X-Men (1963) [issues #64-#66]

Back at the apartment, the mini Cerebro is already going off. Looking at the screen, Beast hopes that they're a friendly mutant as it's registering as possibly the most powerful mutant they've ever encounter.

Sunfire 1st Appearance. After a ceremony at the United Nations, Sunfire confronts Mr. Yashida by calling him a traitor, then destroying a newly build statue.

The X-Men come in just in time. Beast jumps on him, not realizing Sunfire could still fly with him on his back.

Sunfire then zaps him in the face.

Beast now blinded and falling, Angel comes in fast, catching him.

Iceman then throws ice discs at Sunfire while Angel places Beast down before flying back up to go get Sunfire but he takes off.

Back at the apartment Jean and Scott were waiting for them as they heard about it on the radio while they were out shopping.

Hank's face badly burned as if he got a bad sunburn, Jean suggests he stays back as the rest will go find Sunfire.

Sunfires origin.

With Cerebro picking up the signal, Angel's unsure about following a diplomatic vehicle but Cyclops insists, saying that they'll be in mental contact the whole time. They end up following the car to JFK airport.

Angel grabs the bottom of the plane. Iceman and Marvel Girl notice he's too close to jet's intake. It starts then sucking Angel in like a vacuum and he can't stop. An ice barrier quickly forms between him and the plane while Marvel Girl stops Angel in place and brings him back with her TK.

One pilot says he swears he saw someone with wings out in the sky but the other pilot just laughs at him.

At the nations capital Shiro is due to give a speech before congress. Cyclops worries about it starting an international fallout.

Shiro's uncle tells his nephew that now is the time, the time for revenge from the Japanese (for Hiroshima).

Shiro's father now angry at his son for even saying such things.

Jean and Scott spot them walking by the capital building but agree to wait until Sunfire makes the first move.

In a dressing room, Shiro's father comes bursting in seeing that what he feared is true, his son the dog they call Sunfire.

With conflicting ideals Sunfire hits his father. His uncle tells him he'll take care of his father and that Sunfire now has to do what they came there to do.

In the air now, Sunfire thinks his father is just confused and that he knows his uncle is always right as he constantly reminds him of what the Americans did.

Sunfire getting ready to blast the the building Angel comes from behind him, Sunfire blasts at Angel but misses, however he singed Angels wings pretty bad. Before Sunfire can hit him again an ice shield blocks it but now Angel's out of the fight.

Mad that Iceman block one of his blasts again he aims at him. Though his ice shield can protect him, the heat is making the ice melt into scolding hot steam. Iceman not sure on how long he's able to take the heat.

Now just Marvel Girl and Cyclops, he tells her to TK lift him to capital dome then tend to Angel.

Sunfire declaring he will get revenge for what they did to his country. Heat for heat. However, Cyclops zaps with his blasts. Cyclops powers are barely cancelling out Sunfires.

Cylcops begins to think his plan is working but Sunfire is too fast and launches himself at Cyclops. If he was to drop Cyclops it'll be the end for him.

Marvel Girl TK pulls Sunfire's head back, away from Cyclops. With him slightly distracted Marvel Girl gently lowers Cyclops down to the ground.

Shiro's father now out a on balcony of the building, calls Shiro out saying that if wants to burn the building he'll have to burn it with him in it. Sunfire admits that he do not wish to harm his father. That his uncle Tomo shown him that the Americans are their foes.

His father argues that his brother Tomo is sick and feeding the him with embers of a long-dead war. Telling Sunfire to renounce his uncles views or blast the building which would then be a nightmare for two nations. Sunfire, now confused, doesn't know what which view to choose but his father urges him to make it now.

His uncle makes the decision for him as he shoots at Sunfire. However, just at the same Sunfire's father slips and falls off the balcony and Sunfire goes to catch him. The shot that was for Sunfire now hits his father.

Going to his side and taking off his mask, Shiro tells his father that this not what he meant to do. His father understands. Shiro realizes his mistake in believing in his uncle but realizing it too late.

The X-Men watching from afar, decide to leave him be to grief.

Finally coming back to the mansion, Alex and Lorna has some exiting news and tells them to change into their costumes right away.

Overtired and on short fuses some of the fellas get mad with the juniors ordering them around. Jean tries to calm everyone down.

With Alex annoyed he tells Lorna to convince to come along. She then uses a huge pipe she pulls from the ground to pull them in. However, Beast is now really agitated and bends the pipe.

They argue to just listen to them and Alex calls out Scott for not acting as a good leader. Scott tells him he made his point and they'll assemble in the computer room.

Now all meeting together, Angel asks what's on the screen behind Alex.

Alex the explains that the alien Z'Nox world is passing the orbit of Saturn and within 24 hours it'll intercept Earth. That just last night a Z'Nox craft clashing on Earth near the South Magneto Pole and that the X-Men need to stop them.

The X-Men are skeptical. Angel argues that Alex isn't that smart to come up with such a plan.

Marvel Girl then starts to cry and panicked Cyclops ask whats wrong. She says "I understand now..! I can stop... pretending. These past months.. it's been so hard!"

Alex agrees that he is not smart enough to come up with that plan like that and that only one man can come up with something like that. A man named Charles Xavier.

Xavier rolls in and contacts his old students telepathically and Iceman yells out for him cool it with the telepathy as it feels like he's boiling his brain.

Cyclops asks Marvel Girl if she knew the whole time. She says that she did know but had to keep it a secret.

Xavier explains that he ordered Jean to keep silent about it. As he had a task in one which permitted no interruption. These past few months he's actually been secluded in the sub-basement of the mansion this whole time.

The X-Men can't believe it but Xavier then explains how it all started. On one faithful day the Changling sneaks into the mansion to talk to Xavier. Explaining he's goner and maybe as six months left to live and wanted to do something to make them count. Xavier feeling like he's been speaking the truth and asks Changling to change into him.

Though the X-Men are tired from their battles Xavier says he's gonna train them harder than he ever did before. He teaches them individuality to better hone their skills.

SHIELD intervenes first which Xavier didn't expect and now he says the X-Men need to act immediately.

The X-Men, along with Alex and Lorna, board a rocket and head into the space to defeat the Z'Nox. As they fire missiles at the X-Men oncoming rocket there's no success as their ship keeps coming closer.

Crashing into the ship they leave theirs to go explore when they're already met with a scary big monster. Cyclops lets loose and gives it all that he got.

One Z'Nox tells the leader that the X-Men have disabled their guardian beast. The leader then order a platoon team but they're easily beaten by the X-Men.

Xavier uses his powers to scan all of Earth, filtering out the people he viewed bad or corrupt, collecting the compassionate and empathic minds, becoming one with Xavier.

With millions in his minds he also connects with the X-Men.

Marvel Girl receives Xavier's churning thought patterns, directs them at Alex who boosts them with his cosmic rays and trasmites them to his brothers head where they are then translated into laser-like optic blasts aimed and the menacing sky while Iceman strives to cool Cyclops down from the terrific heat.

Mind sensitives on Earth, doing their part as more and more power goes through Cyclops.

The pain in the Z'Nox's head is beyond imagining. Not able to take the assault anymore they abandon Earth and it's solar system at max speed. It speeds out like capricious comet.

All working together Xavier tells everyone can now relax. Cyclops starts to black out, Marvel Girl and Iceman take him back to the ship then head back home.

Xavier then releases all the other minds he was connected to throughout the planet suddenly falls out of his chair. Lorna worries that in saving the world, perhaps even the universe it cost Xavier his life.

Alex comforts Lorna but Iceman throws ice between them. Getting mad, telling Alex to keep his paws off his girl. Alex argues back asking if Iceman even asked Lorna to be his 'girl' and that was just trying to comfort her.

Cyclops gets mad and zaps between them to stop them from fighting like a couple of high school romeos and there's no time for that. Lorna also agreeing.

They decide to use a machine on Xavier to try to project his thoughts and so he can tell them what they should do. It's faint but Xavier tells them to look for the Hulk, before it's too late.

Confused. Marvel Girl then tries to use her new telepathic powers on Xavier. Probing his mind all she can see are images of the Hulk. Cyclops has Alex and Lorna stay with Xavier as the five of them go looking for the Hulk but Iceman also offers to stay behind with Lorna and Alex.

From the radio they hear that the Hulk is in Los Vegas and once they get there it isn't too hard to spot him. Angel attacks first but is quickly knocked down. Beast now running in, he's also quickly hit away by the Hulk.

Cyclops yells that they just to talk to them, they don't want to fight, but the Hulk doesn't wanna hear it as it always ends up being a trick. Charging towards Marvel Girl with a lamp post Cyclops hits him with his optic beams but it doesn't stop the Hulk, they're barely even slowing him down. Marvel Girl then tries to stop him with her TK but the Hulk keeps coming closer. She applies more pressure and it knocks him down.

The X-Men crowding around him the Hulk as he transforms back into Dr. Banner. They explain that they're the X-Men and that they only have a few questions for him.

Though Dr. Banner is confused, needs to rest and doesn't recall a man named Charles Xavier. The X-Men tell him that they have such little time. As Iceman turns around, it seems the US army are behind them.

They demand the Hulk but one solider comments it's just crummy M, and that if they help Dr. Banner escape they're dead men.

Cyclops tries to explain to the Major that they're not there to interfere. As Xavier's name pops up again Dr. Banner starts to remember.

Dr. Banner remembers! As brilliant scientist they use to exchanged research with each other on Gamma Rays as a treatment for mental exhaustion and that Dr. Banner had built a devices based on their theories and it's back at his lab.

The Major orders his men to fire anyway.

Transforming back into the Hulk, he flips some tanks over before giving a warning that if anyone should follow they'll end up the tanks before jumping away.

With the army distracted with the Hulk, the X-Men run back to their ship to try to find him again.

Just on coincidence they quickly find him. The Hulk spots the ship and by the time the X-Men land and get out of their ship, the Hulk is standing atop a cliff ready to throw a huge boulder at them.

Angel flies in first again but the Hulk ignores hims and throws the boulder at the three below. Cyclops breaks it with his optic beams while Marvel Girl protects from any rock fragments.

Following his own plan, Beast climbs the cliff before the Hulk and charges at him from behind, kicking him off the cliff.

Causing a huge rock slide and burying the Hulk in thousands of pounds of rock Beast starts to have existential crisis but Hulk bursts through saying that nothing can kill the Hulk!

Behind the Hulk it seems to be a secret lab, perhaps Dr. Banners secret lab, however with the mention of the name Banner the Hulk gets angry again.

Cyclops says they'll cover while Angel flies through the lab to see if he can find the right device to help with Xavier's current condition.

Smashing the ground Marvel Girl and Cyclops begin to fall through the new crack in the ground. Beast grabs them just in time as he tangles of the rope ladder from their ship. At the same time Angel comes flying with what he thinks they're looking for hoping the Hulk won't follow.

The Hulk doesn't follow, as all the Hulk wants is to be left alone.

They press the devices button and it feeds gamma-rays impulses to a dormant brain. Xavier's eyes begin to open and tries to speak. Congratulating his X-Men for deciphering the only clue he could summon to give them.

Xavier now needs bed rest but they'll still be evil mutants out there in the world but Cyclops assures him that they'll save with his help. Xavier has hope for as long as there people like the X-Men.

X-Men (1963) [issues #60-#63]

Judge Chalmers refuses to leave with the X-Men. Placing the medallion back on Trask as it'll help him with his state of shock and hopefully remove the memories of the incident.

The X-Men then head back to NYC, bringing Alex to an old associate of Xavier's, Dr. Karl Lykos. Offering to drop off Lorna first. She refuses and asks if she can just stay with the X-Men.

Scott and Jean bring Alex to Dr. Lykos. They offer to stay in the waiting room but Dr. Lykos insists that he must work under absolute privacy and tells them to come back for him much later.

As they arrive to the mansion, Cyclops finds it to be too quiet and begins to check around. Opening the door he finds...

The X-Men training in the Danger Room. Iceman tries to show off trying to impress Lorna, but Beast and Angel humble him fast. Jean makes a comment to Lorna about her being Bobby's 'girl'. Lorna then states she's nobody's 'girl'. Then they prank the boys by using their invisible powers to play tricks on them, releasing various obstacles.

Dr. Karl Lykos origin.

When Dr. Lykos worked with Xavier, he wanted to find mutants and help train them while Dr. Lykos had ulterior movies. Mutants have more energy for him to absorb.

Taking energy from Alex he begins to feel like he's taken too much even though he lets go of the machine, his body still changes. Changes into Sauron.

Back at the mansion they hear on the TV that a being with wings has been spotted flying around. Warren offers to go check it out but Scott scolds him saying they need to lie low for a bit. With ruffled feathers Angel argues back and goes into another room, slamming the door behind him.

Angel then quickly comes back out with his "Avenging Angel" outfit and flies out from the mansion. The X-Men decide they have go and get him back.

Angel doesn't make it very far before he spots Sauron. Getting cocky in his skills, Sauron was able to hypnotize Angel.

Now hypnotized Angel begins to hallucinate and starts seeing monsters. Attacking them and then realizing he's just going though them, he now knows it's just an illusion.

Angel going through them, he comments on how he wished Cyclops could see him now. Sauron laughs and Angel realizes Sauron is actually real. Repeat of Saurons's origin.

Sauron tries to lure Angel with him but he suddenly gets zapped by Cyclops, the rest of the X-Men now being there.

Marvel Girl tries zapping Sauron with mental bombardments but she ends up makeing eye contact with him and she then starts to also see illusions.

Distracted and boasting about his hypnotism skills Angel socks Sauron in the face. Sauron grabs Angel with his talons, Beast now hitting Sauron saving his friend. Iceman tries to ice him but Sauron easily breaks free.

Sauron declares this fight is boring and now tries to leave.

Back at his office an unconscious Alex lays, his eyelids fluttering. With Alex starting to wake up Sauron's power begins to diminish.

As Angel swoops in him in trying to get Sauron under the bridge, he sees him in mid transition. With the last of his powers he hypothesizes Angel to help him escape. The X-Men then see Angel flying off with Karl (Sauron) which leaves them very confused.

Once back at his office to get more supply from Alex, and also telling Angel he will not remember this encounter. Coming through the window Karl hears a voice and coming through in the room, walking out he sees Tanya.

The X-Men without Angel and in their civies (civilian clothes) they run to Dr. Karl Lykos' office. As they walk in, Tanya's father comes in and argues with Karl, always saying that he's not good enough for his daughter, taking her as they leave.

Back at the mansion the team are confused as to what happened with Warren. With the mention of the name Lykos Angel goes to attack Beast but he knocks him out.

The team then changes into the costumes. They leave Alex and Lorna the files Xavier had on Dr. Lykos to look through as they go out to bring him there to maybe help Angel (whose now knocked out and tied up).

Iceman warns Alex that Lorna his "his chick" Lorna tells them she's nobody's property but her own (we love an independent women) and it's not the time to talk about that.

Later on as Lorna and Alex do their research she finds that when Xavier was working with Lykos he discovered that Lykos' is something called a "non-mutant variant"

Lorna realizes Alex fell asleep before hearing a noise behind her. It's revealed to be Lykos and he drains the energy from Lorna now turning back into Sauron and knocking her out.

Now as Sauron he goes for Tanya's father, breaking through the window. They both realize that it's actually Karl before Beast and the rest of the X-Men attack him. Saving them both just in time.

Realizing what he could have done Sauron then leaves. Heading for the place where it all start. The X-Men ask Tanya if she knows where he' would be headed to. She lies and says she doesn't.

Flying more north to his cabin in Tierra Del Fuego. In the cabin, now back as Karl, he decides to just wait there to die. Having no energy to steal and becoming Sauron again.

A voice calls out for him, looking out he sees Tanya running towards the cabin. He tells her to get back, he's starts thinking of all the energy she must have before realizing what he's thinking of and he runs from her to avoid hurting her.

Karl then slips off the cliffs edge. Tanya panicked tries to reach for him but is stopped by an invisible shield Marvel Girl made to keep her from falling off too. They then begin comforting and consoling her.

Back at the mansion, Alex informs a waking up Angel as to what happened to him. Learning that it was Sauron he heads to Lykos' office. Tanya's upset father tries to attack Angel, implying she went after Lykos'.

At the office Angel finds an old journal that tells him the tale of Lyko's origin and heads out to Tierra Del Fuego. He finds Tanya at the cabin where she tells him Lykos' is dead after falling over the cliff and that the X-Men are currently looking for his body.

As he goes down and through a chasm. Being tired from the flight and still feeling the effects of Sauron's hypnosis, he's caught off guard when he suddenly gets clawed by a pterodactyl. He then plummets down until he then feels sudden warm arm. Instinctively and in desperation he tries to flap his wings but it becomes too late and he hits the ground.

A being named Amphibius then finds the fallen Angel and shows his master the "Creator"

The Creator figures Angel must have fallen through the chasm just like he did once before. Checking his vital signs he declares Angel to be dead. Though dead the Creator tells his servant to bring the body along.

In another place and miles away the X-Men are busy dealing with their own dinosaurs, not even aware of Angel's arrival or condition. While Cyclops is attacking he gets grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground by Ka-Zar.

Now knowing where they're at and starts asking him for explanations but he just tells them to be quiet. Iceman makes a joke but it annoys and angers Ka-Zar and he whacks me. Seeing Iceman getting hit, Beast then hits Ka-Zar before just getting knocked down by him as well where Zabu growls at him.

Saying he must finish his business alone he and Zabu run away. Following him the X-Men can see what he seems to be doing and why he wanted them to be quiet.

From a tree Ka-Zar sees the Swamp Savages taking another person from the Water People. Sensing something isn't right with the Swamp Savages leader he attacks. However he gets easily beaten by the leaders mind powers.

Though Ka-Zar said it wasn't any of their business Cyclops tells the team that he's making it their business and they attack in trying to save Ka-Zar.

Somewhere else in the Savage Land, the Creator has put Angel in a chamber that will rejuvenate the faint flicker of life he sensed in Angel. His mutates cheer their Creator on but he tells them to be quiet and just watch.

Angel's eyelids begin to flicker and now fully waking up. The Creator and his mutates cheer for the machine working. Angel is very confused.

As the Creator begins to try to explain himself to Angel, a savage land mutate comes running in, tattered and beaten he explains that four others attacked. Knowing it already could be the other X-Men.

Judging by his tone, Angel comments on how the Creator's speaks of them as if they're he enemies. Starting to think he's on the shady side. The Creator explaining he has vital work to do in killing Ka-Zar and the X-Men

Angel stops him, feeling grateful for him saving his life. If the Creator can prove he's on the level, Angel offered his help him with Ka-Zar and the X-Men.

Back in a different place in the jungle, Ka-Zar thanks the X-Men but tells them that they must leave. They ask if it's a Civil War but Ka-Zar senses it mores than just that. Ka-Zar runs ahead as the X-Men follow close behind.

Explaining that when the Piper plays the music that it only leads to death and destruction.

Running through some geysers the X-Men are then confronted by a pre-historic water dinosaur/monster. Ka-Zar and Zabu keep running ahead. As the X-Men battle the dinosaur, Ka-Zar finds and grabs the Piper, killing him.

When the music stops the dinosaur stops attacking the X-Men and goes back into the water,

Back at the Creator's headquarters, Angel asks him if he's been searching mutants out like a stone-age Professor X but the Creator says he's not familiar with that name. The Creator then explains what he's been doing here, making the mutates for protection from Ka-Zar while he works.

As Angel leaves, the Creator begins to laughs to himself. Now telling his mutates that Angel can delay the others, giving him the time they need. Time for him to become the master of the entire planet.

Amphibius asks if the Creator thinks Angel suspects anything, but the Creator tells him it would be nearly impossible as Angel has only ever seen him with his signature colours on. Walking into another room, he places his hand on an iconic red and purple helmet.

In another spot in the jungle the X-Men and Ka-Zar spot Angel in the sky. Marvel Girl assumes it's Angel but then they remember that they left Angel back home and in a total different costume.

Not listening to the X-Men, Ka-Zar whacks Angel with a tree, punching him as he's going down. The X-Men yell for Ka-Zar to stop, running towards to the Angel. Angel's fine and he explains his story to the rest of his teammates,

Still chasing after Ka-Zar he gets hit by Gaza. Amphibius boasts about how Angel gave them enough time for them to plan an attack. They attack Ka-Zar first before Beast coming in to help.

Angel begins to feel guilty. Realizing though the Creator saved his life, he tried to get him to kill his friends and the Angel plans to make him pay.

He flies back to the Creators headquarters but doesn't spot anyone right away but hears voices from around the corner. He then begins to hid and listen to their conversation.

Hearing what he was saying, Angel comes charging in anger. "The Creator" then reveals himself to be Magneto. Angel thinks it's impossible since they seen him "die" back at his island a few months ago.

Magneto explains that it was what he wanted them to see as he knew he couldn't take on both the X-Men and the Avengers.

Falling into the Savage Land, Magneto vowed to make it his own. Starting with the Savage Land, then later the surface world. Magneto then points at something to show Angel.

Knocking down all the guards, the X-Man and Ka-Zar charge into the fortress. Meeting with a mutate who sends wolves at them. Ka-Zar then sends Zabu after them which scares the wolves into running away.

Brainchild tells Ampihibius the best thing he can do to defeat them. Rubble then begins to fall on them, they use their powers to stop from being buried. Beast then grabs Amphibius' ankle

Beast threatens Amphibius to tell them to direct them to his "Creator" and he does, as he believes the Creator can destroy them anyway.

The doors swings open and it reveals it to be Magneto this whole time. Now displaying his newest newborn mutate, Lorelei. From her singing the X-Men and Ka-Zar are now spellbound.

However it didn't work on Marvel Girl and she yells at Magneto for always talking about killing. He tells her didn't miss her on purpose and how he wants her by his side as he conquers the world. Resist him and he would kill her or join him on his side as they can rule side by side. Marvel Girl yells no as she TK throws a table at him.

Magneto shots at the table, he tells her she made a mistake but she sends a torch at him before he leaves with his jet-pack.

With Marvel Girl's trying to hit him with mental forays he easily dodges them and quickly corners her.

Now having Marvel Girl corned Magneto boasts, until a zap from Cyclops destroys his weapon. Marvel Girl used her TK to move and operate Cyclops' visor. Having his beams destroy Magneto's machinery.

Magneto tries to use his magnetism but is still too weak. In the crumbling machinery Magneto falls beneath. The X-Men then run out of the place before it catches fire.

The Savage Land Mutates then begin to turn back into their native spices. Cyclops hopes they'll be happier being back to their old normal self. Ka-Zar asks "Will they? Who could be happier.. to lose vast powers which set them apart from other men?" Cyclops then replies with "Did you say... who? Offhand, Ka-Zar, I can think of at least five people without even trying."

X-Men (1963) [issues #57-#59]

Lorna, alone in her new Manhattan apartment when sentinels suddenly come bursting in.

Back in Egypt, Alex, standing in rubble explains how he escaped from the chamber.

In desperation he used the cosmic rays the Pharaoh said he had. Using it he ends destroying the temple in trying to free himself. While he's telling the X-Men to keep back, the local authorities arrive. Cyclops tries to explain but is cut off.

No longer the Monolith or the Pharaoh, Professor Abdol tells the local authorities that it was the one standing in the rubble (Alex) who caused all this.

Cyclops tries to correct them in whose in the wrong in this situation but because Professor Abdol is so respected in his work and in the community the locals believe him and threaten to arrest the X-Men for even doubting Professor Abdul.

In an attempt in trying to arrest Alex, his power unleashes again.

The X-Men protect the locals his blast and while they were busy with that, Alex runs away.

Now angry about Alex getting away, Cyclops lets out his full power at the locals for distracting them and letting Alex go. They're not seriously injured but only with some bumps and bruises, but now Cyclops is now out of energy.

Hiding himself in a cave entrance, Alex is having existential crisis and panic attack as he realizes what it's like to be a mutant, to be scared of their powers, of themselves, when a sentinel sudden shows up in front of him.

While in the ship, looking for Alex, they call Lorna from their ship to see if she can check Cerebro for them to help look, but when they see her apartment in shambles on the screen and Lorna missing. Iceman then has a panic attack.

Needing to know where she is immediately the X-Men split up with Iceman and Beast head back to the states, and Angel, Cyclops and Marvel Girl staying in Egypt to look for Alex.

Two policemen are already at the apartment when the two teens get there, automatically assume Iceman and Beast are the culprits and try arresting them but Iceman has no patience and freezes their guns.

The police now agitated, one of them throws a chair towards them. It hits Beast and he falls out from the window, however Iceman quickly makes an ice pole to slow Beasts descent then they leave on his ice slide to Scott's place nearby.

Picking Scott's apartment lock, Iceman sits down while Beast flips through the TV channels for any news of Lorna. Noticing the word mutant, Beast tunes into the channel where the son of Bolivar Trask, Larry Trask declaring mutants are menaces who killed his father and that he'll continue his father's work with the sentinels.

A sentinel then crashes into the apartment and tries to take them. The TV plays in the background as they fight for their lives. Larry saying how his versions are new and improved from his fathers design. Helping Beast get free, Iceman then tells him to get out of there, to go find Lorna as he deals with the sentinel.

Beast feels guilty for leaving Iceman behind as Beast he's the oldest and Bobby's the youngest.

Now on the street Hank starts to take his costume off, when he hears silence. Now looking up in the sky, he sees the sentinel fly off with Iceman in hand.

Hank makes a report back to Scott in Egypt. Angel now outraged says he's going back home to find Iceman. Jean tells him to just wait a few hours and they can all go home together, but he says no and starts his long trip home.

At Larry's lab, he's on a call with Judge Chalmers and he tells Trask he's having doubts of taking his side so quickly. Trask tells him he'll release and have the mutant talk to the reporters after he renders him harmless.

Hanging up, Trask tells his sentinel to release Iceman from his chamber. He automatically jumps out towards Trask in trying to attack him for capturing him.

Trask scoffs and explains that the steam in the chamber he put him in was designed to rob him of his mutant powers and he was in there for four hours. He then has the sentinel throw un-powered Iceman in a cell.

As he's thrown on to floor, someone he doesn't recognize calls his name. Looking up he realizes its Alex in a black suit. Alex explains that Trask gave him the suit and even gave him a code name, Havok. He then asks him who the green-haired chick is,

Iceman rushes to Lorna's side. Still explaining, Alex explains how his costume just measures his energy output and let him cool down without wrecking the place.

Alex also attempts he made a deal with Trask. Before Iceman can get angry, Lorna says he did it for her sake. He gave in so Trask would let her go.

While they argue with each other, a sentinel takes Lorna. Seeing that Trask hasn't kept his word by leaving Lorna alone, Alex then says he's always one to keep his word as he blasts and wrecks the sentinel. Trask then knocks Alex down with a remote.

Lorna tells him not to fight as he could die. Alex says he can't cause then the Living Monolith would rise again. Trask then laughs at them as he tells them that the sentinels got him.

Flying in the sky, two sentinels are chasing after Angel. Being so close but being so tired the sentinels end up catching him in a net.

Even though Scott and Jean are in a plane, the sentinels with Warren fly by. One asks if they should get them too but the other says they were only ordered to capture one so they move on.

In a shelter miles away, a sentinel crashes in on Mesmero and Magneto. Mesmero tries to hold the sentinel back but Magneto runs. As he catches up with him, Magneto collapses into thousands of little mental pieces. Turns out this "Magneto" was a robot.

A sentinel then picks Mesmero up by the cape as he looks devastated and defeated over fact that the real Magneto never really his ally and that he served a robot for months.

Trask tells his sentinel to bring him while he greets Judge Chalmers. The Judge still feels unsure that ALL mutants are menaces. While Trask gets riled up about mutants, he shows the judge on the screen of Hank, Scott and Jean making their way over.

Trask tells Judge Chalmers about his medallion.

Still going on, a shrieking noise suddenly stops him. Covering his ears he yells "What IS it?" His sentinel tells him it's Banshee. It explains he surrendered in Ireland without a fight, until now. The sentinels then hit him with two other frequencies and it knocks him out.

Now knowing for sure that mutants are menaces, Trask orders his sentinels to kill all the mutants they've captured. Judge Chalmers having seeing enough how all this, tries to stop Trask and pulls his medallion off.

The sentinels then say to prepare to execute all mutants in vicinity. A confused Trask tells them to stop, demanding they listen to him. The sentinel tells him he's not longer their leader as he forfeited his medallion he lost his leadership title and his right to live.

The sentinel tells Trask that he's the mutant presence they detect in the room which they are programmed to destroy.

Beast, Cyclops and Marvel Girl flying and finding all the missing mutants, indicating they're right on top of them. Beast believes to be a trap but they jump out anyway.

As they're falling Marvel Girl says she can't TK carry both Cyclops and Beast. Cyclops tells her to just focus on the two of them and let Hank keep falling.

Cyclops tells Marvel Girl "Now!" but she's not listening as she's still watching Beast plummet to the Earth. At the very last second she finally hears him, telling her to project a levitational field under Beast.

Beast then bounces off and doesn't fall to his death. She apologizes and Cyclops says "later!"

Trask still struggles in the sentinels hand asking why they keep calling him a mutant. Judge Chalmers then tells him that the medallion use to negate his power of clairvoyance.

A sentinel gasses then Trask and goes to put him with the other mutants that captured.

On screen a sentinel shows Judge Chalmers the of other sentinels capturing other mutants. Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Toad, Unus, Blob, and Mastermind.

Beast, Cyclops, and Marvel Girl are climbing up the cliff and sneaking into the complex, already walking in they're met with a sentinel.

Cyclops tells Marvel Girl to help Beast out but she rarely has have enough energy and wasn't in time. The sentinel ends up swating Beast away. Beast ends up fine.

Getting by the sentinels they then hear an announcement saying the ship containing Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Blob are in are arriving first.

Instead of their plan of running through the complex looking for Iceman, they decided to save and free the other three first. When a sentinel comes back to grab their prisoners, its not them. It's the the three X-Men wearing the others clothes.

They then destroy the sentinel before more come walking in.

Waking up from a dream of total destruction of mutants, Trask realizes he's in a tube, now remembering that though he thinks it's impossible, he is a mutant with the power clairvoyance.

Judge Chalmers has no idea on what to do to save the captured mutants. With his eyes, Trask tries to point to something for Judge Chalmers to use. Noticing his eye movements Judge Chalmers looks to see a gun on the table.

Not sure on what to do with the gun Trask was eyeing, Trask is now looking at Alex. Thinking Trask wants him to kill Alex. Judge Chalmers says he won't do it.

Only a few yards away the X-Men are still running through the complex being chased by sentinels.

Based on their clothing, the sentinels think it's Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver even though it's actually Marvel Girl and Cyclops. Beast, dressed as Toad, distracts the sentinels and tells the other two to run to help the others.

Marvel Girl doesn't feel good about leaving Beast behind but Cyclops tells her to help him with the two sentinels guarding the doors to the prisoners.

Running into the room Cyclops sees Judge Chalmers shooting the tube Alex is in. The sentinels tells him that it's useless and that the tubes keep his cosmic rays in. Saying he'll deal with Judge Chalmers later, it now focuses on the mutant, Cyclops running in.

As the sentinel blasts at Cyclops, Judge Chalmers jumps in front of him and takes the blast. The sentinel then panics over injuring a human. As they're distracted, Cyclops though almost exhausted, he blasts at Alex's tube.

Now out and seeing a sentinel behind Cyclops. In wanting to save his brother, Alex blasts at the sentinel.

The sentinels are tending to Judge Chalmers, still panicking over harming a human. Barely still able to talk, Judge Chalmers tells Cyclops to defeat the sentinels with logic. Cyclops asking what he's talking about while Alex is saying he isn't feeling too good, feeling like he has too much energy.

Cyclops then realizes what Judge Chalmers was trying to say. He then starts to ask the sentinel a question while Alex is struggling in the corner.

Alex, scared he'll destroyed everything and everyone around him, he runs away. Cyclops yells for him to stop as he's running near the delicate control panel. Cyclops runs after him as there's an explosion.

#2 sentinel orders the rest of the sentinels to him to answer the question Cyclops asked, telling Judge Chalmers he will be okay but they need to leave now.

To answer Cyclops question the sentinels want to seek out the source of mutant-inducing radiation. The sun. They all fly into the sun.

Cyclops admitting he just took a gamble on using their logic against themselves. Beast and Marvel Girl catching up with him, they hear Alex yelling for his brother underneath some rubble.

He's alive but in a state of shock. They then lift to rubble off of him.

Definitely needing a doctor, Cyclops calls an old acquaintance of Xavier's.

Dr. Karl Lykos 1st appearance. In another place, answering the call from the students in the middle of an experiment, he tells them that he'll be waiting for Alex.

X-Men (1963) [issues #53-#56]

A being called Blastaar has been trapped in the negative space and now is craving combat and going stir-crazy.

At the mansion, Marvel Girl tries one of Xavier's machines. A machine that can transmute her own matter into radio energy. If mastered, she can then radio her essence into deep space.

Cyclops is rightfully worried as Marvel Girl is using herself as the test subject to such a powerful machine. Marvel Girl argues back that no lab animal has the mental skills that she has to even withstand it.

Hooked up to the machine Marvel Girl starts to feel sudden bursts of energy before it overwhelms her and knocks her down. An over-protective Cyclops runs to her side and luckily she was only in a little shock.

Cyclops then yells to Beast to turn off the machine. He says he's trying but the fuse is getting hotter than an inferno, soaking up every drop of energy from their atomic generator.

Beast is about to rip apart the machine himself when he sees a human-like figure coming through. Blastaar is now free once again!

Beast tries to attack but gets blasted. Marvel Girl then sends out a mental call to Angel and Iceman who were upstairs.

Cyclops places Marvel Girl gently on the floor as the only way to get her to safety is to blast his way past through Blastaar.

Angel and Iceman come in just in time. Blastaar then uses blasters to propel him like a rocket and attacks Angel in the air. Cyclops precisely angles his beam and it successfully hits Blastaar.

Marvel Girl now tending to Beast asks Iceman to help, once conscious again, Marvel Girl comes up with an idea. She has Iceman build some ice mannequins and she'll use her TK to get them to move and attack Blastaar.

Trying to get away from the ice mannequins that are attacking him, Blastaar goes through the wall and lands by Xavier's machine. The ice melts into water onto the machine. The wild energy from Xavier's machine mixed with Iceman's ice/turned water causes an electrical shock.

Marvel Girl feels guilt for having to kill him but Cyclops reminds her that he was a being of pure evil and would have no problem killing them if they let him live.

Alex Summers 1st Appearance. Even though he never told the team about him they accompany Scott to his little brother's graduation. Scott is feeling extremely proud of his little brother, graduating with great grades and athletics. Scott knows his brother is also a mutant but doesn't think Alex is aware of it yet.

While going change Alex gets grabbed and gassed by people serving the pharaoh. Eventually wondering why Alex was taking so long Scott and the team go to check and he's gone. Jean then tries to pick up mind patterns of the last people who were in the room.

Living Pharaoh 1st Appearance. At a museum with Alex on a table in front of him, the Living Pharaoh gets ready to stab Alex when a zaps hits it out his hand. The X-Men arrived just in time.

Getting beat and needing to retreat, the Pharaoh drops a smoke bomb while he sneaks away to press a button to release more of his warriors. Angel, Beast and Iceman take care of them while Cyclops is in energy battle with the Pharaoh.

Marvel Girl tries to attack the Pharaoh mentally but he sends it back to her causing the place to tremor. The warriors leave and Cyclops says to Beast "We'll get them, chum! But first, I'm gonna to burn those chains of my brothers wrists." Alex is then very confused.

Cyclops suddenly gets flustered in trying to think of where to even start. Alex tells him "What's the matter? You afraid I'm going to be ashamed of being the kid brother of the leader of the X-Men! Cyclops or Scott, you're still the greatest!" Cyclops doesn't get to answer as they hear a noise coming.

The Pharaoh has returned and attacks the brothers, causing them to black out. When Cyclops comes to, two security guards are standing over him, with one say he can't believe that he has to arrest Cyclops for murder. They show him at the Pharaoh's down cold just a few feet over. With Alex on his mind, he knocks the guards out to goes looking.

Back at the mansion, the four hear on the radio that Cyclops is a wanted fugitive and is being hunted down for two brutal crimes. They hurry to go find Cyclops before the cops can.

Walking down a hidden cave and following a light into a spot where he can't believe his eyes. The Pharaoh!

B stories are Angel's origins.

The Pharaoh explains that's what he wanted them to see then declaring that Cyclops will serve him in his march to conquest. Cyclops rejects the idea and the Pharaoh attacks but misses.

In their ship, Marvel Girl can faintly hear Cyclops thoughts patterns. Enough though the shock of mental contact made him lose his footing, he knows now that the X-Men are on their way. He keeps battling the Pharaoh but gets knocked out and Marvel Girl loses contact.

At JFK airport the Pharaoh's warriors, now in more civilized clothing, check in their luggage, Alex in a sarcophagus and Cyclops in a box. Dumping Cyclops out of the box once that they're on the plane. They placed a mask on him that adheres to his visor and is impossible for him to take off.

In their ship Marvel Girl finds Cyclops thought patterns again and says he's in a plane. Approaching the plane, the warriors blast them with some kind of rays making them crash. Iceman and Angel manage to slow it down enough so they don't crash into the water.

The Pharaoh has taken both brothers to the ancient pyramids of Egypt. He then leaves Cyclops to himself as the Pharaoh presses a button and the room starts to fill up with water. Still worrying about Alex, Cyclops tries to remember where to warriors put down the sarcophagus.

Once finding it, Cyclops with his crazy helmet on starts hitting his head against it, trying to free Alex. Once out Alex goes to help Cyclops get the helmet off. Within a few minutes both brothers are running down the hall beating down the warriors in trying to escape.

Now outside, the Pharaoh also runs out saying that it should be him that sends them back to their ancestors. Suddenly he freezes and can't move then he starts raising. Angel starts to pull up the Pharaoh up by his cape with help from Marvel Girls TK. Angel whirls him around and throws him on top of the pyramid.

The rest of the X-Men help out with knocking down the Pharaoh's warriors. With Alex holding his own in fighting, Cyclops is thankful that he doesn't have a power like his.

The Pharaoh, atop of the pyramid realizes that they're both brothers and mutants. In wanting to destroy them both he stands with his weapon of Ankh when it shatters in his hands. It was Alex.

He seen the Pharaoh being menacing and just gestured as a reflex and blasted him off the pyramid. As Angel catches him, the Pharaoh tells his warriors to flee until he calls for them again. Angel asks "What about Alex?" and Alex says "What about me?" they then tell him he's a mutant.

Angel then spots an archaeological evacuation site. Once there Alex begins to panic about his newly found revelation. With Angel not seeing anyone else around, Marvel Girl suddenly tells them to duck as big bolt comes from inside the tomb. It still knocks them down but with the early warning some are starting to quickly get back up.

The Pharaoh tells his warriors to never mind over the X-Men, as it's Alex that concerns him. The warriors are able to knock the X-Men men out again and take Alex in the X-Men's ship. Angel quickly gets up and follows behind. Still not in the best shape they easily shot him out of the sky.

Cyclops rushes to Marvel Girl's side, trying to wake her as she was the closest to the blast. She comes to feeling very weak. Even though she feels exhausted she telepathically searches for Angel.

She makes contact and Angel tells her he's fine even though it looked close for a second. He's been flying near ground level. He then tells her he spots another temple exacting looking like the one he was just at miles away.

Since the Pharaoh's powers and Alex's are from cosmic rays, as Alex's mutation manifests the Pharaoh's power weakens. Talking to Alex in the tomb the Pharaoh tells him he can't have his powers be taken. The Pharaoh then seals Alex in a chamber and it absorbs the all cosmic rays from Alex and into the Pharaoh.

Bursting through the massive stone the Pharaoh has become a giant. Grabbing the flying Angel in his hand, he corrects him and says he's now called the Living Monolith. Before he monologues, Cyclops zaps him with a beam which makes him let go of Angel.

Marvel Girl's able to freeze him and Beast knocks him over.

In the chamber, Alex still doesn't really understands whats going on but he knows if he stays in there he'll quickly run out of oxygen. He starts to concentrate and starts to feel how he felt the first time.

When Beast knocked the Pharaoh over he fell very close to Marvel Girl, as he stands again he now grabs Marvel Girl in his hand. Though bragging about his victory he actually grows weaker, letting Marvel Girl go and Angel catches her.

The Monolith becomes normal sized again and collapsed. At the same time the temple rumbles and also collapses. Cyclops panics as Alex was still in the temple. Almost starting to grief, Beast spots someone standing in the debris, it's Alex. They run towards him but he warns them not to come any closer. Alex now has all the power and he can't control it.

X-Men (1963) [issues #49 -#52]

Angel comes back to mansion feeling sentimental that once a place he called home is so barren and empty. He suddenly hears a ticking which he thinks is weird since they shut everything down before they all left.

He finds it to be coming from Cerebro and he telepathically calls Jean and she contacts Scott too. She tries contacting Hank and Bobby but she's having a hard time as they're sky diving.

Mesmero 1st Appearance. In a mansion in San Francisco Mesmero declares he's foreseen a destiny that was gifted by his great leader, Magneto. He powers a machine Magneto made that calls for latent mutants. Mesmero then tells his goons go to the streets and prevent X-Men coming as they might've noticed his call.

Lorna Dane 1st Appearance. Walking on the sidewalk, she seems to be in a trance and mindlessly tries to walk across the street where she gets close to getting hit by a car. Bobby notices, uses his ice under feet her and she slips into him. She asks what happened and she seems to be 1200 miles away from home. Introducing herself, Lorna Dane. Bobby offers her help and she says she's in no condition to refuse.

Though mad about Bobby bringing her home, they continue to have their meeting while she's asleep in the bedroom. All but Hank go to go find what made Cerebro go off, he stays to continue on his miniature portable Cerebro while also keeping an eye on Lorna.

With their borrow ship from the Avengers, the four of them find Mesmero's goons and begin to attack. They were able to knock them all down but one shot at Angel before getting knocked out.

Angel lays on the floor not moving. The X-Men check on him and he seems to be okay.

Back at the apartment, Beast finishes building then tests his portable Cerebro only for it to go off right away and that someone is coming close. He turns out and it's Lorna. Fresh from the shower, her hair is now green. She confesses she was born with it and always dyed it to avoid any attention.

When the team comes back to the apartment they all conclude Lorna's obviously a latent mutant. Cyclops assumes Magneto is behind it all, Lorna now scared has no idea what they're talking about.

Even though he supposedly died the last time they seen Magneto they want to go check it out anyway. Lorna, panicked and not wanting to be alone she asks for Bobby. Beast makes an excuse and tells her Iceman can protect her just the same.

As all the X-men but one reach their destination. However, Mesmero and his goons actually attack the apartment. He using his powers on Iceman and stops him. Lorna screams but Mesmero explains that she has nothing to fear as they all bow at her feet.

Though hypnotized Lorna can feel that they're traveling and she gets enclosed in coffin-like box. Once at Mesmero's lair his goons hook Lorna up to a machine that awaken her latent powers. The other four X-Men find the lair and begin to break in.

Marvel Girl hearing a mental distress call from Iceman but can't pinpoint his location, she telepathically tells the boys to lose so they can get captured and hopefully taken to where Iceman is. They're then blasted with some sort of knock out gas.

Mesmero shows Iceman on a huge screen, Lorna transforming in the machine. Iceman worries it'll change her personality and she'll be like the other evil mutants. With a sound of crackling and a blinding light. The figure now walks out.

Mesmero then declares Lorna is Magneto's daughter, that she has royalty flowing their her veins. She says she now understands the strange stirrings in her soul. The X-Men now feeling defeated that there's now two Magneto's.

Marvel Girl helps Iceman break out his hypnotic bond and he's able to break from his shackles. Mesmero then tells Lorna, as daughter of Magneto, to attack the people responsible for his death.

She does unleash her power, but at Mesmero's goons instead, not the X-Men. Releasing so much all at once she faints, only be caught by Angel.

A sleet of metal is then pulled under the others feet, knocking them over. Knowing only one person who has the power to do that.

A mysterious figure comes in from the shadows and it's Magneto.

Iceman is angry and taking this whole thing more personally, starts yelling that Magneto's taking a sweet kid and turning her into something of evil. The X-Men are unsure about straight up attacking Magneto at first but the youngest convinces them so Cyclops punches Magneto.

Magneto then sends Mesmero and his goons to attack the X-Men in his name. Iceman sees Lorna and slides over to save her as she was about to be caught between the them (X-Men) and Magneto.

At this point it's obvious that Iceman has a crush on Lorna. Though she does not know this man made of ice, she oddly feels safe in his arms.

Beast yells at Iceman to pay attention, Iceman then freezes the goons to the floor as then X-Men go knock them down as more goons run into the room.

Magneto quickly gets the upper end while facing Cyclops. As he attempts to kill the X-Men with various metal objects. Mesmero's goons link arms to stop the X-Men from escaping. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Cyclops starts blasting the room by Magneto, telling him he's to bring the house down around him.

The X-Men are able to escape and they find a ship. Some members are feeling bad for leaving Lorna behind while the others tell them she made her bed and that they need to leave now.

Hours later, back at their San Francisco headquarters, Scott recommends Bobby to stay behind next time as he's in no shape to fight. Bobby argues back saying he's fine, just a little tired then asking what Scott's really trying to say. Jean pipes in and says that asking that is like calling Scott is liar, which is not.

Scott then admits that he was lying. Telling Bobby he's too emotionally involved and that there might be a conflict of interest.

Hank holds Scott back while Warren holds Bobby back as they threaten each other with a fight. Jean scolds them. Scott stops, saying she's right but Bobby is still too wired and leaves, slamming the door behind him.

Scott says it's better to let him go cool off, as long as he doesn't mess up his plan. Beast then inquires about this secret plan.

Days later in the wastelands the earth begins to crumble. A figure appears, declaring that there's no one who can match his power, not even Magneto. His name, Erik the Red.

Mesmero and his goons try to capture him but fails. Erik then says he can bring Masmero's underground nest down down around his ears. With one zap to machinery, it causes a wild chain reaction. Even too much for him Mesmero tries to run but he and his goons are trapped.

Lorna is feeling conflicted. If Magneto is her father then she has an obligation to him but she also knows Iceman wasn't lying when he told her all the crazy and evil things has Magneto's done.

Confronting Erik the Red herself, he says he just wants to talk. Saying that Magneto is actually his inspiration and wishes to join them. Confused, she consults with Magneto first, he says they have no choice at this point as he lost the use of his legs from the last fight with the X-Men.

With a telepathic call from Cyclops, Marvel Girl alerts Angel and Beast that Operation Twilight has begun and to all meet at their rendezvous.

Reluctantly Mesmero accepts Erik the Red's conditions. Erik then comments to Lorna that he feels Mesmero isn't completely devoted to their leader Magneto and that it's probably best to keep a close eye on him.

Lorna starts to feel that Erik the Red is different from the others and isn't radiating any evil aura. Magneto says he doesn't trust either but trusts in his daughters judgment.

The X-Men, all but Cyclops and Iceman, are able to sneak into the complex. Walking through the hall they see a figure walking towards them. Erik the Red.

Marvel Girl then runs up and hugs him. Erik the Red has been Cyclops this entire time. They then quickly make a trap for Mesmero and his goons.

However, the foot steps they heard and the person catch in their trap is actually Iceman and it knocks him out. Mesmero then comes in saying he has seen the trap Erik the Red set for him and that he's actually Cyclops. Beast then carries Iceman away to safety.

The goons hold down Angel as Mesmero mentally attacks him. Beast then comes back kicking Mesmero but is also quickly mentally attacked.

Erik/Cyclops then destroys their energy cannon before they use it on them while Marvel Girl now battles Mesmero.

Feeling like she has no choice she goes to face the X-Men for father. That's when Iceman comes running and tells her it's been all a trick. She calls him Iceman before asking that he's also Bobby.

He tells her it's a long story but he has other news. He's found the real truth about her parents and that Magneto isn't her real father.

Her extended family thinking she would be better off from knowing the truth about her real parents and have it hanging over her so they put her up for adaption.

Magneto took advantage of her not knowing her real parents.

With the X-Men surrounded and Angel captured with a gun to his head. Mesmero and his goons tell them they'll shoot if they don't leave. Just at that second, the goons are invisibly pulled away from Angel.

Magneto asks if she's gone mad to go against her own father, she answers that she has no father and that he lied to her to try and steal her mutant powers.

Magneto's able to make his escape and a message starts to play to the X-Men saying they have 60 seconds before the place blows. Beast thinks its a bluff but Marvel Girl insists that it's not and she can feel that he set mines all around the entire complex.

They're able to successfully escape with Lorna. She comes back to the mansion with them. Nursing Bobby back to health.

X-Men (1963) [issues #45-#48] [avengers issue #53]

The B stories continue with Iceman's origin.

Still bound in their cell, Cyclops begins to worry about Angel as he should have been back with the Avengers by now. He begins to think of escape and since hasn't use his optic beams in hours, he opens his eyes and uses his beams at full force. It takes a lot out of him but he does it!

With his eyes free he can now help the others escape.

Running through the complex looking for his teammates he finds Marvel Girl first but she's unconscious. Assuming she's in some sort of trance he runs to find the other two.

Sneaking around Toad sees the escaped Cyclops and hops away to tell Magneto. Cyclops now seeing him, runs after him. Not knowing where Toad went, he just begins to walk around the complex.

Quicksilver hearing footsteps and assuming its Toad he positions himself to get back at Toad for always being annoying. Seeing that it's Cyclops instead, he jumps in front of him saying he just wants to talk.

Quicksilver explains that since they're both mutants, almost brothers in a sense, they shouldn't be fighting among each other. That Magneto proposed the idea of a separate country just for mutants so they can live their lives normal without getting harassed on the streets for just being a mutant.

Cyclops still thinks Quicksilver is wrong but he's making a lot of sense. He tells him that there's no way he would be part of anything that involves Magneto. When Cyclops declines. Quicksilver attacks and temporary blinds him.

Hearing yelling from Magneto and Toad, Scarlet Witch walks out to see whats going on and sees her brother fighting Cyclops on one of the screens. Magneto tells her that there's no need to worry as it looks like Quicksilver is winning.

Cyclops thinking he can't take another punch he opens his visor and hopes for the best. It bounced off something and hit Quicksilver, Cyclops then gets up oping he hasn't killed him.

Cyclops finds him still breathing and props him up to try to revive him so he can get the information to stop Magneto. A sudden loud voice then threatens Cyclops, looking back, he sees that it's the Avengers.

Cyclops not knowing if they're the real deal or not or robots of Magnetos but he takes no chances when Hawkeye tells him to keep his hands off his visor. He zaps the arrow out of the bow with one his glove buttons, Black Panther then jumps him.

With his head spinning and paranoid it's all a trick by Magneto, he then zaps Black Panther off and the ledge Goliath was standing on before running away.

A flashback to when Angel finally reaches NYC and the Avengers headquarters. Checking out what's making their alarm going off they find a trapped Angel. He says he'll explain the situation but they gotta leave now.

In the ship, the Wasp notices something under Angels wings, a tracking device. Angel says he had no clue that was there but the Avengers don't believe him. Hawkeye launches a camera arrow and they can see Cyclops with Quicksilver. Thinking it's suspicious they go check it out, leaving Angel tied up on the boat.

On their way to find Magneto, the Avengers fight among themselves. Amused his plan is working out, watching from another room, Magneto planned on having Angel lure the Avengers over so he can get the X-Men to kill them.

Cyclops has now found the rest of his team when they're hit abruptly with extreme pain in their minds. Shaking it off as quickly as it came, Cyclops remembers their mission. To kill the Avengers.

Magneto used a machine to mess with their minds and do what he wants. Now finding the Avengers, the X-Men attack.

The Avengers are starting to win. In another room Magneto's yelling about someone cutting off his commands at the crucial moment and wanting to find that person. Angel then appears in the doorway.

Breaking through the walls Goliath explains their plan. They had guessed the bug on Angel was a plant and they tied his hands loosely. Magneto attacks them then trying to run away and denote the fortress. Toad beginning to question his loyalty to Magneto as he gets nothing but abuse. Toad then pulls the switch and there's only a minute to get out before the place blows.

Toad tries to escape taking Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver with him. Magneto tries to fly up but the ship is not made out of metal and Magneto can barely hold on with one hand. Sick of Magneto's harsh treatment Toad steps on Magneto's hand making him slip onto the pointy the cliff rocks.

During the weeks of Xavier's death, the team has been too busy to really let it sink in and grief. An old friend of Xavier's from the FBI Agent Duncan asks to talk to them. They bring him to the school and Foggy Nelson is there, saying he's there to read them Xavier's will.

Xavier leaves his finances and estate to Scott, the school and any other personal belongings to all five of them.

In the Crimson Cosmos where they trapped the Juggernaut, a bright light wraps around him and he finds himself in Xavier's lab. Boasting how he knew Xavier would free him and how nothing can stop him now. Planning to take down his precious X-Men first.

Feeling a tremor, Cyclops, Beast and Angel go check it out only to find the Juggernaut wreaking everything in the lab. Cyclops says they feared he would come back but he asks Cain "Why at a time like this? And now?" Cain tells "For the last time I might add! Because this time I'll finish him for good."

Cyclops asks if he really doesn't know, Cain tells him he's talking in circles. Angel pipes up and tells him that Cyclops is trying to say that Xavier died. Cain yells that they're lying, trying to trick him, and for even saying that he'll kill them. The Juggernaut then goes back to destroying equipment and throwing it at the X-Men.

Cain still not believing them tells them he's going to find and destroy Xavier. He barges through the wall into a room where Agent Duncan, yelling for Xavier. Duncan tells him he died and asks what he did with the X-Men, before Cain throws him out the window.

Now outside, Cain finds Xavier's grave stone. Angel charges at him but gets knocked down. Marvel Girl tries her telepathy and attacks Cain's mind. Out of the pain, worse than Xaviers, he then grabs Angel off the ground and threatens her that if she doesn't stop he'll crush the Angel right before her eyes.

Suddenly, the Juggernaut seems to start vanishing back into the Crimson Cosmos. Agent Duncan finds the X-Men and suggests they should split up as there's too many evil mutants out there for all five of them to be in one spot. Forcing them to disband and leave the school.

When he leaves the team talks it out. Beast argues he has no right to tell them where to live or what to do with their lives. As deputy leader Cyclops agrees with Agent Duncan and asks them to all pack their things. The X-Men is no longer a team.

Hank and Bobby somberly walk down the sidewalk to go meet with their dates, Vera and Zelda. The show they wanted to see was already sold out by the time they get there.

Now at a cafe, a guy starts to hassle Hank, Bobby then uses his ice to turn off the power, now in the dark Hank then throws him and Bobby puts ice on the floor for the others to fall.

They leave the cafe with the girls. They check the theater and they actually had a cancellation for four. Settling in their seats Bobby realizes who it is on the stage. The Warlock, now calling himself Maha Yogi. They leave as he hypothesizes the crowd, changing into their costumes before jumping on stage and confronting Maha Yogi.

Maha Yogi throws what he calls the killer-gem at Iceman but it bounces off his ice shield and into the power circuits. Now overwhelmed and overstimulated, Maha Yogi's hold on crowd releases. Iceman and Beast keep bugging him with loud noises and he gives up.

In another part of town, Jean becomes a model. On a shoot, one of the owners creeps on Jean when Scott comes in, an hour early.

After the other girls flock to Scott, Jean leads him away. Jean asks what he has going on and he says radio. They go to the studio and he excitedly tells her all about the cool equipment.

Watching from the window the two of them see two workers loading something off a truck when they get attacked by three robots. They run to quickly change then outside the building. The robots say they're under the supremacy of Computo, master of cybertrons.

With her new telepathic powers, Marvel Girl is able to pick up the robots like homing signal. They follow it and end up at worksite, thinking things look off they then find a tunnel. Going further down they now face an army of robots and quickly takes them all down.

Turns out it was Quasimodo. Now defeated, he leaves while pulling a switch that's letting water rush in from the river. Marvel Girl uses her telekinesis to levitate over the water and get them both out.

Now back outside, Cyclops seals the passage way to prevent any more flooding.

X-Men (1963) [issues #40-#44]

The boys are training and messing around in the Danger Room when Xavier calls them for a meeting. He had just learned that Frankenstein's Monster has been found, believing that his creator may have been a mutant but the monster himself is an android.

Found in some ice, Frankenstein's Monster was found and brought to a museum in New York. A Dr. Powell unfreezes him and he lives again. With the museum closed for the day, Xavier was denied access by the security guard but Jean using her TK knocks him out. Hearing crashing, the X-Men run in and are face-to-face Frankenstein's Monster. He easily beats them before escaping.

Angel searches and finds him on freighter. Knocking some crew members down the X-Men find the Captain and ask if they can search the ship. Beast's able to run the monster out onto the deck but the X-Men get easily beaten again.

The monster then targets Xavier, his psychic bolts barely keeping the monster away. Iceman then ices him and Frankenstein's Monster blows up. His origin then explained by Xavier.

In the newspaper the next day it says the Captain was at a loss as to what happened that cause the explosion. Xavier made him and his crew forget about them before them before they left.

While Hank and Bobby are on double dates with Vera and Zelda, the subway suddenly stops. The boys go sneak out and get onto the tracks. A strange being Beast calls "grotesque." The being then takes that as his name "Grotesk." There's a quick altercation before he leaves and into some cave. Grotesk's origin.

At the mansion Cyclops, Angel and Marvel Girl are in the Danger Room and Xavier is more snippy than usual, yelling at them that they're not doing enough, not fast enough. Hank and Bobby come rushing in and Xavier then yells at them for being out of costume in the Danger Room and tells them no city trips for a whole month.

Xavier asks if Marvel Girl if she will accompany him. In private, she asks him why he won't just tell the boys and he says no, that they must know nothing. He then asks Marvel Girl if she is ready to continue with their experiments. Confused and worried about Xavier's behavior Hank almost forgets to them about Grotesk.

Somewhere else, a Dr. Hunt is presenting his earth tremor machine. It bothers Grotesk deep down in the subway. His colleagues say it's too dangerous and never to be used.

The boys still Xavier is acting strange, he suddenly comes in and tells the boys to go check it out, but not Marvel Girl. In the tunnels Beast and Cyclops bust a way into the cave. The place is huge, a whole alien civilization that lies in desolate decay and looking abandoned for years.

They find Grotesk's lair, but aren't able to contact Xavier due to too much radiation down there to use their wrist-radios. At this time Grotesk breaks into the lab that has the machie causes the tremors. Declaring that when he finds the weapon he seeks he shall obliterate the planet.

Back at the mansion Angel and Iceman tell Marvel Girl whats going on. He starts to argues with her cause she wants to help but she tells him she can't. Xavier then comes into the room saying the other two will be fine. Angel then argues with him saying he doesn't even know who Xavier is anymore and is going back to Beast and Cyclops no matter what. Xavier then orders them to stay and have Marvel Girl prevent them from leaving.

Underground Beast and Cyclops find Grotesk and both try to stop him in his plans, but he escapes again. When the two are back at the mansion, Angel tells them what Marvel Girl did. Thinking there must have been some reason for it Cyclops tells Marvel Girl he wants to speak to Xavier but she says he can't.

Grotesk breaks into the lab and after the scientist finds out Grotesk is out for revenge he takes off his disguise and it's Xavier. He fails to stop Grotesk from using the machine, the X-Men arriving just in time to help.

Marvel Girl tries to turn the machine off but Grotesk jammed the lever. Xavier then tells her to bombard the machine mentally. It starts to slow down but not fast enough for Xavier.

In the battle with Grotesk, he starts whirling Angel around over his head so fast that it would be deadly if he was to hit a wall. Cyclops and Beast go catch him while Grotesk goes for Xavier with a blow that almost knocks him out. Grotesk then rips at the machine and it explodes.

They find Xavier on the floor after the explosion. He tells them he was too close to the explosion and that they must hear his last order. Explaining he was hard on them cause he knew he was already dying of an illness with no cure. Taking his final breath in Angel's arms.

Throughout the issues the B story was Cyclops origin.

Magneto hearing the news of the passing of Xavier, says he regrets that it was someone else and not him to kill Xavier. He decides now is the best time to attack the X-Men.

The students attend Xavier's funeral. Quicksilver impulsively runs over but hides away so they don't see him but they spot him anyway and run over. Scott tells them they just want to talk but Quicksilver runs away thinking they were going to capture him. Thinking how Magneto was right in how you can't trust anyone but him, and that his only place is with the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

Seeing it on his screen, Magneto gets angry that Quicksilver went to the funereal without his permission.

Back at the mansion, Jean presses a button that plays a message from Xavier he told them to press if he were to ever pass. On the screen Xavier explains he's been secretly working with Jean with telepathy so that his mental powers won't be entirely lost. He believes that Magneto has returned to Earth and is planning something. Passing the responsibility of saving the world from evil mutants to his students.

With his powers stronger as ever. Magneto wrecked a cargo ship to make his impregnable fortress, letting the crew go so they can warn the world about Magneto.

Quicksilver was able to make it back without being seen but Toad spots him and hops away to tattle. Magneto comes rushing in arguing with Quicksilver. Magneto reminds him that he's the one who saved his sister from an angry crowd and the one who can cure her.

Walking outside, Magneto sees a ship going by and starts pulling it towards him, not knowing it was bait from the X-Men. With the ship in the air the X-Men make their way to the island by Iceman's ice slide. Magneto, even though feeling annoyed to face the X-Men now, declares them doomed by facing him.

Now inside the fortress they imminently get attacked by Magneto and the Brotherhood, having them right where he wants them Magneto turns on a switch, turning the floor into an electric field that then knocks out the X-Men.

Toad places them all in their own personalized bonds so they can't use their powers to break free. Later on in another room, Toad tells Magneto that he heard Quicksilver arguing with the X-Men. Magneto goes to check saying he should have dealt with them the way he wanted in the first place.

Angel trying to figure out a way out his cage sees a flashlight just a little out of reach. Successfully grabbing it he presses the button and it starts to disintegrate the bars. He then tries to free Cyclops but the leader tells him to head to the Avengers HQ for help.

Angel zooms passed Magneto, Toad and Quicksilver. Magneto tells Quicksilver to chase after him (he can apparently fly at this time in the comics). Not having the same agility or even much time in the sky Quicksilver fails in catching Angel.

Trying to fly back to NYC to get the Avengers Angel quickly gets exhausted from flying through a storm. He decides to rest on a rock that was poking out just for a bit.

As he lays there the rock then rises up and is now an island. Looking around he sees an entrance to a cave. He quickly checks it out and it seems to be HYDRA's old island complex that Nick Fury just destroyed a few months ago. Talking to himself he says he's going to contact SHIELD but a being named Red Raven swoops down at him.

After a quick fight, they stop and Red Raven says he can explain, Angel lends a ear. He explains that he's from a lost race and claimed the cave to be their fortress to protect the secrets of their former existence, then tells the story of his people.

Angel urges him to wake up the other birdmans but Red Raven zaps Angel, knocking him out. He decides to drown his island with all the history of his people with him, leaving Angel alive, drifting on a piece of wood in the ocean. Taking to the sky again, Angel heads to the Avengers.

This issue's B story starts Iceman's origin.

Mutant/Non-Mutant Foe Factor Three (1966)

A person calling himself "Mutant Master" declares he's going to start World War III. An event that will cause the humans to die and for the mutants to rule the planet.

He first tries to have Orge and Banshee kidnap Xavier but they fail both times. The X-Men end up freeing Banshee from a kill switch Orge had on him.

Kidnapping Xavier and eventually Banshee, Mutant Master holds them captive as he has Factor Three fight the X-Men.

The X-Men are able to stop his plans. Turns out Mutant Master was an alien trying to make the planet unlivable for any race.

X-Men (1963) [issues #35-#39]

Banshee has be searching the mountains and valleys of central Europe for Factor Three. Screaming at a spot in the mountain he feels is hollow, a doorway appears. Stepping in he finds a spider-like robot that blasts him and knocks him off the platform. He barely catches himself and weakly gets back his rented chalet.

From their last encounter, Xavier gave Banshee some advanced devices to contact him and the X-Men.

Angel flies around looking for any sign of Factor Three while the others are through files. With Cyclops and Marvel Girl talk to Angel in the driveway, Iceman pops his head out the window. Saying they getting a message from Banshee.

Changling 1st Appearance. Back in Europe Banshee is still weak and only sends out "Beware the spider" before falling unconscious. Two mysterious figures come in and take Banshee to their master.

Peter Parker a.k.a Spider-Man takes a leisure stroll into the country side. On his way, he sees a mill he wants to explore when he sees big circle shadow over him. Peter ducks into the mill to avoid whatever it is. Now in his suit he checks it out when it lands on the grass. The spider-looking machine then starts zapping and attacking him.Back at the mansion, Cerebro gets an alert. They find the location, a mill just outside Xavier's property

Spider-Man is still swinging for his life from the spider-robot. Landing on the robot, he destroys it by making it zap itself. The explosion being bigger than he expected he gets knocked out for a few seconds.

Climbing out of the mill Beast hastily assumes he's the spider Banshee warned them about. The boys start to attack while Spider-Man defends himself. Beast climbing up the mill tries to attack while Spider-Man is talking. After beating Angel, Beast and Iceman, Cyclops yells that they're just there to talk

Back at the mansion Marvel Girl finds out that Xavier left a special crystal in Banshee's headband, using the frequency Marvel Girl hopes to find him or at least Xavier.

They ask him about Factor Three and Spider-Man has no clue what they're talking about but they don't believe him and attack again. Cyclops beam cuts through Spider-Man's webbing and he swings out the window and into the river.

They get a call from Marvel Girl telling him that signal on Cerebro is gone, which means it wasn't Spider-Man after all. They try to explain themselves but Spider-Man doesn't want to hear it. The X-Men then leave in Xavier's Rolls Royce.

Once back at the mansion, Marvel Girl shows the fellas where Banshee might be located. Down in the basement the four ponder about Factor Three. Beast upstairs actually dealing with potential robbers. Now beaten the robbers Beast brings them downstairs, they use Cerebro to send themselves to the nearest police station.

Driving down the road in Xavier's Roll Royce, Jean and Warren walk into the welfare centre asking for loan but are unsuccessful. Driving by a construction the team splits up. Marvel Girl, Cyclops and Angel ask the workers if they need any extra hands, using their mutant powers offering to help. After their demonstration, the boss asks for their union cards which they do no have.

Putting on their civilian clothes they walk back to the car but don't see it. They parked it by a fire hydrant and it was towed. A man named Tom offers them a ride and drives them to Central Park. They see Beast and Iceman performing in the public. Before they can join their friends someone is yelling from the arch.

A new foe (Tom) calling himself Mekano declaring they are the first people to see him in action as he says he's going to demolish the new Memorial Library. Thanking Beast and Iceman in distracting the public. The two come down going to confront Mekano but Icemen gets cuffed by the police, too tired from performing to break the handcuffs. Beast gets knocked over by Mekano.

In costume the X-Men head to the library and see Mekano busting in and knocking down bookshelves.

Angel and Cyclops attack but Mekano knocks them down with bookshelves and runs away upstairs. Quickly following him upstairs, Mekano annoyed with them he throws a reading machine at Cyclops and using Angel as a shield before just hurling him at Cyclops and Beast.

Jumping out the window Mekano grabs onto the arch. It crackles and he starts to fall. Even with his powerful exo-skeleton, he wouldn't be able to survive from that fall. As he's falling Marvel Girl catches him with her TK and keeps him up there until the boys come along.

As police come to arrest them, Mr. Regal, Tom's father comes. Tom explains he was tired of being just known as the philanthropists child. Since coming to town he wanted to make a name for himself, doing anything to get people to notice him. He apologizes to his father. Tom didn't want to be criminal but just attention.

Since it's his fathers library and in his name, it'll be silly to press charges against himself. The police ask about the X-Men. Mr. Regal figures he owes the X-Men. They decline but ask for the cover for plane tickets to central Europe.

Now finally making enough money for the flights and left over to bail out the Rolls Royce the X-Men make it to the airport and boarding their plane. Not knowing they're being watched by a mysterious figure.

They're flying in the plane when it suddenly dips. Looking out the window Scott sees a ship and assumes it's Factor Three. The first hit actually missed. The five teenagers grab their stuff and jump out the plane's emergency door. Scott figured if they were after the X-Men, Factor Three leaves the airline alone and they do. Scott hits their ship's power plant and it explodes. which he didn't intend to do.

The five of them is still in a free fall. Warren, Hank, and Scott in one group with Jean and Bobby in the other. Jean is barely slowing their descent with her TK. Scott whose holding onto Warren starts ripping off his jacket when his glasses fall off, he lets go of Warren to cover his eyes. Warren struggles to get his jacket off and Beast tries to move Scott from hitting a pinnacle telling him to open his eyes directly below. They break just in time.

Warren finally got his jacket and straps off flying to grab his friends but they're still falling too fast. Scott tells Warren to let him go to lighten his load but Warren says no. Jean too exhausted to keeping using her TK. Bobby then makes an ice slide to slow their descend just enough to land on the mountain below. Hank keeping hold of a blind Scott.

After a bit of an abrupt landing they quickly change into their uniforms. Looking around wondering how they're even going to find Factor Three when a spider-robot attacks (like the one Spider-Man just fought). Marvel Girl uses the robots blasters on itself.

Suddenly more spider-robots and people on top of the mountain saying that the X-Men are now prisoners of Factor Three, giving them the choice of joining them or be destroyed with 10 secs to reply. Running out into a valley they run into sleeping gas, a trap by Factor Three.

When Cyclops comes to he sees all their former foes on screens. The Vanisher, Unus the Untouchable, Mastermind and Blob. Turning around Scott sees two other figures he's never met.

The one closer says his name is Changling and he will be the prosecutor as he puts the X-Men are on trial for their very lives. The Mutant Master says they're on trial for betraying their kind by getting along with the humans. Changling now showing them on a screen Xavier and Banshee laying unconsciousness in little pods.

The witnesses of their trial were the four foes on the other screens and have been found guilty by a party of their peers. Mutant Master explains his master plan for mutants to rule the world. Telling Changling to send the X-Men into utter oblivion.

Changling stuns them first before hooking them up to some weird machine. He and Mutant Master leave to start their plan. Cyclops tells Iceman to make icicles as Marvel Girl TK's them over the machine, short-circuiting it.

Now free and trying to take off a metal band placed on Cyclops when they're attacked by a robot. Marvel Girl moving a blind Cyclops out of the way of danger. The team then all attack, Cyclops freeing himself.

They damage the robot and it starts walking the opposite direction rampaging and out of control. The team then uses this opportunity run away, back to the room when Changling was. Mutant Master comes on screen to taught them and declare that he will rule all the mutants.

Mutant Master declares nothing will stop him from bringing a third world war in which the race of humans shall perish. Beast feels the place is going to blow, the team then runs and finds two of Factor Three's circular ships and getting out just in time.

In another headquarters half a world away Mutant Master calls Changling telling him that the X-Men may have escaped but he will resume with his plan. Changling questions him to only be called a fool. He gets mad saying that it was he was the one who gathered the X-Men's greatest enemies. Mutant Master almost hits him with his invincible weapon and could have obliterated him. Changling quickly apologizes.

Back at the mansion Cerebro already alerts them with two signals of where to go. The team splits into two and head out in the circular ships. Beast, Angel and Marvel Girl in one with Cyclops and Iceman in the other.

Now landing their ship Angel does some further reconnaissance and says the medieval castle is guarded like Fort Knox. Currently holding a conference with every military on the East. They know Factor Three placed a bomb that could go off any minute.

Beast takes down a lot of the guards while Marvel Girl and Angel get in but to only be faced with Factor Three.

In another place Xavier is telling Changling that their plans will never work, saying that Mutant Master will only eventually turn on him.

Cyclops and Iceman try to explain to the American army about the situation but the Colonel thinks they're crazy and wants them locked up. As they try to run away they're getting shot in which they retaliate with their powers. Running into a building they meet face-to-face with Mastermind and Unus.

Now being surrounded by guards Cyclops has Iceman create a mist and they were able to make their escape. However, they did succeed in their mission in fouling up their filters so no special gas would let Factor Three take over the American base.

Back in Europe Angel and Marvel Girl face the Blob and Vanisher. Once the two defeat them the Russian guards surround them, calling them assassins, not listening to a word they're saying they get thrown in a cell, along with the Blob, where they meet up with Beast again. Marvel Girl uses her TK to bring the sleeping guard closer so they can grab the cells keys.

Running out they're met with more guards. Marvel Girl swipes a briefcase from one of them, believing the time-bomb is in it. Blob takes it but they try talking to him, also trying to say that Mutant Master will just betray him in the end. Not taking any chances, Blob runs away.

With the briefcase now shaking like crazy, Angel takes it and throws it in the sky and it imminently blows. The three now run to their ship.

With the ships sensory devices Cyclops and Iceman were able to get to Mutant Master's headquarters. The other three get there just in time as they ready themselves to fight but they get interrupted before they even start.

It's Xavier. Telling everyone the real villain is Mutant Master and that he's lying about his true plans. About all the weird coincidences and chances he gave the X-Men to live.

Mutant Master then attacks everyone.

In another room Banshee wakes up. He hears the sound of a fight from the next room. The androids spotted him so he uses a shriek that would only damage delicate machinery. He raises his pitch just a bit and Mutant Master begins to crumble. His true form now displayed. A being from a planet called Sirius.

Noticing how his screams affect him Banshee goes more up an octave. The being presses a button and all the other androids begin to explode.

Suddenly there's two Xavier's. With a telepathic thought, Xavier tells her who is the fake so she grabs who she assumes is Changling. Looking over at the being from Sirirus, ashamed of his defeat and failure to rule a planet he "self destructs."

Cyclops asks Xavier what they should do about the "evil" mutants. Unus says there's no time as the place is about to blow. Leaving in their circular ships Xavier tells Cyclops that Changling saw what the being really wanted, a planet which no life could live. Mutant or human.

Once home, Marvel Girl remembers something and rushes to it. She explains she had a little pet project she's being doing before the Juggernaut incident. New individual costumes!

X-Men (1963) [issues #31-#34]

After all their hard work lately Xavier gives his students the weekend off. Hank and Bobby are excited for double dates with Vera and Zelda. Warren wanting to ride his mustang. With no where to go, Xavier suggests Scott return some books he borrowed from Jean. Secretly playing cupid so he can the mansion to himself for his secret project.

As Scott leaves, Warren drives by. He offers Scott a ride to Jeans college, saying he was gonna go there anyway. Warren wants to settle the love rivalry with Scott over Jean today.

At the college, Ted’s older brother Ralph comes to visit. With their brotherly rivalry they wanna see who is best at vaulting. Ralph goes first but his rod breaks and he ends up hitting his head on the pole. He rejects the idea of going to the hospital so they make their way to a nearby diner.

Once settle at their table, Warren and Scott walks in. They learn that Ralph worked at Stark Industries for a while. Changing the subject Ralph offers them a tour of his new lab. Jean and Scott agree to go while Warren heads out

Thinking he's walking into a pizza place, Warren walks into a disko club. He's a little surprised but he figures he can flirt with a girl to get over Jean. Just then, a pair of hands covers Warren's eyes from behind. Turning around he sees his old friend Candy Southern. They spend most of the time catching up.

At the lab, Jean and Scott are fascinated by the cool equipment in Ralph's lab. Ralph then pulls Ted aside and says he wants to show him something in secret. In another room, he opens a closet and there's an iron man suit but made out of cobalt. Ralph puts it on to show Ted. However, Ralph is already starting to feel weird. Ted says something that angers Ralph and he hits him.

As Scott peaks around the doorway and sees Cobalt Man wrecking the place. They quickly put on their suits and confront him. Cobalt Man thinking all heroes are friends with each other, therefore the X-Men are Stark's friends. He blasts at the platform they were standing on.

Landing on their feet with no damage they chase after the Cobalt Man. This time he blasts some equipment to fall on them then flies off to Stark Industries. Thankfully the equipment was hollow as Cyclops and Marvel Girl were fine. Cyclops sends out a distress call to Xavier. Feeling like it's not life or death that they might need him, he just calls the others.

Cyclops and Marvel Girl run outside. She sees Ted with a bandage on his head running to his van knowing exactly where his brother is going. Since it was dark and they were right on the other side of the van, they hop in.

While Hank and Bobby on their double dates with Vera and Zelda, they get a call from Xavier, they make another nonsense excuse for leaving. Realizing they're actually broke they stand on the side of the road. Luckily Warren seemed to be rushing down for the same reason, he picks them up and head to Stark Industries.

Ted gets there right after they did. Rushing out of the van says "The X-Men? I thought there was 5 of you." Marvel Girl with Cyclops behind says "There are." pretending like they were there the whole time. Ted then explains to them that the cobalt suit is so radioactive that it only takes 2 hours to hit a critical overload.

The X-Men make a plan and try to talk to Cobalt Man. Icemen freezes his power pack. Cobalt Man tries to fly but can't anymore. Angel catches him just before he sinks down. The brothers reunite. It turns out a bonk on the head can have serious affects. Before they leave, Ted makes a comment that makes Marvel Girl think he might know their identities.

It's Bobby's 18th birthday and he's out his teammates and their dates. Shockingly Scott asked Jean to dance. Jean thinks he's doing it out of pity cause she didn't have a date. Scott thinking she's in love with Ted and that he was too late.

At Bobby's party some bikers drive in and harass them and their dates. The X-Men subtly use their powers to stop these bikers. They then drive their dates home

Xavier, who was at the mansion, working on his experiment and trying the ultimate test. Lately there has been a door in the mansion that he kept private that Scott was becoming curious about. Now opening the door, in the middle of the room is his step-brother Cain, the Juggernaut.

Over the past few months, Xavier has been trying to make a machine to remove to curse of the Cyttorak but keep his brother. Once hooked up, Xavier feels three minds instead of two which overwhelms him and he passes out. The Juggernaut is free!

Looking around and feeling confused, the last thing Cain remembered was facing the X-Men now he sees his brother unconscious on the floor, nearly dead. He leaves him, grabs his helmet and heads upstairs to get ready to ambush the X-Men when they come home.

While on a walk in the park, Scott confesses to Jean why he tends to isolate himself, out of fear of hurting someone.Warren is the first one home. He's cautious as it seems suspension like last time when Magneto attacked him.

Flying around the mansion in the dark and not finding anyone he heads for Xavier's private room only to be almost attacked.They scuffle before Cyclops yells at them and turns on the lights. Turns out the X-Men were already there in uniform.

Cerebro goes off, reacting to them then suddenly the mansion shakes. Figuring Xavier must be downstairs they all run down. As they're running down the steps, it suddenly turns into a slide with Angel and Marvel catching themselves while the others tumble in.

Hearing the mysterious a voice behind some crates Angel flies in but to only fly into the Juggernaut. Angry and looking for revenge for being a coma for months he fights Xavier's precious students.

Fighting the Juggernaut, Cyclops seems to more proactive of Marvel Girl and tells her to run. She tries running up the ramp but the Juggernaut attacks her with a mental bolt.

With the X-Men all now knocked out, Cain starts hitting the walls, trying to bury them under the mansion he hears a voice in his head. Someone from Factor Three and were interested in added him to their ranks.

This interests Cain and stops what he was doing and breaks himself out of the basement, busting a water pipe on the way out. The X-Men are finally starting to wake up. The water is filling fast, they find Xavier knocked out and place him in his bed.

With the Juggernaut gone, the X-Men tend to Xavier. Marvel Girl using the mental-wave amplifier to see if she can probe Xavier's sub-conscious, with the boys looking so worry she said she feels the psychic impulses and that the Xavier will be all right.

Cyrattorak origin. They ask who the person is in Xavier's memory. Jean tells them he's just called The Ancient One. They check Cerebro, however it does but doesn't locate a person, just then Dr. Strange in his astral projection comes in asking why they summoned him.

Before he leaves they ask him about Cyrattork. He warns them that it's a very dangerous journey and that only two of them can undertake. They all offer to go but Cyclops chooses Marvel Girl. In his head he's thinking "Did I pick her for TK powers or because I love her?"

Dr. Strange leaves with a final warning that they only have an hour to do it or they will forever remain in the crimson cosmos, then teleports Cyclops and Marvel Girl where they need to be. Cyclops tells the boys to look out for the Juggernaut while they're gone.

Now in Korea, Cyclops starts to blast open an entrance in the rocka when they hear voices coming. Some local troops marching. Marvel Girl uses her TK to cause a rock slide scaring them away.

Once in the cavern and finding the ruby, they clasp hands and repeat a incantation Dr. Strange taught them. They get pulled into the ruby and are attacked by Xorak the Outcast. However at one point they get looped back to the beginning of when they meet him.

With a minute left Cyclops notices the tricking on Marvel Girl's watch is bothering Xorak. She dangles it saying she'll put it away if he just gives them what they want. As the watch ticks, time catches up with Xorak and he turns into dust. Taking Marvel Girl's hand, Cyclops reaches for the ruby and they just make it, now teleporting into Xavier's room with ruby in hand.

The Juggernaut ends up at an airport as the three boys land their helicopter. As Cain approaches they turn the helicopters blades at him but it's nothing and he begins to rip the helicopter apart into pieces. Cyclops and Marvel Girl leave to head over to help the others. Once gone, two shadows sneak in and take Xavier, saying he'll be important in their plan in Factor Three.

The boys at the airport are still attempting to fight the Juggernaut without any success when Beast sees something behind Cain. He tells him he's gonna fall for that trick but he starts to feel something. Cain turns around to see Cyclops holding up the ruby.

Cain rushes over to grab it from Cyclops but once he does, he can't let go and the waves of the ruby engulf him. In a burst of flame Cain is gone. Cyclops assuming him and the ruby were teleported into the Crimson Cosmos. They fly home and find out Xavier is missing, immediately assuming it was Factor Three.

With now knowing that Factor Three are mostly evil mutants. Cyclops is sure they're after world conquest, Beast starts fixing Cerebro which broke during their fight with the Juggernaut.

Back at college, a roommate tells Jean she missed a phone call from Ted. Feeling nervous he might know about her she uses a payphone. Answering the phone Ted explains that Ralph had been taken and that the X-Men has to help him rescue him.

Jean asks him "Why do you think I can reach the X-Men-?" Before Ted says there's no time and hangs up. Jean then calls Warren at the mansion, he and Icemen head out, leaving Beast and Cyclops fixing Cerebro.

They pick up Marvel Girl and head over to Ralph's research lab. Ted tells them that Ralph was taken down to the center of Earth by Tyrannus. Angel recalls someone named Tyrannus but thought they were just legend. Ted explains how Ralph was taken. They ask how they're even going to get them and Ted shows them an atomic-powered Earth borer Ralph was building. They now make their plan to follow Tyrannus the way he came. With only seats for three, they leave a reluctant Ted behind.

Eventually they come into a cavern that seems endless. Angel hears something and wonders out loud if it's Tyrannus when he's almost hit with a bolt from Mole Man, offended by being called Tyrannus. Shooting at them Angel then tackles him. The Mole Man calls for his Moloids. While they were distracted with the Moloids, Mole Man runs away, hoping they follow as he has a plan. Running behind the three X-Men find themselves in a weird mist which makes them forget who they even are.

Elsewhere, Tyrannus has Ralph build him a giant robot made out of cobalt. He then wants Ralph to build him more warriors so he can invade the surface. Ralph says no and annoyed by his defiance, Tyannarus sends Ralph back to his cell. While in another place, Beast and Cyclops are heading down as Angel wrote down where they were going before he left.

Taking advantage of their memory loss the Mole Man shows them his newest creation, a 30-foot diamond android and tells them that with the three of them he can beat Tryannus. They seem to recall something about that name, knowing their minds are too strong and before they remember the Mole Man then demonstrates his giant and it scares them into saying they'll forever serve him.

Beast and Cyclops find the Earth-borer hardly damaged and hop in to cruise around to look for their missing teammates. Being inside the vehicle, it prevents them from the mysterious amnesia inducing mist.

Mole Man's giant attacks Tyrannus' castle and uses his giant android. Angel is able to the onto Tyrannus' giant, hoping the metal-laden mud does something, and something it does. He ended up blinding the giant and it fell into a lava-heated pit and explodes. Wondering why that happened, Ralph's hoping Tyrannus' doesn't realized he built his giant with a low heat resistance. The three then attack Tyrannus' moloids, Marvel Girl'sTK holding in place.

On the other side of the cave Beast and Cyclops find Mole Man. They take him with them since he seems to know where Marvel Girl is. Mole Man pleads that the he has no plans to rule the outer world and the boys say "No dice. Just lead us to Tyrannus'."

Once there Angel goes to attack them, not wanting to blast him with his eyes, Cyclops trips him. Angel bumps his head and starts to remember. With the rest back to their normal self they take Ralph back home. Turns out the X-Men put the two foes in the lithe and they forget who they are.

X-Men (1963) [issues #27-#30]

Filled with guilt for accidentally beaming Angel in San Rico, Cyclops won't stop beating himself up about it. Though severely wounded Xavier says Warren just needs complete rest.

He also mentions that he found a new mutant menace while they were in San Rico.

Walking at campus with Ted, Jean hears an explosion. Running to the source, they're bringing out Calvin. Asking if he's okay, but he just brushes them off. He does now remember Jean and Jean can tell.

Out on another double date, Hank and Bobby hear an alarm for a jewellery store. Rushing into their costumes and into the screen but once getting there they see Spider-Man has already taken care of the robbers. Xavier asks them to ask Spider-Man if he would join the X-Men but he declines. 

The boys then go pick Jean up from school. Calvin confronts them, saying he remembers everything. They bring him back along with them to the mansion with them.

At the mansion and in their costumes. Xavier announces Cyclops dropped down as leader while making Mimic deputy leader.

Somewhere else, the Puppet Master, usually a Fantastic Four foe, makes one of his radioactive clay of creations looking like Xavier but it fails due to Xavier feeling it and blocking it.

The Puppet Master then builds a Mimic puppet. Now in complete control of Mimic, he makes him become more aggressive.

Xavier immediately know whose behind it. After the others have already left to find the Puppet Master. A still weak Angel comes out in costume, saying he just has to go too. Xavier lets him.

At Puppet Master's base he tries to get Mimic to destroy the X-Men, but Mimic was trying his best to resist. Angel, hiding behind machinery, pops out and grabs the Mimc puppet and breaking it and freeing Mimic.

With their concern on Angel, the Puppet Master escapes.

Back at the mansion, Xavier's testing out the limits of Mimics power. When Mimic starts challenging Xavier (like talking back), Cyclops suddenly calls Mimic out on his recent attitude. (Angel also doesn't like Mimic).

Banshee 1st Appearance. Flying in NYC, he knocks people out with his sonic scream and steals a Gaelic painting from a shop.

Later on, he flies into a tobacco store stealing more. An older employee who was in the back and didn't have his hearing aid in, locks Banshee in the store. Banshee's sonic scream easily breaks the gate and he heads to the mansion. His scream breaking the window as he barges in, easily knocking out the X-Men and taking Xavier.

Even equipped with their ear shields that they used since his scream came through Cerebro earlier. Banshee's still able to knock them out but the X-Men recovered more quickly and were able to chase after and save Xavier from Banshee's partner Orge.

Banshee tries a second time at getting Xavier. However, even more prepared this time, they were able to trap Banshee in a steel-mesh net. Mimic uses his new sonic scream back at Banshee, followed by a gas pellet from Xavier.

Now knocked out, they put a special suit on Banshee and put him a gravity-less, air-less chamber so he couldn't get enough oxygen to scream. His partner Orge then tries to rescue his partner but is quickly discouraged by the X-Men.

Banshee was able to get free on his own. Xavier quickly stops the X-Men before they attack. Banshee explains that though they were partners, the Orge had Banshee wear a headband that could have killed him by remote. Banshee thanks the X-Men for freeing him and warns them of Factor Three.

It's now winter time and Jean is at the mansion for the weekend. All members are ice skating while Scott says he "forgot" his skates and wanders off.

Away from the team he attempts to take off his lenses, but with his eyelids opening the just tiniest fraction his beam is at full blast. Feeling defeated and helpless, like his uncontrollable power would be a wedge between him and Jean. In a fit of rage Scott beams strikes the rocky hillside and started a rock slide. Scott runs and makes it to safety, a reminder to himself that his merest glance can lead to disaster and that he has to be more careful.

Under a series of long-forgotten tunnels under the hill where Scott cause the rock slide. The Super Adaptoid hears and feels the trembling. Originally from A.I.M and now with A.I.M gone The Super Adaptoid wants to rule the world with androids. He then leaves his cave to test his power. 

At the pond, the students are still skating when Scott comes back saying they have some tests to run. Not used to skating on blades, Bobby falls. Hank jokes and says they'll see him later. Once gone, Bobby puts his uniform and ices up, having more grace just on his feet in his ice form than on skates.

The Super Adaptoid sees Iceman and approaches but due to his weight, the ice breaks and he falls in. This scares Iceman which leads to him freezing the Super Adaptoid and rushing back to the mansion to tell the others. As he leaves the Super Adaptoid breaks free. Iceman runs in, telling his teammates what just happened but they think it sounds ridiculous and brushes him off.

Now in training, Cyclops and Mimic argue once again before he hits Cyclops with a snowball. The rest are also annoyed with Mimic they all begin to fight. Xavier thinking it would be best to let them fight among themselves and not get involved until he has to. It's not until Cyclops and Mimic are on a beam to beam attack. This becomes the final straw and Xavier suggests Mimic leave the school.

Later on, the X-Men are playing football in their uniforms when the Super Adaptoid attacks. The X-Men fight back with no results. He knocks them all out with a gas bomb. 

Mimic, who witnesses the incident as he came back to tell them off again. He comes out and says he wants to be an android.

Once the Super Adaptoid starts draining his power, he changes his mind. Mimic then fights the Super Adaptoid with all his powers, now fighting in the sky. The Super Adaptoid tries to train Mimic's power again but can't due to his powers being artificial, frustrated he throws Mimic down. Weak and plummeting to the Earth, he's thankfully saved by Angel. The Super Adaptoid, also losing his powers falls into the lake.

The X-Men are training in the danger room when a giant hand materializes in front of them, pulling them in a funnel-like tunnel. The hand more focused on Marvel Girl. When she stops she finds Xavier. The Warlock then makes his entrance and putting Jean in a trance. With snap of his fingers, winged horses appear.

While flying on the horses, Angel comes by asking what's going on. Warlock says he's no concern to them. Jean calls by him by his name, asking him to come along which makes Angel think that Warlock is mind-controlling her, but Xavier is not under the Warlock's influence.

The four them enter a cave. The Warlock explains his plan with his ultimate weapon, with it he can bring the modern mans world crashing down, making him the ruler.

Taking Jean with him they leave the other two behind, however, the Warlock feels strange and goes back to check on Xavier. Once in their cell, he sees Angel holding an knocked down unconscious Xavier (who was only faking). The rest of the X-Men then come in the room but the Warlock quickly knocks them out.

For fun, he wagers with Xavier. The X-Men will fight in a tournament and if they win, the Warlock will go back into his crypt.

Beast enters first and throws the guard hassling him up to the viewing area where the Warlock and Xavier are. He scoffs at Beasts attempt while introducing the soon to be first mutant empress. Xavier without his powers, as the Warlock took them, doesn't know what to do to help so he just trusts in the X-Men. The X-men use their powers to stop the fighters on horses, Beast starts climbing up to the viewing area, but once up there Warlock stuns him.

As Iceman gets Beast safely down his ice slide, Warlock runs with Marvel Girl in hand. The X-Men run after them, Xavier takes his power back from Warlock but the Warlock blasts a nearby tower which starts to crumble on the X-Men. Surprisingly the rubble doesn't hit them as Marvel Girl regained her senses and stopped it with her telekinesis.

Now, defying the Warlock he hits her with a stronger mental bolt but Cyclops zaps him with his beam. The Warlock thinking of a way to destroy the X-Men when Beast flips his cape over his head and was able to restrain him. Xavier then uses his power to return the Warlock back into his comatose state.

While leaving the Marvel Girl is thinking about how concerned and worried Scott's voice seemed to be, thinking maybe he does love her. While Scott is promising to himself that Jean's safety is his top priority.

X-Men (1963) [issues #17-#26]

At the hospital, Iceman’s condition seems more serious then they thought. The doctor had no clue what to do due to his mutant DNA and can only recommend rest and stay at the hospital.

Beast only had a broken leg. Angel calls his parents to check in and they say they're on their way to the school to visit. Angel then quickly flies off to the mansion to meet them.

Getting to the mansion, he feels things are a bit off bit but before doing anything he gets ambushed by a mysterious figure.

Xavier and Cyclops also make their way back to mansion, also getting quickly ambushed too.

Beast, now feeling better and hopping around the room, he and Marvel Girl rush back to the mansion. They too to be immediately ambushed by this mysterious figure. Who turns out to be Magneto.

With all but Iceman, the team are knocked out and bound. Magneto puts them in a steel gondola, intending for them to float into space and die from lack of oxygen.

Hearing the doorbell, Magneto greets Angels' parents. He sends them off upstairs to sleep. He then builds a machine that can analyze their body cells and duplicate them. His logic, since they already made a mutant child, they can produce more. Magneto figures he can build a little army.

The X-Men, floating upwards, start to regain their consciousness and freeing themselves out of their bounds.

Iceman, barely conscious and still at the hospital, Charles urgently mind calls him, telling him he needs to get to the mansion. Iceman heads to the mansion and interrupts Magnetos plans.

The rest figure a way to safely return to Earth, back to the mansions lawn. They run in and help Iceman fight with Magneto.

Suddenly The Stranger appears again and Magneto runs away.

Mimic 1st Appearance. Xavier gives the team a day off. Excitedly Hank and Bobby go to the library where they’re meeting their double dates. Bobby and Zelda Kurtzberg are fine but Hank and Vera Cantor get off on the wrong start.

Later, as they walk on the street they run into Calvin. He seems very angry and jealous over seeing Hank with Vera. Calvin then suddenly starts bouncing around and knocks down Hank and Bobby. Construction workers see him picking on the kids they start throwing stuff at him, chasing Calvin away.

Calvin retreats to a roof where he plays with his new acrobatic and ice skills before they fade away.

Wanting more power, Calvin comes to the mansion, displaying his powers to the team and professor. Quickly personalities clash, and Mimic kidnaps Marvel Girl.

While driving Mimic takes Marvel Girl to a deserted mine. Mimics origin is explained. Mimic is more of a mutate than a mutant.

The X-Men come to save Marvel Girl. Marvel Girl now free, Mimic takes and holds Xavier as hostage and while standing on his fathers machines. However, Mimic’s father put in a fail safe in his machine that if Calvin ever came back for more power, it’ll take them away. Xavier then wipes Calvins memory of them and they head home.

The “X-Men” rob a bank. However, it’s the Blob and Unus in X-Men uniforms, sent by Lucifer.

At this time, Scott decides to leave the team. Without telling the others goodbye, he heads to the city. Walking around Scott sees the fake X-Men loading a truck with money.

Cyclops thwarts their plan but the crowd turns on him. The rest of the X-Men come but is also quickly hassled by the crowd. Cyclops now seeing his team, he blasts a hole in the ground and the fake X-Men fall on a subway train, getting away.

Lucifer has built a machine that will amplify Xavier's powers as it'll attack his own mind suddenly resulting him being a complete paralysis. Xavier's origins with Lucifer are explained.

Hank builds a helmet-like device to stop Xavier's own attacks on himself, seeing that it worked they head out to stop Lucifer.

Lucifer, under the Supreme one, had planned to use Dominus to rule. While the X-Men try to find an entry to the complex, Xavier being alone he gets taken to Lucifer by Dominus. The X-Men now storm into the complex trying to find Lucifer, but to only get trapped by him.

While escaping, they find both Xavier and Lucifer. The X-Men actually ended up destroying all the Dominus. Ruining Lucifer's plan and failing The Supreme one, who then appears and vanishes Lucifer into enteral exile.

After everything, Xavier gives them a two week break. Excited, Warren offers to buy Jean and Scott dinner while Hank and Bobby head to Greenwich Village to see Vera and Zelda.

Count Nefaria seeing the X-Men in the papers, now wants them to be his allies due to their power.

While walking alone in Central Park, Scott thinks he sees Marvel Girl floating in the park so he hurries to follows.

Jean, walking in the city, hears a bulletin on the radio talking about a flying X-Men in the park. It's obviously not her so she goes to investigate. Only be his captured by Nefria's Maggia

Cyclops now seeing Angel flying, he follows him now.

Warren, currently driving his car, hears on the radio that the X-Men are in Central Park, curious, he flies over to see what’s going on but once there, he also gets trapped by the Maggia.

Hank and Bobby, along with Vera are visiting at Zeldas apartment. They too hear the news of X-Men in the park and rush out the door with some nonsense excuse. Hank goes first and gets captured, Iceman slides over, encountering the Eel but is quickly saved by Cyclops before they both get captured

The Maggia bring in the X-Men in by boat to Nefaria's castle.

Knowing their powers, he had specific and personalized bounds for the them in his dungeon. He then comes in and offers the X-Men to join him and his Maggia, and they straight up object.

Hearing this, Nefaria then announces he’s going to steal the capital of the United States for a ransom of one hundred million dollars.

He leaves to go use his machine to form a dome over Washington while also making illusions of the X-Men. Having them go to the committee, demanding the ransom be done in three hours or the dome will stay up and everyone will die due to lack of oxygen.

Back at the castle, the real X-Men attempt to escape from their bonds. Once they free themselves, Xavier speaks in their minds, telling them to go along with Nefaria, confused but trusting in the Professor they speak to Nefaria.

Angel is tasked with getting the of files from the congressmen, but the X-Men are quickly attacked by the military while fleeing with case in hand. Unicorn takes it for himself, betraying Nefaria. He also gets attacked by the military knocked out. Marvel Girl grabs the case runs to give the it to Nefaria. Before she does, she wants the dome over Washington gone to be gone.

A mysterious person was able to get by the military and comes into the room where Jean and Nefaria are talking. This person starts messing around with Nefarias machine, feeling a familiarity to the stranger Marvel Girl keeps Nefaria from moving with her telekinesis

The rest of the X-Men slide into the room, wondering what happened. The mysterious person says they all Nefaria and his Maggia escaped on their boat. It's then revealed the mysterious person was actually Xavier, using his own device that lets him walk.

Revealing he used Nefarias machine on him. Nefaria thought he got away with the case but Xavier reveals to his students that it was under the a table in the lab this whole time.

Now that everything is finished, Xavier tells Marvel Girl she got a letter in the mail before handing it to her. Taking the letter and reading it privately. With her worried look, the boys now worried too, they ask if everything’s okay.

With tears in her eyes, she says she has to leave the X-Men as her parents want her to go to a more conventional college

Back home, Jean starts packing her things, the boys giving a little gift before she leaves. Scott and Warren then drive her down to Metro College.

Almost immediately out of the car, a fellow classmate named Ted asks if she’s new then offers to show her around the campus. Both Scott and Jean feel like this is the end of a love that could have been.

A new foe shows, The Locust. With his ionically-triggered insect eggs. Locusts hatch and keep growing the more they eat.

The Locust plans for the insects to rule the world. Xavier thinking it might have something to do with mutations, the boys leave to check it out, not ready to face the X-Men yet, the Locust retreats.

Back at Metro College, Ted offers to take Jean to the cafe. While there, other students are making a fuss about a certain professor. Jean asks Ted about it and he tells her that that professor used to be the top name in entomology but was fired for his crackpot theories. Jean still thinks it’s odd so she goes back to the mansion for the weekend

When Jean gets to the mansion she tells Xavier what she had heard. Seeming to recall this person, Xavier thinks knows him

The next day Xavier was able to get a tour of Metro College.

He inquired about Mr. Hopper, even taking a look in his lab. Scanning the room Xavier now knows where he’s going next and rushes out the room to leave and get the X-Men ready.

While the Locust is in his trailer, an old hermit walks up to the him and asks him why he’s doing these things. Reminding them that he’s not evil maybe just a little deluded, but Locust brushes him off. Later while fighting the X-Men the Locusts bugs eventually turn on him. He starts to see the error of his ways and thanks to the hermit before leaving.

When he leaves it's revealed that the old hermit was Xavier.

While driving Jean back to college they see an orphanage on fire, they stop and quickly change into their costumes and save the day. Once done, they head back to dropping off Jean of at her school. Both Scott and Warren are being jealous of Ted.

In San Rico, El Tigre finds half a piece of a cursed ornament. Holding it, it gave him specials powers and he was able to read the Mayan inscription on the walls, the ancient story of the scared pendent of Kukulcan.

At the mansion cerbero detects something more of a mutate, Xavier sends the X-men to search around NYC in their civies (civillian clothes) but with no luck.

Xavier later pops in, explaining that he found the person and that he's currently heading to the city museum. Once there, the X-men split up and look around the museum. El Tigre using his new powers, he stuns Beast, Iceman, and Angel, while capturing Cyclops.

El Tigre then finds the second piece of the pedant, now putting them together, he becomes the might god Kukulcan

After defeating the X-men, Kukulcan heads back to San Rico .

Xavier then calls Jean at college asking for extra help. She agrees and hangs up. Ted comes along with Calvin asking if she wanted to go out. Jean takes a rain check and heads to the mansion.

Calvin can't get it of his mind that he knows Jean from somewhere. Jean notices it.

Marvel Girl now with the X-men, they make their way to San Rico.

While battling Kukulcan, Cyclops accidentally beams Angels wings. Cyclops now distracted Kukulcan then stuns him.

Beast and Iceman tackle Kukulcans statue, the Feather Serpent. Preventing it to get any solar energy. The ground then begins to crack, swallowing the entire statue. Once the statue is gone Kukuland turns back into El Tigre. With the battle done over they tie up El Tige and take an injured Angel back home.

X-Men (1963) [issues #1-#16]

Charles Xavier is a mutant telepath and specialist in mutant biology and sociology, with Ph.Ds in genetics and biophysics.

Knowing that there must be others like him, he opens a private school on his families estate disguised as a private school called “Charles Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.”

Xavier’s dream is for peaceful coexistence on Earth between humans and mutants.

Looking for students, he comes across an 18-year-old Scott Summers. Scott had become too old for the orphanage was out on his own. Xavier and Scott now go out and try to recruit more students. They came across and added Bobby Drake, Hank McCoy, Warren Worthington III, and Jean Grey (Bobby being the youngest).

Magneto 1st Appearance. Terrorizing and launching missiles from the base with his magnetic power. His objective; to have Cape Citadel. His philosophy is that mutants are supreme and should be above humans, and for mutant kind to rule the world. Magneto doesn't care for humans.

Vanisher 1st Appearance. Wanting to rob the metro national bank then the countries continental defense plans (just cause). The X-Men meet the Vanisher on the white houses lawn, Xavier uses his powers to make him forget who he is while the X-Men fight off his goons.

Blob 1st Appearance. An attraction at a circus, betting people into trying to move him. The X-Men suspect he might be a mutant, they invite him to the mansion. However, personalities clash and he storms off. Xavier now worried about the Blob knowing their identities, he sends the X-Men to get him back.

Before they even leave the mansion, they’re attacked by Blob and his circus pals. After invading the mansion and now confronting Xavier, he uses his power to make them all forget what they were doing and they all leave.

The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants; A group founded by Magneto as he failed against the X-Men the first time by himself.

1st Appearances of Toad, Mastermind, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch. Magnetos team constantly fought among themselves as personalities clash. Mastermind would constantly make illusions on the others and Pietro being over protective of his sister. Their base at the time, Asteroid M.

Reading in the papers that Namor the Sub-Mariner is missing, both Xavier and Magneto want to find him first so he doesn’t join the other. He says no to both in Namor style (dramatically).

Cyclops, Angel, Iceman, Beast, and Marvel Girl graduate. Which Xavier then appoints Cyclops for group leader while he leaves for awhile for unfinished tasks. Scott accepts, even though at the time he was thinking of quitting due to being scared of his power and not wanting to hurt anyone.

Magneto recruits the Blob with a quick battle at the circus, after getting hit on the head, Blob now remembers everything about the X-Men, he then joins with Magneto.

Blob challenges and fights the X-Men at first under Magneto's plan. Realizing Magneto means to kill them, Blob stands in front and protects the X-Men from missiles Magneto targeted at them. After ruining Magneto's plans, Blob leaves, back to the circus.

Unus the Untouchable 1st Appearance. Hank meets him when he quits the X-Men after being fed up of being hassled on the street for being a mutant. He leaves the mansion and joins wrestling. In a match with Unus and oddly not landing a shot, Hank assumes he's a mutant as well.

In trying to impress Magneto to be in the Brotherhood, Unus starts stealing. Hank, now back with the X-Men, creates a device that reverses Unus' powers. Not being able to pick anything up or even eat, Unus begs the X-Men for them to fix his powers, they do and he leaves, going back to wrestling.

Unrequited love between Jean and Scott. (Warren and Hank also have crushes on her too. Bobby said ‘a girl? big deal’)

Xavier, alone across the world, faces the one responsible for his legs, his old foe called Lucifer. Finding him in his underground base, Xavier finds that Lucifer has built a giant thermal bomb large enough to blow up whole a continent and that can go off if Lucifer is to be hurt or killed. Xavier does some precise brain surgery to knock out Lucifer without the bomb going off.

The X-Men, on the surface, had to distract the Avengers so they wouldn’t interfere with Xavier's precise plans. (An energy called them there). Xavier later telepathically explains himself to the Avengers. The Avengers then leave as the X-Men head down to meet up with Xavier. He then guides Cyclops very precisely to disable the bomb, saving the world.

One morning, they hear about a Sabretooth tiger attacking researchers in Antarctica. The X-Men rush out to check it out. Descending further down, they come across a tunnel full of large bones. Angel flies out first and once out of the cave he suddenly almost flies straight into a Pterodactyl. They are now in the Savage Land and once there they immediately get ambushed by a local tribe. Ka-Zar appears and chases the tribe away. As thanks, the X-Men offer their help. Once done helping Ka-Zar, he sends them home.

A being called The Stranger does what he wants whenever he wants, breaking the laws of logic and physics. Seeing his power, Magneto on TV he tries to recruit him while the X-Men are out looking for him in town.

After talking to the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, The Stranger leaves, offering to take Magneto, with Toad jumping in right behind him. Now alone and sick of fighting, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver refuse an offer to be on the X-Men and leave to go back to Europe.

Juggernaut 1st Appearance. Xavier's and Cain's origin. Cain destroys all their strongest defenses without breaking a sweat. Now having a helmet to protect himself from mental attacks he confronts his step-brother. Xavier sends out mental calls for extra help to other heroes while the X-Men try to fight off the Juggernaut.

The Human Torch was the only current hero able to help. With Xavier's plan, Torch traps the Juggernaut with a ring of fire while Angel swoops in and takes off Cain’s helmet. Now Xavier can mentally attack him. Once done, Xavier memory wipes Johnny before he leaves.

Professor Xavier and the X-Men attended Reed and Sue’s wedding.

Bolivar Trask / Sentinels 1st Appearance. Trask declares mutants are dangerous and menaces of society, installing fear and hate of mutants to the public. Xavier and Trask have a televised debate where Trask suddenly then displays the first versions of sentinels. They actually turn on Trask suddenly and abduct him.

They take Trask to the Master Mold, a way bigger sentinel who prints out the regular ones. Master Mold then demands Trask to build more sentinels so that they can rule over all mankind. Beast’s origin is revealed while being captured by the sentinels.

The X-Men then infiltrate their underground fortress, battling many sentinels on the way looking for Trask and Beast.

Hearing what Master Mold had planned, Trask realized he was wrong about mutants, and that it was he who was the one betraying mankind. In deviance Trask then destroys his machine, causing an explosion, taking down Master Mold and sacrificing himself.

The X-Men escape with an injured Beast and Iceman.

The Principality of Madripoor (1985) Hightown / Lowtown

Madripoor is an island nation located in Southwest Asia, supposedly near Singapore.

Wolverine disguised himself as Patch (he just wore an eyepatch and didn't use his claws) while in Madripoor during the time the X-Men were hiding in Australia. Usually hanging out at the Princess Bar in Lowtown

Hightown is a district of Madripoor where the most rich and powerful. Hightown is one of the wealthiest places in the world for it's spectacular architecture and advance technology

While in Lowtown, it's a lawless crime-impoverished district. A place with rampant crime and depravity. A place where anything can be bought/sold. There were also gangs around like The Triads, The Yakuza, and local gangs terrorizing everyone
