I’m having a rough week. This flare started Monday and has completely knocked me on my ass. I’ve only gotten MAYBE 10 hours of sleep in 3 nights (not counting tonight) and have been glued to my heating pad, cranked all the way up, and only having one as needed pain pill a day isn’t cutting it. I have an upcoming appointment with pain management on Tuesday (two days before I go out of town for a week, great timing body 👌🏼🤦🏻‍♀️🤬) and I have to explain to them that I don’t want a discography because of my history of #eds and complications when we know my eds is causing my vertebrae to slip and cause disc problems and I don’t need another painful procedure to aggravate my ptsd and show what we already know. I also need her to realize that trying to get me off of my narcotic pain medications is an unrealistic goal because #ehlersdanlossyndrome is a progressive illness that causes damage to nerves all the time because of me constantly subluxating/dislocating and relocating my joints every day so most likely the pain is never going to go away. I’m already doing the best I can with alternate treatment (heat, ice, tens unit, lidocaine patches, #lyrica, #nortryptiline, stretching, exercises from PT, etc) and it’s still not helping me have a decent quality of life. Plus the EDS specialist that I saw that sees thousands of people with my condition from around the world said that if it’s helping (which it does, I just don’t have enough breakthrough meds to help me through the day and night) that I’m perfectly fine (for now) staying on it. . So alongside my prescription meds I've started taking these and using this firming oil. I'm hyper-mobile and have too much elastin/relaxin in my body. This causes me great pain with my unstable sacroiliac joint and no matter what physio I've had or how many times I've seen the chiropractor; it never gets better. It causes pain down to my toes and means some days I can't even walk/ stand alone. As soon as I'm realigned my muscles and ligaments are so lax they don't hold me in the right place so I go back to how I was before. This also means once my skin stretches it just doesn't want to go back, sadly. So I've started taking marine collagen to try and improve my skin and aid my ligaments and things. I've also started using #nivea firming oil to help my skin. The glucosamine sulphate is good for joints and cartilage so hoping this improves my awful joints and helps my sacroiliac dysfunction. I've been using the oil and collagen for about 10 days and can see a difference. Wish I took a before photo. What Causes Sacroiliac Joint (SIJ) Pain?

Your Sacroiliac Joints (SIJ) are a critical linkage system between your lower spine and pelvis. The sacrum (tailbone) connects on the right and left sides of the ilia (pelvic bones) to form your sacroiliac joints. Commonly sacroiliac dysfunction can cause lower back, hip, buttock and sciatic pain.

There are two main groups of sacroiliac dysfunction that cause SIJ pain:

Hypermobility / Instability 

Hypomobility / Stiffness
