I've been struggling with a
loss of appetite lately.
Just my nerves.
No bueno when you work with your body physically and work out daily too and your muscles need some serious fuel. 💪
So I thought maybe if I cooked a special and extra delicious meal prep, perhaps it would bring back the desire to eat. 🤤
Here are the results of my culinary experiement: Asian lettuce wraps 🥬 with ginger, onion, garlic, zucchini, water chestnuts, wagyu beef, 🍖 Sriracha and hoisin sauce. 🔥🌮
I even made the hoisin sauce from scratch too, nice and spicy just the way I like it. 🥵
Although I didn't have the traditional bean paste, I just improvised with other ingredients in my pantry.
And here's the H-sauce recipe below. 👇
Hoisin sauce:
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 Tablespoons molasses
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
2 Tablespoons peanut butter (organic PB)
2-3 garlic cloves finely minced
2 teaspoons siracha sauce
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
1 Tablespoon water
1 teaspoon cornstarch (I used arrowroot instead)
✨ In a small saucepan over medium high heat whisk together the soy sauce, molasses, sesame oil rice vinegar, peanut butter, garlic, sriracha, and pepper.
✨ In a small bowl combine water and cornstarch. Whisk it into the sauce. Continue to simmer until it starts to thicken. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
This sauce is super tasty and goes with just or on about any and everything, either Asian or not.

Headaches, in particular intense migraines used to be an everyday part of my life. When I had a corporate job and before I was able to pursue my passion full-time, stress was it everyday part of my life and the headaches never seemed to stop. Nerve pain and neuropathy is fairly common in some of my clients and I see it on my table almost daily. I often teach that food is medicine and medicine is food. This is no exception. It’s more than the prayer alone; it's a process of making things right in your relationships -- with others, ancestors, deities, the earth, yourself. The family ritual focuses on working through problems together, openly expressing feelings, and releasing each other.
