I'm fine I guess, thank you for asking nonnie. I'm just weird and anxious cause I'm stuck in this weird little limbo where I'm spending my days waiting for the first big thing to drop, whichever it will be. I will have to move at some point soon, just don't know when. I may have to leave the country for work, but again I might not, that one is one big question mark. And to boost I'm kinda broke. Though days, I was supposed to be writing but things have been chaotic, sorry everyone.

UPDATE: I ain't leaving the country, now just need to wait to move out, and still be worried about the money/job situation

pathologic 3 announcement made me return to the classic game and finally play it properly! i think my favorite part of the bachelor's route is when he talks to maria kaina (or whoever's in her body at the time) and they explain that their planned Utopia isn’t even supposed to be a 'perfect' place but instead 'the mystical manifestation of a world inscrutable and inaccessible to men' going back to the original meaning of the word irl and instead of despairing Daniil fervently agrees that this kind of unimaginable leap is worth it, no matter where it actually leads

SO, something I see a lot when it comes to shadow shipping (mainly with Sonadow and Shadamy) is that the S/O wouldn't work because they "remind Shadow too much of Maria." Personally, I've always head cannoned that Cream was most like Maria (which obviously wouldn't be a shadow s/o) but really you could make that statement with any of the characters since until Shadow Gens we didn't have too much to go on in terms of Maria's character outside of hazy amnesia impaired memories... SO THATS WHY I MADE THIS COMIC!

it's been so long since I've drawn humans and even longer since I've drawn a comic that isn't shipping based so forgive me if the pacing and characters are a little weird. I'm trying. Also working on a big old character study that's really just for me to understand how to draw more sonic characters better and add my own style to it. because I want to make more comics and have a lot of ideas so, if you like shadows design in this, stay tuned for more? I guess? Anyhow take a baby shadow sketch for reading this.

(i know shadow is immortal and was created fully developed but i choose to ignore that and head canon that he grows/ages normally and is just the freaky alien part for my own personal happiness.)

showing shadow's life on the ark was such a good fucking idea. sure they're just little moments, but they've given me an even deeper appreciation for his character

I've ALWAYS wanted to see more of maria and this is exactly why. seeing how she and shadow were on the ark makes her death less of a plot point in shadow's past and more of a proper tragedy

there's something about seeing shadow be so open, to hear him admit to insecurities he's having.....it makes seeing how he acts now almost miserable. because now, we know how much of himself he's closed off to others, how much tighter he's holding onto his emotions. to me his character no longer feels like a lone-wolf hero, he feels alone

we always knew she was his purpose....now we can see she was his whole fucking world. maria never struggled with who she was (this ugly heartless creature...i'm really no different than this thing), and she had a place she was going to eventually return to (I was created here, I don't know if there's a place for me on earth), shadow only ever had her

and now, we know her. we know just how kind she was, how she looked out for shadow just as much as he looked out for her. how, while she was a bright spot in shadow's gloom, she never shied away from talking about the harder parts of their lives. and now that we know her, I feel her loss deeply instead of a vague "oh, that's sad"

shadow's side looks so empty without maria there.

thank you, from the bottom of my heart to weevildoing and the entire tptm fandom for this journey. As of writing this, tomorrow the last girl will come out.

Tptm has become one of my favorite albums by far, and every song and character is as fun as relatable and beautiful in so many ways.

It's a bit odd to think that we will no longer have any new album songs to expect; we have been doing so for long (or at least in my case) that it will be strange to just... have it complete.

Fantasy au where Furina is the princess in the tower, but also the dragon that guards it. She is hurt and distrustful of people, not wanting to be used like a trophy and a means to an end. Until a very insistant knight, Peruere, arrives, first wanting to rescue the princess for the bounty and after a while wanting to rescue Furina from her solitude.

as much as i rag on gerald, i cant deny this is gutwrenching to see. he knew making a deal with doom was playing with fire. he knew doom was dangerous. but maria wasnt supposed to.

maria wasnt supposed to know how far her grandfather would really go for her. gerald knows maria is afraid of doom. he's afraid too, of course he is—because now, doom has the upper hand. doom is using shadow as his champion, just as he said he would. and its all geralds fault.

so convinced he could outsmart doom and face no consequences, passing that burden to shadow instead. but here they all are anyway. and now his beloved granddaughter begins to see how deep this goes

also, doom speaking directly to maria is something i never thought id see in canon media. but he says to marias face that her grandfather made her friend look nonthreatening to hide what he really is. he called gerald a liar to marias face.

oh how quickly shadow uses himself to shield them too. gerald and shadow have such a strange, enigmatic relationship. sort of father, sort of son. creator and creation. manipulator and victim. but i think gerald in this game is at the point where he sees how much maria loves shadow, and has begun to care for him as well, in his own way.

just. god. i never thought id see gerald and doom see each other again. gerald cant even bring himself speak to him. maria does, shadow does. not gerald. probably because he knows any accusations he makes could be shut down with, "you're the one that accepted the deal."

Do you think Arlecchino is a little tiny bit jealous of Furina having gain her freedom from her 500 year curse but also having a chance to live as a normal person without much obligations?

Cause maybe, maybeee, Arle want to a normal life without any curse looming over her possible sudden death like guillotine and being part of a world wide criminal organization.

Just to live a life without having anything weighting you down and choose who she wants to be

You know, I would love it if we get to see shadows medical failure guilt expanded on, it makes sense he would have a lot , he has a lot of deadly, raging guilt inside of him, survivors guilt, creation guilt, the guilt of past mistakes that almost destroyed entire planets ect, and the guilt of failing someone you were medically responsible for. I want too see that guilt of failure expanded on, Shadow is the ultimate cure, he sees himself as a tool, a weapon, a twisted distortion of a miracle for someone else, a creation to surpass all else for no one but his friend, pushing himself through endless tests, doing anything he was told to do for the sake of his only friend, his best friend, the only true friend he’d know for a long time. The weight of pressure and anxiety crushing him out of fear of failing Maria , not being able to save her from the conditions she faced, not being able to cure her, not living up to the only worth he was created to have. I want to see that expanded on , I want to see how absolutely crushing that guilt of failure is, during their time on the Ark, and the awful , doubled up guilt of the aftermath , the guilt of it all rooted in his most familiar failure. its a important part of his story, and I for one would love to see it expanded on .

Sonic and Maria parallels? No. Tom and Maria parallels. How both of these peopled showed two alien boys who were alone that they mattered and deserved unconditional love, how both of their losses absolutely devastated and almost changed their respective hedgehogs forever
