CW: burn/injury (nothing grave), use of Y/N, jokes at the expense of Hufflepuff House (no hate to the house, I too am a Hufflepuff)
By some brilliant stroke of luck, Professor Slughorn was away at some kind of Potioneer's convention in Sweden which left the Gryffindor and Slytherin's 6th and 7th year potion’s classes hosted by a substitute. That substitute happened to be none other than Professor Binns - the horrifyingly boring History of Magic professor. Normally, the presence of the ancient ghostly professor would be mind-numbing, but seeing as he’d just barely gotten today’s instructions up on the board before promptly falling asleep (and James threw a muffliato spell around him to keep it that way), the class was actually quite lively.
“How was I supposed to know we were only meant to add a pinch and not the whole jar?!” Barty Crouch Jr asked you incredulously.
“Uhm, perhaps by reading the sodding instructions!? Circe’s tits; is it Evan’s turn with your shared braincell today?” You spat as you vanished your soiled potion. The sound of an explosion, followed by Evan’s laughing, followed by Regulus hissing “Rosier!” proved you wrong.
“Ah, the braincell eluded both of you today; my mistake.” You muttered as you began your potion from scratch.
“Reggie! Y/N’s being mean to me!” He tattled from across the room.
“It’s not mean if it’s true, babe.” Regulus responded without lifting his head from his own worktable.
“How rude.” Barty whined.
“You’re starting to sound like a Hufflepuff, Junior.” You taunted as you swatted at his hands that were vying for your potions ingredients.
“How dare you. I have never been so insulted.” He seethed from his place on his stool.
You smirked. “You don’t listen much, do you?”
“Now, maybe that was a little harsh, L/N, comparing him to a Hufflepuff.” Dorcas called over to you from her worktable.
“You’re just as soft as he is, Meadows.”
“Nobody is safe…” Marlene murmured with a smirk.
Sirius and James’ potion station made a startling pop sound before James hissed in pain. “Fuck!” He gritted through his teeth.
You looked over to find James holding his arm against his chest protectively, Sirius grimacing at the sight, and Remus rolling his eyes because he told those sods to be careful. You immediately abandoned your worktable and a petulant Barty and made your way to the Gryffindor side of the room.
“What happened!?” You cooed as you gently encouraged James’ arm away from his body so you could inspect it.
“I added too much billywig sting. The potion overflowed and got Prongs.” Sirius offered guiltily. You cooed again and gently kissed the space beside the angry looking burn on James’ arm.
“Barty! Grab me the medikit from the supply cupboard!” You called over your shoulder.
Your request was met with a scoff. “I’m not one of your trained dogs, L/N. You’ll have to show me at least one tit before I’m at your beck and call.”
He barely had time to duck as you hurled a beaker at him.
“Okay, okay. Salazar’s saggy balls, you’re wicked.” He muttered as he made his way to fetch the medikit.
Remus was planning to let those bell-ends clean this up on their own, but he relented at how sweet you looked as you fussed over James; unable to hide his fond smile as he made his way over to his three lovers from his own workbench he shared with Peter.
“What did I say at the beginning of class?” Remus asked impishly. Sirius seemed to gulp a little before he murmured “to read twice, add once”.
“Mhm, and what did you do?” Remus continued.
Sirius, now growing tired of feeling shamefaced, muttered “obviously not that…” which earned him a pat on the arse from the werewolf.
Barty returned with the medikit and leaned his cheek forward as if waiting for you to press a kiss to it for his assistance. You whacked him in the head with said kit before opening it to find the burn paste and poison neutralizer.
All contempt melted away from your face as you turned your sights from your potions partner to one of your three boyfriends. “It might sting, but I’ll try to be gentle.” You murmured to James as you began to work on his wound.
As Remus peered at the burn, it really didn’t look all that bad – but the way you were treating James made it seem like you thought he was going to lose his arm. Suddenly, Remus saw a small wet mark land on James’ arm from where you were hovering over him.
“Dovey, you don’t have to cry! He’s okay.” He cooed at you as he began rubbing soothing circles onto your back, pressing a conciliatory kiss to your temple.
“M’not crying.” You muttered somewhat petulantly. “The smell of flesh burning off of Jamie’s arm is assaulting my sinuses.”
Sirius officially seemed more distraught that he upset you than he did about burning James.
“Oh, my poor, sweet girl.” Sirius murmured at you as he pulled you away from James’ arm.
“I’m not done, Sirius!” You argued, though you never tried to pull away from Sirius’ grasp.
“Remus will finish up angel, give Sirius hell for me.” James winked at you. You flushed at the attention and hid your face in Sirius’ chest.
“Poor lovey, so worried about her boys, hm?” Sirius cooed into the crown of your head where his lips were pressed. You hummed in the affirmative.
“What the actual fuck?” Barty interrupted the moment as you all turned to take in his astounded face. “You’re holding a Chinese Chomping Cabbage that close to your jugular, Black? Do you have a death wish?”
“No need to be jealous, Junior. Your boyfriend is right over there.” James goaded from his place as Remus finished wrapping up his wound.
Not needing to be told twice, Barty all but skipped across the room to Regulus before he threw himself onto the quiet boy’s lap. Regulus, hardly sparing his boyfriend a glance, stood and dumped the boy off his lap before returning to his stool and carrying on with his potion.
You could no longer see Barty from your place in Sirius’ chest but based on the vibrations from his torso and the chuckles of your other boyfriends, you were sure he was flat on his ass.
“I hate it here.” He cried.

@jegulus-microfic / rank / 705 words / game of truth or dare goes wrong, or not?
“Trust me Sirius, you will regret this,” Regulus whispered in his brother’s ears as everyone around them cheered for the next game.
“I’m your big brother, I will never regret embarrassing you.” Sirius took Regulus by the shoulders and made him sit on a chair in the middle of the circle. It was the first party where both Sirius’ group of friends and Regulus’ were hanging out, it was Dorcas and Marlene’s idea now that they were dating.
“The game is really easy, you take a drop of veritaserum, and someone gets to ask a question. Got it?” Everyone around the room hummed in confirmation as Regulus drank his dose of the potion. His eyes met James’ across the room, his boyfriend tried to conceal his nervousness with a smile. If their friends were smarter, Regulus was sure they would’ve picked up on their relationship by now, without the need of a veritaserum.
First, they went through the normal round of questions just to make sure that the potion was working. No more than three questions in and Sirius decided it was time for the actual fun.
“Do I actually embarrass you, Reggie?” Sirius teased, but he was clearly eager for the answer.
“No, you’re my favorite person and I love you.” A round of loud ‘awwws’ echoed in the room. “Oh shut up, and just ask another question,” Regulus blurted out.
He immediately regretted it as he saw Barty’s mind clearly plotting something.
“Okay, I have one. Dear Regulus, would you be so kind as to rank your best kisses?”
“Ew! NO!” Sirius quickly protested.
From the corner of his eye, Regulus could tell how the question made James' heart race. This was not how they had planned to tell everyone they were dating.
“Shhh! I want to know,” Remus insisted.
“I don’t! Knowing you two kissed when you did perfect rounds together is all the information I need about the matter!” Sirius was hysterical.
“Just answer the question Reg, start with the third place,” Barty instructed.
Regulus tried to fight the truth, this truly was the last way he wanted his brother and friends to know he had been dating Gryffindor’s golden boy. He once again searched for James’ eyes, and James was already looking at him, so lovingly. His boyfriend mouthed the words ‘it’s okay’, so Regulus took a deep breath and answered.
“Fine. Third place would be Evan.”
“Quite the kisser you are too, love.” Evan blew him a kiss in response and everyone started laughing and commenting.
“Shhh, I want to know who is in second place,” Dorcas intercepted.
“Sirius, don’t hate me,” Regulus said as he closed his eyes and fought once more the words that were about to come out. “Second one is Rem-”
“I’M LEAVING!” Sirius announced loudly as he got up.
“Sirius, don’t be dramatic, don’t you want to know who is actually first?” Remus said, trying to distract him.
“Don’t worry, it’s me,” Barty said with an immense amount of confidence.
“Ugh, it couldn’t get worse I guess,” Sirius mumbled as he sat on Remus’ lap. “If you say James I will fucking kill you, Regulus.”
Regulus' eyes widened and a violent blush crept from his neck towards his cheeks, without thinking he snapped his head towards James who was the same shade of crimson as him. Fuck. His reaction had been too noticeable. Everyone around had caught it, especially Sirius.
“Regulus! Say right now that James does not have the first place in your fucking kissing list!”
Silence.
“He does…”
The room erupted in a million loud voices laughing, screaming and questions aimed at both him and James.
When did this happen!?
How am I not on your list!?
Are you dating!?
Or are you fucking!?
Regulus began feeling dizzy and overwhelmed, he got up the chair to try to breathe but felt his legs falter. He felt familiar hands, calloused hands, warm hands steady him. James.
“It’s okay, baby,” James assured him as his arms wrapped around Regulus’ waist.
James’ voice brought him back to reality, he saw Sirius approaching and couldn’t help the words that left his mouth with a laugh, “I told you so.”
They never played with veritaserum again.

@jegulus-microfic june 12, challenge, wc: 475, tw: alcohol consumption
Marlene downs her third shot, barely keeping herself up. “Next one!” She looks around, her eyes settle on the group sitting behind Peter, and an evil smile grows on her face. But that might just be the alcohol. “James,” she starts, “I challenge you to kiss Sirius’ bro—hic—brother. Like, on the lips.”
And as it turns out, it was, in fact, an evil smile.
Sirius protests. “Hey! No, no you can’t do that—” He seems to think about it for a second, and then he continues, “Well, I mean he wouldn’t let you so I don’t know why I bother.”
Marlene laughs along, agreeing that Regulus would never let James kiss him.
And so James raises an eyebrow at all of them, slurring his words, “You guys think he won’t kiss me?”
“We don’t think, we know,” Marlene corrects.
Sirius, agreeing with her, looks around their group and asks, “Who here thinks James will get punched in the face if he tries to kiss Regulus?”
Literally everyone raises their hand. Everyone except Peter, that is. And that’s why he gets a confused glare from Sirius.
“Pete, are you too drunk to raise your hand?” Sirius asks.
Peter, probably the most sober of them all, shakes his head. “No, I’m just not blind like you guys.”
Sirius turns to Remus, too drunk to understand what Peter is saying. Remus shrugs, and they drop it. Peter rolls his eyes at their tomfoolery.
“SO!” Marlene speaks up again. “James, do you accept the challenge or will that be three shots for you?”
“I definitely accept the challenge,” James says confidently.
“Note that you’ll have to drink three shots if you don’t manage to complete it.”
He smirks. “I know, don’t worry.” Then he looks at Regulus sitting among his Slytherin friends with a couple of beers, and shouts at him. “PSST Regulus!”
Regulus turns just as Sirius says, “Uh oh.”
“Can I kiss you?”
The group waits for the “fuck no” and the punch patiently. But it never happens. Instead, Regulus, looks around at all the people in the party, all the people that would see them kiss if they did, and apparently he decides that he doesn’t care. He just shrugs and says, “Sure.”
So, James smiles sweetly at his friends, ignores the horror in Sirius’ face, and gets up to go to Regulus. Who he kisses as soon as he’s close enough to place his hands on his waist.
And only Peter isn't surprised by it, because it was him that noticed what was happening between James and Regulus the past year, and it was him that dared to ask James if he was dating Sirius’ brother. And James never denied it, so of course, Peter wasn’t surprised.
When James breaks the kiss, he smiles at his boyfriend. “Thanks babe, I couldn’t handle another three shots.”

all these things that i've done | remus lupin
summary: Remus is drunk, you're the first person he thinks of to call. content: drunk Remus, exes, throwing up (and reader tells Remus to throw up so he can get it out of his system), unedited
"(Y/N)," he draws out, voice high and sing-songy. He's honestly a little surprised you picked up his call. You're a little surprised that you picked up too. It's nearly two in the morning. Anyone in their right mind would have woken up, seen that their ex was calling, and put the phone right back down to go to sleep. You couldn't though not with the achy feeling that formed in your stomach after seeing the caller ID.
"Hi, Remus. Are you alright?" you ask, voice raspy from having been woken up. You hear James nearby calling for Remus and Remus brushing him off so he can find a quieter place to talk to you. "What's going on?"
"We went to a bar. It's the bar that we always used to go to," he breathes, background much quieter now. He must have gotten away. You don't really know what to say. "It made me think of you. James told me not to call."
"You're drunk, Remus," you grumbled, fingers pinching at the bridge of your nose. Of course, he's drunk. That's the only reason why he's calling. "Go back to James and Sirius. Are they trying to leave?"
"No. But I want to leave."
"Are you really calling me for a ride? What the fuck?"
"No, no, no, no, no. I mean, yes. I am calling for a ride but I miss you."
"Call an uber." With that, you hang up the phone. How dare he call you asking for a ride after you haven't spoken to each other in months. You lost half of your friends because of your breakup. Lily and Marlene are the only ones that still talk to you. Every once in a while, you'll get a text from James but nothing important.
And you would think with the way you're fuming at him for thinking he could just call you up and you'd come running, that when his name comes up on your phone again you wouldn't answer it. You do.
"I'm sorry for calling you. Please don't be mad at me," he whispered. You feel bad. He's obviously drunk with no way to get home. You don't want him to take an uber by himself and the bar isn't too far from your house.
"Wait outside, I'll be there in fifteen." He mumbles a thank you before you can hang up on him. You huff under your breath as you take the warm blankets off of you, getting up to locate a pair of pants, shoes, and your car keys.
He's like an excited puppy when you get there, jumping up immediately as you pull in front of where he's sitting with James. James doesn't look as drunk as Remus and you're grateful that one of them had the hindsight to be a little smart. Getting out of the car, Remus is on you, pulling you into a hug so he can rest his cheek on your head, mumbling out a, "Missed you so much."
You try to ignore the pull his words have on your heart but it's only been a few months since you broke up. You haven't exactly moved on from him.
"He drank a lot," James explains, "I tried to get him to call anyone else but he told me that he wanted you to come and get him."
You spin in Remus's hold so he's pressed against your back, face buried in your neck. You're trying to talk to James but you can't focus, not when he starts pressing kisses onto your skin like no time has passed between the two of you seeing each other.
"Don't worry, I'll get him home."
"Noooo, can I sleep on your couch? Please?" James looks at you with a look of pity. You brush it off, reaching back to run a hand through Remus's hair. You say bye to his friends, pulling him into the passenger seat of your car and handing him a water bottle that you had grabbed before you left. "You're so sweet."
You don't say anything, climbing into the driver's seat and starting in the direction of his house. He notices and is quick to whine about wanting to be with you. If it weren't so late maybe you'd have more energy to argue, but you don't so you just start in the direction of your apartment.
"I think about you all the time," he confesses. That's bold coming from the boy who locked you out of his life. He broke up with you so why does he think he has a right to say these things to you. You have to remind yourself that he's drunk so you don't slap him across the face. "I don't think I'll ever get over you, sweetheart."
"Rem, stop talking," you say through clenched teeth. He doesn't know what he's saying and he won't remember it in the morning. Tomorrow, he'll wake up and scurry out before you wake up so that he doesn't have to face you, you're sure of it.
"I never stopped loving you. Was just scared to let you in."
There are tears pricking at your eyes but you won't let yourself cry. You won't. Because if you do then Remus will just try to comfort you and you'll let yourself get your hopes up. You don't say anything the rest of the way home.
He throws up the minute he steps out of your car. You groan, throwing his arm over your shoulder so you can help him into the house and to a proper toilet.
"I'm sorry I called you. Just need you. I hate not having you around."
"We can talk in the morning. Pull the trig and throw up so we can both sleep."
You let him sleep on the floor by your bed after he complained about the couch. Anything to just have him shut up. You don't sleep much, not when you can hear him breathing so close to you. Everything he's said tonight keeps replaying in your head as you stare up at the ceiling. If he really means any of it, he'll be here in the morning and willing to talk to you. If not, you'll block him and finally let go.

bar - @jegulus-microfic - word count: 645 - NSFW (detailed descriptions of sexual dancing but not actual sex) - sorry for flooding your inbox today, @jegulus-microfic, I really like this prompt!
"Make Regulus blush."
That had been James's dare from Dorcas.
But Regulus was a fortress. He didn't react to anything. James had been trying for months. He'd flirted, complimented, annoyed, and instigated.
The only reason he hadn't given up was because of Marlene. 'Cas says that Reg likes you back. You just have to break through his....er...walls.'
So he continued to try. But Regulus continued to reject him. He had a plan tonight, though.
Sirius had snuck off with Remus so he wasn't about to get reprimanded for resorting to desperate measures. Which he was going to do. Because these were definitely desperate times. Meaning, James was desperate for Regulus.
So he stood from his spot in their circle of friends and moved in front of Regulus. "Any rules?" he asked lightly, looking at Regulus.
"No," Dorcas answered, while Regulus wrinkled his nose and said, "No touching."
"Alright," James nodded, conjuring a chair and gesturing for Regulus to sit.
The other boy sat gingerly, looking up at him with a bored expression that said 'do your worst.'
Then, waving his wand, James made music begin.
Of course, he was not a trained professional. He'd never given a lap dance in his life, actually. But he had a feeling that didn't matter. Because as soon as the music began, a suggestive bass line filling the room, Regulus looked nervous.
"Sure this is okay?" James asked and he stepped closer.
"No touching," Regulus repeated, quieter, now.
"Sure."
Instead, James slowly circled the chair, before coming around to the front again. Grinning slightly, he straddled Regulus, never allowing their legs to touch, gripping the bar of the back of the chair behind Regulus's head for balance, before slowly guiding himself down and in.
It was difficult. James thanked Merlin for his Quidditch training, as his thighs burned from the position. But, leaning closer and allowing his face and chest to move just centimeters way from Regulus, thrusting his hips with the music, he realized it was worth it. Because it was working.
The air was becoming hot and Regulus's breath was hitching. James felt the tension rolling off of both of them in waves.
Wolf whistles sounded from around them as Regulus began to squirm, accidentally causing their legs to brush.
"I can stop, love," James murmured into his ear, knowing he couldn't do much else without actually touching Regulus.
But Regulus met his eyes and tilted his chin up slightly before spreading his own knees just a little, making their legs touch again. "Go on," he muttered. "I won't blush even if you touch me."
Grinning at the challenge, James sat fully in his lap, now, earning screams from the circle, but focusing on Regulus's face. He looked like he was concentrating, his lip between his teeth and his eyes staring across the room. "Distracted?" James asked quietly, slowly allowing his weight to pull their bodies together deliciously.
"No," Regulus grunted, still staring off.
James ran his hands up Regulus's chest and thrust just slightly, earning a shiver from the other boy. "And now, love?"
"No."
Someone in the circle whistled again and everyone was chattering and giggling.
He bit at the earlobe in front of him before mouthing down Regulus's neck. The smallest moan was detectible only through vibration, and James smiled into the pale skin in front of him. "Blushing now?"
"N-no."
But James knew he was lying. Because it was clear from the hardness poking into his inner thigh that Regulus was very distracted. So he whispered again, "Your cock seems to disagree."
Regulus let out a louder groan this time, throwing his head back a bit, and James looked triumphantly at his skin, a beautiful blush forming there. "We'll pick this up later, love," he murmured into Regulus's ear, kissing his neck lightly before standing up and facing Dorcas.
"I win."

maybe reader has some mean fake friends and james comforts her after something happens?
james saves his pretty girl from some mean girls!
“C’mon, baby, I know that’s cold.” James frowns as he tugs your top up. It’s wet, and embarrassing, but you don’t move.
Coke and vodka drip down your elbows, staining the pretty white fabric of your new top, and most notably, your pride. It’s a gross reminder that those girls aren’t your friends, they’ve never been your friends, and they’ll never want to be.
Tears well in your eyes, embarrassment mixed with shame. Girls could be so mean.
James takes a moment.
He’s seen you cry- believe him, but this felt worse. Worse than him walking in on panic induced tears. This was heavier, and more delicate by far.
“C’mon” he breathes again, his shoulders slumped. It’s impatient, but not unkind. James doesn’t have an unkind bone in his body, he just doesn’t know what do do.
You shake your head, eyes squeezing shut, letting the tears drip down your cheeks.
“My love.” He laments, taking you in his arms. “Please don’t cry.”
The embrace is a warm reminder that james is always there for you. Always has been. Who cares if some mean girls ruined your new favorite shirt?
You had other friends anyways, James thought, you didn’t need those girls. Mary, Marlene, Lily, and Dorcus, had never been unkind to you. He didn’t understand why you wanted the other girls to like you so deeply.
But he’s never been a girl, and he recognizes this morosely.
He pulls away, knocking the tears with his knuckles, and not bothering to wipe them on his shirt. “Arms up.”
You can hear Sirius and Remus kicking the girls out over the loud crowd of a rowdy party. Your lip wobbles, so early into the party and the funs been spoiled. “None of that.” James smooths the wrinkle in your chin with his thumb.
The silence following the splash of liquid had been deafening, and by far the most humiliating thing you’ve ever experienced.
You take a peak at your shirt. It’s brownish, and wet, and It’s worse than you remember it being 4 minutes ago. Is that possible? The heels of your palms come up to your eyes. “My top.” You grieve.
“I’ll get you a new one, don’t worry your head off.” He tugs on your shirt again, gentle, but it gets your attention nonetheless. “Arms up.” He whispers.
You lift them, letting James tug the shirt off and wipe down your wet arms before throwing it into the garbage pail next to the toilet. It sits on a mountain of tissue and Remus’s used contacts. You look at it hopelessly, wiping your palms of tears. “I don’t want a new one.”
He shrugs off his zip up, messily pulling it onto you and zipping it to your shoulders. Stepping back, he admires his work of an outfit change. “It won’t just be new, it’ll be better.”
He tries to smile for you.
“You didn’t like this one?” You ask, glossy eyes daring to peer at his own.
His smile drops. “Are you kidding?” He moves forward and his fingers press into your arms, messily moving up and down for the friction of warmth. “I loved that one.”
“Then how’ll my new one be better?”
He pretends to think. “You’ll be wearing it.” You scoff in disbelief and he laughs, loud and defensive, “I’m serious! I love anything you wear, especially my zip up.”
You look down at the black hoodie. “It’s a bit big, no?”
“But it looks good on you.” He shrugs.
“It doesn’t show anything.”
“You know that’s never mattered to me.” He smiles boyishly, fingers dropping to the crook of your elbows and squeezing a little tighter than before. It’s cheesy, but it works. He leans down, smile still plastered on his face as he goes for a kiss. It’s warm and sweet, but you can still feel his grin. He works his hands up to your neck and behind, avoiding the coke vodka mixture still coating your damp hair. “You know that.”
You push up his slipping glasses. “I know.”
His nose twitches, preening at the touch of your fingers. “D’you reckon they have a hair dryer?”
“Sirius definitely does.” You nod.
He giggles, dropping to his knees to open the sink cabinets. “Sirius is going to kill us.”

Coward - S.B
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sirius Black hated being a coward, but something about your presence always turned him into one. Everyone has had enough and you refuse to let him get away with it again.
Sirius x fem!reader, non house specific, mostly fluff and comedy, a spicy kiss but that’s as suggestive as it gets, yn is a bad b, drinking, 1128 words
Tumblr media
Sirius Black was many things, depending on who you asked— a gryffindor, a “bad boy”, a blood traitor, a marauder— the list went on. But one thing Sirius vehemently denied was being a coward.
“That’s literally the opposite of being in Gryffindor. Of course I’m not! He would argue.
And maybe he was right, in most situations.
But when it came to you— Sirius Black was as cowardly as they get, a fact his friends had not failed to notice.
“Mate, are you just gonna stare all night?” James questions, following his friends gaze to the same place it’s been since you entered the common room.
“What? I don’t know what you mean,” he says defensively, turning his head and tipping back the rest of his fire whiskey.
“He means you’re being a little coward,” Remus chimed helpfully from where he leaned against one of the walls.
“I’m not a coward!”
“Why’s Siri being a coward now?”
Your voice rings sweetly in his ears, and Sirius’s face lights up despite the fact that you’d just insulted him.
“Hi.”
You look at him in confusion, “hi?”
He says nothing else, just refilling his cup, and you look at his friends in confusion, only to see the same look reflected on James and Remus.
They teased him a lot about you, but they knew Sirius was good with girls; they figured he just hadn’t had the chance to woo you.
But seeing the painful interaction between the two of you they now realized they were wrong.
Your mere presence turned notorious ladies man Sirius Black into a full fledged loser in love.
“Refill?” Sirius asked, gesturing to the cup in your hand.
“Sure.”
He sets his drink down on the table and refills your cup, turning around to return the alcohol to its spot on the table before stopping and looking at the two plastic cups.
“Uh,” he looks around, hoping no one has noticed, but you’re already smirking at him.
“Forget which one was which?”
“Maybe.” He sounds dejected, and you grin, grabbing the drink you know is yours. “Are you sure that’s the right one?”
You laugh, “why, are you scared of cooties?”
“We’ll no but I-”
“Relax, Sirius, if we’re swapping spit it’s not gonna be like this.”
He blanches at your comment, but the wink you throw him as you disappear back into the crowd immediately restores color to his face.
James laughs hysterically, watching his friend gasp like a fish out of water, and even Sirius’s glare can’t make him stop.
“Dude. You’re such a loser.”
“Shut it, Prongs.”
Two hours later and Sirius has finally recovered, the liquid courage flowing through his veins as he winks to intimidated third years standing in the corner or Hufflepuffs who have made their way into the party.
“Truth or dare time!!” James bellows, and the huge crowd quickly forms into a circle.
“Lily flower, truth or dare,” he starts.
She chooses truth, knowing better than to get dared to go on a date with him.
She ends up answering that no, she does not have an unexplainable hatred for people with curly hair, just him.
She asks Marlene next, who ends up trading shirts with Peter, and Peter chooses Sirius.
“Dare. I’m no coward.” He drawls confidently, and a few of the third years look like they might just faint.
All three of his friends smirk at this, having been expecting it after riling him up about it for so long.
“Fine. Kiss the prettiest person in the room.”
‘Ooooo’s ring out from everyone in the circle, and Sirius steels his face as he crosses the circle.
The third years frown, but you grin as Sirius approaches you.
“Yn?”
“Yes Siri?” You look up at him through your eyelashes.
“Can you scoot over please?”
You try to cover your shock, moving a step to the left as he swaggers past you and straight up to— a mirror.
The boys’ groans echo throughout the room as he places a smooch on the glass and strides back to his place in the circle.
“Coward,” comes a cough from his right, and Sirius’ eyes shoot daggers at James.
“Coward,” your cough echoes his best mates.
“Coward,” Remus and Peter let out suspicious sounding coughs at the same time.
When Lily joins in, not knowing why but just liking to rile the Marauders up at any given chance, he finally breaks.
“Merlin’s bloody ballsack,” he huffs, grabbing your forearm and marching you out of the portrait hole.
He lets go of you once you’re in the silent hallway, and you look at him with a raised eyebrow.
“What?”
“Why did you do that?”
You laugh.
“I didn’t even start it! Why didn’t you drag James out here? Or one of your other best friends?”
He glared at you.
“Because you’re different!”
“And why’s that?” You challenge, stepping closer to him and looking defiantly in his eyes. “Why am I different?”
You knew Sirius acted different around you. You recognized the way he would blunder over his words or drop his quill when you approached him.
It was the same way you’d acted around him in fourth year, when you’d had a helpless crush on him and he was too busy enjoying his newfound charisma to “settle down” with just one girl.
Since then, you’d grown up. You grew in confidence (and a few other areas) and now you were sure Sirius was interested in you, even if he was too much of a coward to do something about it.
“You don’t even know!” He shouts, although you both know that’s not what he meant to say.
But you weren’t going to let him off that easy.
“Oh I know plenty, Siri.” Your face is getting closer now, and his breath catches in is throat. “If you weren’t a coward, nothing would have stopped you from kissing me in there.”
You know you’ve won before he moves, but soon his hands are on each side of your face and his lips are pressed into yours.
You let him push you against the wall, tangling your hands in his hair as you kiss him back.
He looks pained when he has to pull away to gasp out a breath, but he grins when he sees you smiling up at him.
“Now that wasn’t so hard was it?”
Your teases are shushed as he kisses you again, before dragging you back into the common room.
“Call me a coward again, pricks,” he yells as he stands on a table and dips you low to kiss you like a bride on her wedding day.
His friends cheer, and you can’t help but laugh once you’re fully upright again.
Sirius was many things— your boyfriend now one of them.

june 7, 345 words @taylorswiftmicrofic truth/dare @wolfstarmicrofic imaginary
“Alright, Pads. Truth or dare?” James asks with a smirk.
“Dare.”
There's a chorus of ooh's among their group of friends, who are each sprawled across couches and cushions or simply laying across the floor.
If Sirius hadn't chosen that exact moment to take a swig of his drink, he might've noticed the way James peered at a piece of familiar parchment by his side.
“I dare you to kiss whoever walks into the common room next,” James says.
And like the universe has been listening to his quiet prayers and longing gazes, the next thing Sirius hears is a voice from behind him, “Budge up, Pete.”
“Remus! So glad you could join us, how were prefect duties?” James says brightly, eyes flashing to Sirius and then back to Remus.
Settling in between Sirius and Peter on the couch, Remus shrugs, “Yeah, fine. What have I missed?”
“We're playing truth or dare,” Marlene says from where she's stretched out in front of the fire.
“And Prongs just dared Sirius to kiss whoever walked into the room next,” Peter says, and that's when Remus' eyes meet his, wide and vulnerable and oh so beautiful.
“Oh.”
“With their permission, of course,” Sirius is quick to jump in, suddenly finding it hard to swallow around the lump in his throat.
There's a moment of heavy silence, and then with a tiny nod from Remus, the imaginary voices in Sirius' mind that he's spent months suppressing rise up within him until all he can hear is his own heartbeat in his ears and an endless loop of kiss him, kiss him, kiss him.
And so he does, leaning in until he can feel Remus' breath against his lips, before a hand settles on his thigh and they come crashing together.
It's not until the following morning, when James catches him sneaking out from behind the curtains of Remus' bed and whispers, “You're welcome,” that it even crosses his mind that this was planned, that James had known exactly who was going to walk into the common room. Sneaky bastard.

Prompt 27 - Qualify
@wolfstarmicrofic August 27, word count 445
Remus had no idea why he agreed to follow James, Sirius and Peter down to the Quidditch pitch to watch Sirius attempt to qualify for a place on the Gryffindor team. James went to stand with the established team, Sirius with the other hopefuls, while Remus and Peter climbed the steps into the stands.
Peter left Remus pretty quickly to go hang over the edge of the railing so he wouldn’t miss a thing. Remus relaxed back, casting a warming charm on himself as he guessed they were going to be there a while.
The chasers went first. It was pretty boring to watch. James was so good, that they really didn’t need anyone but him on the team, but apparently, the rules said they had to have three chasers. It took a while but finally, the new chaser was picked and they moved on.
Next up were the beater tryouts. Remus leaned forward with more interest as Sirius took to the skies.
Sirius’s muscled arms rippled as he swung his bat at the oncoming bludger. Remus had never noticed just how big and strong those muscles had got. His mind was suddenly flooded by visions of Sirius throwing him bodily onto his bed. Of Sirius pushing him up against a wall and kissing him while those arms kept him aloft. Of Sirius grabbing his arm and tugging so hard, Remus twirled into his arms and gazed up into those stormy grey eyes.
He was abruptly shaken from his daydreaming by yelling.
“REMUS DUCK!!!!” Sirius screamed at him from the pitch. Remus had a split second to react as the bludger came hurtling towards him. He flung himself to the floor, landing flat on his stomach. He heard a whoosh and a crack above him. When he dared to look up, Sirius was hovering above him, his batting arm extended.
“Oi, Aldersley, you nearly killed Moony!” He shouted angrily at the other boy who was trying out for beater as well. The captain blew her whistle and they all landed. “Are you okay Moony?” Sirius asked before he followed the rest to where the team was waiting.
“Yeah, thanks,” Remus stammered as he got up off the floor. “Thanks for saving me,” He gave Sirius a weak smile.
“Anytime, Moony,” Sirius winked at him and sped off towards the grass where he was welcomed to the team alongside Marlene.
He really needed to stop fantasising about Padfoot. It was never going to happen anyway, and clearly, it was detrimental to his health. But as he looked down at Sirius in James's arms, he couldn't help but hope that one day those fantasies might come true.

remus lupin x reader, 1k, fluff fluff and more fluff
Remus never thought he’d ever have a life like he had now. He’d always thought he was destined to live a life of solitude, a life where nothing good and nothing pure ever dared come his way. Sure, he had his best mates and they were more than he could ever ask for, but he wanted…more.
He always felt a tiny gnaw in his gut thinking about Lily and James, Marlene and Dorcas—they were happy, they were as infatuated with each other as the day they met. He didn’t resent them, he wasn’t jealous of them, but he wanted what they had. He wanted a love as strong as theirs with someone of his own.
Never in a million years did he think he’d get the chance to have something like that.
Then you came along, and you were good and pure and about a hundred other things Remus adored. You were kind and caring and made his heart thump a little faster and a little harder against his ribcage. It took a bit of time for him to fully let you in, to fully trust you with everything he had, but you were patient with him.
From there, being with you was something straight out of his fantasies. You had your ups and downs like every healthy couple, but you always talked it out like the mature young adults you were and made up quick.
He now understood what it felt like to love someone more than life itself, to love another person so much that he couldn’t imagine a world without you in it.
Fast forward to present day, you and Remus had recently moved in with each other. It was nothing special, just a small flat in central London—but it was special to Remus. It was where you’d begun the rest of your life together only a few months ago, tiny (some would call it cramped, but you and Remus didn't think so) and a little bit weathered, but it was yours. It was home.
There were still a few half unpacked boxes laying around, but for the most part you’d settled in nicely. With that new home came a new routine too, with Remus juggling his jobs at the old secondhand bookshop down the road and handling the finances at Sirius’s auto garage. He came home late sometimes, exhausted and smelling of motor oil despite being cooped up in the back office all day.
“Rem!” You greeted him happily like you always when he stepped through the door, making your way over to where he was hanging his scarf on the coat hooks to hug him tightly.
It was always the highlight of his day, getting to come to you. His bones ached and he felt sticky and grimy, but then you kissed him and it suddenly didn’t feel like the worst thing in the world.
“Hi, love,” He replied softly, sinking into your embrace with closed eyes.
Your fingers curled into the hair at the nape of his neck, scratching gentle circles that had him melting just a little bit more. “How was your day?”
“Same as always. Paperwork, paperwork, more paperwork.” He pulled away from you, lacing his fingers through yours to tug you along behind him into the kitchen. “James brought by some Peruvian takeaway for lunch though, really good stuff—we should try it one day, I think you’d like it.”
“Oh! That reminds me, Lily rang earlier, asked if we had any time tomorrow to pop by theirs for something? She wouldn’t say what but I think she’s pregnant.”
Remus chuckled, amused. “What makes you say that?”
“Sirius said he could smell something different about her.”
“And you trusted him? He’s a knob.”
“He’s your best friend.”
“Still a knob.” He replied, pulling open the cupboard to grab a mug. “Tea?” He grabbed another one at your eager nod, busying himself with filling the kettle and setting it on the stove to boil.
You’d moved to the countertop in the meantime, socked feet swinging, thumping against the cupboards below with each movement. You were smiling warmly at him when he turned back to face you, watching him shuffle around the tiny kitchen like you’d never seen anything more interesting.
“What?”
“Nothing.” He arched a brow at you. “Nothing, I’m just…really happy. Here. With you. In our own home.”
Remus brightened noticeably, coming over to run a light hand down your arm until your fingers were intertwined. He brought it up to his lips and kissed your knuckles. “It’s nice, innit?”
“Everything’s nice with you.” You were quite aware of how sappy you sounded, but it was true. Just existing in the same space as Remus, sharing a space with him, was so lovely and comforting and everything you'd ever wanted. You traced along the scar bridging his nose, following it down his cheek until your arms found their home looped around his neck and you pulled him in even closer, kissing him softly.
He wasted no time kissing you back. He never did. Remus loved kissing you more than he loved a lot of things in this world, and he made sure you knew it with every single one.
Somewhere in the background you heard the kettle whistling over on the stove, but you didn’t really feel the need to pay it any mind. Not when he was kissing you like this, like he wanted to get lost in your touch, like he always did. It wasn’t until it started to annoy you that you splayed your palms against the soft wool of his jumper.
“You better get the kettle before it boils over.” You murmured against his mouth, barely giving him an inch of space between the two of you.
Letting out a gentle huff, Remus fumbled for his wand in the pocket of his trousers, pulling it out and mumbling an incantation under his breath with the flick of his wrist. The kettle fell silent. “Right, now where were we?”
“Pretty sure your mouth was on mine.”
“Ah yes, how could I ever forget?”

YOU’RE SO VAIN I BET YOU THINK THIS SONG IS ABOUT YOU
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: the “prelude” of your relationship with sirius black
pairing: sirius black x gryffindor!fem!reader
warnings: language, under age drinking, slight making out implications, mentions (not really) of vomitting(?)
part one || part two
Tumblr media
1. you walked into the party like you were onto a yacht
you and sirius were…acquaintances. james was one of your best friends since a very young age and he wanted to make sure his two best friends (also known as you and sirius) would get along
thats why you were at the gryffindor after party. gryffindor had just won a big quidditch match against slytherin and the common room had never been fuller
you searched for your friends through the crowd. trying to catch lily’s or marlene’s eyes in the middle of the sea of people only to found sirius black
he walked through the midst of all people with james and his others teammates, strutting around, as the rest of the room cheered and applauded that the party’s “special guests” had arrived
if you thought the common room was crowded before now it was almost unbearable. people were sitting on the stairs, on the couch, the improvised dance floor, tables, chairs, and all you wanted to do was go back to your dorm. but as you finally reached the top of the stairs you saw lily and james going in
fucking hell
when you went back to the party (you actually were kicked from your own dorm’s door by some random couple and by that point you probably had smoke coming out of your head as your face looked a lot like a big “don’t you dare come anywhere near me” warning) searching for an empty corner you actually found many
weird, you thought
sitting down you discovered where people had gone
sirius black was standing in a table chugging drinks down to the sound of sultans of swing while remus and peter just laughed, clearly onto something. you heard people making bets on how many he could take before getting dizzy and giving up
five minutes later he was already off the table, spread on the sofa you were sitting and smiling like his life depended on it
“something funny, black?” you asked expecting some sort of reaction out of him but he just laughed
“more than you, certainly” he said, switching so his body was fully facing you
you frowned at his words
“what’s that supposed to mean?”
sirius shrugged, that wide smile being replaced by a growing smirk on the corner of his lips
“I don’t know,” he said laughing “I just…” he trailed off
you furrowed your brows at his not finished sentence
when you were about to speak sirius eyes began to close, his posture relaxing as he started to drift to sleep
you almost jumped out of your sit, grabbing the closest water bottle (or something alike) at the ground and dripping drops of water on his face
“hey hey hey, you drank almost an entire bottle of fire whiskey there, if you sleep right now there’s a big chance you’ll choke on your own vomit”
sirius frowned, eyes now open
“have someone ever told you how charming you are with words?” he said with dripping sarcasm on his voice
your rolled your eyes dropping the used bottle to the nearest trashcan.
“I’m not the one moving your ass to the dorm so it’s best for you and me that you don’t pass out just yet, alright?”
this was going to be a long long night.
2. you had one eye in the mirror as you watched yourself gavotte
“I already told you pete I don’t kiss and tell!” james repeated for the second time at breakfast, which made you chuckle
“you heard him pete, he doesn’t kiss and tell” remus repeated teasingly, sending you a wink
before any of the boys could continue marlene arrived just in time, having lily and mary giving besides her. she gave you a quick hug from behind before sitting down
“what did we miss?” mary asked intrigued by yours and remus muffled laughs from earlier
“nothing much,” remus said “wait wasn’t sirius coming with you girls?”
marlene only shook her head in response
“we thought he already came with you” she said
james frowned
“he told us to ‘fuck off’ this morning so we decided to let him sleep a tad more”
as james finished his sentence sirius sat down at the empty spot next to him. funny timing, you thought. the only unusual thing were the sunglasses and already with a cup of tea in hands
a smirk formed at the corner of your lips seeing his hung over state
your friends conversations fell to silence as he sat quietly.
you finally broke the silence
“so, how are we feeling today sleeping beauty?” you teased, taking a bit of your toast
“bold of you to assume he is awake right now” james said, earning chuckled from the rest of the table
“ha ha, you’re hilarious prongs,” he said “maybe you should give it a try to the quidditch career mate, the comedy one is definitely not your thing” sirius finished
the universe had given you the perfect opportunity: making sirius black life hell for a day
- 🌪️ -
“mister black please remove your sunglasses. the classroom is already dark. I highly doubt you’re seeing anything behind those lens” slughorn said as he walked through yours and sirius table.
“you heard him mister black, sunglasses off” you murmured chuckling at sirius reaction at the sudden brightness
“maybe I should’ve spent last night moody in a corner with you” he said “it would had given me much less headache”
“bold of you to assume I would like to spend my night in your company”
“come on, dove. you know you love me” he whispered in your ear, seeing slughorn suspect gaze lingering you two “or else you would just let me drown in my own vomit anyway”
you scoffed, cheeks burning at the sudden closeness
“maybe I was feeling empathetic” you said “and my karma would be terrible if I in fact didn’t helped you”
he chuckled at that
“amen to your good humour then…” sirius quickly stopped talking landing you a note with a sad face. you looked at him, puzzled only to figure out professor slughorn staring at you two from the other end of the classroom
“yeah, yeah. whatever” you said brushing it off. or at least trying to.

Pointless jealousy | Remus Lupin x reader
summary: a guy is flirting with you and Remus has to do something about it.
tw: alcohol consumption.
word count: 766
Tumblr media
Remus had his eyes on you since each one went their own way in the party. He understood you two spent majority of time together, and that he wasn't the only person you could have fun and talk with, but there was something about that guy that he didn't like. He could smell his intentions of seducing you from afar, and it was getting on his nerves.
He had you laughing and giggling like crazy, the sight of you covering your mouth and cleaning tears from your eyes infuriated Remus; he couldn't remember you ever cleaning tears from your eyes from his jokes.
The open back door welcomed a soft breeze that raised your skirt occasionally, forcing you to pull it down. 'If he dares to look down, that's it', he told himself. The air pushed your perfume to the living room, making Remus hyperaware of your distance and reminding him you were there, talking to that loser, instead of being with him, doting him with kisses and secret head scratches.
Every time Remus turned around to check on the two of you, he would notice how the man's body got closer to yours; he crouched down to hear your replies and try to maintain eye contact. 'The music isn't so loud in the kitchen, he could back up a little bit’, the werewolf puffed.
Remus knew it wasn't your fault, you probably weren't even aware of this guy's look, or that he was flirting with you. Your head was always somewhere else, and Remus had taken the capacity of looking at someone else romantically from you, so probably you weren’t thinking something beyond a friendly interaction. If you could notice or not was not what bothered Remus, it was the audacity of that guy to look at you the way he was doing, like he was about to eat you for dinner.
Time passed and you stood there innocently talking to the guy. His hands were now holding his weight in the counter and his body was fully turned to you. Remus kept repeating himself that you only had eyes for him and having beer after beer in the hopes of relaxing a bit; he didn't want to make a scene in front of everyone, he was not like that.
Unfortunately, the alcohol did the contrary to relax him. His mind turned dizzy, and his ears shut down to James’ story about how he tricked Sirius into eating a frog alive to try to read your lips. His hands were craving the touch of your hips and the situation was starting to become frustrating. The more his rival made you laugh, the more uneasy Remus would get.
He tried to stop his feet from going over there and pushing the guy far from your face, but sooner than he could realize, he found himself getting up from the sofa abruptly. Looks from his friends were redirected to him, but he payed no attention to that, his mind was focused on your silky hair framing your smile. Each step towards the kitchen made Remus’ blood pump harsh through his body, his breathing was deep, and the sound of your laugh made him shudder with pleasure.
“And so, I told him: no, we don’t make br—” the adrenaline planted Remus sharply in front of you making the guy stop his sentence. You turned to see him with hazy eyes and a dumb smile.
“Oh! hey Remmy, this is—”
Remus grabbed your arm and pulled you near him so his lips could catch yours swiftly. A little surprised scream emanated from your throat, but Remus’ tongue silenced it; you got out of your initial shock, relaxed in his arms and dwelled into his passionate, warm kiss.
You were so immersed in your boyfriend that you didn’t even hear the guy’s uncomfortable cough; Remus smiled to himself and surrounded your shoulders with his arms in response. Provocative 'oohs' came from outside the kitchen, probably from Sirius and Marlene, but Remus turned a deaf ear and opted to slightly support your back on the counter.
The sound of steps getting further away announced the retirement of the man talking to you minutes before. Remus slowly separated from you to look into your eyes, they were shiny and semi-closed, a reflection of your drunk state.
"You are coming with me now, miss. No more laughing at other guy's jokes" he kissed the tip of her nose.
You rolled your eyes and giggled because you had no idea what he was talking about, you were just making fun of this guy's ridiculous stories!

Veritaserum
@struttingstag
May 24 prompt: veritaserum | Jegulus | 1811 words
CW: mention of past suicide attempt
James was feeling good. It was the last night before the Winter Holidays and naturally, the Gryffindors were throwing a party in Gryffindor Tower. He even convinced Regulus and the rest of his friend group to come to it, which made James smile even more than he did when he usually saw his boyfriend. The drinks were flowing and the music was blaring in all corners of the tower.
James was feeling bold since he was more than a little tipsy. Most everyone in Gryffindor knew about him and Regulus but they were still careful most of the time since you never knew who was going to show up at the party and Regulus was still in Slytherin, much to James' and Sirius' dismay. They would have rather he'd just stay in their dorm where they knew it was safe.
Regulus told James that he could take care of himself and James knew that but he still worried about him. It had gotten better though since they first started dating. When they first started, Regulus was still living with his parents and they ran the risk of anybody in Slytherin ratting them out if they weren't careful. James looked over at Regulus who was standing next to the drinks table with Barty and Evan. He knew he shouldn't but James couldn't help himself.
He walked over to the table, took Regulus' drink out of his hand, and handed it to Barty before dragging him to the dancefloor's centre. Regulus grumbled a little but let James do as he pleased nonetheless. James didn't know how long they had been dancing but Regulus had his head on James' chest as he wrapped his arms around his neck and played with the curls that hung down. That was until Sirius shouted and they both snapped their heads up to look in his direction.
"Alright, losers!" Sirius exclaimed as he stood up on the table. "Now that the younger years have gone to bed. It's time for the real fun to begin."
"What are you talking about?" Regulus scoffed before he buried his head in James' chest again.
"I'm so glad you asked, baby brother," Sirius announced with a bow and James could practically feel Regulus roll his eyes. "We're playing Truth or Dare but with Veritaserum because I know that some of you fuckers are fucking great liars and I want to know all the dirty, little secrets you've been hiding."
To say that Sirius was drunk was an understatement, especially since Remus was trying to pull him off the table and Sirius kept swatting him away. James had no problem with Truth or Dare. He just didn't know how deep the questions would go with how drunk Sirius and most of the others were at the moment, so he was just a tad bit worried. Not that he really had any secrets to tell anyway.
"I'm in!" Marlene shouted and that was all it took.
Everybody else in their little groups grumbled with their acceptance or agreed eagerly if they were Barty. They moved the table and chairs out of the way to make more room for everyone to sit in a giant circle, considering there were twelve of them between the Gryffindors and the Slytherins. Regulus practically sat in James' lap and James wrapped his arms around him instinctively.
"Okay, who's going first?" Sirius asked as he plopped down next to Remus and started to pour the shots of Veritaserum, passing them out as he went.
"Why don't you since you're the one who suggested to game," Mary replied with a small laugh.
"Alright," Sirius said with a shrug, "but who to ask first?"
He tapped his chin contemplatively before his eyes shot straight to his brother. James wasn't surprised.
"Reggie!"
"Of course he picks me," Regulus grumbled under his breath before he glared at his brother. "What?"
"Truth or Dare?"
Regulus sighed before he shocked everyone in the circle. "Dare."
"Umm, okay," Sirius faltered, clearly expecting him to pick truth. "I dare you to kiss the hottest person in the circle..." Regulus started to turn towards James because that was a given before Sirius continued, "that is not James."
Regulus glared at him again before he scowled and looked around the room. James was curious about who he would pick. It looked like Barty was expecting him to pick him but no, Regulus got out of James' lap and beelined it towards somebody else. They seemed shocked as well and Sirius jumped up to protest before Regulus turned on him.
"It was your dare," Regulus replied with a smirk before turning back and crashing his lips together with Remus'.
"That's not- that's-," Sirius threw his hands up in the air before he dropped back down to the ground and James had to cover his laugh with a cough as everybody else snickered with no shame.
Regulus walked back over to James with a satisfied smirk, kissing him on the lips right after. James smiled and wrapped his arms around him again.
"Okay, my turn. "Remus, truth or dare?"
It went like that for the next few rounds. Most picked dare and had to do silly little things that they honestly probably would have done anyway. But then it was Sirius' turn again and he looked straight at James. James sighed because he had a feeling he knew what was coming.
"Ja- ames," Sirius said in a sing-song tone.
"Yeah?"
"Truth or dare?"
"Dare, obviously." It really was the only possible answer.
"Okay, I dare you to pick truth."
Well, fuck.
"Umm, okay," James replied slowly as he tried to gauge what Sirius was playing at. "Truth, then."
James picked up the shot and downed the potion before he gestured for Sirius to ask his question. Sirius beamed at him before he spoke again and James wasn't sure how he felt about that. It seemed mischievous and like he was looking for something specific that James had never told him or that he thought James had never told him. Which honestly wasn't a lot, James would usually tell him everything and everybody knew that so he shouldn't have been surprised when all their eyes landed on him.
"What is one secret that you have never told anybody?" Sirius asked with an eager grin as he leaned closer to him.
James pursed his lips together. He had to ask that, didn't he because there was only one thing in his whole life that he never told anybody about and he never had any intention of telling anybody about for that matter. He was starting to sweat as he fought the potion and the words that were trying to tumble out of his mouth. Regulus was looking at him with concern now and James didn't want him to know. He didn't want anybody to know.
"Oh, come on. It can't be that bad," Marlene laughed.
James snapped his eyes up at her and glared. She just laughed some more as she held her hands up in mock surrender and fell back into Dorcas.
"It's okay, Jamie. Whatever it is. Nobody will judge you for it," Regulus whispered soothingly but all James could think was, 'You will.'
"Out with it," Sirius encouraged. "You can't fight the potion anyway so you're only hurting yourself more by trying."
James sighed before he looked down at his hands wrapped around his boyfriend.
"I tried to kill myself the summer after third year," he whispered just under his breath.
He never told his parents what he did either. It truly was a secret that he had intended on taking to his grave. James felt Regulus tense up in his lap. He was sure he was the only one who heard him since he was so close.
"What?" Sirius asked with a laugh. "Couldn't quite hear you."
James squeezed his eyes shut to stop the tears from forming. Everyone was laughing except for Regulus. After a minute or two, other people started to egg him on to repeat what he just said and since he was still under the effects of the potion he couldn't stop the hurt or anger that came out when he repeated it.
"I fucking tried to kill myself the summer after third year. Happy?" James shouted before he dislodged Regulus from his lap and stormed off towards the stairs to his dorm.
The room became deadly silent but all he wanted to do was get away from everybody. He made it to the top of the stairs before he heard Regulus yell at his brother.
"You're a fucking dick, Sirius. I'd suggest you don't go anywhere near him for a while. I can't believe you just fucking did that."
James heard the footsteps coming up the stairs and he was sure that it was Regulus but he shut the door anyway and made his way to the bathroom. James sat against the wall with his head between his knees and tried not to cry but he couldn't hold back the tears even if he was imperio'd to.
"Oh, baby. Come here," Regulus said softly as he grabbed James by the shoulder and pulled him into his lap.
James went willingly. He wanted to be alone but then again he didn't and if he had to be around somebody right now, he was grateful that it was Regulus. He really really didn't want to see Sirius. James let the tears fall as he sobbed into his boyfriend's chest. Regulus ran one hand in soothing circles around his back as he ran the fingers of his other through James' hair.
"It's okay, Jamie. I promise it's going to be okay," Regulus whispered.
James sobbed louder and Regulus seemed to put up a silencing charm which James was grateful for. He hated it when anybody heard him cry. He was supposed to be the happy-go-lucky sunshine friend after all. Although now that his secret was out, he wouldn't be surprised if people started to keep their distance from him for a while.
"Please, don't leave me," James whispered wetly. It was a little muffled since he had his face in Regulus' chest.
"I'm here for you, baby. I'll always be here for you," Regulus replied firmly. "And if you want to talk about it or anything, I'll be here for you then too. I'm not going anywhere, Mon Soliel."
James didn't say anything else. He just clung to Regulus like his life depended on it and cried until he couldn't cry anymore. He was sure he would pass out at some point but he didn't care. He was tired and wanted nothing more than to forget about everything that just happened.
"I love you, James. I always will."
It was the last thing James heard before he let himself let go and drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

1. Reconnecting on the Train
You sat up as the train pulled into King’s Cross Station. This school year was going to be good, hopefully. You had already taken your NEWTs last year because what else did you have to do in a safehouse but study? So all you had to do was relax this year. You looked out the window, coming face to face with a very tall, plus size redhead and next to her, an equally tall blonde with a bob. They did charades to try and ask if anyone else was in your compartment or the one right next to yours. You weren’t even finished shaking your head before they booked it.
They breathed out sighs of relief as they plopped down on the seats before disappearing the wall between the two compartments so you were one big room. The train benches were arranged to be in a square formation with an opening for the door.
The blonde with the spiky bob stuck out a hand. “Marlene McKinnon. 7th year.”
“Y/N L/N. 7th year also.”
A gasp echoed out. On the other side of James, Sirius froze up. His hand held on tighter to the taller boy next to him. He brought Remus’ hand to his lips, kissing it gently. How dare you show up here of all places? He was the main one to spend countless nights comforting the man when you left him. He had been the one to help put everything back together again and you were coming back to ruin it.
You felt the train bench shake a little bit as one of the boys on the bench with golden brown hai— “Remus?”
“Y/N?”
James went wide-eyed. “Wait, that Y/N…”
You both dug through your bags, pulling out polaroids sent years ago. Remus had to be sure. You held them up to each other’s faces for comparison. He looked different in only a year. The two of you were definitely the same people in your photos though. You were confused when his expression hardened at confirming it was you.
“What are you doing here? You stopped writing. For months.”
“I’m so sorry, babe.”
Sirius laughed from behind Remus. “That’s it. I’m sorry?”
You blinked twice, a bit taken aback by the hostility from his friends. “I’ve been a bit busy.”
“Busy? So the rest of us just don’t have jack shit in our lives?”
Fiddling with your hands a bit, you sighed. “Remus, can I talk to you alone?”
“I’m sorry but until I get answers, you have to understand that it’s a little hard for me to just go anywhere with you.”
“I’m a refugee. The MACUSA sent every new-maj into hiding because of Voldemort. Our schools grabbed us and our families in the middle of the night. We weren’t allowed to contact anyone outside. My family was rushed here because they got attacked. I’ve been separated from everyone else for their safety.”
“Y/N, are you okay? Are they okay?” Remus’ face softened.
His chest tightened as you shook your head. Honestly, you’d been putting on a brave face, telling him as much. You wanted to be a rock and a calming presence for your family during this time. And over the months, you’ve made peace with everything that’s happened. You understand it but you don’t feel like you’ve had a chance to be emotional about it. Remus jumped to his feet and pulled you into a hug when the tears started to fall. He rested his head against yours and rocked you back and forth.
“I wanted to write to you. I’m sorry.”
“Shhh, it’s alright.”
“I only found out two weeks ago that the UK was taking us in so I just decided to surprise you.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t realize it was that bad. Your letters before never…”
“I know. I tried to keep everything positive for you. I’m sorry if I made you worried.”
“Stop apologizing. It’s alright. You’re here now. Safe… Y/N, do you want to go to the observation car, calm down a little? No one’s really in there, I promise. I’ll come get you in a moment, okay?”
You smiled. That’s what you loved about your boyfriend. He was understanding and patient about the lack of letters. You nodded and handed him your stuff. He pointed out the observation car and waited for you to leave his sight before closing the carriage door.
Remus groaned. “I’m such a shit boyfriend.”
Sirius adamantly shook his head, offended that he would dare suggest that. “You didn’t know. I can’t believe she still thinks you’d be together after she left without a word.”
“Sirius.”
“He’s kind of right,” Regulus spoke up. “If I had disappeared for months, how could I possibly expect my partner to not move on?”
“She’s just not like that. We’ve talked about her friends’ relationships before.”
“That seems selfish.”
A lot of the train agreed.
Peter opened up his can of Fizzing Whizbee. “Just break up with her… again.”
“I can’t.”
“Why? Do you still love her?”
“No,” Remus answered without hesitation. “Feelings are long gone.”
“Then why not?”
“Y/N is fragile right now. Our relationship is her only stability. I feel like if I break up with her right now, it’ll shatter her.”
“I’m not leaving you,” Sirius said. “I know we haven’t announced ourselves to the school yet but this relationship means something to me. This might sound awful but I don’t care. I don’t care what she’s been through enough to leave you. I had to pick up your heart when she wasn’t there. She can’t just take you from me.”
“I don’t want to leave you either… Just let me make sure she’s on her feet then we’ll be over. Okay, love?”
“How long?”
“When we start the second semester? Is that okay with you?”
Sirius thought about it for a considerable time. “Fine. Nothing can stop me from kissing you in broom closets, though.”
Mary put away her crossword puzzles to grab a book instead. “You do know that she’ll want to be our friend, right?”
Remus nodded. “I’m not saying to not be friends with her. She’ll fit right in here, I know it. I’d like to be friends with her if we can split amicably. Just don’t tell her about Sirius and I, let us break up naturally.”
“Can do.”
“Thank you… Love, do you have any rules for me?”
Sirius thought for a moment. “Can you try not to be intimate with her? Just never initiate it. Kisses are fine, I expect that. You can even flirt. I won’t think anything of it. It’ll be like you and Lily or Mary. But no large gestures. And no calling her love or starshine or sweetheart. Those are my pet names, she’ll have to find her own.”
The rest of the train ride wasn’t sat in uncomfortable silence but social conversation. You put your headphones back in and pulled out the crochet project you were working on. Your boyfriend looked over at you, tapping your ankle incessantly until you finally looked up and took out your earbuds.
“Yeah, babe?”
“Do you want anything from the trolley?”
“Um, no, I’m good. I’m on a tight budget for now. I’ll just get another water.” You looked down in betrayal when your stomach grumbled.
“Here.” Sirius handed you a to-go bowl filled to the brim with salad. He gave Remus a sandwich filled with basically just meat. A favorite near the full moon.
“Thank you,” you said with such kindness that he wanted to roll his eyes. You leaned into your boyfriend to exaggerate a whisper. “Your friends are really nice.”
The train finally stopped at the Hogsmeade Station. You were beginning to buzz with excitement as you sat under the Sorting Hat. Your uniform changed from gray and white to splashes of red and gold as you made your way to a clapping table. A note plopped into your lap halfway through late lunch/early dinner.
Back to School Party: 1st-4th year in Gryffindor Common Room. 5th-7th in Slytherin.
When dinner ended, you didn’t want to follow the first years so you went with your train buddies that were in Gryffindor, trusting that you’d eventually find your room.
“Oh.”
Marlene and Mary turned to you. “What is it?”
“My key has the number eleven on it too.”
The girls ushered you into their, now your, dorm room. The other girls looked at each other as you unpacked in less than fifteen minutes. It was kind of sad and brought them to the reality that while they were worried about Voldemort and war, some people were already living it.
You sat down on your bed. “So, what do you normally wear for parties?”
“I don’t know about Ilvermorny but it’s about dressing hot.”
You looked at your wardrobe. “How long do I have?”

first kiss - @wolfstarmicrofic - word count: 390
Sirius's first kiss ever was when he was 12.
He'd always thought Marlene McKinnon was cool (she certainly had the best wardrobe in the year) and he decided that, as he was also cool, they'd better date. It made sense.
The kiss was fumbling. They snuck behind the greenhouses, in between class, and Sirius did everything he could to hide his nerves. Both of them had blushed, and Sirius was pretty sure he'd accidentally kissed her nostril at one point, but they'd both ended up laughing and blushing, and even though it wasn't the perfect experience Sirius had been hoping for, he chalked it up as a good, if not awkward, experience overall.
Of course, Marlene later told him that she was attracted to girls, and he couldn't fault her that. He, too, was attracted to girls.
-
Sirius's first kiss with a boy was when he was fifteen.
He was dared to kiss James, and he was not one to back down from a dare. Luckily, neither was James.
So, when their lips touched, Sirius was a little confused by how much he liked kissing James. It wasn't the James of it that he liked. No, he liked the fact that where there was usually curves, there was edges. Where there was usually smoothness, there was stubble. Where there was usually softness, things were a bit...rougher.
And after a short conversation held after the party, both he and James agreed that maybe neither of them were as straight as they'd thought.
-
Sirius's first kiss with Remus was when he was sixteen.
After kissing James, his brain had been fixed on the idea of kissing other boys. What it would be like. Feel like.
But after a while, his mind locked on to one boy: Remus.
And soon, it felt like he'd never not liked Remus. Remus was beautiful and kind and safe and intelligent, and he knew Sirius better than he knew himself. Sirius found himself staring at Remus's lips for hours, wondering how they would feel on his own. Because he had a feeling they were meant to be there.
It took ages. Arguments and mistakes and pining and tears.
But when he finally, finally was able to kiss Remus, he felt the thing he'd expected to feel all those years ago behind the greenhouse: Attraction. Love. Fireworks.
