Gekirock interview (July 2017)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Through "Dainippon Itan Geisha" and into the summer outdoor live, "BURST INTO A BLAZE 3": Featuring a fan-voted setlist showcasing "The Best of the Best" of the current GazettE!
After completing the additional performance of their 15th-anniversary commemorative show Dainippon Itan Geisha ‘Bou Dou Ku Gudon no Sakura’ and wrapping up the HERESY LIMITED TOUR17, the GazettE is set to host their first large-scale outdoor concert in nine years, "BURST INTO A BLAZE 3" on August 19. They’ve also announced their participation in ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2017.
In this interview, we explore the plans for "BURST INTO A BLAZE 3," dive into the much-talked-about RAD MARKET merchandise—praised for its outstanding style amid increasingly fashion-forward band merch—and hear advice from the members, who continue to command tremendous support 15 years into their career. We also discuss their thoughts on the media and advice for the next generation.
Interviewer: You’ve just wrapped up the live house tour, HERESY LIMITED TOUR17. How was it? Do you feel like your performances have become more refined?
RUKI: Hmm… Honestly, it was a while ago, so I don’t remember much (laughs).
Uruha: It’s only been two months (laughs).
Interviewer: When I watched your performance at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium First Arena (March 10), I noticed some attendees seemed a bit unsure of how to vibe with the show. Did you feel like the fans got more used to it over time?
RUKI: By the time they were getting used to it, the tour was already over.
Interviewer: The songs from your early "Itan" era have a different approach compared to your louder, more rock-driven tracks. When performing those older songs, what do you consciously focus on? I imagine the challenges are on a different vector as well. With louder tracks, I feel like the vertical axis (the beat and rhythm) is dynamically emphasized. In contrast, the songs from the "Itan" era have a sharper, more edgy atmosphere and seem to require more meticulous expression. What are your thoughts on this, Kai?
Kai: For us, it doesn’t feel like the two are polar opposites, but the older tracks have their own charm. I focused on how to interpret and express those older songs in a way that fits who we are now. I’ve never really thought of it as "this is how we are now, and that’s how we were then."
Interviewer: So, would you say you were able to play them naturally?
Kai: Yes, I think so. Surprisingly, it came together quite smoothly.
Interviewer: What about you, Aoi?
Aoi: With our recent loud songs, there’s often a balance to maintain with sequences, and they’re primarily built around riffs and power chords. But with the older tracks, the phrases had a much wider range. That’s completely different from what we do now, so it felt nostalgic in a way—like, "Oh, it’s been a while since I’ve played these kinds of phrases." Still, since those phrases came from me originally, it felt like I was able to enjoy them together with the audience.
Interviewer: The anguished guitar on "Sugar Pain" (from the 2005 mini-album Gama) left a strong impression. It was amazing.
Aoi: Thank you very much.
Interviewer: What about you, Uruha?
Uruha: The loud tracks we’ve been playing up until recently involved a playing style that focused on locking in with the rhythm. The guitar parts were largely written with an emphasis on how to make the rhythm sound powerful. But with the older songs, there were more floating, cutting-style riffs. Personally, I found the groove much harder to grasp with those.
Interviewer: The rhythms are quite unique and unconventional, aren’t they?
Uruha: Yes, that’s true. The guitar parts often feel detached from the drums, with many floating, upper-layer melodies. In our recent songs, we tend to focus on syncing with the drums, which makes the live performance experience feel significantly different.
Interviewer: It really highlighted the unique pleasure of a visual kei-style twin guitar setup, something distinct from the typical loud rock twin guitar arrangement.
Uruha & Aoi: Thank you very much.
Interviewer: What about you, REITA?
REITA: During the DOGMA era (from their 8th album released in 2015), we were mostly tuning to A or B. We hadn’t played in standard tuning or even a whole step down for a long time, so it was quite challenging to adjust. When you’re in A or B tuning, the looseness of the strings creates this specific low-end resonance. But with standard tuning, you lose that effect. Since the bass drum’s tuning and tone remain the same, I had to figure out how to compensate for that low-end depth, which was tricky. Plus, these older songs aren’t as focused on tight, vertical synchronization as the louder tracks, so while playing them, it sometimes felt like the performances weren’t locking in perfectly (laughs). That kind of frustration lingered a bit.
Interviewer: I see. Unlike loud tracks where the synchronized vertical rhythm stands out, it might have been a bit harder for the audience to catch the rhythm and fully vibe with it.
REITA: Yeah, that could be it. We even adjusted a few songs to make them easier to follow.
Interviewer: Personally, I found that elusive quality fresh and very cool. What about you, RUKI?
RUKI: Comparing now to back then, it’s like two completely different things. The way we perceive and create sound is completely different. Nowadays, we make music by changing the key to suit the situation. Back then, we had songs where the lyrics would be like this, but the music would be like that... Performing them now, I felt it highlighted what we do well today. It also brought flashbacks of our old selves, so I'm glad we went for it.
Interviewer: Let’s talk about the upcoming outdoor live show, LIVE IN SUMMER 17 "BURST INTO A BLAZE 3", scheduled for August 19 at Fuji-Q Highland’s Conifer Forest. It’s your first large-scale outdoor concert in nine years and the third one overall. The trailer mentions the theme of "liberation from darkness." Does that symbolize a desire to simply enjoy being outdoors?
Aoi: Yes, we want to enjoy the outdoor setting. That said, I’m a bit worried about the weather because last time, it rained.
Interviewer: Was it a heavy downpour?
Aoi: No, just light rain...
RUKI, Uruha, REITA, & Kai: (laughs)
Aoi: If it’s going to rain, it should just pour already. A light drizzle doesn’t even make for a good story (laughs).
Interviewer: I see. Light rain isn’t quite legendary material (laughs).
Aoi: If it had been a torrential downpour, we could’ve said, "That day was insane!" or something (laughs). I hope we can make it a memorable live this time.
Interviewer: I’ve never been to Conifer Forest before. What’s the atmosphere like?
Aoi: It’s really in the mountains. It’s located beside or behind Fuji-Q Highland, and from the stage, I remember there was nothing but mountains beyond the embankment.
Kai: It’s basically a forest.
Interviewer: A forest—does that mean it has an outdoorsy atmosphere?
RUKI: Not really. It’s closer to feeling like a sea of trees (laughs). There’s no outdoorsy or lighthearted feel to it.
REITA: Yeah, it’s not exactly "pop" in atmosphere (laughs).
Interviewer: Oh, I see. Since it’s a venue where many artists perform, I thought it might have a more cheerful ambiance.
RUKI: I think when the crowd is there, it might feel that way.
Interviewer: In the second-floor clubhouse, there will be an archive gallery titled "EXUVIA", displaying past costumes, ESP guitars and basses, YAMAHA drums, and more. It sounds like an impressive and extensive exhibit.
Aoi: Yeah, since the space is limited, we’re aiming to show as much as we possibly can.
Interviewer: How big is the space?
RUKI: It’s reasonably large. It’s comparable to a venue where you might hold a big wedding reception.
Interviewer: I recently attended David Bowie’s major retrospective, and even just seeing the costumes was captivating. Given the GazettE’s dedication to costumes, this exhibit feels like something special and invaluable for fans.
RUKI: Putting together this archive exhibit made me realize we need to take better care of the items that represent our history as a band. We should preserve them properly (laughs).
Interviewer: I imagine it will get very crowded. Are there plans in place to manage that?
Aoi: Yes, visitors will have a set time to view the exhibit. I think the staff will handle that part efficiently.
Interviewer: Like your Yoyogi National Gymnasium performance Dainippon Itan Geisha, the setlist for this concert will also be decided by fan voting. The initial rankings had "INSIDE BEAST" at number one, followed by "Filth in the beauty," "TOMORROW NEVER DIES," "Cassis," and "Hyena." Have there been any changes in the rankings since then?
REITA: There have been some slight changes. One or two songs shifted, and I think "VORTEX" climbed higher. Ultimately, singles and more well-known tracks—if I can put it that way—tend to rise to the top.
Interviewer: Did you vote this time as well?
RUKI: Yes, I did. But the song I voted for ranked pretty low. It’s a bit pathetic, isn’t it? (laughs)
Interviewer: Aoi, did you vote?
Aoi: What?! No! Why would I vote? (laughs)
RUKI, Uruha, REITA, Kai: (burst into laughter)
REITA: Because you want to (laughs).
Aoi: But it’s us who decide the setlist! That’s like tipping the scales, isn’t it? (laughs)
REITA: I know, but still... I just kind of wanted to see what would happen if I voted (laughs).
Aoi: Ah, I see. In that case, I might try voting next time (laughs).
Interviewer: How did you feel when you saw the rankings?
Kai: Lately, the songs we’ve been performing in live shows before Dainippon Itan Geisha tend to rank higher, and that makes me happy. Having tracks like "INSIDE BEAST" and "TOMORROW NEVER DIES" near the top is a good sign since they’ve become live staples.
RUKI: Yeah, it’s definitely a good trend.
Interviewer: The details for the merchandise to be sold at the concert haven’t been announced yet, but RUKI, the designs you create for RAD MARKET’s goods are always incredibly cool. I was blown away by the T-shirts from the Dainippon Itan Geisha concert, especially the use of the word "ANTITHESIS."
RUKI: ANTITHESIS means "the opposite". The new designs are going for a more sporty vibe.
Interviewer: One standout feature of your designs is that they aren’t just for live shows—you’d want to wear them casually, too. They don’t just scream the band logo across the front. Is there anything in particular you focus on when designing?
RUKI: I try to incorporate whatever trends are popular at that time. It’s something we won't be able to do next year.
Interviewer: Honestly, they look cooler than T-shirts from some high-end brands that cost ¥30,000.
RUKI: (laughs) Well, men’s clothing can get really expensive.
Interviewer: If you were to wear your own band’s merchandise, like a T-shirt, what kind of design would you want?
RUKI: It depends. The challenge is how to make a typically “uncool” band T-shirt look stylish (laughs). Even with foreign bands’ merchandise, there are some shirts that are hard to wear out, you know?
Interviewer: Like what, for example?
RUKI: Like those of recent bands. I can wear Sex Pistols, but… (laughs).
Interviewer: I think I kind of understand what you mean (laughs).
RUKI: It’s the kind of thing that becomes cool again over time. Stuff like vintage 1980s L.A. metal shirts—METALLICA or MÖTLEY CRÜE—those are wearable. It’s about wearing something that’s a bit ironically uncool.
Interviewer: Ah, that makes sense!
RUKI: Like IRON MAIDEN shirts. Those are kind of unfashionable, aren't they (laughs).
Interviewer: Yeah, they’ve got that subtle pop charm. I’ve even seen black rappers like Tyler, The Creator rocking MAIDEN shirts, and it looks surprisingly fresh. It’s become a thing for rappers to wear metal T-shirts, hasn’t it?
RUKI: Yeah, it’s definitely a trend. Apparently, there’s this whole market where vintage band T-shirts sell really well because American rappers and celebrities wear them. Some people are making a fortune selling super vintage stuff to them—it’s become this huge trend (laughs).
Interviewer: The shirt you’re wearing today is a Kendrick Lamar T-shirt, right? It’s super cool. I don’t think you can find that in Japan yet. Where did you get it?
RUKI: Yep, it is. But where I got it is a secret (laughs).
REITA: "DAMN."!
Aoi: What’s that? A band?
RUKI: He’s a rapper.
Aoi: I don’t have that kind of taste like RUKI does, so I don’t really wear band shirts much, except maybe the GazettE ones. But when I wear them to work, I end up matching with the other members (laughs). So I stopped wearing them, but now they’re the ones matching, and I’m like, “Come on!” (laughs). Privately, though, I still wear them. Oh, that reminds me—ages ago, I went to see EXTREME live and bought a T-shirt as a souvenir for RUKI. But I’ve never seen him wear it (laughs).
RUKI: It’s safely tucked away in my collection (laughs).
Aoi: In the unfashionable section (laughs).
RUKI: No, no, it’s great (laughs).
Kai: I’ve never bought a band T-shirt myself, so I wouldn’t know. But if I did, I’d probably focus more on the design than the logo.
REITA: A while ago, I was looking for a MÖTLEY CRÜE shirt. But the ones I wanted were crazy expensive—like *¥30,000 because they’re vintage. And the ¥3,000 ones just didn’t appeal to me.
*¥30,000 ≈ €184
Interviewer: I kind of get what you mean.
REITA: Still, spending ¥30,000 on a T-shirt feels ridiculous, so I didn’t buy it in the end.
Interviewer: Do you think 30,000 yen is too much for a T-shirt?
REITA: Of course! It’s expensive, isn’t it? (laughs)
Aoi: Wait, we’re talking secondhand, right? It's called vintage (laughs).
REITA: Ah, yeah, I guess so.
Aoi: Still, ¥30,000 is too much.
REITA: Right? I’d even hesitate if it were brand new.
Interviewer: I’m looking forward to the new RAD MARKET merchandise announcements. Are the member-produced food items still in development?
RUKI: Yeah, we’re planning to do a taste-testing session soon.
Interviewer: The Fuji-Q live sounds like it’s packed with festival vibes and exciting ideas—I’m really looking forward to it. Also, you recently announced your appearance at ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL. That was a surprise, considering that visual kei bands have only recently started performing at these kinds of events. (the GazettE will perform on August 11th.)
Uruha: Yeah, it’s a completely unknown experience for us. I imagine it’ll have a very different vibe from something like "LOUD PARK" or "KNOTFEST," which makes it exciting. I’m picturing it being somewhat similar to Hokkaido’s RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL.
Interviewer: I feel like the so-called “Japanese rock kids” will probably enjoy it pretty openly. Plus, the atmosphere is great—peaceful and relaxed.
Aoi: That makes me feel a little less nervous (laughs).
Interviewer: Going back a bit, how did you feel about your performance at last year’s "KNOTFEST"?
RUKI: Well, we did our best (laughs).
Uruha: I think the audience reaction was better than how I personally felt about it.
Interviewer: In your previous interview (from the March 2017 issue), RUKI mentioned that modern visual kei, with its core in loud rock, seems to have "hit a ceiling." I found that insight to be very sharp. I interviewed a band that has openly expressed their admiration for the GazettE, and they incorporate elements like 7-string guitars, Djent, and progressive styles, with a high level of skill. It made me wonder if that’s the natural direction loud rock evolves toward. I've also spoken with other visual kei bands and even some fans, and I often sense a feeling of insecurity or complex about being associated with visual kei. After celebrating your 15th anniversary, as a leading figure in visual kei and someone who guides future bands, could you offer any advice to those who might feel unable to proudly say they love visual kei or don't feel confident about it?
Aoi: Hmm, honestly, we don’t really care about what others think, so I don’t have any words to offer (laughs). But I think it's good for each person to do their own thing in this scene. In the loud scene, for example, when a certain style becomes popular, like Djent, it just becomes saturated, right? That "follow-the-leader" mentality isn’t necessary, you should just do things your own way and let them fade or evolve however they will.
Interviewer: Loud rock is also starting to settle into certain formulas, but it still manages to endure over time, doesn’t it?
Aoi: But that's not so easy for visual kei. There are people doing their own thing in their own way, and if those people can survive, I think that’s all that really matters.
Interviewer: How about you, Kai?
Kai: Well, I’m not really in a position to say much... but what I think is that there’s something cool about sticking to one style. That’s why I like bands that stick to their style.
Interviewer: Do you mean in terms of their musical style?
Kai: Both, actually. Including their attitude. I don’t really get deeply involved with other bands, so I can only comment from a superficial perspective (laughs).
Interviewer: How about you, REITA?
REITA: If we're talking about the kids who can't feel proud of being part of visual kei, I don’t understand why they can't say it with pride, but I guess that’s just how they feel. That can be a good thing, though. "Visual kei" is a name everyone knows, but not many people are fully immersed in it, and maybe that’s what's good about it. Also, when people say things like, "Visual kei shouldn't be at this kind of festival," that actually makes me more motivated. I think it becomes a driving force.
Interviewer: So, you’re saying that complex feelings can be turned into motivation.
REITA: Exactly.
Interviewer: What do you think, Uruha?
Uruha: I can’t really offer advice, but I think if someone can't proudly say they’re part of visual kei, it's actually proof that they're self-aware, and I think that's pretty smart. We’re doing the core of visual kei, but when we were younger, we were very edgy. In that sense, I think the younger generation is a lot smarter. It doesn't matter what others think—this is a world where no one will guarantee anything for you, so it’s best to just do things the way you like.
Interviewer: What about you, RUKI?
RUKI: Not being able to take pride in visual kei… Well, I guess I don’t really care about anyone else outside of us.
Interviewer: During the live performance at the National Yoyogi venue, you made a declaration to "proudly continue in visual kei," which sounded like a statement of commitment to the visual kei scene.
RUKI: I’m not really interested in visual kei as a "scene." To me, "visual kei" is more like being an inventor—something that encompasses makeup, costumes, packaging, and everything related to visual presentation. So, it really depends on what you mean when you say "visual kei."
Interviewer: I think it’s also about the fact that your background is rooted in the visual kei scene.
RUKI: Visual kei itself has become so subdivided, so we’re just us, and others are just others. That's why I don’t have any advice to offer. Of course, we’re grateful when people say they like our music.
Interviewer: I don't know if it's just coincidence, but almost all the bands I interview or meet in venues say that they've been influenced by the GazettE.
RUKI: What do they say they like about the GazettE? Like the era?
Interviewer: It varies by era, but a lot of them talk about the spirit of the band, and they speak passionately about it. For example, many people thought that visual kei was synonymous with bad musicianship and lack of technical skill. But after attending a live performance, like the "Shikkoku", they realized how good you actually are! They were surprised by not only the skill but also the high level of sound and production. If you actually saw the live show, you wouldn't have any bad feelings, right?
RUKI: I’m grinning, actually (laughs). It really depends on what part of us they like. When people become fans of a band, some of them fall in love after reading an interview, and some after watching a documentary.
Interviewer: You mentioned that some people become fans of a band by reading an interview, but I feel like lately, there are fewer people who develop a liking for a band from reading an interview. Over time, media has changed, and now there are more outlets, especially with the rise of the internet, but the content often feels the same, like the same types of questions being asked. I say this with some self-reflection, and I realize this question might sound strange, but since you’ve given many interviews, do you have any thoughts about the types of questions that get asked?
RUKI: It feels like media has shifted from magazines to the internet, but the questions haven’t really changed since the magazine era. I hate to say it, but the questions I hear from the inner circle, the ones that are specialized in visual kei, aren't very interesting to read. In the past, I was often asked about personal things. But then again, not all fans necessarily want to hear about the music side of things. What people are most interested in is the mindset or the emotional side—what we’re thinking or feeling. Personally, I pay attention to those aspects. For example, interviews with bands that are disbanding are often very awkward, and I find the way that tension comes through quite interesting (laughs). Things like that—a glimpse into the true nature of a band—is what I find interesting.
Interviewer: Do you all read media interviews? What kind of articles are you interested in?
Aoi: When I read band interviews, it's rare for me to get a bad impression of someone.
Interviewer: So, it's usually non-offensive, right?
Aoi: Oh, I see what you're saying (laughs). Well, I don’t really end up disliking anyone after reading their interview, but I’m not particularly drawn to them either. But I think non-offensive, neutral responses are the best.
Interviewer: What about you, Kai?
Kai: Hmm, if it feels like they're just saying ordinary things, I’ll just pass it by (laughs). It’s more common with people who are older, but there are some who say very nasty things, right?
Interviewer: That's certainly true (laughs).
Kai: Whether it's for better or worse, I tend to pay attention to people like that. I end up getting more and more immersed, thinking, "Why did they say that?" "What’s the reason behind that statement?" I find that interesting.
Interviewer: So, you want to know why they said it. How about you, REITA?
REITA: I’m going to say something that might not be the best... but I don’t really read interviews in print. I do like video interviews, though. I enjoy paying attention to how they say things, their tone of voice, the pauses, their phrasing—those are the things I find cool. But when it’s in writing, I find it hard to know how seriously to take it. It’s a bit difficult for me to tell how much of it is genuine.
Interviewer: Hmm... That hits a bit close to home...
Aoi: But sometimes, when (the interviewer) transcribes it, they make the artist sound like they're using a really formal tone, right? (laughs). It makes it sound like they are being really condescending. I'm a bit taken aback by that. Like, "Whoa! I'm not saying that at all!" (laughs).
Interviewer: I see (laughs). How about you, Uruha?
Uruha: Personally, I don’t really read band interviews in magazines. Instead, I read interviews that come with scores. I’m more interested in comments about their performance, the playing itself. I’ve never been that interested in the mental or emotional side of artists.
Interviewer: So, you were originally more interested in the craftsmanship side of things. How about you, RUKI?
RUKI: I don’t really read other people's interviews, but sometimes I do read interviews that show up on my Twitter timeline. They’re often from different genres, and when I read those, I think, "Wow, that's impressive." There are statements where people say things like, "I’ve got nothing left to lose." The lack of responsibility in their statements is so clear, and I really like that.
Interviewer: Yeah, interviews with idols can sometimes be really surprising.
RUKI: That feels like it’s closer to their true nature. Also, I find articles about foreign artists interesting.
Interviewer: For example, Corey Taylor of SLIPKNOT criticizing Donald Trump, although not many media outlets report on that.
RUKI: I really like stuff like that. Trent Reznor from NINE INCH NAILS is really critical of the music industry. He’s a huge name, and even though he’s making his own music with a lot of passion, he says things like the music industry is dead, it’s rotten, and there are no inventors left in the industry. I think it would be amazing if people in Japan were as bold as that. Like, "Sorry, but it’s over!" (laughs). It’s hard to find that kind of honesty in Japan... When it comes to artists, it's about whether they’re going commercial or staying true to their art. Watching how that unfolds is really interesting.
Interviewer: I’ll take that to heart. I've always felt that things that are inoffensive are less likely to catch on to people other than fans.
RUKI: Yeah, album interviews are usually the least interesting (laughs). Part of it is the times we’re in. Back in our day, there was a certain thrill in digging deeper into things like spirituality—or the deeper mindset behind what they were saying—or not saying.
Interviewer: These days, you can usually look everything up online right away. I also feel that the GazettE is really good at using social media, but at the same time, it must be difficult. Are there things you’re careful about when it comes to social media?
RUKI: I try not to say things as if I’m always right, though it’s not like I actively remind myself to do that. I just try to avoid saying unnecessary things, since there are so many different people out there.
Interviewer: It’s a tough situation, right? Especially for famous people, who are under so much pressure regarding compliance these days. I’ve noticed, although this doesn’t involve the GazettE specifically, that on social media, there’s a never-ending debate among live kids about live manners. I often think it's pointless.
RUKI: I used to be the type to speak up about live manners. I don’t do it much anymore, though. Back in the day, if something came up, I would write long posts about it.
Interviewer: Do you have any thoughts when you see debates about live manners?
RUKI: Since I’ve been the one to bring it up in the past, I kind of feel like, "Can’t people just enjoy things normally?" I do think people should be more mindful. Sometimes, you have to say things strongly for them to be understood.
Interviewer: I sometimes think that maybe these things can only be solved by not engaging in debates at all.
RUKI: Hm... I wonder if it’s because of the way society has shifted that things have turned out this way.
Interviewer: From a fan’s perspective, what the members say is absolute, right? So, maybe instead of vague statements about manners, it would be better if the band clearly set some rules.
RUKI: That's right, it’s the same for every band. If you don’t want to cause trouble, then don’t say anything. But if you’re okay with causing trouble, then go ahead and say it. I think it’s tough for bands playing in live houses, though. The places where we always have trouble are live houses, too.
REITA: I think it’s because we also play in halls.
RUKI: Right. So this problem will probably continue forever.
Interviewer: But it’s a bit contradictory, isn’t it? Going to a live show is a positive experience, and you’re basking in the afterglow, but then you open social media, you might see something like, "There were people with bad manners!"
REITA: That's really unpleasant, isn't it? I don’t understand the idea of trying to make everyone know about someone. If it’s about a specific person, just tell them directly.
RUKI: REITA has spoken (laughs)!

My skz concert experience that nobody asked for.
I just want a place to detail my memories while some are still fresh in my mind. Lol.
March 27, 2023.
Tumblr media
First off, it was raining when we were going inside, hella stairs, was about to (and tempted) to water slide down the steps to our seats.
The girl next to me was kinda rude and kept giving me dirty looks but it’s okay because I’m on my way to her mom’s house as I type this ;)
Tour is titled Maniac. Of course they were gonna play Maniac. It was secured on the setlist. It was so fcking epic though.
THE SPIDER LEGS DURING VENOM WERE SO FCKING RAD.
-okay the notes are out of order from this point on lol-
Felix basically taught us about the water cycle after Muddy water. Science class 101
Chan: “Let’s give a round of applause to the kids for how good their english was!” (He said Something similar to this)
My mom: “this mf did not call them kids knowing they are around the same age”
It’s in their name, lol
So for context, skz played a game team vs team (who can get louder screams) and Changbin’s team lost- (btw it was team muddy water and I couldn’t hear the name of the other team because ppl screaming lol but for the sake of this, I’m gonna say Changbin’s team lol)
Changbin: I took my shirt off and still lost. I’m never taking my shirt off again.
Chan: We already take everything off
[Either before or after, fever dream goin crazy rn]
Seungmin: LOSERS 😆
Seungmin said the crowd barking makes him feel tough.
I forgot to press record for Easy and gave my phone to my brother and noticed it wasn’t recording until after the song 💀 It’s okay, it’s in my core memories.
A piece of confetti fell on me during haven and I fcking screamed as if it had Changbin’s number on it or smth 😭😭😭 my most down bad moment of the year thus far. Lmao.
I saw Changbin smile and was done for the night.
Felix kept winking, mf made me forget who I belonged to. (Joking, joking haha)
Minho is so fcking fine. Dude was GLOWING. I’m so close to blocking them on everything since he wants to be THAT fine.
Minho & Chan performed Drive. My mom knows btw so it’s not like she was gonna scold me as if I wrote the song. She caught on when Chan was like “the city is pretty big and open”. Not necessarily mom-friendly but we’re gonna let that slide.
Chan said Red lights was an adorable song. Everyone and their families SAW the ribbons, honey bee.
Phone gave up when I tried getting one last picture lol. Pfft. She went on a strike but it’s okay, that lil bitch. (Talking to my phone)
Idc I was showing out for Seungmin. The whole fcking crowd was. We do not play when it comes to Seungmin. And I will continue to show out for Seungmin.
Hyunjin sang Ice cream and I did not deserve to hear it, the mf is so pretty and I love Ice cream and I am unworthy but it’s chill, we ball.
Still kinda upset Minho dropped the ps4 controller in the little movie thingy. I’m sorry but those are expensive, I know y’all are rich but that hurt my soul ily still though.
Btw if I’m wrong & it wasn’t Minho, I will take the L. But PLEASE let me know. Like I said, fever dream is going crazy rn and I’m only writing these notes as I remember them. PLEASE let me know if I’m wrong.
I miss Jeongin already. His English (as is the others) is hella good and you could tell he and the others took the time to learn it so I hope they know they did great. The crowd chanted ‘I.N’ and he smiled and I think y’all should continue to do that.
The effects were so fcking cool and Jisung- I could feel his energy from where I sat. He never comes to play, and I hope he (and the others) sleep well tonight and that the sleep hits good.
Felix is the rizzly bear. Count rizz-ula. The rizz-ologist. Dude has W rizz. How the hell did he pull everyone in the venue in 2 seconds?
Felix also said he wanted to live here… honey, ily, but I can guarantee you that you do not. Respectfully. It’s a dumpster fire. Respectfully.
Felix also said “I didn’t even say anything yet” when the crowd screamed before he could speak just because he came on the big screens. Lmao.
Changbin was standing infront of one of the big screens while Seungmin was talking and my dumb ass saw Seungmin’s face zoomed in and tiny Changbin in the corner beside Seungmin’s face and I thought they had editors that shrinked Changbin. No one said I was smart okay LMAO
Idk how to explain it but seeing Changbin felt like drinking water after waking up at 3am. And before y’all (whoever decides to read this) are like “is that good or bad?” It’s good. Don’t lie. I know y’all like quenching your thirst.
BITCH THEY PLAYED HAVEN AND LIKE IDK IF YALL KNOW THIS BUT THATS THE SONG THAT CHEERED ME UP THROUGH A BAD TIME IN MY LIFE AND HEARING IT LIVE???? AND HEARING CHANGBIN’S VERSE (don’t get me wrong, I am ot8 as fck but Changbin is my ult-) I was about to cry. Like I’m about to rn actually. Literally I would’ve loved to hear ANY skz song live but this is the one song I hoped for and they supplied. So yeah.
THEY PLAYED HAVEN AFTER MY PHONE DIED HHHHHH I HAVE NO EVIDENCE BUT IF THERES A VIDEO ON YT OR ANYWHERE PLEASE LEMME SEE :((((
I even avoided ‘setlist spoilers’. If that’s a thing.
They made us bark (respectfully, I refused to bark 😤), they made us meow (I also refused to meow 😤), but I did NOT pass up Haw’ing to Chan’s Yee. I will never pass up a yeehaw, as a certfied yeehaw. However, Chan has yee’d his last haw. (Joking)
Oh yeah Chan asked if any of us rode a horse before and if it was for fun. I know we are yeehaws but bruh, that’s yeehaw to another level. (There were a good chunk of ppl that said yes. Respect.)
I COULD SEE CHANGBIN FROM WHERE I WAS SAT AND THATS ALL I COULD EVER WANT. HE LOOKED SO HAPPY AND HANDSOME. I’m about to get really down bad so I will pause and suppress it.
I collected some of the confetti because skz were shooting it out of cannons. That’s like the closest thing to merch I was able to afford.
Skz (multiple members) were like “hey, if we come back, will y’all come back too??” And ofc my broke ass said yes. Chan’s buying my ticket though so it’s secured. Sorry y’all.
FAM goes hard live. I also loved the backgrounds for each song. Production team was NOT lacking.
The band that played behind them, they are so talented too. Miroh is already a hype song but this band, we let them cook and they SERVED.
My ear drums are still vibrating but I will not complain. I knew what I signed up for the second I put myself through ticketmaster hell <3
My throat also took a nosedive off a cliff. I was about to pass out just to make Seungmin happy. When he says make noise, I’m using my voicebox until it’s begging to rest.
My arms are tired. Like FATIGUED but the lightstick stays up when they say “put your hands in the air” bye.
Also happy birthday to the stay two rows in front of me :) (I saw your sign) 💜🫶
Seeing skz always feels like hanging with friends. I know that’s very delulu of me, but yeah, the past two shows I’ve seen them in, they were always very crowd inclusive and like, idk, I felt safe and like nothing bad would happen.
I have hella PCD now though. Goodnight. I will add things as I remember them lol

Subject: its a dangerous bussiness walking out your front door Time: 2:09 am. ive been thinking so much about mortality lately. i dont know why. skip this if you are looking for pictures of boys in mario suits. i have been having a hard time of dealing with things on a daily basis. just the most normal decisions seem like so much to me. like i imagine a car crash and then what if you had made the decision to not get in the car or walk. like its always there but not really. i need a scarf and a hood to keep these thoughts quiet inside my head. right now they are telling on splotched eyes. its embarrassing. ive been having dream night after night of dying alone. it is the worst thing i can think of right this second. god. i hope i get it together. i hope everybody does.
EDIT: the glue isnt even dry on the pity party invitations. but i mean "die alone" in the sense of that is what happens to anyone, at least anyone who isnt clutching the hand of the person that loves them at that moment.
there is gonna be an accompanying portion on the back of the new cd--- i dont know know how to explain it... but its definitely going to address alot of this.

February 7, 2002
“my fascination with life begins and ends on her lips.”
welcome to the story of those down on their luck- we’ll make the worst feel pity for us. we’ll start a band and everyone in the room will chew the fat until they choke. i’ll just wish i was in different skin the whole time. we won’t wait for you tonight. we’ll start the van and leave this town wasted behind us. tonight draw the curtain and watch us mock those who smile and nod like everything is alright.
blah blah. nothing much to say. we are out one van, one drummer, and one practice space. i think the shows for this weekend are off. that sucks.
deadxstop number something is out now- it’s pretty sweet ass. thora birch is extra hot. i’m scared that i’m gonna lose one of my bestfriends over a fucking band.
and she took a stab at reason and ambition on her way out the door so i don’t want them anymore.
i won’t wait for you tonight.
love pete

“this as an expirement, has failed.”
so i have been waiting to write an entry in here until: a. i was in a better mood and b. when i had something to write about Arma. neither has really happened.
“you want to know who i really am? yeah, so do i”
i have been in a bad mood all week. kind of like i feel like i miss someone or something but noone is gone- just kind of lonely. i cried for the first time in years the other night, it was ultra lame- i don’t recommend it. i don’t know. i figured it was partially cause my mom was out of town for awhile and i’m a total wuss, like i eat only cold cereal until she returns. i dunno i feel like i need to figure myself out and the people in my life aren’t really giving me that chance, cause they’re scared they’ll lose me or for whatever reason- i think i’m going crazy haha. but that’s not it- fall out boy has been recording for our full length all week, its pretty bomb. it’s funny how tattoo studios and recording studios are the only places where you pay to pretty much hang out half the time- like the dudes just sit around most of the time and then sometimes work, it’s pretty hilarious if you think about it. anyway, i tracked bass yesterday and it sounds fresh so check it out when it comes out.
as far as Arma goes, we have dropped off a couple of shows as we get ourselves resituated- we are going to record a jam or two on march third with the new drummer. i guess we can release who it is now, Andy from racetraitor will be taking over roadwarrior/god of thunder duties for us- if you remember racetraitor and kill the slavemaster than you know this kid can play crazy good- think heavy. hopefully, we will still be on the bloodlet show in march to unleash the new fury. we’ll then look at our touring schedule and all.
do you have people in your life that are just too nice to you? it drives me insane. they just do shit for you all the time regardless of what going on, they’ll always be there?
anyways, this one made no sense. i promise i’ll give you a better one soon.
i’m gone like virginity on prom night.
petey
ps- count chocula is just cocopuffs with marshmallows in it, don’t believe the hype.
February 24, 2002
“even if i crashed my car into a wall or weighed myself to the bottom of the sea-”
i would still find a way to disappoint you.
dude. i have to say matt fox is one of the nicest guys in hardcore hands down. we went to shai hulud the other night and those guys were so cool. we talked about playing some shows together and other nerdy stuff. my friend tony plays drums for them now too which is rad- if you see them harass him for arma angelus. word.
we’re practicing this week and recording some stuff on sunday for our friend philly shawn’s comp. if you get a chance go check out the site www.spookcityusa.com - shit is fresh.
badjournal entry. sorry i am in a good mood. nothing to bitch about. i’ll catch you peeps later.
twenty years from now- arma angelus reunion:
chris- the dude will be like 47 and saying he’s still 19. the fonz isn’t cool when he’s old and fat.
adam- still pissed at the world. teaching a class or leading a cult, choose your own adventure.
todd- rocking out in some shitty bar with the killing tree- still.
pete- lives at home with his parents. goes to shows where the girls stay the same age. seriously it’s not cool, he is still in college.
andy- in jail for something or another. keeps the edge, loses his anal virginity.
still full of hate.
in between the sheets my eyes are clumsy, our limbs are tired and pretty entwined. tommorrow the phone will be a noose. goodnight is goodbye.
love pete

Weedeater w/ Telekinetic Yeti & Restless Spirit and Possum Rot Live at Grantski Records!
On March 19th, Grantski Records announced that stoner metal legends Weedeater w/ Telekinetic Yeti & Restless Spirit would grace their stage on the final slot for their current tour. I knew this show would sell out or get close to it. Having these three metal bands play downtown in Augusta, GA is a huge deal for the metalheads in the area. Grantski Records has been booking some killer metal acts of all kinds since they built the stage in their record store. And since then, metal bands have kept coming to tear up downtown Augusta. This Saturday evening was no different with this wicked lineup that melted some minds with each blistering performance. Many thanks to Evan at Grantski Records for keeping his commitment to revitalizing the scene in downtown Augusta, GA.
Kicking off the evening was one of my favorite Georgia metal bands, Possum Rot. Possum Rot is a stoner metal band from Augusta, Georgia that formed back in 2017. The band consists of Matt Poppell (vocals/guitar), Tyler Milford (vocals/bass), and Evan Grantski (drums). They have released four (4) singles to date: “Do It Again”, “Pestilence”, “Smoke”, and “Prisoner of The Dirt”. Imagine if Black Sabbath and Red Fang had a doom/sludge metal love child, then that could describe the power that Possum Rot exhumes while on stage. This would be my second time seeing Possum Rot after finally getting the chance when they opened for Bongzilla last year at Grantski Records. I still feel guilty for not catching Possum Rot perform all these years, but you must start sometimes I suppose.
Check out their socials and consider giving Possum Rot some support on Instagram and Facebook. Follow this link to Possum Rot’s Official Bandcamp page today and give them some support!
Restless Spirit is a stoner/doom metal band from Long Island, N.Y. that has been active since 2018 and signed to Magnetic Eye Records. Restless Spirit consists of Marc Morello (bass, Paul Aloisio (guitar/vocals), and Jon Gusman (drums). They have released three (3) LPs, four (4) EPs, and one (1) single. Restless Spirit took the stage and proceeded to rip through a set of some of their most powerful songs for the crowd at Grantski Records. This was my first time catching Restless Spirit and I was excited to see them perform in such a small, intimate venue. The energy they proceeded to give the crowd while performing on stage is electric and I recommend you take the time to check them performing live or on any music streaming platform.
Check out Restless Spirit’s setlist from their Grantski Records performance:
·         “Judgement and Exile”
·         “Marrow”
·         “Miserable Existence/Unrest”
·         “Cascade Immolator”
·         “Lord of the New Depression”
·         “From the Dust Returned”
·         “All Furies”
Head over to Restless Spirit’s Official Bandcamp page today and check out some rad tunes!
Telekinetic Yeti is a stoner/doom metal band from Dubuque, Iowa, making heads bang since 2015. Telekinetic Yeti consists of Alex Baumann (guitar/vocals) and Rockwell Heim (drums). They are signed to Sump Pump Records and have released two (2) LPs with Primordial (2022) being the latest release. Like Restless Spirit, this would be my first time watching Telekinetic Yeti, and this performance did not let me down. I know a few people in attendance who have never seen them perform like me and left that night as fans of Telekinetic Yeti. For a duo, Telekinetic Yeti can pack a mighty punch and get very loud. In a few weeks, Telekinetic Yeti will make another appearance in my column when they open for John Garcia (Kyuss/Slo Burn/Hermano/Unida/John Garcia and the Band of Gold) at The Masquerade in Atlanta later in May.
You can see Telekinetic Yeti’s setlist from this evening’s show below:
·         “Ghost Train”
·         “Abominable”
·         “Stoned and Feathered”
·         “Ancient Nug”
·         “Toke Wizard”
·         “Stoned Ape Theory”
·         “Himalayan Hymn”
Show them love and check out Telekinetic Yeti’s Bandcamp page to stream some of their music.
Wilmington, N.C. natives Weedeater, a stoner/sludge metal band, was founded in 1998. Weedeater consists of founding members Dave “Dixie” Collins (bass/vocals), Dave “Shep” Shepherd (bass), and Ramzi Ateyeh (drums) who joined the band in 2019. Weedeater has released five (5) LPs and has been signed to the French record label Season of Mist since November 2013. “Dixie” Dave Collins has been a part of some seminal bands in the stoner/sludge metal genre such as Buzzov*en, Bongzilla, Sourvein, Barstul, and Hail! Hornet in addition to being a founding member of Weedeater.
And now for the grand finale featuring the mighty Weedeater! What started with one of my favorite Weedeater songs, “Hammer Handle”, became one of the most ruthless Weedeater sets that I have seen. We were even treated to “God Luck and Good Speed” and back-to-back “Wizard Fight” which are also two songs from their discography that are always great to see live. We even had a special guest appearance from Black Tusk’s drummer James May on the Lynyrd Skynyrd cover “Gimme Back My Bullets” near the end of the night. I saw many smiles from people in the crowd as Weedeater performed a set of songs from their brutal discography.
Check out Weedeater’s setlist from this evening in Augusta, GA:
·         “Hammer Handle”
·         “Mancoon”
·         “Turkey Warlock”
·         “God Luck and Good Speed”
·         “Wizard Fight”
·         “For Evan’s Sake”
·         “$20 Peanut”
·         “Dirt Merchant”
·         “Jason… The Dragon”
·         “Monkey Junction”
·         “Time Served”
·         “Gimme Back My Bullets” (Lynyrd Skynyrd cover w/ Black Tusk’s James May)
·         “Weed Monkey”

ASSS PROMISED!
hey yall...  just woke up and i've watched every rerun of every american reality tv show with spanish subtitles that bogota has to offer.  (celebrity apprentice is on now. Cyndi Lauper is fierce).  it'd probably be nice to get outta the hotel but we're kinda surrounded. not sure that we'd actually get to see anything. it's bittersweet, you know? i'd rather have fans everywhere be stoked that we came to their city to see them than not care at all. i mean, sure, i wanna go do touristy things in every city but the best experiences are the shows.. and we wouldn't have a show without people to play for. so i'll take that compromise!
we only have 3 more shows left before we head back home. WHAT? this tour has gone by extremely fast. it's been amazing to come back to some of these places for the second time and extremely overwhelming to get the responses we've gotten. especially in all the cities we've never played before. we met one guy the other night in Peru, named Roger, who joined our fan club in Feb. 2007. that's pretty much when we started the fan club!! he waited all that time just to meet us and see us play a show... i can't even tell you how incredible that feels... and when he walked up to us at Meet & Greet with these big tears in his eyes, I almost lost it. he asked to come up and sing with us and OF COURSE we said yes.
check that shiz out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9ZpX6pwreo&feature=related
i almost cried again just watching this. hahah i'm such a baby. he broke my heart in the best way. i've just never seen anyone get so completely lost in our music the way he did on stage. it was humbling and real. we all felt really grateful to meet him. so if you're reading this Roger, thank you!
in other completely unrelated news, i've been trying to do my Pure Barre dvd on tour. not as consistently as i'd like but... well, enough to know i'm doing it. my ass is literally burning en fuego right now. i couldn't really recommend this work out to dudes - cause it could be super awkward if you're not into ballet or pushing your pelvis forward all the time - but i will say that if you're looking for a good workout that is low impact but with quick results, get on this stuff! and then on the opposite end of that spectrum... i would like teleport myself to LA and get raw chocolate pie from Native Foods. it shouldn't even be possible how good it is. somehow it is.
and back on Paramore planet we have some rad stuff planned for the rest of the year. i actually just amazed myself with the whole Paramore planet thing. and not in a good way. who am i? anyways, as everything unfolds and becomes more official, we will let you guys know. hope you'll be as stoked as we are.
enjoy your day!! talk later hayley

Philadelphia 29/3
March 30th, 2009
Day One off tour…jesus christ, i wrote “off” instead of “of”…things have got this bad already? Anyway, we woke in New Jersey. I don’t understand why we stayed in NJ, the day before and of the Philly show. It meant two pretty long journeys, desperate to pee, but WHO AM I to question the judgement of a tour manager. Especially one so fine as Joe Puleo. Actually, come to think of it, I think he insinuated we’d get robbed if we stayed nearer to the gig, or something like that.
Some Notes:
Previous Philadelphia experiences of ours had been quite lame. One show at an awful club where we got our spare tyre stolen (fair enough Joe), and another at Johnny Brendas, which was an okay, if uneventful, show, but sadly in an area where there was not a lot to do. Fishtown?
South Street was really cool.
Great falafel from some place called ‘Chickpeas’. Turned on the old English charm and got some free fries given to us. Never seems to fail (even if it’s never intended).
HAIL STORM!
Repo records was really cool. First time I went in they were playing Swans, and then the Fever Ray album. I got the Mi Ami record, which I have yet to listen to, but the stuff I’ve heard on their myspace is rad. They’re touring the UK soon, and OBVIOUSLY we’re away on tour ourselves so have to miss it. Sob.
Best of all in this store…I found an illegal Los Campesinos! bootleg DVD. I think this means we’ve made it. It was a (n actually very good recording) of our show in the little room at Amsterdam Paradiso last year, ingeniously entitled “Knee Deep In Amsterdam”. I need to get a camera so I can capture these incredible moments.
We finally got to play with Ponytail. We’ve been trying to do a show with them for a long time, and it often seems the best way to see a band you want to see is to work out playing a show with them. They were really lovely, friendly guys and their show was awesome. So tight, and intricate and fun.
Also, we met up with Sky Larkin for what Katie informs me is our 4th tour together. Two UK, one mainland Europe, and now the US of A. We played, like, our 8th ever show with Sky Larkin. In Bradford. It’s so great that we’ve journeyed through this so-called Music Biz together, BFFs.
Speaking of which, Patrick and Ian G of Titus Andronicus made the trip to see us. They say they’re touring the UK again soon, and I THINK we’re even gonna be home to see it, so they’re totally coming to stay with me at my Mum’s house. Party times.
Two beautiful people brought us food. Young Griffin brought us oatmeal cookies and a blueberry cake that I’ve not allowed anybody to eat yet, because it’s too pretty to spoil (and I want it to myself) and a really cute girl who brought us animal-free Pumpkin cookies. I think we have the nicest fans in the world.
FINALLY…I think I’m gonna try to not get drunk for a week. I feel pretttttty rough today and if I was less wasted I might have more interesting things to talk about. We’ll see…

A Grown Ass Man Dump (Shrimper) (released in 2003)
This is Dump’s fifth album (I’m not counting EPs here) and it, like the previous entry Women In Rock, came from Grapefruit and it is brand spanking new.  I discovered Grapefruit distributed Shrimper because I almost bought a copy of this album on eBay after a dealer knocked the price down like they do for people who either look more than once at an item or save it in their “to be watched” list. But it was used and I believed there were surely copies on discogs cheaper and in better condition.  The copy only sealed copy on discogs was twice as much from some dealer called Rad Dad Playhouse who I see on ebay and I’m no fan of his (I think he puts an argyle sock in every photo or some dumb thing like that).  Anyhow, I clicked on the Shrimper link on discogs and went to their website.  They had a list of where one could buy their products and Grapefruit was one of those sites.  I buy from Grapefruit two or three times a year (Simon Joyner owns the label and I buy too much of his work) and I went to their site to see what they had in stock and this brand new copy was a mere $9.99.  No tax involved (I think), no shipping costs and I ordered it on Wednesday night and here it is in my hands Saturday.  (Simon is in Europe touring and I can’t read the signature on the thank you note included--they always include a thank you note.)  That is quick delivery.
Above you see the front of the digipak and then the gatefold.  That third shot is the back of the digipak.  (By the way, James McNew didn’t do the artwork here, but that is based on his rabbit character.)
Below is a shot of the gatefold opened up without the CD in place.  Then you will see a close up of the inlay tray so you can see the picture underneath.

And the last thing you see is the CD.

Written November 21st
Warnings: Rape, nightmares, panic attacks, ptsd
Pairings: Mammon and Maddi, Mammon and Lucifer, Mammon and Satan
Type: Angst | Hurt/Comfort
Words: 3250
Summary: Mammon tries to say no, but Maddi only hears yes.
At least his brothers are there for him in the aftermath.
Somewhere in the back of his mind, Mammon was aware of Maddi's presence in the Devildom.
He wasn't sure why she was there, or why she was allowed to access RAD, he'd never paid attention to that kind of thing. It didn't concern him, so he didn't need to know. Simple as that.
It didn't even cross his mind until he finished stuffing a folder into his overflowing locker, slamming it shut with a loud bang. He spinned around, ready to speed walk to his next class. But, when he spun, the face of a certain redheaded girl caught his attention.
Maddi leaned in, her breath hot against his face. In a seductive tone, she spoke, "Why hello, Mammon."
He took a step back, which ultimately did very little as she moved closer to him again, "U-uh, hey!"
"You're nervous," She smiled devilishly, brushing her finger against his cheek, "I like that."
He leaned away from her touch, trying not to flinch, "Is there somethin' ya need? 'Cause I ain't got anythin' for ya."
If he was smarter, he'd have noticed the lust in her eyes, "Aw, your accent is so cute! Although, I'm gonna cut to the chase. I'm a mere human witch, I know nothing of the Devildom. And Lucifer was quick to say that you'd be reliable if I ever needed any help. So, I'd like help."
Once again, she was way too close, "'Kay? I don't know whatcha want me ta do? Take ya on a tour? My schedule ain't empty."
He heard the warning bell ring. He still needed to get to class! But, as he turned away, Maddi grabbed his arm, pulling him closer to her, their noses just about to touch, "I havta-"
"Shhh," She moved her finger to his lips, "I'd like to get this arranged first, Mams."
That was weird. He wouldn't even consider her to be an acquaintance, yet she's using his nickname? One that his siblings rarely even used?
"Lucifer will have my hea-" She tightened her grip. Her nails would be piercing his skin if not for the thickness of his uniform jacket.
Their noses were now touching, as were their foreheads. He felt unbelievably uncomfortable, yet didn't know what to do. The bell had also rung, Lucifer will be so upset!
Maddi's poisonous voice sounded, "I don't know the first thing about this place. How about you come over to my place after school...."
Her voice trailed off, fingers crawling up his arm, making him shiver in fear and disgust, "You could, I don't know. Answer a few of my burning questions..."
He tried to force himself out of her grip, "No, thanks, I think I'll just head to class now!"
"Ah-uh," She looked him deep in the eyes, "You will come over to my place, directly after school."
Something akin to Asmodeus' charm washed over him. He didn't even notice it. It made him comply, made him think that this was just gonna be an innocent meeting.
She let go of him, slowly walking off.
Mammon turned around, heading to his class. The teacher was upset, but let it go. It wasn't the first time he was late to a class, and it wouldn't be the last.
○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○
"If you've finished the paper you can hand it to me on the way out, if not, just turn it in tomorrow," His teacher spoke kindly, collecting papers from his classmates.
Mammon handed her his paper, smiling at her, "Thank you, Mammon! See you tomorrow!"
She was probably his favorite teacher. She was always understanding. And best of all, he wasn't failing or close to failing this class.
He'd always had a way with mathematics! Gambling and handling money a ton will do that to you.
He marched out of class, stopping once he reached his locker. He had to use two hands, holding stuff in while pulling his backpack out. Luckily, he got it without dropping anything. He then pulled anything else he may need out of the locker as well, Shoving the items into the backpack.
As he started to walk away, his D.D.D buzzed. He stopped, pulling it out of his pocket.
Maddi: Can't wait to see you! ;)
Oh, yeah. He told Maddi he'd come over. We'll, that could be fun in itself. So, that's alright.
He opened the House Of Lamentation group chat, typing a quick message.
Mammon: Maddi invited me over! See ya later!
He didn't bother looking at the replies. Maddi sent her location, he went.
○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○
Maddi's room was very average, nothing too eye-catching. However, what he did notice was Maddi splayed across her bed. She was wearing pajamas, clearly. She had on small, thin, white shorts that barely covered anything. Then a black silk tanktop with spaghetti straps. She clearly wasn't wearing a bra either. Which, normally he wouldn't mind, but it was odd as she usually did wear one.
He looked around awkwardly, "Uh....I thought you wanted to learn more about the Devildom?"
"I do, I do," She said, almost panting, "But first, I'd like to learn about you."
Maddi stood up, walking over to him, wrapping herself around him. When she was fully straddling him, she moved to kiss him.
Mammon quickly flinched back, "Woah! Hey! I said nothing about sex!"
"Oh," She purred, lips brushing against his own, "Didn't you?"
Maddi murmured something under his breath. He couldn't make it out.
The side effects of the spell hit him. He was frozen.
Her lips moved against his own, but he did not move back. She smacked him, causing him to gasp. And as he did, she took to opportunity to slide her tongue into his mouth.
He tried to get her to stop, but his arms and legs were frozen. His lips were captured, so all that came out were pathetic 'Mmmm!'s.
Mammon tried to speak, his words didn't even resemble 'Stop'.
She grabbed his arm, guiding him to the bed. Apparently, his limbs could move, but only to her command.
She pushes him onto the bed, sitting on his lap.
He whimpered sadly as he noticed his hard. Why did bodies work like this? He didn't want to be hard! He didn't want her on him!
She started moving her hips against his. He couldn't stop the moans, neither could he stop the tears. He wanted to move his hand to cover his mouth, hide the moans of pleasure. Because he wasn't feeling pleasure, his dumb body was!
His shirt was thrown off, he couldn't do anything to stop it.
Maddi dragged her finger down his chest until she reached the start of his jeans, "No! Stop!"
Mammon was sobbing helplessly, there was nothing he could do!
Harsh fingers undid hid button and zipper, "Get off! Please! Stop!"
She moved off of him, only to pull his pants completely off, throwing them off to another corner of her room, "You look so desperate right now!"
Maddi squeezed his hard, making him whimper, "You like that?"
"No!" He yelled, "Get off of me!"
She pulled off his boxers. That was it. He was completely naked now. He was completely vulnerable to her. There was nothing he could do.
With haste she pulled off her top and bottoms. There wasn't even underwear.
She shoved multiple fingers inside herself, quick to prep. As she was about to lower herself onto him, she had a better idea.
Quickly Maddi jumped off the bed, digging through her closet to find an item.
His face drained of all color when he saw the item. A double sided strap on.
This was worse. This was so much worse.
She shoved one side into herself, moaning and gripping the closet door.
Then, she returned to her spot above him, "No, no, no, no, no! Don't! Anything but that! Stop it!"
He tried to yell at her, only for her fingers to get shoved into his mouth. He tried to spit them out, to bite them, but she only got off on that. So he just let them sit there. There was no other option.
"Ready?" She said slyly.
No! He was not ready! She didn't even do the slightest bit of prep, she wasn't using lube, and worst of all, he didn't consent to this!
She harshly shoved it inside of him. He yelled, sobbed, screamed. Nobody heard his desperate pleas. They hardly even made their way, as she kept her fingers in his mouth.
She moaned as she moved. He screamed, his throat hurt, his body was stiff. The strap on grated horribly against his insides. He could tell that he was bleeding. It hurt! It hurt really bad!
"Stop.....please...." His cries died down. He was dissociating, trying to escape the moment.
Mammon couldn't hide a moan when she hit that one specific, terrible spot. She smirked, continuing to hit him there.
He felt that horrible heat forming in the pit of his stomach. He was moaning in pleasure, pain, and desperation.
He tried his hardest to hold it in, not give her the satisfaction. But, he couldn't stop it. He came with a loud sob.
Maddi moved her hand, stroking what was now flaccid back to its hard.
He sobbed loudly. His vision was blacking out. He saw glimpes.
She stopped eventually with the strap on, riding him instead. The entire way through he screamed and sobbed. His throat was bloody. Everything hurt. Her nails scratched him harshly, she bit him. He was covered in bruises and cuts.
Everything cut in and out, his sobs making it through to his brain. Eventually, when he cut back in, she was gone.
He sat up, trying his best to hold in a sob, but failing. He gathered his clothes.
He didn't want them anymore. He'd probably rip them up, burn them. But, he didn't want her to keep them for her selfish perverted needs.
He had to wear them one last time. He sobbed as he pulled on the boxers. Same with the shirt and jeans.
Where did he leave his shoes? At the entrance? He didn't want to risk running into her.
He looked around frantically, noticing a small window. He could fit, surely.
Mammon slide it open, jumping out of it. The window wasn't high up, especially not for his demonic body. Yet, with how battered he was, it still hurt, a sob escaping him.
It was morning. She used him all night. Another sob. The cold air chilled him to the bone, the t-shirt not helping.
He took a step, whimpering at the pain. He had a heavy limp. He choked on sobs, wishing to suppress them.
The journey home was slow, but he did make it.
He stopped in front of the door, trying his best to hold down the sobs, wiping tears away. He took deep breaths. He needed to compose himself. His brother's didn't need to be burdened with this.
Once he felt acceptable enough, he opened the door. He tried to dart to his room, yet he was quickly stopped.
Satan stepped in front of his path, "Where were you all night?"
"With M-" He couldn't choke out her name, "I told you guys."
He was so close to breaking. He couldn't let Satan see him that weak. He's supposed to be his strong older brother.
"You look like you're about to cry," Satan's face was full of worry, "Are you alright?"
"Yes, now leave me alone!" He yelled too loudly. Before a tear could leave his overflowing eyes, he ran up the stairs, slamming his door shut and locked behind him. Mammon collapsed onto his bed, screaming into his pillow. Sobs overtook him.
A panicked thought came to him.
He had left his D.D.D.
He started to freak out. She had it! He didn't even have a password!
In his frantic mind, he failed to realize the easy solution at first. He used his magic, teleporting it back to him.
Mammon didn't look at anything on it, setting it on his nightstand.
The magic took everything out of his already exhausted body. Reluctantly, he feel asleep.
○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○
She found him again! She snuck into his room. She was mad. Her plaything had left her.
She wanted more of him. She took and took, using him until he couldn't sob anymore.
Her fingers grazed against his inner thigh, "Wouldn't you like to go again?"
He darted up, screaming, "No! STOP! PLEASE!"
He choked, quickly submitting to a panic attack.
"Please, please, please, stop!" He whimpered and moaned.
He was dying, he's for sure. He couldn't breathe. Air scrapped against his lungs.
His doorknob jiggled, "Mammon! Are you okay!"
"Go...Away!" He forced through harsh breathing. He didn't want anyone to see him like this. He was their strong older brother! He was the idiot scumbag! He wasn't someone to be pityed!
There was a knock on the door, "Mammon, you aren't okay! Do i need to break this door down?"
He wasn't sure who was at the door. When they knocked again, he screamed.
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" He sobbed horribly, curling into himself.
No more noises came from the other side of the door. They had left. He wasn't sure if that was good or bad.
This continued for a week. He'd wake up screaming, sobbing, and somebody would come. But, eventually they understood, leaving him alone.
They left meals outside his door. He tried to eat once, but he just threw it up. He didn't try again.
He didn't cry anymore. He felt numb. Nightmares plagued him. Everytime he closed his eyes he saw her.
Mammon only moaned and groaned in pain. No other sounds left him. He spent his days laying on his bed, wondering if he'd ever be clean again. He didn’t even spend any money. How unlike him.
He'd showered finally on the second day, having enough energy to do it. Though, he'd just sat on the floor, eyes wide.
The fifth day he'd gotten hard. Just normal body functions. It happens sometimes. But, it made him scream. He threw up, sobbing. That was the last time he'd cried.
It was the eighth day since. He didn't know what to do anymore. His stomach screamed for food, his head pounded, he felt numb.
Maybe he'd die like this. That would be nice.
○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○
All of his brother's were worried, it wasn't just Satan.
But, Satan was the last one to see him before it started. Before the hiding, before the moans, before the screams and sobs.
He would never forget that day. Mammon's face was full of terror.
None of them were idiots. It was obvious what happened.
Maddi didn't understand the word 'no', and Mammon had spent that night with her. Plus, if his cries of 'get off me!' And pleas of 'Stop it! You're hurting me!' Were anything to go off of, it was clear.
It made Satan sick to his stomach. How could anyone do such a thing? Let alone a human! They were supposed to be better than demons!
And, why to Mammon? He didn't even do anything! Sure, he could be scummy, but nothing could warrant what she did. Not a single thing.
He gathered everyone in the living room. It had been eight days since it happened.
They all knew what he called them for. Sadness drenched all of their faces.
"What are we supposed to do," Satan broke the silence.
Everyone knew what he was talking about. They were all painfully aware.
"My room is next to his," Levi sounded like he was going to cry, "Even with all my soundproofing, I still hear it. I want to do something, help him. But, he won't let us."
"I'm kicking down his door," Lucifer gravely voiced. Heads turned to him in alarm. Yet, they all agreed.
The brothers slowly made their way up the stairs, scared of what is yet to be discovered.
The eldest instructed the others to stand back as he kicked. The door fell down easily, and with surprisingly little noise.
A horrific sight lay before them. Mammon was on his bed, surrounded in a puddle of his own vomit. He was gripping tightly at his stomach, shaking, whimpering. Tears ran down his face at a terrifyingly fast rate. Every few seconds he gasped sharply for air.
How could they let it get this bad?
All of them quickly ran to his side. Panic spread, nobody sure what the right move was.
Lucifer picked him up, Mammon needed out of the disgusting, wet bed.
As he did, Mammon thrashed, screaming, begging, pleading, "Please! Let go of me! I can't take it anymore!"
Lucifer's eyes clenched in guilt, he picked up his pace, rushing Mammon to his own room.
He quickly laid Mammon down. His cries quieted down, turning into soft sobs instead.
Mammon was radiating heat. Lucifer didn't want him to gain a fever as well. It would only add to the delirium. However, he couldn't remove any clothes without panicking him further in this state, or any state. So, he resulted to the only sane option, a cold rag.
Lucifer stroked Mammon's cheek gently, he flinched softly away before leaning into it. The eldest moved his hand, running it through the younger's hair. Mammon sighed in relief. He'd clearly been craving the soft, kind touches.
Once he looked up, he noticed Satan sitting at the end of his bed. The blonde had tears streaming down his face.
"Satan, you can return to your room now," He tried to keep his composure.
"I'd like to stay," That was all he said, Lucifer allowed it.
○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○
Satan slept on the end of Lucifer's bed, Lucifer falling asleep against the headboard.
Mammon lay in the middle. He looked smaller. He looked broken and tattered. But, most of all, he looked strong.
He didn't know what he would do in Mammon's situation. Nothing legal, that's for sure.
If Maddi could do that to a sin, she had become too powerful; too much of a threat. If she was just powerful, that didn't warrant much. Realms didnt like to cause anything with one another unless warranted. This was warranted.
Mammon is very important to the Devildom; Maddi did something illegal to all Realms. She deserved death at best.
Lucifer would notify Diavolo, he was sure. Barbatos's rumored torture chamber may even be of use.
Either way, she was not getting off easily.
He was sure of that.
○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○●○
Instead of waking up to his own screams, he was at peace. He looked around, Satan laying at his feet, Lucifer against his right arm. He was extremely comfortable.
Part of his body screamed to get the touch off of him. He needed this comfort.
He pulled Lucifer closer, snuggling into him.
Satan's tired voice startled him, "How are you feeling?"
He'd be lying if he said he was feeling much better. He still felt like shit. But, at least, he had someone here with him now.
He looked Satan in the eyes, "I'll be okay."
Mammon outstretched his hand, gesturing Satan closer. Satan obliged, cuddling up onto his side.
He sighed an exhausted breath.
"Thank you," He forced out.
"But, we left you alone for so long?" Satan questioned.
"You only listened to my pleas," Mammon reasoned, "I can't hate you for that."
Neither of them spoke.
Satan snuggled against him even more.
Mammon drifted off into a deep sleep. One that would not be plagued by nightmares.

New single from Act III, “The Fight,” is now streaming on all the platforms. Click this link and pick your poison. We’re already up to like 30,000 plays on Spotify, so that’s something like 50 dollars! About 4 of us are gonna get to eat a burrito with that chunk of change (the other 4 will starve)!!! But seriously, we’re glad you’re all seeming to like it. There’s plenty more where that came from.
Cover design and new logo done by Caspar Newbolt with artwork by John DeLucca. I think they did a hell of a job, if I do say so myself.
And yeah… James Cameron may have beaten us by getting Avatar 2 out before we could release Act III, but mark my words, I almost somewhat guarantee that we’ll have Act III out before Avatar 5! The gauntlet has been thrown, Mr. Cameron. Come at us.
—FIGHT MERCH— Like that Fight art and new logo? Get it on some shirts! We’ve got a regular coal colored (nearly black) Tshirt, and girl-style scoop Tshirt to choose from.
Tumblr media
And on top of that, we’ve got a pretty rad new raglan sweatshirt (raglan is the only way to go with sweatshirts. Believe me, I’m an expert).
Tumblr media
We’ve also got a pretty awesome windbreaker (with some rain protection) pullover with silver-ish print. This sort of a jacket is a first for us, so let us know how you like it by buying it or not (whichever is funnier).
Tumblr media
**please note** this new FIGHT merch will not ship in time for the holidays.
—CHICAGO— Our 2 shows at Reggies with Cybertronic Spree are now super sold out and we couldn’t be more excited to get back to Chicago for some Italian Hot Beef Sandwiches!…. and shows. See you there!
—EURO TOUR— And let’s not forget our upcoming Europe and UK tour! Get to a show and you’ll hear “The Fight,” as well as some other Act III jams. So get your tickets and help spread the word over there. Send your friends the link to “The Fight” to see if they like it and then bring them to a show even if they don’t. Maybe bring them to 5 shows. While you’re helping us with promotion, go ahead and start requesting “The Fight” at your local radio stations. And call in to TRL and demand that Cason Daly puts us on the show. Then Google who/what Carson Daly and TRL are.

Now that “The Fight” is out there, we’re gonna do the holiday thing for a bit, but then get right back into the studio at the start of the new year. Feeling good about this one.

I was told to extrapolate to Fallout
First: Marika and Radagon are Glowing Ones that kept their sanity in a Vault that leaks rads.
Second: the greater will is some fucker squatting in Vault Tec Regional Headquarters that's been sending messages to the vault since the bombs dropped. Two fingers and Elden Beast are reps from Vault tec that were doing a tour when bombs dropped. They are in charge of interpreting whatever get wired through. They made Marika Overseer.
Godfrey was a waste lander that got into the vault with his gang of knights and no one wanted the fuss of actually kicking him out so they let him stay.
Godwin, when the vault opened up later, befriended the dragons-- aka deathclaws.
The Tarnished Long March was Marika hoping Godfrey could sus out what the fuck Vault Tec was playing at.
Omen in this are just a mutation a la fo76, they're just visually interesting in terms of being fucking huge. They still have horns, they're just better cared for because even if there were a shunning ground in the Vault, humans can have cutaneous horns anyway so managing them isnt wild. The vault doctors just had to limit visits, per The Beast.
Rennala is a scientist, and the Academy is still a college but banned study into rad weaponry.
Rykard gene spliced himself and shot up with FEV. Man is a mass of irradiated flesh in a basement that Tanith feeds mercs to.
Ranni essentially yoinked a synth body that was going to be used to replace her mentor and uploaded herself. Godwin wanted in, but in a synthetic deathclaw that she rigged together for him. The process glitched and left Godwin in a coma.
The twin prodigies Malenia and Miquella cane about just before full ghoulish happened. Miquella may have implanted Malenia with something to mimic VATS once her eyesight started to go. He didn't clarify.
Godwin helped the twins found Halig, a settlement of their own, before his coma.
Blaidd is literally just a doggo with unnatural int skill. Iji is a very old merc that keeps watch on Ranni at her "rise" aka she lives in a nice tower overlooking the academy. Adula is a deathclaw she tamed while learning about them for Godwin. Seluvis is an institute guy. Has a bunch of inactive synth bodies and maintains Ranni.
Everyone still hates him.
The Roundtable is another vault but it's considered haunted as shit bc it kinda is.
Roderika is just a very gifted gunsmith. Hewg is still a blacksmith.
The Shattering is Marika breaking the comm hub to Vault tec and the runes are components. Yes this is the weak part but its midnight and I'm brainstorming.
Torrent is just Like That
Melina gives The Tarnished a pipboy in exchange for escort to Lyndell, the settlement around the vault.
Morgott assumes all wanderers are there to raid the vault, but Radagon sealed himself, Marika, and the Beast inside ages ago.
The amber egg is a snow globe now.
Rya was gene spliced and no one actually gives a shit. Tarnished earnestly asks if shes part deathclaw.
Patches is one chem addiction short of being an actual raider.
The wandering traders all carry rad rifles.
someone better get with me on these Fable/Elden Ring ideas before i start extrapolating this shit to Fallout
because i’ll do it
i’ll fucking do it and that’s a threat

Love, peace, and harmony, or: how I fell in love with The Courteeners
March 26th, 2009
Two years ago, it seemed I bumbled around interviews talking about how much I hated specific bands. It’s not that I like those bands now, I just realise how stupid a topic of conversation it is. It wasn’t entirely my fault. A lot of music journalists (primarily in the UK) very much saw LC! as fitting a gap they had, and so a lot of interviews we did were primarily intended to get us to talk about how British music was in a rut, ‘lad rock’ sucked and how nobody else ‘got it’ like we did. I guess we found it edgy and exciting at the time, to be seen (even by just a few) as being renegades, but now it’s mostly a little embarrassing.
Tumblr media
Last night I went to see Morrissey play at Webster Hall. The Courteeners opened up. The Courteeners rose to prominence (?) in the summer of 2007 I think. We were in the US for that time, and when we got back from the UK and I saw some magazine with them on the cover (NME, maybe?), I had no idea who they were. I felt like my Grampy.
I stood on the balcony, watching their set, right next to their parents. After every song, a gent who I think was probably the singer’s father, wooped “come on Liam! Give it to ‘em”. Exactly like my dad does when he watches us play (sometimes my Dad calls me Liam). And the mothers danced and clapped along out of time. And smiles didn’t leave their faces the whole half an hour (The crowd’s reaction to the band was indifferent. It was always going to be though, because Morrissey fans don’t want to see anybody but Morrissey, do they?). The parents looked so proud. And that feeling of being thousands of miles from home, watching your sons play their songs in front of a couple of thousand people in New York City, cannot and will not be beaten, I’d imagine. And the feeling of seeing your parents that proud is pretty rad too. So yeh, I’m making even more of an effort not to slag bands any more. Because we are all our parents’ children, or something, and it’s fucking boring, and it’s much more productive to talk about the positives, anyway. RIGHT BLOGGERS!?
ANYWAYS, MOZ.
Was good. Here are some notes:
$9 for a bottle of beer is fucking disgusting Webster Hall. As if a $75 ticket wasn’t insult enough.
Opening with ‘This Charming Man’. Can’t remember being overcome by such uncontrollable smiles in a long time.
Morrissey’s band is amazing. The five of them were never completely overshadowed by Moz. Surges to the front of the stage, rockstar poses, balancing guitars on their heads. It was a SHOW!!
I watched an episode of Home Movies on my iPod whilst waiting for the music to start. It was the Pizza Club one. Really good episode.
Idiot man at the bar: “what is this spoken word stuff playing? Who put this on?”. MORRISSEY PUT IT ON, YOU R-TARD!
Morrissey: I think you should wear a belt. Middle aged men in light denim without a belt just makes me think of Clarkson.
Might get quiff.
One of the worst practices in the music biz: making support bands price match the headlining band’s merch. Come on guys.
Morrissey has a PETA stall traveling on tour with him. This is the coolest thing I have ever seen Moz, well done. But when are you gonna go vegan? [citation needed]
Watching people try to get onstage to touch Morrissey is the closest thing to religion I have ever experienced. I’m gonna try to touch Morrissey when we play at Coachella.
At the back of the balcony, too far away to see, girls ballroom style danced, together. Amazing.
Here’s a clip of Moz playing ‘How Soon Is Now’. It’s only about 60 seconds long, because it suddenly dawned on me:
“I am at a Morrissey concert, and I’m taking a really shit quality video, watching the song through an inch square screen, so I can put it on my blog, what the fuck am I doing, LOOK WHAT I’VE BECOME!! I am here alone, this song is SO TOTALLY ABOUT ME!! Work with it.“.
