I contend that when it comes to interpreting these motifs of spiritual negativity within contemporary practical spiritual direction texts, they are often perceived as a type of negative signifier heralding an impending experiential fullness:
John’s dark night is not an empty space, although it does involve emptying, nor a barren one, although it may feel so in comparison to ‘the green pastures’ of our earlier spiritual experience.”
The problem with this interpretation is that it construes the Dark Night as a dark experience rather than a contemplation of the inherent obscurity and ambiguity of experience itself.

it think this in the point to carry on with the analogy there is choice when we face subjective destitution we can cast our eyes [points towards sky] towards an imperfect Symbolic if we are using god the father as an analogy for a wider symbolic that supposed to hold the body together than we can look at this is terms of I am going to find a big list of DSM-V terms and work this way this mean you are changing the symptom for symptom for symptom and it goes on with this chain forever you can do that that’s fine it can work and i’ve seen plenty of people do it… there is the other option where it becomes ‘sinthomatic’ where you focus on it where you realize that you are going to fall apart you are going to hit a type of psychotic experience there is a danger here but if you do the work and you focus on knotting the subtle body you can come out the other side and I think that is something the Eastern tradition as in Tibetan Buddhism has a long focus on because they got focus paradoxically on the body. Academia is a phallic competition … university discourse always masks the masters discourse which is inherently phallic the searching for phallic jouissance … I would be happy if I got this… teaching position etc. David Graber bullshit jobs in terms of navigating this phallic jouissance is great for this there is an enjoyment in bureaucracy the satisfaction of doing piece of paper and passing it on. Once you are hit with a type of destitution where the phallus is not there its never gonna be there … you didn’t have it … you are left with a choice you are left with the reduction of that destitution of the body you can change it into woman in the sense of wound man I don’t mean woman in the sense of Lacan’s I mean reducing the self into a collection of symptoms that are recognized by a masculine system by the Other and then you can have a type of existence… Or you can go down the actual feminine of the Real … the feminine as the instance of the Real or women as a symptom of man… when you end up in this situation we can end up reducing these openings or this fissures this moments into a collection of symptoms that can be recognized by a System right that’s when you become the women that does not exist right… its hard to pin down feminine jouissance like quantum physics.

Trama
Recensione
I wanted to show folks that with a little imagination you can make your life whatever you want it to be.
Because life isn't just something that happens to you, it's something you create. The trick is in the imagining.
Valutazione
★★★★★ 5/5
Note aggiuntive

"...progress is linear and based on the discoveries of the next superior biological model . Whatever the question, the reigning ideology is that the master discourses of science will find the right answer. If empirical data seem fuzzy,
the dominant view is that the next test will find the right answer.
In other words, such “thought” assumes that the body simply thinks itself ."

With the birth of the experience economy and the distribution of positive affective experientialism with its endless array of commodities and services, spiritual direction can sometimes struggle to offer itself as a discourse of difference. Moreover, as long as it operates solely within the discourse of the experiential, there is a danger of there being no difference between what it offers and these other technologies-of-the-self.
There is only a sense of quantity rather than quality. The enjoyment that certain strands of modern Christian spirituality and spiritual direction can offer is merely an object of experiential enjoyment which is supposedly bigger and better than all the rest.
The imperative, in my experimental form of non-spiritual direction proposed here, is to break free of a paradigm of experientialist certainty that perceives God simply as another object to be experienced in a world that is already primed to offer us endless other so-called transcendent experiences which ultimately result in anxiety. The paradox here is that the supposed object of experientialist certainty, by its very consumption, results in a subject of anxiousness as it seeks to hold on to these experiences via the ego. This doubt leads to an anxiety which becomes the repressed reality of this promise of experiential enjoyment.

What I think needs to be further explored is the relationship between the knot that might be interpreted as a symptom, a knot that might be interpreted as something that’s an obstacle blocking something that might call us into analysis versus the type of knotting process that you are saying it’s occurring after the psychotic break. I think we get too tied up in knots right lol every pun intended but the main point is that we tie and untie I think it’s the mystics those people … I think we come to analysis with a sea of knots with a very inefficient body I don’t mean body as in high cholesterol I don’t mean that. I mean that our own subjectivity and how it relates to holds our body together is inefficient and that inefficiency it comes out in a myriad forms of sufferings okay it can be neurotic hysteric whatever you want to call it the role of the analyst is to help the analysand to tie untie to work to tie to come with a system of knots that are more efficient that hold the self together okay and I think at certain points you might have people like myself … are you imagining actual knots its not quite that it’s focusing on these sensations [fire in the belly…weird moments of bliss/ feeling the back of your heart etc] and making them your own and integrating into as sense of self that has to be constructed okay once you construct that and impose it in the flesh you began to hold together Jesus born in a pile of shit manger and crucified mangled flesh subjective destitution the cross it’s always in relation to the resurrection and resurrection in psychoanalytic terms which is a type of a construction of a subtle body a subtle body that allows one to hold to come back together but you come back together in a way that’s different you know the resurrected christ still had spear wound but it was even greater for that and obviously I am talking about in a psychoanalytic sense here not a theological statement … CHRIST'S BODY (AND AN OTHER JOUISSANCE)- Mark Gerard Murphy) / Christian Atheism Dialogues
