The word for what they were is pygopagus — pygo meaning ass and pagus meaning joined.

Pete tells everyone that they were born sharing an ass, often with a grin and an offer to see the scar with thumbs looped into his oversized belt buckle. Jules always corrects him with a sharp, we did not share an ass. We were born joined at the pelvis and shared six feet of intestine. Then he pinches Pete hard enough on the love handle to make him squawk.

(Maverick used to be a conjoined twin).
