Feeling a little defeated bc my 3rd attempt at making the Bloodborne hunter's hat out of paper is so close but the actual hat part itself is too big for the hole to attach the brim to even though I made so so sure to line all the registration lines up correctly???

I CANNOT OVERSTATE THE IMPORTANCE OF CHECKING YOUR VOTER REGISTRATION.

I just found out that North Carolina, one of the closest Presidential swing states in the country where a self-proclaimed "Black Nazi" and Holocaust Denier is running for Governor, has purged 10% of its voters.

And this same story is being repeated all over the country, on various pretexts (like not having voted/registered recently).

Republicans can't win a fair race. They KNOW they can't win a fair race. So they're trying to cheat.

If your vote didn't matter they wouldn't be trying so hard to deny it. Don't let them take your voice away.

RATING: 5 ⛈️ Sociopathic Æsir Clones out of 10

Oh boy do I understand why Civil War has been so polarizing. On the surface level it's pretty fun, everyone likes to know how their favorite characters match up against other people. I certainly think the 50 State Initiative was a really cool concept to highlight some less important heroes and teams that I wish we got more out of. It even brings up some really important and valid questions about superheroics in general, though a lot of them just reiterate the old question of "who watches the watchmen?" I'll say the lightest issue with it was the standard glut of characters that comes with big crossover events. Of the forty (?) or more people we see with a hand in this story, fewer than five really had any kind of character or personality. There was also the questionable decision to move the fight outside of the Negative Zone into the middle of the city, but I realize that was to draw the story to a sloppy conclusion. Also I know the handling of Mutants and Inhumans is consistently weird in the larger world and this highlighted that.

The big yikes comes from the political lens in which this comic was written, and how the social and political issues have just snowballed in the US in recent years. I don't have the space in this caption box to launch as deep as I could into that, and there are other comic reviewers that share my views and have put it more elegantly than I could.

FAVORITE: Sue's absolute power move of a breakup letter. Plus its coincidentally Maundy Thursday today so bonus points for Matt's Catholic Sass™️

LEAST FAVORITE: I knew going into this that Bill Foster's fridging was a divisive moment, but I had no idea that its justification was so couched in the ideology of "it's how a cop should handle that situation"

Oh look, it seems like there's a Republican-led movement to purge voter rolls in the lead-up to the election! It's almost as if your vote matters and they don't want you to vote!
