as complicated as other SFF politics I've gone feral over (see: Captive Prince, Winter's Orbit, A Memory Called Empire). I ordered the sequel after I finished this.
The Doctor's Date by Heidi Cullinan - 4/5 stars
A Power Unbound by Freya Marske - 5/5 stars
Where do I start? I love, love, LOVE A Marvellous Light. It's one of my favorite books ever. None of the rest of the books in the trilogy could live up to it, really, because it's so good. You'll notice I rated this one 5 stars though, because quite honestly I fell prey to a bit of The Academy Paying The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Its Due syndrome. I did love this book and thought it was better than A Restless Truth (which I still loved!) but part of that is, quite frankly, just due to the fact that I prefer m/m romance to f/f romance.
Anyway. This was such a good finale to the trilogy. I loved that the romance was a giant middle finger to purity cultists. I loved that one of the mains was Italian. I loved finally getting the story of what happened to the Alston twins. One thing I thought was really cool was how, viewed from the outside, you totally get why Edwin is such a loner. I really admire from a writing perspective how Marske pulled that off.
I feel like there's a lot to be said about what Marske was trying to SAY with this book, but I definitely need to reread it first before I can articulate any of it. The purity culture stuff is obvious, but the magic system too. I feel like Jack when he's almost able to connect everything in his mind into a bigger idea, but he can't quite get there.
I've got a special edition from Illumicrate coming, so I'll be rereading it when I have that.
Oh also, this book was the embodiment of all that one tumblr post -
The Guncle by Steven Rowley - 5/5 stars
I saw this in bookstores for years before I finally gave in and bought it. The blurb makes it sound insufferable and twee. Ignore the blurb. This was such a good book about grief and learning how to live again after terrible loss.
I Like Me Better by Robby Weber - 4/5 stars
At last I can stop getting the Lauv song stuck in my head whenever I set eyes on this book (it's stuck in my head as I type this). Pretty standard-issue YA, but it was cute and had a good message.
The Stagsblood King by Gideon E Wood - 4/5 stars
Another book about moving on from grief! This is the second book in a trilogy. When I was trying to determine if I wanted to read on beyond book 1, I scoured the internet for information about what happens in books 2 and 3. Eventually I decided, hell, I enjoyed book 1 well enough, even if what I want to happen in the rest of the trilogy doesn't happen, they're worth reading. SO, to that end, I will tell anyone looking for info that Tel gets romantically involved with a new man in this one, which, eh. I still want him to somehow end up with Vared. It was still quite good though.
In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune - DNF at pg 82
So funnily, we were at the bookstore the day I was about to start reading this, and my wife pointed out Ravensong (also by Klune) to me and said, "Do you have this one?" I made a face and said, "That's an older one of his books and I'm wary of his early work after that horrible Verania series. I don't think I've ever read an author as hit or miss as TJ Klune."
I wrote the above when I was 60 pages in and now I have officially DNFed this. Listen. You know how in Thor: Love and Thunder, Taika Waititi was clearly given free rein to do whatever he wanted, so all of his worst impulses made it to the final cut unchecked? Yeah. That's what this book is like.
Here's my Storygraph review: I see Klune is officially Too Big To Edit now. This book has exactly the same problem that his awful Verania series had—a joke that's funny at first but quickly grows tiresome when it's repeated five times per page. The emphasis on Victor's asexuality was also weird and read like Klune was just super proud of himself for writing an ace character.
Lion's Legacy by LC Rosen - 4.25/5 stars
Queer, YA Indiana Jones, but less #problematic. This book had some eerie similarities to my own archaeology adventure novel(s), which made me wonder half-seriously if I somehow know Lev Rosen? Anyway, I feared this would be very heavy-handed and not nuanced on archaeology's ethical dilemmas, since it's YA and also the current culture is to view said dilemmas as completely black and white with no nuance, but I was pleasantly surprised. It manages to examine that, queerness, and daddy issues, plus has time to be a genuinely fun and exciting adventure story. Highly recommend.
Too White to be Coloured, Too Coloured to be Black by Ismail Lagardien - 4/5 stars
I picked up this memoir in a bookstore at OR Tambo airport in Johannesburg as research for Six Places to Fall in Love, since Percy is coloured. A pretty brutal read, but good, and definitely good research. The author was a photographer and journalist through the most violent years of apartheid.
The Splendid and the Vile by Erik Larson - 5/5 stars
Two nonfiction books in a row?? This is the second book by Erik Larson I've read, the first being the excellent The Devil in the White City. I'm not, in general, all that interested in WWII when it comes to military history, but this book is about the day to day lives of Churchill and the people surrounding him (with brief stops to visit FDR and high-ranking Nazis sprinkled throughout). This is a very, very good book, and I recommend reading it if only as a reminder of the resilience and bravery of ordinary people under terrifying circumstances.
Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh - 5/5 stars
Holy shit. Holy shit is this book good. Imagine the love child of Lost, Person of Interest, and Battlestar Galactica, but queer and with multiverse shenanigans thrown in.
I need everyone to read this book. Now. Yesterday. Get to it.

Count Zero in Shadowrun (1st Edition). Part 1. Introduction & New Rose Hotel
Really, William Gibson was asking for it.
Granted, Count Zero didn’t come out until 1986 and Shadowrun was first published in 1989, but the mystical aspects he built into the sequel to Neuromancer is just begging to be adapted into the “Where Man Meets Magic and Machine" mythos of Shadowrun.
Sez so right on the cover.
Plus, this is the novel that eventually led to the otaku in Shadowrun, so… now we’re even.
In addition, Count Zero also includes a few more Shadowrun staples such as:
Linguasofts and skillsofts in general
Rigging (by connecting cybernetically to a machine)
Megacorp extractions
To be fair, the last example was the focus of the 1984 short story New Rose Hotel, also involving Maas Biolabs, the same corp from Count Zero. And while most people have heard of, if not seen, the Johnny Mnemonic movie, even fewer saw the movie version of New Rose Hotel.
Each of those adaptations had their idiosyncrasies, and each demonstrated the danger of converting a beloved book series into film.
Except Lord of the Rings.
The 1981 short story Johnny Mnemonic was centered around the eponymous data courier and his woman, the quintessential street samurai Molly, who returns for both Neuromancer and the final Sprawl Trilogy novel, Mona Lisa Overdrive. William Gibson even wrote the screenplay, but Hollywood does its own thing. While understandable given the anti-drug DARE-era attitudes in this country, it’s still a shame they had to cut the heroin-addicted cybernetically enhanced dolphin. Instead, we got Dolph Lungren, who has the perfect name to play that character.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/af6c0ea2f49453dc05ddac251b7e05f0/c9b8fe67afd186cc-93/s540x810/650f284de1452501dc372f875cff13daf42375e8.webp)
Instead he had to play second fiddle to Aquaman.
And that’s not even the most quizzical casting choice, given that the film also includes Ice-T and Henry Fucking Rollins.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a46056a5910e82f81330b1a4ef2e6d68/c9b8fe67afd186cc-ae/s400x600/b658fb7f60284a606cf31ed3869d4c1862a08908.jpg)
I'll tear your mind out! I'll burn your soul!
But even the post-Speed pre-Matrix Keanu Reeves couldn’t keep the 1995 movie profitable (box office of $19 million on a budget of $26 million), so it’s still more of a shock that three years later we had New Rose Hotel.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/322b58af052ffc32445829b4679341ba/c9b8fe67afd186cc-c9/s500x750/868377fbaeb8fcf01744a18d3b438de1789900fc.jpg)
To give you an idea of how bad this movie is, its total box office gross was $21,521. About the cost of a 2024 Chevy Trax.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a0228b210f0c77ff7698f080c274b45f/c9b8fe67afd186cc-75/s540x810/d7505f5cd4eef474c1ea8825eb8e9420095a02ee.webp)
It's no Ford Americar.
While I can’t find budget numbers, I can’t imagine it could be profitable since Christopher Walken was seemingly paid in multiple duffel bags of pure uncut cocaine for this leading role.
“Can your character have a cane? It’s not in the script but… Oh you already have one. Okay. Action.”
Co-starring with Walken at this Walken-est is Willem Dafoe, whose performance can only be described as “Done as a result of a hostage negotiation so that he can see his family again,” and Asia Argento, who is Italian and has tits.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/2b8343622d7dc2240baaf16c6dd0b43a/c9b8fe67afd186cc-2b/s540x810/9777c13790341f7d0f62350c23f2b351b292399f.jpg)
Exhibit A. Well, closer to a C.
It is with that background that I approach turning Count Zero into a Shadowrun adventure.

How is a time lord resurrected, such as the master or rassilon and why was this technology used more frequently to resurrect prominent figures
How is a Time Lord resurrected?
🖥️ The Master's Resurrection: The Master was brought back by the Time Lords to fight in the Time War, using a resurrection machine. This handy tech also gave him a shiny new regeneration cycle.
🧙♂️ Rassilon's Resurrection: At the start of the Time War, Rassilon was resurrected by uploading him from the Matrix into Admiral Valerian. Valerian, part of Rassilon's bloodline, didn't exactly sign up for this surprise.
🧪 The Eighth Doctor's Resurrection: The Eighth Doctor got a temporary resurrection from the Sisterhood of Karn using the Elixir of Life. They then offered him a full regeneration to bring him back completely.
🧬 The Master's Resurrection (Part 2): After the Saxon Master was killed, his resurrection involved a ritual using the Master's ring, the Potion of Life, and a biometric imprint. Because why not make it as complicated as possible?
🛡️ Various Low-Key Players: It wasn't just the big names. Many resurrected Time Lord soldiers were sent to the front lines as cannon fodder against the Daleks, using the potions of the Sisterhood of Karn and (presumably) resurrection machines.
Why resurrect prominent figures?
🏹 Strategic Necessity: During the Time War, the Time Lords needed every advantage. Resurrecting skilled figures like the Master gave them an edge.
🏛️ Preserving Key Players: Bringing back important figures helped maintain stability and leadership in Gallifreyan society. Rassilon is the ultimate leader and was almost obliged to return and lead Gallifrey in its time of crisis.
🔢 Getting Numbers Up: In the case of the poor souls who were resurrected as cannon fodder, they were just there to throw at the enemy and make tactical advancements in the war.
🏫 So…
Resurrection technology really came into its own during the war and was all about bringing back people for strategic, symbolic, and practical reasons. The methods are surprisingly consistent, though, which is a nice surprise.

Hi! I was a first-time anon who had asked about the movie theater story you were working on a little while back (I never got to respond but I always like making people happy, and I'm glad I motivated you to continue it bc I love it so much).
But anyways, I wanted to ask this because I was genuinely curious: if each of your OCs had a Letterboxd, what would be their four favorite movies? Some might be bigger movie buffs than others, probably, but for the ones who are obsessed with them, is there a way they would organize their favorites, or do they just go with vibes?
HIYA and welcome back aaaa ;_; MWAH thank you so much!
Emilio: is totally into action movies, especially loves stuff where he can identify with the main hero. Laughs tears when watching movies like Hangover or other bromance comedy typa shit.
Vale: Give him anything sci-fi, horror or thriller and he'll be happy. For example I feel like he'd be obsessed with The Thing. Also probably enjoys stuff like Mad Max.
Luca: MAJOR MOVIE BUFF ALERT. Enjoys watching indie movies, even if they're a total slog. Also loves the classics from the golden age of Hollywood and things like comic adaptions, think of Batman and such. He'd probably be a very active Letterboxd user. I truly feel like he'd watch every movie out there.
Sharon: Hmm I don't really see her watching much movies. I'd figure she'd rather be into documentary typa things.
Aaron: I think he'd watch stuff like The Matrix, The Godfather, and similar movies which are rather hard hitting? Enjoys a good plot twist. Also The Lord of the Rings and such, he'd love adaptions of his fav books. Genres wouldn't matter much to him I feel like, but he'd DEFINITELY cringe at romcoms.
Gina: Something she can cry her heart out to. I'd figure she'd love dramas. Titanic and other tearjerker kinda stuff. And anything Ghibli!!! I'd believe she'd like the animated kinda type of movies a tad more.
Devyn: Hmm, I feel like he'd be a Fight Club and American Psycho typa guy. Prolly always rewatching critically well acclaimed classics. But also does not say no to sillier movies, and sings along to musicals.
Kaia: She's that kinda girl that probably almost exclusively watches horror movies. Has built up a heavy tolerance over years, so nothing is really shocking to her anymore. Yet she still can't be assed to watch another type of movie for once.
Maggie: Regularly watches the most disgusting, goriest splatter movies you can find, and laughs out loud when people die. Besides these, she's totally into sillier, lighthearted movies, like romcoms or stuff like Mean Girls.
// some whining from me + extra explanation under the cut:
...and to be frank, but THIS is one bigger aspect I kinda struggle with assigning to my OC's, only rarely I directly know which movie fits, bc I simply don't know enough ones. I do know what THEY like. Just no very specific examples usually. But generally, I am able to assign their preferred genres or type of movie. But really like. oh man. forgive me. I am the absolute WORST person to ask when it comes to movies because I very rarely watch some?
So here have my vague answers bc with this theme, I legit have to base it just around my general feel for it, cause my movie knowledge barely is developed. Nor do I know anything about Letterboxd, but I might update some answers once I remember specific movies I felt like were right assigning to? But so far please have these ones ok!
#oc facts#emilio#vale#luca#sharon#aaron#gina#devyn#kaia#maggie#c#i hope these gave some insight teehee!

I have been tagged by @madamtrashbat in a "gifs for your 10 favorite movies" post game. I love movies and I love talking about my favorite movies. This is in no particular order (numbered just to keep count) and subject to change. My answers may be different in 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, you get it.
Labyrinth - Essential viewing for teenagers. I did a cosplay runway as Sarah once. It's in my DNA.
2. Mad Max Fury Road - Perfect movie. Still feels fresh and unique nearly 10 years on.
3. The Little Mermaid - Also in my DNA. Childhood favorite. Can you tell by my URL?
4. Rogue One - One of the best pieces Star Wars media. It's got the sauce.
5. Terminator 2 - Perfect movie 11/10 no notes
6. The Lord of the Rings - Which one? Pick any of the trilogy.
7. Howl's Moving Castle - Vibes are immaculate. Soundtrack is gorgeous as is the animation. Romance is perfect.
8. Arrival - THIS MOVE. My god what a film. I want to erase this movie from my mind and watch it again for the first time.
9. Dune - Denis strikes again. I love Dune. It's such a thrilling ride. It has so much to say about power, colonialism, and religious extremism.
10. The Matrix - Another childhood favorite. The Matrix was the 1st rated R movie I ever saw and I was blown away. Insane action and cool sci-fi concepts.
I wanna see your faves! (only if you want to of course) @elderparaiah @dag--dag @areslindragon @audiovisualrecall @leatherwingz @hawkeshep @poptartish @memphis-mafia-mama

Today marks four yeasr since we lost the legendary actor Sean Connery.
Born Thomas Sean Connery, in the Fountainbridge area of Edinburgh, Big Tam, he was known growing or as Tommy.
Other jobs he took up were, a lorry driver, a lifeguard at Portobello swimming baths, a labourer and a coffin polisher!
Sean was asked to portray King Edward I in Braveheart, but was too busy working on Another film at the time, Patrick McGoohan took the role instead.
His 93rd and last film was 2003’s The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Same here my final week watch habits ruined my letterboxd wrapped b/c I got hugo weaving and peter jackson b/c i rewatched lord of the rings and the matrix in the last week of 2024.
Hahaha worth it though. But yeah letterboxd wrapped is pretty much ruined every single year because of such rewatches, it’s impossible (unless you watch films for your job idk) to watch enough films to offset them otherwise
